One way of looking at it is that everything you've learned so far is important. The conscious exit projection does not come easily for a good number of people. However, the energy work and skills that you are now developing are certainly valuable in the long run.

Take a look at some of what is available in our File Library in the way of eBooks and downloads. Also, at Robert Bruce's website http://www.astralpulse.com/ there is an online version of Brian Mercer's The Astral Dynamics Workbook  90 day OBE Program that may interest you. Here is the direct link:

Don't worry, this is normal.  I have not heard of anyone that just went out and became an AP master.  A quote from the Matrix.  "Everybody falls the first time".

There will be many things that break your concentration and seem to be making it impossible for you to AP.  If you come to look at them as part of the normal process, in time each of the new things that come up and catch your attention will fade to the back ground.

Look at it as a baby learning to walk, you fall allot, but don't give up!  Because you eventually learn to walk, er uh AP.

Just keep reading the amazing posts here on the forum and you will learn more and more.  Some people have said that it has taken them a year of more to be able to project.

Just don't get discouraged.  What you described is all to familiar to me and many others.  Keep on going and you will have success.

Hello there Gato !

This reminds me of when I used to try the rope method after reading Sylvan Muldoon's book when I was a wee lad....I'd try all night, feeling myself on the brink of success, but never succeeding.

My useful suggestion - let yourself go to sleep whilst you are practising... Practically impossible, I know...but in order for the rope technique to work (in my experience) your mind needs to be in that fuzzy area half-way between sleep and wake....Some people refer to this as "mind awake, body asleep".

Having said that - Robert Bruce stated in Astral Dynamics that he had great results with the rope technique, after just a few moments of relaxation in his armchair !! But I suspect that he is a special case !

it all depends on what is the easiest method. id be interested in hearing the method you are currently using and id advise you to try others out for a while. Id also be interested in hearing the method used for your one sucessful experience. mantras btw are not a favored method, not by me atleast, as it can bring intense sensations that can be avioded in other methods such as the body asleep mind awake.

Hola Gato!,

Yea, excess energy running around can be a bit annoying when your trying to get some sleep. What you can try that has worked for me is to focus on gathering energy into the navel and belly area, its good for storing energy. If thats not working focus down to the feet or into the earth and then back up to the navel. The navel is like an energy cell, stores up the juice when its not in use, whereas the upper areas arnt to good at storing energy for long periods and can get ya restless when trying to relax if energy is left around there too long.
