This is going to sound a little strange, but it really happened. A few months back, while attempting an obbe, I heard a strange mechanical voice coming from my hallway, that startled me so much it knocked me out of my trance and I sat up in bed, and quit trying. I had head strange sounds before and knew they weren't at all uncommon right before APing, but this voice was so eerily robotic, I sat right up in bed and quit trying to AP. I found it so disturbing in fact, that I no longer could relax as I once could. So I decided to order a digital voice recorder for meditation, and binaural beats. When I received it, something told me to try placing it in the hall where I heard the voice and to see if I could pick up an evp. I only left in on about 5 minutes. and when I went back to play it, I was shocked to get something right away. I head a woman shouting in distress, and a mechanical mans voice speaking back to her. The same robotic voice I heard while in my bedroom without a voice recorder. I made a few more attempts at recording and got more, they were quite menacing sounding, with cursing back at me, The whole thing left me so shaken I erased them, but later made another recording one night in my yard, once again, After playing it on my sound organizer I head the mechanical voice speaking again in a menacing way, about me being one of them one day, and even heard Hail Satan. I said Hello and got a Hello back in a very deep dark tone and another voice saying welcome to your dreams.. It sounded very lower astral. Can anyone explain how I was able to hear the voice before getting the recorder?  Has my experiences with Astral projection simply attuned me more with the astral realm? And have my vibrations been so low that I have attuned myself more to the sub planes? So many questions? I don't even think it would have bothered me, had the messages been less scary. I still am a great believer in Astral projection, and have gained so much insight from it, though I am wondering, if I need to work on raising my vibrations? Also, has anyone else here every experienced any thing like this? Thanks:)

Although it is getting easier to AP. The one thing I am having difficulty with is controlling where I travel. I would love to meet a guide, or see someone who passed on that I miss. Or simply travel to desired location. But, the minute I step out my door, I can wind up anywhere, but there is no control. How is that achieved? Would love some feedback. Thanks.

I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask this on, but since having experienced several successful AP's, I am 100% convinced that I left my physical body. I felt myself lift out or up, could feel my carpet under my feet, all very real etc..
Still, there are usually details in my bedroom that don't completely match up. While it's almost always an amazing experience, things are often so surreal, I have to ask, is it all something I am conjuring up in my own mind, or is it real? It's often said that our state of mind will effect our experiences, so when we leave our bodies, are we simply going in a journey into our on minds, or is it more of a collective experience? Sorry, if this sounds like a crazy question, but I have been wondering about this for some time.

This might sound a little crazy, but I am curious to know if this has happened to anyone else. At around dawn this morning, I woke from a lucid dream, and went straight to astral projection. This happened multiple times, and it was awesome. Although this never happened to me before, I know it's not unusual. The weird thing was, everytime I opened a door, including my bedroom door I wound up somewhere else, in places I had never been before. It was an amazing experience, but it really tripped me out how each time I opened a door everything changed.

I have now had the second astral projection, where I forced myself out of body upon waking from a lucid dream. Both times, when I tried to speak it was impossible! It was as though my lips were sewed shut, or rocks were in my mouth. Strangely enough, on both occasions, I tried talking though words would not escape my lips. Although, as if on time delay, both times I heard my voice saying clearly and loudly what I attempted to say, several seconds before. When my AP's are not forced, I have noticed they are much more peaceful, and speaking comes with little difficulty. Is this normal? And is there are reason for it?

For the first time I was able to experience an oobe that wasn't brought about through floating, but it was so strange. Yesterday morning I was dreaming I was on a beautiful estate that had a tour guide, and many people following her, I remember speaking to a few of them.

Suddenly I heard a sound and opened my eyes, and realized I was laying in bed and had been dreaming. I saw a strange image on the wall, which I often see when I wake suddenly. This time though, it hit me that it would be a perfect time to AP, so I closed my physical eyes and attempted to lift out my astral body, I almost made it, but then fell back, and tried a second time, and was out and falling on my knee's at the side of the bed. When I tried to stand I couldn't, and had to crawl to my bedroom door. I also tried to say Clarity now, but couldn't speak.

Unlike all my previous experiences, this exit wasn't quiet, I heard multiple voices all speaking at once, as you might hear at a large party, but it was coming from my room. I tried to ignore them and continued crawling for my door, but by the time I pushed it open I was back on the estate I had been dreaming about and could stand and speak, only this time the people acted like they could neither hear or see me. I reacted by touching a couple of them on the shoulder only to have my hand go through them, and hear them complain it was cold. The guide then replied that the place was rumored to be haunted. It then struck me that they were reacting to me as if I was a ghost. Which shocked me enough that I found myself opening my eyes and back in bed again.

Are such experiences normal while APing? Or could part of it been a dream? Strangely enough I still remember every detail.

This might be a strange question, but ever since I started attempting to induce AP's, I have been having a repetitive dream where I am a passenger in an airplane that is flying too close to the ground, and near telephone wires. I also have been waking and opening my eyes to weird images, that I believe are called hypnopompic?... Where one time, I saw a parchement scroll, with old world writing on it. And another time saw what I can only describe as a pinwheel of feathers, that slowly went out my bedroom window, one by one. I know neither repetitive dreams, or hyponopompic images are not all that uncommon. But they are to me, since I have only been experiencing them over the last few months. Is it more common to have these experiences, once you take up APing?

I had a strange experience over a year ago that still baffles me, and am hoping someone here can shed some light onto what might have happend. In March of 2011, an old family friend was staying over. By midnight he was so tired he decided to crash on my sofa, rather than go to the guest room. I retired to my room as usual, and soon fell fast asleep, where I started having a series of lucid dreams, that lasted for some time. A couple hours later, I awoke to a loud rumbling sound, and realized my bed was shaking. From the glow of my nightlight I could see my lampshade moving, along with other objects. Being from California, earthquakes are nothing unusual, but this one seemed different from others I had experienced in the past. I could hear loud winds whistling from what sounded like a westerly direction. And also heard what I can only describe as a gushing sound. I can remember holding onto my headboard for a while, waiting for what seemed like an eternity for it all to subside. After it stopped, I got up to check on my friend, and pets. I headed straight through the hall into the livingroom where my friend was sleeping, but realized he was no longer on the sofa. Figuring the strange earthquake must have woke him too. I called out his name, and he came back from the direction of the bathroom. When I asked him what he thought of the earthquake, he looked at me in a puzzled way, and asked What earthquake? He told me, shortly after we went to sleep, his cellphone went off, and he had a long conversation with his girlfriend, and that he never went back to sleep. I just couldn't believe he was telling me he felt nothing, because I knew I was awake, and it was real. I later went to bed tired and confused. But when I woke up the next morning he told me, that about the time I told him about the tsunami and earthquake had hit Japan. He still talks about that when I see him, and I still think about it often. I knew nothing of the subject of astral projection at the time. But could it have been related in some way? Perhaps remote viewing? I'm still trying to figure it out.

Although I am still at the stage where I feel lucky just having an obe, and have yet to experience any conscious astral travel, I have been wondering if it is possible to connect with someone who has crossed over? And if anyone here has had such an experience? I lost someone I was very closed to less than 2 years ago, who I would dearly love to meet up with on an astral level. Is it possible?

I have noticed lately that every so often, I am feeling vibrations, even throughout the day, when I am not even attempting an AP.  Sometimes they can be quite strong, especially through the head the shoulder region. Is this common? And does anyone know why this is? Thanks

Although, it wasn't the kind of experience I had hoped for, I finally achieved an OOB where I was not instantly back in my body asleep. Though it's not believed to be the best method. I have been in the habit of trying to induce an AP before bed. Almost instantly, after several deep breaths I would get a tingling sensation that would start at my feet, and move upward. This would frustrate me, because while I heard these sensations usually hit right before an exit. I was under the impression that at first, you were supposed to be unaware of your body, and wait for the hypnagogic state, but when both were coming, and I still would not exit after quite a wait I would get frustrated and  would get up to shake off the feeling pins and needle. Then return to bed for sleep instead. Last night the same thing happend, but instead of getting up, I rolled on to my side, and decided just to go straight to sleep, but almost instantly, strong vibrations gripped me, and I felt myself floating upwards, then found myself bouncing in my bedroom almost like a rubber ball, my door was already open, so I just walked into the hall into another bedroom. Oddly enough, things appeared almost black and white, but the whites were almost luminous. I saw a large black spider on my wall, which had wings, and kept flying my way. Although I read such astral creatures are manifestations of our own subconscious fears, I remember feeling more annoyed than frightened, because I felt it was distracting me from achieving what I wanted, which was to leave the house, and explore, and I soon woke up.  I am wondering if there is an easy method to travel to an interesting or desired location? Thanks

Hi, I'm new here, and although I have done some reading on Astral projection, I have never posted about it on any forum before. However, I am very interested in learning more on the subject, and gaining insight into a recent experience I had.
I only recently became interested in the subject of AP. Although, I recalled a couple of weird dreams I had years earlier where I found myself floating near my ceiling. Which made me wonder if maybe, those might not really have been dreams, and might have been AP. I decided to use the tips I learned, and tried to induce astral projection, yet nothing came out of it, except that I would become exhausted, and eventually fall asleep. But a couple of weeks later, while my friend and I were on vacation together, we both awoke to the sound of a car alarm going off outside our motel room, it was loud enough to rouse both of us from our beds, but I was more interested in the glowing shimmering purple light, which was right above my bed, it was about a foot wide and oblong shaped. It beckoned me. I somehow sensed that this was my moment and ignored my friends complaints about the noise outside, and just closed my eyes and instantly felt myself floating upwards to the ceiling. The next thing I knew I was floating at the window, then the door, but found myself frustrated that they felt solid, and that I could not simply go through them, as I had expected. That is all I remember of the experience.  Could that purple light have any meaning? And why was I seeing when I was awake, and my eyes were open? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
