i had 5 lucid dreams last night. in one paticular dream i was lucid and talking to my mother - she didn't believe i could fly, (i  told her i was dreaming - i was aware, but not quite at full consciousness)  so i attemped to prove her otherwise, but for some reason i could not  - (my belief at the time, in hindsight was that i thought i was dreaming) its quite amazing how slow we are in dreams - in a sense.

dreams can bonk with you, even while you're aware and "in control" - if such wern't the case every dream would be lucid.

it was only when i woke up i put two and two together.

(in dream) i was walking down my street and said to myself  "if dreams are reality, what is reality? everything spun and i woke up in my bed - i have this habit of waking up and lifting my head up in order to see if i am able to view myself  in my bed - this time it seemed freaky real - looked at my head, i got scared and woke up. lasted about 1 second. i cant believe i was so gay.

it was too quick to differentiate between a dream and an oob experience.

rob got scared :(

was unsuccessful; but highly motivating, to be sure.

ive read up on all the material this past month, and felt fairly comfortable in giving it a shot.

to be quite honest, i expected to sit in my bed and have absolutely nothing occur; however, such was not the case.

i applied the relaxtion technique, and after that was over i sat there and cleared my mind; or, at the very least became an observer. soon, i felt the back of my head pulsating, as i concentrated on it, it became more intense. after a few moments my neck joined the party. slowly but surely my heart started up, and i litterly thought i was going to have a heart attack. it felt as though my heart was pounding out of my chest. my body became extremely heavy, as though  i sunk deep into my bed. ive never had this feeling in my life - i knew i had a body, but i was unable to feel it - i simply 'knew' it was there. my eyes started flickering uncontrollably. at this point i attempted the "climb the rope" process, but i couldnt concentrate hard enough. i kept ' seeing' the rope, rather than 'feeling' it. i also kept 'expecting what to expect' - the harder i tried to be passive, the more involved i became. i can tell this is going to be the major hurdle for me - any tips would be greatly appreciated. suddenly my eyes opened and i decided to abort - as i was exhausted at this point.

very cool experience. now i can assure myself i am on the correct road to having an obe - can't wait!

I read an Edgar Cayce book and Seth speaks(great channelled book). I also read how that Nostradamus though an astrologer was so good at predicting events that obviously he was not just talking of possibilities based on planet configurations but must have seen them through Akasha records like Cayce. Seth speaks similarly about probabilities in the future branching out and becoming impossible to follow after awhile as too complicated. Even now we have according to Seth all sorts of parallel existences where we decided to do something else in another plane of existence and these existences and possibilities are pretty much infinite.

Generally about some life plan our horoscope is a basis. Some Indian astrologers believe they have it down to a science as to what will happen to us at any given time. As Jyotish(Indian astrology) can be so complicated maybe they are right. It could be wishful thinking however. Transits and life cycles for individuals can be standardized according to various planetary cycles( saturn, Jupiter, etc.) so that what you are doing at 30 generally is pretty similar to everyone else who is 30. Of course that is just common sense really but as a predictive tool to find out whay you had some sort of emotional or financial, etc. crisis sometime in the past and to predict the same thing in the future it is a valuable tool and you don't need akashic records or a crystal ball for it.

I think that is a fairly good explanations and certainly it is true that if you start out by disbelieving your chances and ability even everyday things can stump you.

The good news is that the theory works the other way as well. String belief and an optimistic mindset will assist greatly in achieving you goals, including OBE.

Hi Rob,

You are very welcome to the forum.

The famous vibrations - never quite heard them explained in relation to using vibrator (different ho hum)!

If you don't already have a copy of Astral Dynamics or similar, take time to read Robert Bruce's spin (forgive the pun) on the subject in his 'Treatise On OOBE' - Part 8 where he discussed the vibrations etc in detail:

http://www.astralpulse.com/guides/oobe/oobe_8.htm#2

Bruce describes them as been a symptom that is felt by the body, but explains that no detectible vibrations can be found.

Personally I am more used to spontaneous projection, and had found the famous vibrations to be less severe than had during conscious exit OBE. Then later during actual practice work I experienced very strong symptoms before being aware of actually going OBE. This is often followed by spinning sensations – likened to the spinners (if one is fool enough to get exceptionally drunk - hense the expression spun out) but many many, times more strong than that. The spinners are sometimes accompanied by a visual/physical like awareness of been in something vortex like, and again intensity and period for me anyway seem to vary.

Perhaps a key indicator rather than 'keystone' as you may have an OBE without noticeable perception of strong energy sensations etc.

I at first found the onset of energy surges and vibrations gradual - with them building up in intensity, although the OBE seemed to best occur when one just lets it happen – provided you have got to this stage anyway. In other words all the will effort seems to go to getting to this stage in the 1st instance. After that it becomes easier, and during later practice found the sensations less intense and occurring over a shorter (perceived) time frame.

Although some of the more experienced OBEers may want to add something to this observation.

Hope this helps,

Stephen
