Hello,

First of all, I am posting this on these forums because I want the perspective of those who have an open mind to spiritual matters.

In the past few years, I have noticed a certain physical reaction during certain conversations. Whenever I get an almost "predatory" vibe from the person I am having a conversation with, my core (the area around my heart) starts shivering, just as if I were freezing. The person could be a perfectly respectable member of society, or even someone I generally trust, but I just get a bad vibe at that particular moment. It's as if I'm sensing that the person wants something from me or has ill intentions.

Does anyone get that sometimes? I ask because I didn't use to react physically that way. I guess I know fully understand the meaning of getting "shivers" around someone, I never knew it was literal.

A little background on myself, I am a young adult who has been bummed out for a while now, emotionally or mentally I have no more energy. No motivation, no drive, no passion, no self-confidence. I pretty much prefer staying at home in my "safe zone", I hardly try new stuff out, and when I do, it's usually an unpleasant experience that involves stress, anxiety, negative thoughts, pessimism, etc. I only really try new things when I have to, otherwise, I'll just stick to my comfy zone, thank you very much.

What can be done about this? How can I find my drive? I suspect I have deep wounds from my childhood that are holding me back, but what can I do about that? Or maybe it's something else? Nothing is motivating me, and very little in this world interests me, but then again, my horizons are limited.

Help?

When I got to sleep, my eyes often roll around a lot. It can get very painful, but the more I relax, the less this seems to happen.

I get that at certain times in my life.  My enthusiasm just disappears and nothing interests me.

I don't think it's necessarily an 'age' thing.  I was probably at my best between 18-25.

I tend to bounce back though, just like Tigger in Winnie the Pooh!

Ho hum.

Hey Maven..[:D]

My tip would be for you to try ONE technique at a time and do it for a few days, and then if you have no luck with that one, go on to the next one.[^]  Since the triangle technique seemed to work the best, I'd start with that one.

Good-luck!

OBEs don't prove the soul, neither do they prove an afterlife. If they exist (the ones where reading cards etc. is possible), they'd prove that ESP (extrasensory perception) is real.

i have the same questions. I drink way too much caffeine, hurts the liver and makes me jumpy. I DO think addictive substances interfere with the mind/body/spirit equality, and attempting to balance these metaphysically while consuming drugs can cause problems. and yeah, caffeine is a bastard of a drug, and it's cheap!

Hello, The Maven.

(1). If it is that you speak of auras, I have read that one's mental state of development, relative spiritual maturity, and purity of thought are the prime determinants of the color and qulaity of one's personal aura. There are other characteristics involved, such as density, clarity, etc. that I have heard RB and others use to describe this phenomenon.

(2). My thought would be that it was some sort of mental construction which was generated by expectaions and phsychological conflict.

(3). I cannot say- there might be merits to both ideas.

(4). I should think so- I believe the ROPE technique is meant to be tactile than invokative of any other sense, save equilibrium.

I hope that helps!

Thank you,
Stillwater
