To me it sounds like you are describing Astral Vision. The entities are a big clue, and of course if your seeing Aura's, they don't quite match the physical now do they?
To me it sounds like you have highly developed Astral/Auric sight. you are probably an "old soul". Most of us aren't as gifted as you are, and we ahve to meditate and work to get a functional point.
As far as how to develop it? Building energy and meditation. Find a good book on Chakra's (your third eye is responsible for your Astral vision) also. What form of energy building and meditation is up to you, you can go eastern, western, modern or ancient, it really doesn't matter.
