Whenever I consistently practice energy work and OBE training, I usually have about two or three spontaneous OBEs every month. They are usually quite short and I never really get a chance to do anything. They are almost all the same - I will suddenly become conscious in my room or just in front of my house. I immediately know that I am having a non-physical experience. I will then get excited and one of two things will happen: 1.) I'll be pulled in a certain direction and wake up immediately. 2.) Reality will dissolve and I will wake up. At the time, I am convinced that it is a geniune OBE. But afterwards, I usually find some problem with the experience that leads me to believe that perhaps it was just a Lucid Dream. My last OBE on Feb.01/2002 is a perfect example. It's a bit different than the other LD/OBEs in that I maintained full control over my mind and managed to prolong the experience. I'm still not sure, though, if it was an OBE or a Lucid Dream.

***
Morning of Feb.01/2002, before waking. Estimated time: 2 minutes.

I became fully conscious and aware while on the roof of a house across the street. I was sure that this was an OBE and I decided to clear my mind. I maintained this "blank slate" mind-state for the entire OBE (2 minutes). I concentrated on my surroundings to absorb every minute detail. I noticed, at this point, that my vision was slightly blurry. It was also sunny out, like a pleasant summer day. I hopped off the roof and fell slowly to the ground. When I landed, there was no impact. I started moving up the street at running speed. I noticed that all the houses were in their proper places. I then turned down an alley. In real life, this alley is a dead end, but in this experience it led to a rural location of some sort with houses placed very far apart. The grass was green and I remember feeling wind (I think). I stopped moving and tried jumping onto the roof of one of the houses. I jumped up about 3 feet and was pulled back to the ground, landing with zero impact. This was a little disappointing. I decided to put some real effort into the jump, but I only managed to get about 6 feet off the ground. I felt very clumsy. I woke up soon after and recorded the experience.
***

I was positive at the time that this was a real OBE, but I soon found some flaws in the experience. As I stepped outside a little while later, I noticed that the ground was completely covered in snow. So why was there no snow in the OBE? I'm thinking that it may have been a Lucid Dream instead. There are elements of LD and OBE in this experience and it's very hard for me to tell the difference between the two. So, here's my question to everyone: Do you think it was an OBE, or a Lucid Dream, and why?

Thanks,
Malcolm

G,day Malcolm

I don't mind some of Stuart Wilde's books as well,my sister used to work for him & house sitted for him,so I got passed a few books from him,the last one was "Weight loss for the mind" in 1994,so I havn't seen what he has written since, what year did "the sixth sense" come out?

hehe, garlic on grey's,maybe like most animals they would stay clear of it.If you were reading about them or watching movies lately with aliens in them, maybe your subconcious has fed you some replays while you are dreaming. If they do exist, I,m sure they don't get up to any where near as much mischeif as us humans do.

A lot of people don't accept that aliens exist full stop, let alone some could be physical & some could look like what the grey's look like & be in our dimension at the same time.If Stuart has claimed these things & say's that he can see them,I think he needs a head scan, just to make sure,I didn't know that about him having to publish his own stuff, thanks for that piece of gossip mate,I knew he was eccentric, but now.I'll find out more & see what comes of it.

Good journeys

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Auric Sight in Mirror

this has been messing with my head for awhile. before I knew what they were, I was seeing what appeared to be the etheric aura in mirrors. (the white hazy stuff close to the skin)

I know why that shouldn't be the case, not really light, etc, etc.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Greetings Malcolm!

First of all, I am of the opinion that your questions are very good and topical ones, and perfectly fine for public asking and discussion.

You can be sure that people will only divulge that which they wish to

Out of Body, you can travel anywhere in the Universe at the speed of thought, which is much, much faster than, for example, the speed of light. In general terms though, whether travelling on Earth, or in outer space, it is still necessary to have proper navigational skills to visit a specific destination, unless you have a very strong connection, e.g. emotional, with your destination.

When you project, assuming you do not project straight into the Astral, you will in fact project into a "buffer zone" between the actual physical and the Astral - although many consider this zone to be rather an extension of the Astral itself. As such, you are in a realtime "reflection" of the physical, but because of its association with the Astral, is still fluid, and susceptible to "reality fluctuations" caused, for example by visualisation, ones powers of which are vastly greater in this dimension of reality.

As for Out of Body sight seeing - it will be interesting to hear of other peoples experiences of these, here.

Hi Malcolm,

I may be no profesional here, but in my opinion spiritual development is getting closer to the God-Force (as you put it)...
The final stage is being ONE with the WHOLE...
But at the beginning you just have to be less human (in a positive way)... so yes - you are to become better person...

And I think meditation is one of the ways to achieve it...
Another way that I know is the practice of Hermetism - it is also headed towards spiritual growth, development and merging with the ONE...
Maybe energetical work with the Kundalini also will give you major spiritual development...
Or you propably can just get enlightened just like that :-D

And you're right - psychic/occult abilities are not a measure for spiritual development...

As RB put it - these are things that can be done the same way by the saint or black mage...
And it has almost nothing to do with the spiritual growth ('cause you can have this abilities if you practice for some time - it's really nothing special)

I hope my post is not too messy ;-P

Regards,
Alex

Human life is full of magic, one only needs to spot it.

Hi

If I remember from Robert's posts correctly, it has to do with the brow center. For me it came about spontaneously after doing total body NEW for a couple of weeks. I guess if you consciously worked on your brow center (after building up your secondary system first of course) it should come about. When I'm laying down, waiting for sleep, I get to that 3-steps-away-from-sleep point and I kind of focus my vision with my eyes closed, and try make it like I'm looking at something a few feet away past my eyelids. This normally has me seeing my room, but from a different angle then where my head is at (my head is turned right, and I see the left side of my room). Also, this turns into me seeing random clairvoyant images eventually. It's pretty cool. Good luck.  Ben

Greeings Malcolm!

Thanks for your bug report.

There does appear to be a problem with Hobbies and Favorite Quote, but everything else seems OK in that regard.

I will take a look anyway.

Regards,

Adrian.

Hi. I have a very, very minor bug to report. When I open my profile to edit its contents, some of the information (Bio, Links, Quote, and Hobbies) disappears and must be re-entered. That's all.

Thanks,
Malcolm

Hi Malcom,
 My name is Michael.
To answer your question, yes - energy can be consciously directed beyond the confines of the physical/etheric bodies.  An old axiom I came across a few years ago sums the process up very well.  'All energy follows thought'.  This is why concentration exercises are considered important - if all of your thoughts are focused on a single object/intent, more energy can be directed in this way.  Expanding on what you have learnt in NEW, you can draw energy into your body and direct it using awareness hands.  Be sure to 'feel' the energy going where you want it, and it will go there.  In Qi Gong, before a student is allowed to project energy, they generally have to complete a compulsory one year of energy raising/storing (into the lower storage centre/Dan Tien).  The reason for this is that the Chinese Energy Model (for want of a better term :) ) believes that during the projection process some of your own energy is transmitted - therefore, you lose some of your own, which can lead to fatigue or illness.
Possible applications are limited only by the imagination, practice and experience.  Generally, most people will use this for healing.

Whether researching Qi Gong or any Western Energy Healing technique, there is plenty of good resource material available.  (Mantak Chia, L.V Carnie, Barbare Ann Brennan have some good books to work with.)

Good Luck to you!

- Michael.

G'day!

Core images will often just appear in your minds eye, but if not it is quite ok to visualize them.

Yes, it can take quite a long time when you first start doing this. But like everything else, you get better at it with practice, and it becomes a faster process. 10 - 15 minutes is quite reasonable.

Take care, Robert.
