do you inhale for 7 second, and exhale for 11 seconds, or just to the count of that in your mind?

I was meditating the other day, and the vibrations came, it felt like I was "putting" my energy into a specific part in my body. My head was moving side to side by itself after a while and stopped.

Then my left hand/arm rose itself up to my forehead and started banging on it, from sorta hard banging to light. My hand also circled around the area. This is my 3rd eye area definitely, as I get vibrations there all the time.

What do you think?

EDIT:I have been researching this online, and "seeing" colours has been mentioned. I see blue while meditating sometimes.

just lying back on my bed with some headphones, and breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth, while listening to some tranquil music?

Anyone else reading this? I am currently 24 pages in and it is ingenious so far, could be one of my best reads of all time, if not the best!

Hi, I think that when I see people on TV that they can see me, and communicate with me. Same with posters, people talking through my speakers, etc. I have had these beliefs since puberty.

Also, if I see a license plate of a car, and if it ends in a number like 4, or, 6, 8 things will happen a certain way, and that if they end like 3, or 5,7, things will happen a different way. I literally believe this. Or if the seconds hands on a clock ends on the right side of the clock this will happen that way, if it lands on the left hand side of the clock, another way.  Events like these go on etc.

I never believe that I am alone, and I never talk to people if I see them, only recently do I talk to people. Anyway, I am taking risperdal (2MG) and these experiences are lessening. I am being put up to 3MG now. I took 6MG the other day and for once for years I felt by myself, like I had control of my own thoughts, and destiny.

What do you think I suffer from? I told my psychiatrist these things (he put me on the risperdal) but does not think schizophrenia.

Does it help you OBE, Astral Travel?
#7
You know, it pure changes your mind, slow reactions, different everything, how do they respond to this?
#8
I hear people say negative stuff about it. I am on 60MG a day ATM, but I want to know what the side effects are.

Hi everyone. I will attempt to stay awake from now (12.30am local time) until Friday night.

I think sleep deprivation can play a big part in projecting, and in reaching the hypnogogic state. Makes it easier I should say. I have been awake for 12 hours now and am really tired, hope this passes by soon. I'll be on my Xbox 360 until it does, hehe.

96 hours of staying awake straight, my previous was 36 hours, please wish me luck people. I will report back here every night on my condition and if I experienced anything astral or OBE.
#10
I often read how the native americans would stay awake for like 3 days straight, and that they would travel to other realities.

Do you think there is more chance of astral projecting when it is combined sleep deprivation?

When I am on the pills stuff like toys, clothes, etc, inaminate objects move by themselves.

And just there I felt like my BED was raised off the floor and a person sat down beside me. You can't see them directly, cos they'll disappear if you look at them full on. They are people though. my bed was moving for a bit, me just lying down, stimulations of being on top of a moving bed. If I look at the my PC screen and Alicia Keys desktop is on it, She wouild start moving a bit :D

Anyone know what this is?

Hi, I sometimes think about taking away my life. I'm 19 now, ain't got any girlfriend, or a job. Whenever I do a course I always drop out after a couple of weeks, i've got zero motivation to keep it going. I'll more than likely be getting nowhere.

Feeling so down, even though I am on 40MG of Prozac a day. They have took me up to a entirely different level of thinking, but I still feel down. I am thinking of putting myself into a mental asylum for a couple of months, have all the characteristics, tried to kill myself when I was 17, wasted my late teens staying in my home 24/7 when I could have been chasing girls. But then I don't want to be in there for very long.

I just want to take some drugs, they make me feel real good, not a single care in the world I have, I even feel refreshed the next day. Whenever I take a sleeping pill and stay awake (when I am tired) it feels like a 1000lb boulder is lifted of my back, I feel like I can do anything when I am in this state. My minds gets way calmer, my body lets go of itself. Do you think tranquilisers in mental asylums are the same as drugs/can have this effect? I am alone 24/7 now that i'm living by myself and the drug takes all that away. The pill takes out my true self, I am always biting my nails, fierce nervous when girls look my way. My Tai Chi teacher said my body is always tensed up, I am very shy, this is not want I want to be. The pill brings euphoria to me, it takes me away from my reality. Shamanist tribes from the past took NATURAL mind-enchancing drugs to take them to the astral plane, why can't we do the same? Damn goverment and their laws, taking away what nature provides naturally for us. My mind is just a 1,000 times lighter whenever I take it, and I want to really get into this type of stuff. Even though I am not addicted, the way it turns my mind around, I feel like I can face any sitution in everyday life.

A tranquiliser I assume is the same as the effect I get when high, so I may book myself into a mental asylum alright, even for only this. But then I don't want my youth to pass me by, I want to be something in a couple of years time.

Hi, does the altered states that binaural beats (ie Boxed Nirvana II) help you into help your creative side a lot more?

Because I am songwriting and want to make sure I can be as original as possible, make better rhymes and express what I feel inside more. People say that you "have the talent or don't have it", but I am not so sure about that.

Do you think binaural beats help? (This also count for meditation on it's own aswell)

Hi MisterJingo, you seem like the forum skeptic on here    so i'd thought i'd ask a question:

People argue that evidence suggests suggests the brain is only associated with consciousness, and that scientists have not proved that the brain creates consciousnes. What is your point of view on this matter?

Hi. I sometimes get very shy when thinking about approaching a girl in a night club. I am fine when talking (most of the time) but it is the approaching and striking a good conversation which is the hardest.

What techniques would you recommend for decreasing shyness? Think I should get to a deep state (like focus 10) and create a positive suggestions mp3?
#16
Sometimes when I am in an altered state I can concentrate on a object, like a top and I can make it move by itself!

Gonna keep trying this

Hi. I hold an irish passport but am thinking of getting a british one aswell. My Mother was born in London and held a full british passport. Only thing is she died in 1990.

Would I be entitled to a full british passport cos my Mother had one?

We all know that they can produce a high. though the drug high can get active (ie moving about) but with meditation your making your body to go to sleep and calming your mind. If you move about during medittation you won't project, while you can do that with illeggal drugs, Cannabis, reefer, ectasy and the like.

What do you think is the difference between the two. And People say that drugs produce hallucinations, but are they real or not?
#19
Hi. I am using positive suggestions recorded by myself for my eating habits. I  relax for 20 minutes, concentrating solely on my breathing a good bit with soothing music on my headphones, and I get to focus 10.

Then that is when the suggestions start. Do you think this is a good zone for these suggestions to reach deep into my mind, to make me change my deeply embedded negative eating habits? Also how long do you think it will take for the suggestions to replace my old habits fully?

The church has had a major influence on matters for almost 2,000 years now. However 500 years ago if people spoke out they would be killed, but nowadays people can do it freely. Though the church still those have high connection in academia, goverment, etc.

How much do you think the church has lost influence since it's peak of influence, and how long do you reckon Christianity will be around for?

Hi, I have started Hemi-Sync, I am looking forward and hope I can utilise the tools in it well. Any tips?

How long do you think it would take for me to identify and exit with my 2nd body using Hemi-Sync? (though my main thing is exploring altered consciousness very deeply)
#23
Do you completely lose feeling of your physical body during it or are you highly relaxed but can still sense it is there a bit?
#24
Hi, I am looking for a program to record my voice on to send positive messages to my subconscious while meditating.

I have a microphone, now all I need is a program (free one possibly) that can record my voice and allow me to play it back, and possible record it. Does anyone know of such one?

Thanks.

When I relax I listen to some music for about 30 minutes and my body is extremly relaxed. When I do this I do not even have to stretch my muscles, but lay for 30 minutes still and my body would get this relaxed. But how long would it take for it to completely asleep, to the point where you cannot feel it at all?

And do you think thinking a little bit can interfere with relaxing your body to that level? (since mind and body are sometimes linked)

I used to be friends with a boy named Graham a couple of years ago, his older brother had his throat slashed by a man who used to meet up with my ex-friends other brother.

It is sad that this happened, especially as the man murdered was only 23, and he was a good person. I hope the murderer gets brought to justice immediately.

Hi, I have been trying to OBE consciously recently, but to not much avail. Anyone, i'd like to clarify what I experienced.

1:I heard on here that the "floating feeling" you get while relaxing your body is a sympton of trance, and not actually OBE'ing. Can you tell me the difference between the two.

2:Your physical body, at what point does it have to be relaxed, and would it be relaxed to be point that you can't move it even if you tried?

3:When relaxing, I always get a swallowing sensation in my throat, does me making a swallowing action interfere with trying to create a mind awake/body asleep state?

4:I have tried the method of leaving your arm in the air when falling asleep and it waking you when you go unconscious, but I find this extremely hard to attain, are there any easier methods that can wake you up immediately after you fall asleep?

Thanks very much.

Hi, I am a bit overweight and am always worrying about it. Like if I lose a pound I get worried.

I rarely just let everything in the world go and get high or something, and not give a damn about anything, stop thinking about losing weight, everything. Suddenly feels like you can do so much then.

Swallowing sleeping pills at night and not going to sleep is a good method of getting this feeling.

It's like the feeling of the cosmos. Smoke Marijuana, sleeping pills, meth, whatever way. Then you just fade away, having a very pleasureable experience. Nothing gets in your way, and you can do so much. That chick I was too shy to go up to all my life, i'd walk up to her now to kiss me.

Those bills don't have much on me, or that I can't pay my rent, FUC! that. I'm getting high, things moving on their own in the room. excrement at the start of it I felt like I got picked ip and dropped somewhere. I like the consciousness places, rather than the everyday, worrying, I am going to lose weight or not. etc etc etc

I want a girlfriend, someone to be my princess, I am 19 and don't have one. My 1st cos had one at my age and my Sis says I need one, and I would really like one, I would cherish her footstep, and I may lose my virginity, Where should I look for my princess?

(BTW, the forum is messed up tonight, the colours are going upside down and twirling.)

Welcome to Astral Chat! / preventing cancer?
April 06, 2006, 20:00:33
Hi, is there anything spiritual exercises you can do to yourself that would help prevent cancer.

I am asking this because I am getting null feelings in my right neck (though I don't feel a lump) and sometimes around my head and small bit down my right shoulder.

Hi. I have been trying to OBE a lot lately, but to no result.

I relax my body and try to keep my mind clear, but my body could have no feeling for HALF AN HOUR yet I still wouldn't have feelings of OBE'ing at all. Like I was very tired going to bed last night, but kept my mind awake. I was awake for 4 hours straight, with a conscious mind, no feeling in my body but still no OBE.

Can someone help?
#31
Not sure if it was astral linked or not, but here it goes.

I was meditating for roughly 20 minutes, saying "aum" and consciously paying attention to my oxygen intake and outtake. The "screen" before my closed eyes are normally bright, pink. But then the "screen" turned dark, with different types of shapes coming and going there, and when I focused my concentration more into the darkened screen my eyes started to twitch, does anyone know what this is? The screen went bright about 10 seconds later again. This happens at least twice every mediatation session.

PS: I sometimes see peoples faces in this screen, faces I don't consciously think of.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Life and "death"
March 29, 2006, 20:52:40
Do you think there has to be a meaning to life? Life would make no sense if you die, and your just.......dead for ever.

People passing away, like a mother loses her daughter she would never get over her, and the same goes for a father and son. It would just not fit in properly if oblivion only waited for you.

IMO there has to in the end be some kind of afterlife, EVERY human has a love for someone else (that goes way beyond reproduction of genes) and EVERY human wants to survive death, you can NEVER deny that. If we were not meant to survive death I don't think nature would have made us want to so much, make us conscious beings, and want to disappoint us in the end. Even the most hardcore "I don't believe in an afterlife" alive wants to survive death. So much emotion in the world towards it. Everyone wants to have an afterlife, because we all have a longing towards it. The people who think oblivion just don't have everything sorted out, and think we must be gone forever due to thinking we are purely biological survival animals, even though they want an afterlife.

Before humans thought the Sun was God, thought the earth was flat and centre of the universe, that there was a rain God, thunder God, the list goes on. I don't think humans are robobts, there is no limit on what life holds, and I think in millions of years to come people will hold the way we interpret consciousness, the brain, our view of the universe (including us being only biological survival humans) now in the same manner as the people who believed in water Gods, and the like.

What does everyone think?

Western medicine seem to think that they do not exist, when they do. It is the same with energy work like Kundalini, when it is raised the brain transforms with loads of "antennas" sticking up, howcome western medicine has never studied a person with raised kundalini?

I think they should study reality first before they even start to think about disproving OBE's, NDE's and the like.
#34
What is your preferred method?
#35
If you have loads of free time, what would be an ideal way to fit and OBE timetable into this? Something like the "lazy person" way.

Hi! I saw this spirit website where people post their stories, so i'm gonna post  mine here. If you want to comment on them you can. Here is the first one:

1) When I was around 14 me and my friend were playing some soccer outside the back garden and it was a misty night. I guess the mist has nothing to do with it, but it added to it. We got a creepy feeling out there from the atmosphere, but we played on still. Anyway eventually we left my place and we walked down the street. Where we walked you make a right and head straight down but there is a road to the right down that route aswell, it's a wide road with a footpath.

Anyway when we were walking down the street where the 2nd right is and I looked up. About 40ft away there was this dark entity. It must have been about 7ft tall and it had no real features. It seemed to have a cloak of some sort and it's shoulders were very wide, it was welt built up. There seemed to be mist around it and what looked like children around it. I stopped and looked and my friend looked too at the same time, he saw it too. We didn't know what it was. We were looking but it never came towards us. We left then.

2) The same friend, the house he lives in, his grandmother gave that to his mother when she died, but prior to her dying there were some experiences. My friends mam said when her and her mothers were sitting down in the living room they saw a black figure pass the doorway. Also my friend said when he was about 8 he was staying there and he heard loud laughter down the end of the hallway, but when he looked there was no one there.

This is interesting now. When his grandmother died at 1am at around 1.30  am a shadow figure appeared on his mothers bedroom wall. It had a hat on which would have been the same type her father would have worn in his hay-day, and there are none worn anymore. She said it appeared on the wall for around 10 seconds and disappeared. At 2am the police called to inform her of the death. Also before she died when my friend was in the hospital with here she was saying "what is Patrick doing here?", referring to her late husband. The same happened with my grandmother before she  passed away, she saw members of the family who had died before her, and I have personally heard other deathbed sightings aswell.

Strange Case Of A Man With No Brain

By James Donahue

April 2005

An odd twist of research into the human brain was sparked some years ago at the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK, after a campus doctor treating a student for a minor ailment discovered that he had no brain.

As the story goes, the doctor noticed the student's head was a little larger than normal, and he referred the man to the late Professor John Lorber for further examination. When examined by CAT-scan, it was discovered that this man, a mathematics student with an IQ of 126, had virtually no brain at all.

Instead of two hemispheres filling the cranial cavity, some 4.5 centimeters deep, this student had less than one millimeter of cerebral tissue covering the top of his spinal column. His head was expanded because the student was suffering from hydrocephalus. That means the cerebrospinal fluid, instead of circulating around the brain and entering the bloodstream, becomes dammed up inside the skull.

Doctors say this condition is usually fatal during the first months of childhood, and if the individual survives, he or she is usually seriously handicapped. What was strange about this case was that the man was living a perfectly normal life and went on to gain an honors degree in mathematics.

The discovery led Professor Lorber to a study of the brain in which he projected the question, do humans need their brains at all? A better question might have been, do humans use any of their brains, and if they did, what more could they achieve in the course of their lives?

It apparently did not occur to either Lorber or other professors of the universities' neurology department to ask this important second question.

Just goes to show what kind of information humanity will keep on discovering. What do ye think are the implications?

i'm thinking of how all physics base their theory on the brain interpreting time-space. ie relativity with the optic nerce and quantum physics with what's you think is on the outside is what is being interpreted in your brain. Also with the binaural beats, they are based on lets say 60 hertz being applied to one ear and 50 hertz to another, and your brain creating a sound.
#38
Hi. I have been listening to the meditation mp3's (the sounds with the waves crashing etc) and I want to know what is required to enter these wonderful altered states of consciousness.

Is it just lying down, leaving your body relax itself, and the sounds will take your there, or is there more to it than that?

Hi, I am an overweight person by about 2 stone and I find it impossible to get rid of the many years of brainwashing and conditioning by ad's on tv and sugar cravings. I got a hypnotize book with a tape used them, along with much other stuff (not pills, etc mind you) and it didn't work, it feels like the conditioning by the ad's is so embedded in me it is literally impossible to get it out, I always get cravings when I see a food.

Are there many ways mentally to completely remove this, and for me to have control over my mind and put in positive stuff instead of highly negative?

I remember before I used to live home with my Dad and it was all a negative enviorment, and I was depressed and the like, I just didn't feel like anything.

Now since I moved out and I will take a break from my dad for about a half a year, my life is practically transforming. I am self-reliant on myself, and it just feels so good. I am losing weight now, I am down to just under 15 stone now, and I was 18 and a half before. I am about 2 stone away from my ideal weight and this is giving me more confidence. I never had the push in me before to do a course or something, but now I feel like I can do one. I am 18 now (going on 19 on 3rd of January) and there is a course in my local college on personal development. It is for 10 weeks and you go there 2 nights a week. I want to establish a routine and meet more people, and hopefully do a full time course or get a part time job or something by September next year.

My room was always in a mess before, but now like I realise that I can find a space for everything and it is much easier. It was not that I didn't know that before, I am just "seeing" it now, if you know what I mean, and how easy it is. I am doing nothing at the moment, I play games an awful lot, but I am fairly happy, I go into town almost every day and go into this internet place, at least I am getting out and I am doing stuff I want. I am sure I will want to do something better pretty soon, and a major plus is that life is not all negative. I want to be at my full potential, operating 100% efficently before I make a big decision in my life. I am just posting this if in case anyone is in a dark situation, there is always a way out. I know it is hard, but you have to potential hidden in you to become whatever you want to be.
