The two postures I read about most are on the back and on the right side. I have tried both with no success and other positions as well. Crossing limbs is supposed to be bad, but I can tell you from an accidental experience many years ago that the full lotus with hands crossed and no back support can be made to work. Lots of people have accidental successes going out of body in meditative postures.

When you say that you cannot get close to sleep is that the opposite of my problem? I cannot seem to stay awake when practicing.

GOOD SHOW!!! To dream about OBE certainly shows dedication. You'll be waking-to-OBE in not time.

Good day...

that's really incredible taht you succeeded. i think it's even more incredible that you stayed lucid that long. most first time ld's only last a second or right past the point of recognition.  it was true for me as well.  as soon as i started flying or got too excited i would lose it next. here is a key point that i didnt find out till too late. wahtever it is that yo uare doing to induce the dreams keep doing. just because you have had one or ten doesnt meant you'll keep having them. i trailed off my practices after about a month and stopped lding altogether. i just thought i broke the barrier and now they would just keep coming. keep writing everything down and if you dont already have a book on lding then go get one and read it in your spare time. even after youve finished reading it, carryit around and when you are standing in line somewhere or something, just open it up and page through it to keep everything fresh on your mind. good luck.

What I was told was that karma is when the energy we send out is reflected back on us. Doing harm in any form sends out energy indirectly and incompletely. It comes back. Some say 3x as much. Some say in equal measures. In Mahayana Buddhism, it is magnified by the world around us and the longer it takes to come back the stronger it becomes. When harmful energy is sent out with discipline what can you expect to come back? Karma and reincarnation are linked. If there were no reincarnation then karma could be avoided by death. If you believe that actions have consequences and that the purity of those actions for good or harm matters, you will stop thinking of black magic.

Sorry, I never have.  I always wanted to, but time & money have a way of keeping me away!

Are you eating enough and drinking enough water? Getting enough sleep? Remembering to breathe? Exercising? In general, doing the things your physical body requires? When there are unusually high levels of energy in me, it is easy to get dizzy and come close to passing out like that. Often I find that at the same time I have not been eating enough or otherwise that my body has been ignored.

Im a Christian(Catholic) so I guess i'll chime in.

As far as I  know, there is no verse in the bible that says OBE's are evil or even good. However there are a few verses which seem to refer to OBE's and varies aspects of them.

Whether or not a belief system affects ones spiritual development is, as far as im concerned, specific to the individual. Some people treat their Christianity as just a label that they can put on a form or survey. Others take it too far and in their zeal, twist the message into a way to hate those who are not Christian, or who are not Christian enough. For these people spiritual development is the least of their concerns(or a solution to their problems perhaps). For me truth is truth and and since i've had obe's, and i've experienced intense moments related to my faith, I can't deny anything.

Now, as a Christian im "supposed"  to tell you to be a Christian, but I can't do that unless you really want to have Christ as your savior, and if you truly can hold to a strict code. The last thing Christianity needs(especially at this time) is another fundamentalist or recreational Christian.

And thats my opinion.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken:
The crownless again shall be king.

Welcome to Dreams! / Very complicated Dream
July 27, 2002, 14:41:08
**I took a nap this same Saturday, and I had a very intense and vivid dream**
I go to the store with my father, blah blah.  We go into this store and we have a debate over which lawn chairs to buy.  I want the ones with arms on them, but he buys for "armless".  They were either 13 or 17 dollars.  The ones with arms were the same price, but they had a 7 dollars deposit for some reason.  I looked at the other side of the store, and saw a computer screem.  The wallpaper was that of a misty bog type place.  It had a stream in the middle, and it was a brilliant green mist hovering about the place.  This formed a basis for this dream.
I then have a dream inside this dream, that I went to this place.  There was more I'm forgetting, but I do remember a crazy man climbing this one unstable tree, and jumping onto a table where a lady was laying.  Fortunately, the lady got off the table before he landed.  I  was seperated from the group, and ran through my garage door, and locked it, now inside my kitchen.  He punched a hole through the screen, and as I ran to the main front door, I imagined him unlocking it from the outside.  I proceeded down the hall and opened the front hall and went to open the door.  I had seen the door handle as the same one as the kitchen door's.  Now, odd thing, but I corrected my dream!  I said to myself, this is not right, so I then visualized and turned it into the correct handel, and proceeded out, down the drive and onto the street.
I beleive that was a little conscious input.  But now, I wake up, still inside the dream.  I am conducting experiments, and at some point I hear about a contest on a candy bar for those who keep the best journals.  I tell my friend (there were 3, one which disappeared) we need to go.  There is a man in a black car outside waiting.  Our boss was taking care of a murder up above, routine stuff.  As me and my friend are getting ready, we keep seeing the guy in the car, very slightly, due to the tinted windows.  Kind of intimidating...escpecially after this next incident.  He calls to the house, and I answer it, while they do, and listen to the conversation long enough to pick up the idea: if my boss doesn't hurry up, the driver will kill us.  Well, me and my friend are all ready, and we have to wait for boss.  When we get out, we load the black car: I had 2 medium stacks of red-orange cones, my friend had 1 large stack of orange-red cones.  Boss and the kid put there stuff in the trunk, and I put mine on the floor next to me.  This backseat was meant for 4.  There was a guy on the right end of the backseat, not boss.  boss and the driver were in front.  My friend got in the middle, and I got on the left.  We had a method to seat ourselves as 3 in a 4 person seat.  We start driving, and apparently we are heading to "Wantagh Stadium".  I ask, what's there?  Driver just smiles, like its something great.  We see a sign, and it says some crazy name that made no sense, and I said aloud, "How do you get Wantagh out of that?"  Well, there is a police barracade up ahead, and we keep driving...  As we approach it, and go into/through it, I get this insane rollercoaster 500 mph death drop feeling.  The ultimate drop on a rollercoaster, so it seemed.  And we were through.  The driver like put the car into a different energy dimension, and teleported us to the other side of that barracade.  We were now in a white car.
I asked "What the bonk was that feeling?  That was so intense!"  They look at me wierd, and the driver in particular.  "You felt it?"  I said I did.  "Only me and __ __ could feel that."  I now got a sense that I was special in this energy way.  I said aloud "I just stimulated my energy body and . . ." The others, (now it was like a van with 2 girls added and that mystical guy on the right, gone) just looked with odd faces and chuckles.  "Nevermind, you'll think I'm crazy."  The driver gave me an extra long stare, and continued on.
We approach the stadium, nothing special.
Eventually, we exit the car, and I have a gun pointed at my head, as if I'm a threat to the driver.  I assume, in the dream, that it was due to that feel I had back at the blocking.  They then discover that my friend is not the kid who they thought, or rather, doesn't belong here; some sort of orphan, a threat to this business.  Now it is a flash to an old-style bar.  A random person blurts out "Who's the father of this kid?"  Some random teenager kid says, "Hah, I don't like that kid.  I might as well be his father."  (In the dream, his claim as his father was somehow a hinderance to this kids chance of survival).  A silent man stands up, old-fashioned brown trenchcoat.  He says "I am his father."
A fight breaks out with 2 people, and the father takes both down with some insane style of martial art.  The impression around the room was "imagine what his kid must know!"
After the driver realized this, the gun was lowered, and he was reassured.
My friend and I exchange dreams from the previous night, while we have a chance to talk.  We coincidentally have had the same basis for a dream.  After this joyfull exchange of words, I awake.  Amazing dream this was, just amazing.

**While typing this up, I recalled a dream I had a while back**
I was on Salina street, but it also had the impression of Erie Blvd.  So it was a combination of both, which would make for an interesting place in real life!  I am riding down this street on my bike, and go through problems.  It is like I am living on my own, with this bike, and this street.  Also, it is like I am away from home, exploring.
I think if I had kept a journal at the time of this dream, it would have been more clear.

Hi -

Are you asking how many members have tried the AD techniques? I think lots --- though I think everyone has their own little preferences as far as technique.  I certainly try some of RB's methods. His ideas have been quite useful to me. But I don't quite do things by-the-book.

Or are you asking how many devote certain nights to attempts?

I think the answer is still 'lots.'  Most of the members here are pretty serious about making projection a priority in their lives, and over the long haul at that (though some of the contributors might have only short term goals in mind at present.) . I am also going to give it a serious go tonite, after I log off.

That sounds like one of the books I read. Oddly, it didn't work. It was difficult to get through the exercises.

I picked up "Gomang chants" recently. it is Tibetan sacred music. I don't listen to it for the purpose of entering trance, but listening to it does make me mindful of spirituality.  i might be able to enter trance with it, but I am more likely to use the monroe hemisync for that.  I greatly enjoy the chants.

Although I am still working on learning projection, I do have something to ask. Could you please try doing some visualization and then do some NEW to increase your energy and then try visualizing again? When you have more energy (I suspect) your visualization should be clearer, sharper, and with less effort.
