Welcome to Dreams! / Scary dream... :'(
August 21, 2003, 18:28:00
Hi LapSiLap,

I thought this was more of a dream topic so I moved this from obe discussions to our dreaming forum. If you feel that there is a better forum PM me and we'll work it out. Thanks.

Very best,

Hello.
For a long time I would try and "push' things to far - I would mentally attempt to force myself ob when the vibrations started.  This would either cause a moment of change (momentarily ob maybe) or I would blast off into some short-lived, out-of-control projection - either way they were always short-lived and a little annoying.  Like you say, this could happen several times in one night.

I got over this by sitting back and enjoying the vibrations and gently, gently easing myself away.  I would do this by either moving my astral body out of the physical or by playing with opening the 3rd eye - this would lead to imagery that would sometime act as "gateways" to a projection.

So enjoy what great advances you've already made, would be my advice.

Good luck.

Page 292-293 of Astral Dynamics deals with this problem.

It suggests not thinking about it because that will make it more of a problem. It also suggests not drinking sweet drinks, tea, coffee and anything else that leaves a flavour in your mouth, causing saliva to flow. Brushing your teeth with a saltwater mouthwash then rinsing with fresh water is also said to help because it gets rid of unwanted tastes. Prop yourself up slightly higher than normal, this will stop saliva building up in the back of the throat. Keep your mind off it, only swallow normally and when you have to.

I think you should invest in a copy of Astral Dynamics it gives you help on almost all problems you are likely to experience during Astral Projection and trance work. If you already have a copy, referring to it, as it usually has something to offer.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Sleep paralys
December 29, 2002, 20:56:48
for me , fully body paralysis is my key to projection. I wait for it when I'm trancing .. usually I notice that I am blacked out and I realize that a part of me is floating... when I notice this .. I realize that I have full body paralysis along with it so I simply get up and it feels like I physically do it but when I go to get up , I think about getting up and do it sorta with my MIND and with physical action.

I believe I can do anything. I believe I just have to learn more before I can make it happen. http://www.mutedfaith.com/images/spirit.jpg">

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Dream?
December 23, 2002, 13:18:35
It sounds to me like either a lucid dream, or just a dream you remember well.  However, if you can keep working with your dreams in this manner you can use them to launch into a bona-fide OBE - - - - so don't be frustrated, because you're progressing!  Keep it up . . .

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Time Travels!?
December 21, 2002, 14:39:56

Thing is, within the Astral there is no "time". Time is a 3-dimensional construct. I suppose the only thing missing from the post in question is a copy of the winning cheque. Without that, the claim is meaningless.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Up or down =/
December 10, 2002, 19:14:04
Hi Lap
I find what helps me attain a  good level of trance [focus 10] is concentrating on the still nothingness period that occurs after the exhale.I`ve heard it reffered to as  the "eternal moment" .As I get deeper, I find this moment lasting longer than the inhale or the exhale. When I experience a phase transition of conciousness I believe it occurs from this part of the breath cycle. For me it took some practice to get to the stage where I didn`t have to THINK about it which can defeat the whole purpose of the exercise. After a while it feels quite natural.

Not necessarily.  If I wake up and remember everything as a memory, then I usually chalk it off as a dream with good memory recall.

However, if I am conscious of the dream as I'm experiencing it, then I would say that I'm having a lucid dream or possibly even a projection.  It's all just a matter of how much conscious awareness you bring into the situation.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Why AP?
November 30, 2002, 18:17:07
Why not AP? There are a lot of things we can do when separated from our body, either through AP or the related lucid dreaming. The biggest thing is that what is now subjective for us when in the body becomes objective on the astral. It is an incredible opportunity for us to know ourselves better.

While I wouldn't Consider MySelf a "Beginner" I'm Definetly Not as Far Along as A Lot of People on This Forum.  However, I have been "Traveled" SomeWhere along the Lines of 30 Some Odd Times.

While you were Paralysed, You didn't have an OBE.  That was just the First Step to Getting Out!  :)  You say You Managed to Move, and get out of it.  Well, thats Exactly What You Don't Do!  :)  If you get into that state again, you must not let the fear get to you.  I know its hard, like I said I have been out quite a number of times, and even now, I still want to fight it.  You basically just have to let go, and let it take you over.  Then You can "Pop" out, and your Free to Fly!

While its Eazier Said then Done, Your Well On Your Way!

Cheers
