Hello to all the folks here.
I have been trying for several years now - off and on to experience an OBE. The longer I go on, the more I want to experience it. Are there folks out there who never experience one? I dont want to sound pessimistic but if there are some folks who can never exit to an astral plane, I will feel better about it. I have tried music, meditation, some home brews, entrainment and even meditative exercise. All of these make me a very calm and focused person and I feel great. However, I yearn for the experience to travel to astral planes. Any one else have experiences to share that I could use? I have tried many things posted here already. I reach a stage where I feel sensations (root chakra) and feel an ascending wave and occasionally in the crown chakra but somewhere along the way it does not last and I break out of it.
Thank you.

hi all
greetings i have been an on off user on this forum but lately i have been a serious reader and am also trying work on my meditation techniques.
I had a question for the some of the senior people here. the way i try to achieve the mind body disconnect or as i refer to it the 'happy state' is by focusing or concentrating on certain notes or instruments while listening to music on my headphones, occasionally I even mentally recite a mantra and repeat it over and over again to the tune of the song i am listening to. Though i have never APed or OBEed yet, i think i do get the shivers when i completely intent on the music i am listening to. my question is around 20 minutes to 30 minutes into the deep meditative relaxed state, i start feeling a little uncomfortable around my throat as if it has gone dry and i am usually doing a lot of swallowing movements, more often than not this sensation of lump in my throat ends up being noticed and my concentration veers off.

Another observation i have had is when i am truly focussed and completely relaxed mind state my head usually is turned to the left at a slight degree and is tilted downward and to left. i was wondering if this is anything to do with hemispheric dominance? FYI i am right handed.

any inputs regarding the above query is appreciated.
thanks and peace all
