I've never used it myself, but I wouldn't suggest using marijuana to try to astral project. If it's causing the vibrations it might be that links are being damaged between the astral and physical bodies.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Eyes
May 25, 2006, 02:23:08
The darkness might help with loosing an amount of attention to the physical world (just like when the eyes are closed). Sometimes the astral eyes are open and can be mistaken for the physical ones. That's usually the case whenever the eye lids are seen through. To get past the eye-opening problem it might be necessary to learn to ignore it.

Some people have a somewhat similar problem with relaxing muscles. When trying to relax their might be a resistance in the muscles to loosen up. Is the eye problem a result of relaxation attempts? If so it might be necessary to direct the attention to something else, like perhaps simply saying a mantra. The muscles should relax naturally and sleep should take place without the need to try to overcome the resistance.

It's possible to achieve that 100% consciousness in a lower plane; but whenever sleep is achieved with that, the result is the causal plane. The reason for this has something to do with that at the moment of 100% consciousness we are detached from certain mental forms (which generate the random thoughts while falling asleep and cause the hallucinations, vague, and surreal experiences which occur in the astral).

There is a communication of expressions that can take place between one's being; it can also take place between other beings. I can't recall ever having been to a place like you went, but the instantaneous communication I'm familiar with.

The expressions can also be used for 'waking up' and the expanse of consciousness (because they are at root outside of the mind).
#105
Another possibility (though it might be the hallucinations that happen then) could be that it is something of meaning. The thing to do then is just to go with the gut on what it might mean...any distinct feelings?
#106
It sounds really simple, but it really can help with obtaining mental oneness. It's works almost like a mantra. Though, I've tried saying mantras for hours and still haven't been able to bring about complete mental tranquility. This is a good method because it's continuous.

1. Focusing on the heartbeat is okay. Some people feel the heartbeat wherever it can be felt in the body because it is not always easy to feel it from the heart.

A mantra can also be used for concentration:

Concentration is more simple than meditation. Concentration just involves keeping attention. Basic concentration is not perfect (there are many thoughts which interfere).

Not every method of concentration helps for meditation. The goal of meditation is perfect concentration (having complete mental control so that there are no random thoughts). With meditation there is not only no speaking, but there is also no mental speaking. Mental speaking can be thought of as not only words, but thoughts about discomfort with one's position, desires to move, thinking about what one will do after meditating, and so on...

Many wise practitioners of the past have used meditation for a more specific purpose (though many people don't know the 'true' purpose of meditation)--to get into the Causal plane of the 6th dimension.

No, I mean the Causal plane. The vital plane is in the 4th dimension (also known as time). The astral plane is in the 5th dimension (known as eternity). The Causal plane is in the sixth dimension (known as cause).

Going to the Causal plane things might appear more substantial than experiences in the physical world. I've been there, and things have been clear (as clear as my most heightened level of consciousness in the physical world).

Astral experiences might be unclear because there are the various thoughts which interrupt the conscious functioning. In the Causal plane the various interferences are temporarily gone. The key of the prolonged vowel (a form of meditation) is to bring about 100% concentration and mental performance (to short-circuit random thoughts). This doesn't have the effect of reducing the wits, only temporarily sharpening them.

This is a method to directly exercise a chakra of the astral body at will. I've posted it here because it hasn't gotten much attention in the astral consciousness section.

For those who don't know, chakras are faculty and sense organs of the astral body. In most people they are commonly inactive. This post will focus upon the means by which the frontal chakra (located between the eyebrows, near the center of the head) can be activated and exercised at will.

STEP 1: The first thing to do is to give the chakra a 'warm up'. To be able to exercise chakras at will it helps to be able to hear them. To warm up the chakra (to a level in which it can be heard) a mantra can be used. Mantras are phrases or sounds which are chanted to produce psychic effects. Mantras are used for remembering dreams, astral projection, and various other purposes. The mantra that is in this thread exists for the purpose of activating the frontal chakra. To be able to further increase its vibratory activity, it has to be exercised at will.

STEP 2: The mantra I

Pronunciation:
I as in (see)

1. Sit in a comfortable chair.

2. Inhale slowly and deeply through the nose, filling the lungs with air.

3. Exhale. While exhaling say the vowel I, prolonging it, until the lungs are out of air iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

4. Again inhale, through the nose, filling the lungs with air.

5. Upon exhalation again say iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, until out of air

6. Repeat the mantra on an on continuously for up to an hour.

STEP 3: After saying the mantra for days the frontal chakra should be hearable. The sound will be subtle, not as audible as ordinary things that are heard (almost like a slight ringing or whistling in the head). Some people are used to hearing chakras (when they are barely active) and mistake them for a problem with their ears; but the sounds are not.

When it is hearable, concentrate upon the frontal chakra and try to increase the sound and exercise it at will. Spend up to an hour doing it, replacing the use of the mantra. If the mantra needs to be said more to further stimulate the chakra then that can be done. However, the mantra doesn't work as well as exercising the chakra at will.

These books are about practical spiritual development. They can be read in this order and the information within applied to life circumstances for a 'true' study of the texts:

1. Revolutionary Psychology

2. The Great Rebellion

3. Hell, Devil and Karma

4. The Three Mountains

5. The Golden Blossom

The frontal chakra possesses the faculty of clairvoyance. By learning to stimulate this chakra, it is possible to then stimulate the others in the same manner.

This is a simple form of meditation by which it is possible to enter the Causal Plane.

1. Lay down in preparation for sleep.

2. Mentally imagine saying the vowel O, continuously prolonging it.

3. Imagine that for what feels about at least an hour or however long it takes to fall asleep.

The technique is very simple, but it is a very effective method for getting to the Causal plane. By falling asleep consciously we enter the astral plane. By falling asleep with a completely silent mind (perfect concentration) we enter the Causal plane.

Most people look glazed in the astral. The problem is that they are asleep and don't know it. They are unaware. The regular thoughts that we have in the day have a much more 'tangible' manifestation in the astral. That's where the dream scenarios occur (the effect of mental activity in the astral).

Many people have rightly said that dreams are a direct reflection of one's psyche. The illusions, changing scenes, etc. which occur in the astral are a more visible manifestation of the thoughts that one has in the day (although they are not the real astral environment)...

Breaking sleep cycles can also help with remembering dreams. What I used to do is to sleep for about four hours, then wake up and say a mantra for a while.

Usually, before going to bed I would also say a mantra. So, I would astral project and have lucid dreams in the first cycle. Then, as I woke up I would have more experiences from saying the mantra again. The third benefit was that it was easier to remember dreams. I didn't break the cycles for two hours though...

If you encounter a situation like this again you can try using a conjuration. By conjuration I don't mean the invocation of an entity, just words that are said in which can have power over evil.

Someone, whoever it is, has conveniently posted two of them within this forum. In the past, I've used them both with success.

The key point is stilling all of those random thoughts which bring about unconsciousness. With that, it is possible to simply do nothing and just fall asleep.

Mantras can have the effect of stilling mental activity. With the random thoughts which are taking place the attention is scattered. When saying a mantra you might notice that at points you loose attention on it, you stop saying it, and are temporarily thinking about something else...

I have said mantras for up to an hour or two and thereafter had conscious astral separations. The relaxation of the muscles, etc. was not even neccessary. Also, in my experience, when I have been practicing mantras daily, mental tranquility has come easier and astral projection, lucid dreams, etc. have occured on a daily basis.

PM me for a sound file of a mantra if you like. Mantras for astral projection are spoken mentally

The focus of a mantra is the prolonging of the phrase(s) or vowel. The key point in getting the mantra to work is the resounding phrase. The breath is a secondary factor (Kumbaka is not suggested). The deep breathing not only has the effect of further prolonging the vowel, but it can provoke an altered bodily state.

One would have to be using the mantra to possibly get a clue of what i'm saying. It can be done for 15 minutes, although it will be less effective.

In astral experiences it is possible to have diffierent amounts of consciousness. Although, it is also possible to 'dream' about astral projecting. In the astral plane we have other senses, beyond the physical ones. The mime might be an imagined representation of someone who was really present (because there are illusions which one might see in the astral). So, it is possible to be aware that someone is around, although they are not physically seen.
#121
Simple. When we astral project we fall asleep, remaining conscious. Some techniques that are used can help in 'stilling' the random thoughts which have the effect of short-circuiting one's consciousness. With the thoughts temporarily stilled, it is possible to fall asleep consciously more than once.

In short, we leave the body each time we sleep.
#122
What some people mean be an exit technique is simply one that gets them out of the body. Sometimes, when close to the separation in astral projection, some people find that they can't leave their bodies. I have been able to leave the body naturally and with no sensations simply by remaining conscious and allowing the body to fall asleep. There are many techniques to 'rush' astral projection. In this case, the body does not completely fall asleep, and the separation is either impossible or difficult. In these cases, body parts might move; or there might be unnatural reactions and sensations that occur from the inability to separate.

Mantras can be used to 'still' mental activity as the body falls asleep naturally; an alternative is just to remain still, do nothing, and not tune out

Although I don't smoke marijuana myself, I don't recommend using it to try to astral project.

Well, I've experienced relaxation of muscles simply by taking deep breaths. The extra air seems to circulate around the body. This occurs sometimes when I am saying a mantra for a long period of time.

Though, in my experience, you don't have to relax the muscles to achieve a conscious separation from the body. You just have to fall asleep consciously.

"Actually physically. I was really tired and took some sleeping pills, but couldn't sleep still."

Could you have possibly been asleep and having a dream about moving the pen? Sometimes I fall asleep and am unaware of it.
