thank you all once again for your advice and guidance. It has all helped me a great deal. While i kept all these questions in my head it felt like a mess up there, now it feels slightly clearer and i think i understand a lot more now. I love that feeling when you suddenly understand something and it's like all the rubbish is blown out of your mind. Thanks again.

Thank you all for your responses, they were all very helpful.

7.  "those who are most selfless and humblest have highest chance to progress towards ending rebirth. the road is very tough"

When i read things like that it becomes almost certain I will not be ascending anywhere any time soon. A friend once said to me some people have to much faith and that is the main reason they fail on such a path. When mistakes are made they forget about them and carry on with faith instead of analyzing their mistakes and learning from them.

I like to analyze my mistakes and learn from them, but for me the problem is faith. I have absolutely none, no matter what miracles i might see or do, it's never enough to convince my mind it's possible. I just feel like all faith is blind and it will lead me nowhere. Now i know your opinions on enlightenment. Does anyone have any useful advice on beating my problem with faith?

responses will be appreciated.

psychedelic is a strange word isn't it...

Thinking of everything that a typical person faces in every day physical life, do you suppose it is possible for an ordinairy person to go beyond these responsibilities and pressures to become enlightened and move on from this plane forever?

In my personal opinion I belive that it is impossible to totally escape physical responsibilities such as work, and attachments. What do you think? Do you even think enlightenment is possible at all? or is it all just another form of control to keep us in order throughout our lives, give us something to look up to so we don't freak out and go crazy.

the universe gifting us with it's conciousness...that could be misunderstood in many ways. I believe our soul is created when the light of "god" or just pure energy is fused with the physical minds conciousness. If seen correctly both beliefs could mean the same thing.

What was meant by light and dark was not good and evil actions but good will and evil will. As such things as good and evil are beyond the physical, they could not be explained or be involved with the physical without causing fierce debate or without considering peoples perception.

kai wren,

"Now, lets see if this is responded to with anger or with understanding, eh?"

It does make me laugh when people react to posts with such emotion as anger. It shows how unbalanced they are in their mind and prooves they are not fit for serious discussion. Anyone here who reacts in such a way should reconsider reading any topic containing discussions involving opposing opinions.

Shyness,

i agree with andonitxo, just because an experience is negative, it does not mean it holds less valuable knowledge then a posotive experience.

Negative doesn't neccesairily mean torturous and punishing. If you are experienced and prepared for such lessons then you will see them as you would a posotive lesson and will find them just as rewarding. Personally i've learnt most I know from experiences most people wouldn't describe as jolly. But i did my duty in learning what I felt i was required to learn of my own free will. This is very hard for many people to understand as they have chosen different paths to take which may contradict my own. I'm sorry if you still feel that a negative experience isn't good for the soul or that they hold less valuable knowledge then a loving experience.

you have basically said everything that i have been saying, only in different words and in a much more reassuring way i must admit. If you will read my previous posts i do mention that it is our choice what path we take and that we can get rid of our guides if we don't want them, in relation to that I do imply that we control our lives also. Your only problem with my opinon seems to be how negativity is just as useful as posotivity.

"But to be honest.
This discussion isn't about spirit guides at all.
It's about inner confusion.
That needs to be clarified first before we start talking
about good and evil, right and wrong.
And before we blame our guides and the divine
for everything that's goes wrong in our lives."

As far as i am aware, nobody in this conversation has accused their guides of being responsible for the terror in our lives. I have simply been saying how our guides will teach us lessons through negative experiences, as in when we have a negative experience our guides teach us all there is about it. Not that our guides are the ones that throw us into these experiences.

"So let's start simple.
Let's forget our guides.
Who are we?
Why do we feel lost and depressed at times?
What can we change to feel better?
And what kind of path or direction
we really want to go?"

We are a fusion of conciousness and energy which forms the soul. Desire and physical complications create feelings such as depression and the like. There is a simple solution to this which I feel is best for mankind to discover for itself. We take whatever path we want, all our guides can do is guide us in our decision, whether it be right or wrong is also for us to discover on our own.

i like to remember that darkness isn't the opposite of light, darkness is just a dim light. Maybe totally irrelavent to this conversation but it's still nice to think about. If there was no darkness and only light, then in time some light would dim down. If there was only darkness and no light, in time some darkness would brighten up. Thats what i think anyway. When in light, darkness will be born, when in darkness, light will be born.

To the subject at hand. Though typed in slight annoyance, I think it's about time someone came out an told everyone what the ultimate truth is. Next episode we will find out how everyone reacts to this startling truth. Will it be met with anger or understanding?...

Alaskans,

knowing this truth, are you prepared to take that path and move out of the grey? If you truly believe it to be the truth, wouldn't you disband any irrelevance in your physical life, sacrifice anything and everything? If that is the ultimate truth then any other type of life is pointless and only the goal of achieving the light should fill your mind.

Heres another story.

A crazy friend of mine wasn't a christian and practically laughed at the idea of religion, when his family found out about this they literally trapped him in the house and prayed and prayed for his soul to be saved, "o lord forgive his ignorance".

A week later I see him again and talk with him, he's so deep into religion now i've lost him as a friend, he believed through all the prayers he puked up demons and was purified in the bright light of god. He goes to church every week and makes large donations. He likes to remind me how i will go to hell for not joining him in prayer and for my beliefs. His dramatic change really opened my eyes to the power of religion, and i was absolutely discusted.

Using this story for reference, I still stick by my opinion that religion was distorted by man an that religions modern interpretation of tampered texts are what does the damage and transforms others, creating the narrow minded and somewhat annoying attitude i see everywhere i go.

I read your story about how you made love to your guide...and I thought it was beautful. For people such as yourself who are on that kind of path, your guide is doing a fantastic job and i commend him.

"What? I have a very hard time believing that."

hm ok i may of put that a bit wrong. In the rare case when someone is on a certain path to something far beyond any path of man, that kind of training and teaching is common. To master all things you must be familiar with both the posotive and the negative.

If that is the kind of path you want to take then carry on, if you want a simple path of love and a good physical life with no torment or harsh lessons, then i suggest you seek out a guide that is in the same field as shyness' guide.

not forgetting your guide might just be evil and misleading you...there might not be anything deeply spiritual or deep about it. Plain and simple honest truth, i think it is more likely your guide is yanking your chain and you need to get away before you end up hurt. Your fear isn't made from ignorance, so it is safe to say you need to move on from your guide.

Usually when people want to float higher all they have to do is will it to happen and it will. For beginners this happens in oh so many different ways. A surprisingly common way for beginners is to see arms pulling them higher only to realize these are their own arms. I am guessing this happens as the mind is very new to this experience and is slightly confused on movement and uses anything that might remotely make sense to lift you higher. With practice and preparation you should be able to relax your mind and stop it from doing such things. Floating will be done with your will not your arms.
#111
Now that you have the intention of astral projection, maybe that intention is causing you to subconciously or conciously force the process into action which is consequently stopping the process you have been spontaneously experiencing in the past. Try to focus and just let it happen as it did before, you will soon see you haven't lost the ability. In cases like this you have to be patient for the experience to happen naturally, only once it has begun you can focus on astral projecting.
#112
well I have already done the seeing your hand with your eyes shut experiment before and after astral projection just to see how clearly I can actually sense my hand. And coincidently I did that experiment once while walking through the park and someone walked past me pulling a weird face but then i laughed at them with my eyes shut and said you wouldn't understand. (I didnt conciously know that person was staring at me but I said it anyway which was probably more shocking to me then it was the person i was talking to).

As for the quote on lsd and stuff, thanks for the lesson i'll be careful to bare that in mind for the future.
#113
I can astral project whether i'm awake or tired, i guess that's down to experience. But lately i've been doing it much more then usual and my physical ability has dropped dramatically. however when i have a break from astral projection i become more efficient in physical tasks. I strongly believe it is all related. If your focus is on the spiritual your physical ability will suffer for it and vice versa...
#114
thinking of it as a math problem. Maybe the original mathmatician comprehended the mistake so it was worked into the equation as not to effect it. If that makes sense.

And about the voice thing, last night I was wondering why i had never before experienced these freaky voices, it was then I heard a deafening scream that came from outside my door and flew right past my ear and out the window. Apparently these sorts of things are our imagination but damn that felt pretty real to me and i wasn't that sleepy either. Maybe it is just beings pratting around and they could feel that i was comprehending it so they acted on it. Or maybe my subconcious is very imaginitive. Now i've experienced the voices i'm not sure on my opinion anymore.
#115
when doing part one of your experiment i did see the white glow which resembles that of my astral hand

During part two however i saw many colours circling my hand as i moved it around, it intrigued me and i sat there for about five minutes playing with this effect. I never usually try things like this as I feel they have no significance when it comes to spiritual development. But it was fun to see all the same. Do you see similar things when doing this?
#116
not necessarily. guides commonly use physical torment to teach spiritual lessons.

It would not matter when you made the decision to take this path. You always have the choice to just walk away.
#117
I had the gigantic feeling and the harsh vibrations right before my first OBE. I realized that these sensations excited me and made me brake focus, after i realized this i taught myself to just ignore them and carry on and boom i was out. No matter how weird it feels never feel like it's enough and just ignore it no matter how strong it gets, at one point you might feel like your so so so close you astral vision is even kicking in, but you must totally ignore it. Its a real test of discipline of the mind but damn the reward for such discipline is immense.
#118
I never had the problem of fear for astral projecting, which might explain how all of my exits out of my body have been exciting and sometimes peaceful. usually i get a silent rush like i'm moving 1000 mph without moving. But if i project after meditation it's like my soul opening up into a world of freedom and purpose.

Maybe you should try meditating before you astral project, your mind will be a lot calmer and you will be less likely to be interrupted with thoughts of fear. From there it's all down to experience to wipe out your fear for good.
#119
after projecting, after meditation or even is i'm just relaxed, i move my hands or any part of my body and there is an afterimage of that body part that just floats behind my physical body part. When i'm relaxed it's about half a second behind. afer meditation about 1 second behind my movement and after projecting it's a good 2-3 seconds behind my movements. I believe it to be my empty astral body which has become constantly loose due to me projecting so many times. Does this afterimage effect happen to anyone else?

(when i do this only I can see my afterimage and it happens no matter how fast or slow i move my body part. It's so clear sometimes it's like it's nearly solid but it always has a light white glow around it.)

"All I can do is look at the women who have gone before me, talking to angels, and see how they have lived. Women like Mary, Joan of Arc, and St. Bernadette. Life wasn't good for any of them. They all lived in poverty, suffered hardships, and died without having gained any benefit."

They may not have gained any physical benefit but any spiritual reward for their efforts are known only to them. Maybe when they died they recieved what they had been striving for all their lives after all.

"I'm looking at this and asking "What do I get? What's in it for me?" And there is nothing. Why did I agree to this? Do I enjoy challenge? Maybe instead I should learn to enjoy relaxation and easy living."

If you feel it is your time to know your path then ask them what is going on, if it is your will they should tell you what you want to know. Maybe you should just see this as a challenge and make a decision from deep within your heart on what path to take. Maybe they are acting this way to test your will to go on. A wise man once said to me the easier path is always the wrong path. If I had to make your decision i would go on.

"There is a certain dread. What are they going to ask of me? Some awful suicide mission? Something that will bring me infamy? Something that will make me the subject of gossip and scandal?"

I'm sure if they requested such a thing of you, you would have the common sense and individuality to decide for yourself if that is the right course of action to take. They don't control your life, it's all about choice.

If you truly believe you are being mislead then tell these "angels" that you wish them to leave you alone and that you just want a normal life. If they are pure and just they will respect your decision and you will be left alone, if they are negative beings then they still can't do any real harm to you and if your will is strong they will not be able to keep in contact with you. Nothing is more potentially powerful then the soul, and willpower is the fire of the soul, it'll pain them to be near you.

Choose wisely your path.

wow i'm relieved people are agreeing with my views here. I tried to tell some people around where i live about what happened and they told me serves me right for being controversial. I've never seen a deeply commercial church but I wouldn't mind visiting one just to see how deeply disturbing it would be. All of this really puts into perspective the theory that religion will destroy the world. There has been terrorism in the "name of god" and wars all over the world about religion. I wonder if it's just doing far to much harm in the ratio of how much good it's doing.

very very very very well said. I read that with joy at how right people like you can be. Tear to pieces...to hell with that, it should be framed and enlarged.

I have thoughts of what you typed but have never found the correct way to broadcast it to others. It's good to know not everyone has fallen into the trap of modern day life. I guess the sad thing is, so many people will read what you typed and laugh their socks off and try to put you down for it, and as far as i can tell there is no method available on this Earth that can get the majority of people to see the truth and stop hiding underneath their possessions. Still as long as there is at least one person alive that can see the truth, there will always be hope.

I went to a church where they held a special service where people discussed their experiences with god. All i heard all evening was stories of how god had reached out to them in television adverts which inspired them to help change our world and how terrible the world is. I asked them if they had ever considered that such terrible acts in the world could help better us as well as other well founded questions but whenever i disagreed or questioned anything to do with their religion they scowled at me and in the end i was thrown out for being the only person not placing blind faith in a book. They were so lodged into their faith that they had totally closed their mind to anyone with different views. It was a sad thing to witness. It was as if religion had removed their individuality and recreated them like zombies. Just a form of control.

I do not doubt that things such as the bible are unholy or that they are without truth. But consider this story:

A long time ago just after Jesus had died, there was controversy between the Romans and the Christians. From what the bible had taught them, the Christians were somewhat rebelling against the Romans and as a result many innocent people were slaughtered for their beliefs. In response to this, one Constantine the great took all of the controversial holy scriptures and burned them, keeping only the scriptures that caused the least conflict and exacted a certain form of control. From that time this new version of the bible was passed down through time accepted as absolute truth, when in-fact it was just a method of control. Nowadays such control is not needed but the same brainwashing remains in effect.

I appeal to anyone here who is deeply religious to not totally shut their minds out to the rest of the world and whatever views they may have. To realize the absolute truth in religion one must be open minded and sometimes question their beliefs. Also just because it is sacred, it does not mean it has not been tampered with through time in order to simmer down controversy. I also hopes this makes sense, it is late and at times like this i can sometimes speak total rubbish.
#124
reading that little speech of yours...it seems it was made with a lot of blind faith towards humanity and god. It's all faith with no back up of logic or knowledge. If anything i would say we are far away from the dramatic evolution you are describing. Things can't be done with blind faith and service. there is more to it then that. If such a place would one day exist, how would we grow and learn through experience. Through the actions seen in every day life, both good and bad, we learn from it and ascend to higher levels of knowledge and grace.

However to the point at hand. My guide has always been there for me to help me progress spiritually in a unique method that fits me. I have read posts on this site where guides have committed themselves through acts of love in order to help the person progress spiritually. If you cannot tell your guides intentions by sensing love or fear, just think to yourself. Has your guide(s) helped you progress spiritually, or have they been completely pointless. My guide once taught me a lesson through an experience of fear and humiliation. The lesson may of seemed negative but the important thing was that it helped me progress in life.

I have downloaded your recomended book on karma and look forward to reading it. I would also recommend this site to anyone else interested in the spiritual as there are many links to very fascinating books which I will myself have a read over when I can.

thanks in advance for your help.
