Out of body experiences are real in that they are objective events. They are not traps but they can be unnerving. Facing the unknown can be difficult and sometimes scary. So it IS good to be wary but not skeptical.

I am in empathy with your situation. That sort of thing happens to me a LOT! Usually I just end up in a completely unfamiliar nonphysical location. There is no real 'reason' for me to be there. So I don't know where I am or how I got there or what I'm supposed to be doing there. Go figure. Anyways I just deal with the uncertainty as best as possible.

Happy travels  :-)

You asked
QuoteQuestion time!
1: Is there really a string that connects to my body?
2: If I decide to go to someone's house, will I actually see what's going on, or just what my imagination tells me?
3: Could I get lost?
4: Could other astral's come into my body while asleep?
As best as I can answer
1: Yes to some, No to most. What I mean is that only about 5 % of people going out of body actually See the silver cord. (Whether it still exists and is not seen by most is another question).)
2. Probably. There Are such a thing as Reality fluctuations, meaning that sometimes you will only see things happening in the ethereal/astral plane and not in the material world, but that is unlikely.
3. Yes, (I have been 'lost' many times while out of body) but eventually you will return to your physical body and wake up.
4. My understanding is that a 'walk in' can only occur With Your personal approval and possessions are Very rare.

Hope that this helps  8-)

It is Very unfortunate when family and friends do not believe in you. But it is important to explore on your own and decide what is real based on your own experiences.

Greetings all
Szaxx, you wrote
QuoteThe BST's have been associated with groupings by too many to say otherwise. The labels of F(number) this is grouping. All are related in some way.
Allowing a frequency scale of indigenous vibratory rates as a reference for explanation.
The lower vibratory experiences are indeed dark and rather unpleasant to bear witness too.
The higher in frequency you are the more pleasant things become. This is reported by many over the last centuries in one way or another.
Being human the limits are naturally imposed on us all and this seems to bear to this explanatory scale.
Its the 'YOU' that you are that imposes your position.
Yes, well said. This is an idea that I Am generally in agreement with.
However I Do have two problems with this. The first is the concept that the lower vibratory levels =  lack of energy = lack of enlightenment. This leads many people to conclude that evil is simply the lack of knowledge (enlightenment). The argument usually goes that people who commit evil acts only lack the knowledge (= enlightenment = "light") or else they would be better beings and refrain form harming others. In my world view (and other worldly view) this is only a lame excuse to deny that true evil exists (evil as a separate and independent force existing whether or not anything else exists to counter it).
And this leads directly to my second problem. Which is .... if evil is simply a low vibratory level (lack of knowledge, enlightenment, energy, love, light or whatever) then the most wicked evil beings should be the ones with the lowest vibratory level. In fact the most evil of all (Stalin, Hitler, etal) should be just about comatose in an afterlife as they would have a baseline (low) vibratory rate. Yet, if in fact, the afterlife is quite similar to the physical life, (which BTW I believe that it is) then these evil individuals probably have loads of energy as they were Very energetic people during their physical lives. Maybe there is a law of astral physics that makes one vibratory level the most evil of all. But probably not. So what logically remains is that a decrease in vibratory level does not necessarily entail a more evil being since the end result would be a complete lack of any vibratory level and, hence, a complete lack of existence.
Again there could be some irrefutable Law of astral physics, or consciousness or karma or whatever that offers a satisfactory explanation for evil vs good but the high vibratory rate = good, low vibratory rate = evil theory Does have those 2 big 'holes' of which I have just mentioned.

Thanx for reading 8-)

If you are relatively new to the concepts of OBEs, lucid dreams and astral projection then I suggest that you read some of the threads in the "Welcome to the Astral FAQ forum" to get acquainted with many of the ideas and terms that are regularly discussed here.

Hello Vogerle
Yes I am familiar with some of Leland's work. His 'dream zone' Is similar to the concept of a Dream Plane.

its_all_bad
You should Never feel forced to commit to an idea/concept/theory that you are not totally comfortable with. What IS important is to realize that the Fantastical Does exist, be it in the Dream plane, the astral plane, ethereal plane or the material plane.

Your intro post has certainly stirred up a lot of (positive) debate. Usually I try to avoid the 'difference between lucid dreams and OBEs' threads. Yet occasionally I will post my own beliefs. So here goes -
Yes there is an Important difference between OBEs and lucid dreams (LDs). OBEs occur when the consciousness (Spirit, soul, astral body or insert your own definition) separates and exists outside and independent of the physical body. OBEs takes place on either the ethereal plane (sometimes called the Real time zone, a higher (dimensional) extension of the physical material universe). Or OBEs occur on the astral plane (hence the term astral projection) which is also a higher dimensional realm yet which does not have any counterparts/duplicates in the physical universe.
LDs occur on the dream plane, which is also a nonphysical location like both the the ethereal and astral planes. Yet the dream plane is different from either the astral or ethereal planes. Essentially it is Much easier to create objects, people and scenery on the dream plane thus making it possible to create an entire storyline during a lucid dream. Creations in the astral and ethereal planes tend to have shorter lifespans and, in general, are harder to maintain requiring more focus and attention than during a LD.
Please note that my view is probably Not the majority opinion, at least here at Astral Pulse. The idea of a separate Dream Plane is probably Not shared by most of the members here. However, if you are interested I will direct your attention to the www.dreamviews.com website where there are several excellent threads supporting the idea of there actually being a separate and independent Dream Plane.
Hope this welcome was not overlong.

Cheers :-)

Yes, indeed, by all means recount a few of your out of body adventures here on these forums (whether they occurred at the Monroe Institute or not). Be assured that you will not bore anyone. I always find reading other peoples accounts of their OBEs highly enjoyable.

Hello Lionheart
It certainly Is possible that I heard a false report. Interesting results from your research, the "Is John Cleese dead? page had some humorous posts. Yet Cleese's name was not in the list of famous people /celebrities who had false obits and stories published in the mainstream media.
So you may be right on the mark this time, yet..... I still have a serious doubt about this one.  :| :?

Hello its_all_bad
Personally I see a big and important difference between a vigilante ( a person who patrols and searches for criminals) and an ordinary law abiding citizen who carries a gun for self defense.

Hello Bedeekin
The Pierce Morgan - Alex Jones interview has been a hot issue here. That got me into looking at an older Pierce Morgan interview of Jessie Ventura. I'm not a big fan of Ventura but he did makes some very good points during that interview. Ventura's best argument was that if he (Ventura) had been inside the cinema during the Batman movie shooting then he (Ventura) could have used his concealed weapon to prematurely end the massacre.
While that may sound like bragadocio (sp)to many people it is actually a rational and sound argument. Gun crimes Are deterred by law abiding citizens who either carry guns or own firearms in their place of residence. I do not recommend that every person either carry a gun or even own a firearm but I do support the right of any non felon who wishes to legally purchase a firearm by lawful means to do so.

Cheers

Hello Lionheart.
Yes no doubt the social media craze has been the cause of many false rumors. My problem is that I "learned" about John Cleese's "passing" on tv. I can vaguely remember seeing either a CNN or Fox News report of his demise. It was not on Facebook, twitter or Youtube. So while your observation is right on the mark it does still Not explain this (personal) reality glitch.

Hello ChopstickFox
Yes, you are right to be
Quote"terrified of guns"
. Assault rifles and similar weapons ARE
Quotehighly efficient killing machines with enough power to take down a full grown elephant
.
And in the hands of ruthless criminals even police in body armor are highly vulnerable.
Yet my BIG problem with the proponents of new strict gun laws is this: Most criminals who use guns for criminal purposes (gang members, drug dealers, etc) get their guns illegally. These new stricter gun laws are going to have little or No effect on such people. A latino MS gang member or Hell's Angel biker or Zetas drug cartel boss here in the USA will continue to carry (and perhaps use) a firearm illegally no matter What new law(s) are passed.
BTW I also believe that nearly All the perpetrators of the mass shootings (including the man that committed the recent Connecticut school massacre) either already did or would have found a way to get his guns and ammo illegally if necessary. In other words the mass shooters may have obtained their guns and ammo legally yet, had it been necessary, nearly all of them would have obtained their guns and ammo illegally no matter what guns laws were enacted.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Reality glitches

Hello to everyone.
Another reality glitch popped up today. Just a couple hours ago in fact. After watching "Wheel of Fortune" on the local NBC affiliate here I then watched about 5 minutes of the NBC sitcom "Whitney" There was a scene in the show where the two main characters went to marital counseling. The marriage counselor was played by John Cleese (of "Monty Python' fame).
Now I had definitely heard that John Cleese had died. And this 'announcement' of his death was about 2 years ago. Can't remember where I heard or saw this announcement but the important point is that I am 100 % certain that I DID see, hear or read this announcement.
So I do a Google search expecting to read that Cleese is indeed deceased. (Actually I thought the "Whitney" episode was an old rerun from early 2012 or late 2011). But NO !!! the Wikipedia entry for Cleese does Not list a date of death and the "Whitney" episode is a first run.
So, really WTF is going on.  :| :? :?

A reality glitch. Very likely so!!

Hello Bedeekin
Yes indeed. Beware Any person who would change, amend, or simply trash a 200 + year  working blueprint for a modern democracy for the popular political issue de jour.
And yes, it is distinctly more unsafe to live in the USA vs the UK regarding gun violence and gun crimes. Yet it has Always been that way. And the murder rate has dropped steadily during the last 20 years. But don't tell that to any Democratic politician because then you might be labeled insensitive or, worse, possibly even be considered a gun nut.
Now I do Not currently own a gun. BUT have been robbed at gun point. And have also suffered a home invasion (where nobody in the house was home at the time fortunately.) So I DO support the right of every US citizen to own a firearm for self defense.
America will not self destruct because of guns. There are bigger issues, mostly illegal drugs, foreign wars and the steadily erosion of the US constitution and Bill of Rights.

Your response to Bedeekin's query of
QuoteIs the constitution applicable to today?
was Spot on. Good job!!
I find it ironic that the Founding Fathers wrote the second amendment as a safeguard against the transgressions of the British government. It was quite clear that they did Not trust any government to uphold individual rights. Indeed beware anyone who asks
QuoteIs the constitution applicable to today?
whether they be American or otherwise.

The US Constitution is Quite Clear about the rights of US citizens to bear arms. AND there are Plenty are strict gun laws already on the books.
Beware of politicians trying to enact newer stricter gun laws. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

A very interesting OBE/AP indeed! You may well have been in some type of parallel or alternate universe. Or you might have visited a Belief System Territory (BST). A BST is a nonphysical astral realm that does Not have a physical counterpart in this universe or in any other parallel universe.

You asked
QuoteI End up occupying a different body when i do vibration changes, what is acutuel happening?
You may have inhabited the physical body of another person. Or you might have inhabited the nonphysical body of another person. If so that would be Very unusual (although I Have read other OBE accounts of that happening). In the end only You can tell what happened. My guess (or anyone else's guess) would be mostly useless as nobody else was there to experience what you did.
Also the entire city collapsing during a major earthquake shows that something very important happened but I have never experienced that myself so do Not know what was occurring. I have never read an OBE account that included an earthquake flattening an entire city, very odd?!?
In any event you seem to have a natural ability to go out of body and visit very foreign unusual astral locations. Thanx for sharing this OBE with us.
