Vibrations within a dream has been the only way ive had vibrations for the past month. They normally occur just prior to or shortly after sleep. Yes-i am aware that i am already astrally focused when in the dream state which makes these vibes during dreams all the more peculiar. Thats why i assumed projecting thru vibes in the already focused astral dream state may possibly lead to Kepples focus 3. One recent experience i had as i relaxed into the vibes during dreams is that everything slowly turned into pure white light then i awoke to the physical. The vibes seem to "peter" out much quicker during the dream state. My biggest problem is that during dreams i am not aware that i am dreaming when i have vibes yet i am aware of what the vibes represent and i take the same action as i do when i have vibes in the physical. Its really bizzare. EV summed it up nicely by saying "In one context I was still wrapped within a dream scenario-at the same time I was also aware that my sleeping body was experiencing vibrations and possibly I could manage to maneuver an exit within the whole mess". Having vibrations is the only way ive ever experienced obes. Even when ive "stepped into" hypnagogic imagery the vibrations occured before doing so. I believe it may be because my mind is so gratefully and obsessively  focused on having vibratiions rather then intentionally avoiding them as i have in the past. My goal is to go ob without having vibrations as most people on this forum seem to do. Good luck!

@Illuman, first yes I definitely know my mother is ok, I had a experience with her, that cleared that up, but it still did not help my depression, see I been stuck in a rut in my life , where i'm not moving forward to nowhere no matter how hard I've tried to be positive. My dream has always been to help people but not in the conventional way people do it through being police , doctor  or firefighter, I always wanted to heal people ( like that Jesus fella), inspire them  save lives (vigilantism), I never gave up that childhood dream and don't plan on it, but the possibility has dwindled down, to Aya being my last chance to try to change myself from the inside.

I know I can't have the abilities of television heroes so I just  want to open up the abilities of my human mind, you know telepathy, telekinesis, all the kinesis's, but if I can't do that through Aya, i'm at least looking for a better outlook. I know I have to help myself before I can help others which is why this Aya thing is so important to me it can help me go within like no other thing like meditation can. sigh, I know I sound crazy atm, so I will just stop, no one really understands no matter how I go about it, this is the best I can put it. Also i'm not scared of  death otherwise I wouldn't have tried to commit suicide.

The experience with my mom: http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=112298

I dont think you are crazy and i know where you are coming from. Christ did say "ye shall do the same works and greater works shall ye do." But may i suggest not putting all your eggs in one basket? You cant give up simply because you havent achieved the abilities you seek....yet. Maybe this part of the process is you learning patience. Maybe its a longer process then you had thought. Given life is eternal what is your hurry? As long as you stay focused, what you desire to achieve is only a manifestation away. But....it may not be on your timeframe. That doesnt mean you give up. It means you will learn patience through experience. Good luck and dont give up. You seem like a good kid.

The focus models (Frank's and Monroe's) aren't meant to be taken literally... at least in my opinion.  Consciousness is unique to the experiencer, this is one major reason why "mapping" consciousness with such focus models is a fools errand.

If you become aware during your non-physical dream experience... you're projecting.  Don't worry about what subjective level of focus you're on.  Consciousness is consciousness.  There's no "collective" area vs "personal" area... consciousness is just consciousness.  When you find yourself aware, place your intent and go do whatever it is you want to do or experience.

Im not becoming aware ala a lucid dream. When i have vibrations during a dream i am aware of what the vibrations are and what i should do during them (project!)-yet i still believe the dream surroundings are "reality." I remember F. Kepple stating "It was very easy to experience focus 3 from a focus 2 state of consciousness.." Im not sure why you would consider the concept of focuses a "fools erand" but to each his own.

Ive noticed a difference between having vibrations and peeling yourself away from the physical body and phasing as in stepping into hypnagogic imagery where the scene is already in progress. When i peel away from the body during vibrations the environment is very similar to the physicals environment with minor differences. Are these the same focus levels as in Kepples focus 2?  Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to reply EV! Really appreciate it. My vibrations happen quite frequently and now that i know their potential they occur even more often because rather than ignore and avoid them i am always on the lookout for their markers to induce them more frequently. I have them during dreams as well which im hoping to be able to project from the dream to see what focus that leads me into. Im supposing Frank Kepples focus 3 maybe? Also-when vibrations do occur i never really try to "sweep them up and down" ala Monroe because they seem to have their own intent, which i trust in, so i simply thoughtlessly relax as much as possible. Just a few months ago during vibrations i heard a beautiful female voice say "let go" which i suspect was my cue i wasnt relaxing enough. During vibrations-usually within 30ish seconds i began to see thru my eyelids which i now know is my time to attempt projection. Lately ive been pulling my head out with my arms which seems to be working. Once my head is out my body seems to follow easily. I need to attemt the phasing techniques without relying solely on vibrations,  yet even when i do attempt the myriad techniques i always still have the vibrations. For instance you mention stepping into hypnagogic imagery. Ive done that as well but when the imagery turned 3d motion picture like my vibrations started before i stepped into it. So hopefully i can phase without the aid of the vibrations eventually. Even though i am a newbie at projecting i am very familiar with these vibrations which i am so grateful for.  This entire phenomenon seems to match up nicely with the "Seth" material which i totally believe in. Ok E. Have a great day and thanks again for the reply!

Hey Luffy
I also have sleep apnea which interferes with breathing while lying on my back. The only thing i do is turn my head left or right to open the passages better yet they still slightly close which isnt good when you try to hover at the sleep/wake state. As far as Radugas technique.....as soon as you awaken in the morning and remember you are trying to go ob, then simply relax enough as if you were trying to go back asleep BUT remain conscious. My problem with Radugas technique is i am usually unable to remember that i wanted to attemt an obe before its to late and i have awoken to much. You need to stay right at that sleep/wake line without awakening to much. When i am able to do this i get vibrations in which i am just recently learning exit texhniques. Good luck and keep trying!

Welcome to the Forum Rconrad!

The first 3 Boards have some dark blue 'stickies' that are worthwhile reading material, so be sure to poke around those for awhile. Then, if you have some specific questions or comments, there are plenty of answers, ideas and speculation that can be shared.

I've also had vibrations since the Seventies; it was Monroe's first book that clued me in to what they were. Now I realize that they were possibly one of several 'wake-up calls' or alarms set for me to kick-start my interest in the NP. Thinking back on the 'vibes' makes me realize it was like somebody ringing my doorbell for ten years or so, until I finally noticed and answered the door, Lol!

Happy travels!

Thanks EV. We must be close in age. Im 59. I sooooo wish id of read  Monroe decades ago as you say you did.Ive always thought i had a weird sleep disorder that was to be avoided even though i did have some bizzare obes that i chalked up as "dreams."  So a quick question. Do you exprience npr usually through vibrations or the phase methods? Probably both but which is your main go to method? Are you able to consciously make the vibes appear? How often do you have vibrations? Its great relating with like minded people because most people believe this phenomenon is crazy. Thanks!

I hope i dont sound ignorant but what do you mean by the "first three boards?" Thanks!

Right. I understand what phasing is/means but i was curious what was meant by the classical obe."? Thank you.

When you project do you go into the actual room you are projecting from or to an already established dream state or both? I ask because Fank Kepple seemed to say that when you project into the actual room you are projecting from, that is the Real time zone. Its obvioisly not because many things are different. So what is meant as the real time zone? That sounds more like remote viewing where consciousness is observing the physical from a distance. Could you explain the RTZ? Im really digging this whole new world thats opened up in which i wish id of discovered decades ago. Thank you.

I have about a zillion questions which i will stretch out vs. posting all at once. Many times my vibrations will occur within an actual dream which then instantly brings me to awarenesss. If i project from within the dream would it then be focus 3 of Frank Kepples model? Where the deceased are focused? Also-if i am having vibrations normally is there a technique to bypass focus 2 and go directly to focus 3? Thank you.

Ive had vibrations for decades and have recently become aware of their AP aspect. My biggest issue thus far is my girlfriend moves thru out the night interuppting my vibes. My vibes happen with "shifts" that start singularly then get closer and closer together until full blown vibrations. The shifts seem to be the edge of awake and rem sleep. It feels like my head swells momentarily which i can easily relax and turn into vibes. Anyway-i continue to have a difficult time exiting. I have easily rolled out before but many times my body will mostly come out but my cheek or whatever will still be glued to the physical. The past week ive been simply trying to "sit up" and that seems promising. Im starting to learn that if i first get my head out the body easily follows. Although i do remember my brief AP forrays my memory seems skewed as if dream memory. I need to engrain in my mind to remember the experience somehow. If anyone has vibrations with an excellent projection technique i would much appreciate it. Thank you.

When you state "i prefer phasing over the classical obe" is the classical obe the ones that consist of vibrations ?Thank you.

Ive experienced sleep paralysis- vibrations since 1978 and it has only recently come to my attention that i can experience obes during these vibrations. I still experience vibrations minus the paralysis to this day. Im anxious to learn more about this phenomenon thru this forum and explore non physical reality. Ive read most of the notable books and also Frank Kepples posts from this forum. I also read Xanths book/pamphlet (thanks!) I plan on buying a float tank this summer with hopes of inducing the ob state easier. Ive always believed the essence of existance is spelled out in the book "Seth Speaks." I wish i had read Monroes books back in 1978 instead of essentially avoiding these weekly vibrations i experience. My goal is to explore the NP at will which im confidant is everybodys goal on this forum. I look forward to guidance from some of the more accomplished obe'ers on this forum. Thanks for reading!
