Well done for totally misunderstanding my post.  I'm finished with this thread, I'm not going to argue with people like you at xmas.  Bye! [:P]

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Rope Question
December 23, 2003, 00:13:30
Use your mental hands.  Don't try to picture the rope, just imagine the feeling of climbing it.  I get better results by imagining that my body is really heavy so that it's a struggle to pull myself up, because I think it focuses attention more.

Also be aware that ROPE, whilst an extremely succesful method, won't necessarily work for you.  The ultimate aim is simply to focus your awareness outside your physical body.  Try the tactile imaging exercises mentioned in the OBE treatise too, like the one that involves placing yourself against the ceiling.

AP doesn't just happen overnight.  Keep at it, don't give up, and stay positive! [:)]

Wrong.  In fact, I'd go so far as to say crap.  By your reasoning, if a heterosexual has desires to have sex with someone of the opposite sex, but doesn't (in other words, doesn't have any sex at all) then that person is asexual?  That's a bit of a silly way to think, isn't it?

I'm going to say this one last time.  There is NO choice involved at all.  Even if I wanted to have sex with another man, I couldn't do it because frankly I'd feel ill.  Why?  Because I'm heterosexual, whether I like it or not!

It's great to finally find a bunch of people who spell Occam correctly! [:D]

As to the validity of videos like these, I like the attitude that the psipog site has, that the vids they put up are for inspirational purposes and that they don't expect to convince anyone of the 'proof' of it.

I see.  I suppose I'll better understand when I'm projecting myself.  When I'm projecting, not if. [:D]
#107
I'll tell you what I think is weird about this board - unless I've just missed it all.  If this board is where a lot of projectors hang around, where are all the stories?

I realise a lot must have been posted in the past, but I would imagine if it were me I would be posting all the damn time about my experiences!
#108
Yeah, that's all happened to me except for the noise thing too.  I can't imagine it would do you any harm though.  Next time, go with it and see what happens. And tell the rest of us !  [:)]

My homosexual friend would disagree with you, kakkarot.  He would do anything to be heterosexual if it were possible.  He never wanted to be gay, and it was very difficult for him to accept it when the realisation came.
#110
Yes, that does make sense.  Thanks!

As I understand it, if you consciously project on any kind of regular basis, then you probably have a well-developed Third Eye, which is conducive to all psychic activity according to Robert Bruce.

Dragen - I agree with you that the physical heart is definitely affected by projection attempts, at least for some people anyway, myself included.

However, as to whether this means it can be dangerous for people with heart conditions, I'm not so sure.  I don't think my heart is as healthy as it should be but I've never suffered any ill effects.  I'm sure that Robert Bruce would have made some mention of any such problems by now, too.  Lastly, in over 25 years of experimentation, Robert Monroe reported that no 'explorers' had ever suffered any ill effects whatsoever.

Ha, I'm gonna be way too drunk to project this xmas (if all goes to plan).

Glad you liked that Ulver song, m0d0 mate.  They have a song called Nowhere/Catastrophe - if you can get hold of that I think you will find the lyrics qute interesting.  In fact, get the whole Perdition City album, it's incredible!

Dragen, yeah, I don't use MSN as much as I'd like to but I usually sign on at least once a day.  I've spoken to m0d0 a few times, he is a nice guy isn't he? [:D]

I'm in the UK and I work nights, so I'm online at weird times.  I have a friend in New York who's usually online at the same times that I am, if that's any indication.

By the way, last Saturday night I dreamt that I projected.  What the hell does that mean?! [|)]
#116
Hehehe, you know Dragen, I was going to say the same thing!  The last time I got close, everything seemed to be going so well that I don't understand why I didn't project, so I'm also beginning to think I did it but didn't follow Bruce's advice.  I have always said, like you, that I would follow his advice and limit my first projection to less than a minute, but when it comes down to it who the hell would?

I recently got hold of Astral Dynamics too, it's an incredible book isn't it?  It's really made me re-evaluate my efforts, and I now intend to go back to basics, as it were, and start off with NEW and all that.

There's one thing I just have to say though.  I don't know if you remember, but in my last account of a projection attempt, I mentioned something suddenly 'flipping' in my head, my vision becoming bright, and a feeling of light-headedness.  Well, did you read about the strobe effect?  Bruce described this phenomenon perfectly and said it's an indication of strong natural clairvoyant ability! [:D]

I really hope he's right.  I couldn't care less about seeing into the future or any of that, all I care about is that clairvoyant ability is a requirement for ascending to the higher astral/mental planes whilst projecting.

By the way Dragen, mate - are you ever on MSN? [;)]

I don't project myself (yet), but you might like to know that Robert Bruce, too, says that facing North seems to help.  Only statistically, though.  He says that he has projected in every direction and on every day of the year, but certain things like direction, time of the lunar month etc have some sort of effect.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Astral Games!

If I recall correctly, one attack consisted of a marathon fight between Monroe and some figure that just appeared when he projected.  The other time he had encountered some strange rubbery creatures that kept trying to attach themselves to him.
#119
Obviously I'm careful who I tell, but I have let a few people know I'm 'into' all this.  My girlfriend knows, and I told a couple of my closest friends last weekend.  They were fascinated, and one of them was ever grateful to me for telling her what Robert Bruce says about breaking out of waking paralysis.

I've also told a couple of my closest friends on the Internet, and they're both seriously considering attempting to project.  If we all make it, Huwie will be a happy bunny indeed! [:)]

Robert Monroe was attacked by what you are referring to as negs in the RTZ.  According to his first book, visualising two charged wires being put into them helped.  Also, one time he broke down and cried for help, and a helper came and took the negs away.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Past Lifes
December 16, 2003, 10:50:45
Robert Monroe was able to find out about his past lives from some beings he befriended, but this was in a very high astral plane, one which according to Robert Bruce not many of us will see.

Other than that, have you considered regression by means of a hypnotist?

Sorry for my late reply, I've been away for a few days.

The OOBE.wav doesn't do much for me either (I love listening to it though), but when my friend tried it she got exit sensations very rapidly.  It must be different for everyone I suppose.  However, you might try a few trouble-shooting things I have read about.  Make sure your headphones are stereo obviously, try lowering the volume as you suggest, and apparently disabling hardware acceleration on your sound card might work too.
#123
I feel compelled to congratulate you, my friend!  That's clearly the closest you have got to projection so far.  It sounds to me like either your concentration just isn't quite there yet - in which case it will come, with practice - or something to do with your chakras.  Try spending more time stimulating them.  After a lot of practice with this, I can actually feel my base chakra sometimes, in just the way Bruce describes.

I never quite seem to get the paralysis myself (if you're not supposed to move a muscle though, how can you tell?), but I definitely feel a lot heavier and woozier afterwards.

I just tried too, and got closer than I have for a long time.  I was trying ROPE and it wasn't working, so I just returned to meditation, having pretty much given up.  I was probably on the borders of sleep, when suddenly something seemed to, er, 'flip' or something.  My vision (eyes still closed) changed and my head felt really light.  I immediately tried ROPE again and got so close!  I'm sure it'll happen with enough practice, for both me and you.  Just don't give up! "You claim homosexuals can control their sexual cravings, cant heteros control their sexual cravings?"

Good point!

Listen, my friend who is gay, the one I mentioned earlier, gets a lot of excrement for it.  If he could do anything to be straight, believe me he would.  There is no choice involved whatsoever.

Current scientific thinking - contrary to what some people have said in this thread - indicates that 100% heterosexuality is relatively rare in the animal kingdom.  Including Humans.
