This sounds like joke :D Nothing can happen to you - just relax and enjoy the projection.

Before I achieved my first OOBE I had been scared a lot, too. What helped me was attempting OOBE in the morning hours, when it's not so dark in the room. It is usually darkness that evokes our imagination and makes the fear grow.

I have a lot to say on the topic, because I myself did some experiments.

Depending on what you call "Astral," in LD you definitely can acquire new skills and influence your physical body. Few examples:

1. Once in LD, I learnt how to juggle with 3 balls. I simply slowed down the time, so I could easily figure out all the movements in slow motion. When I woke up, it took me just about a few minutes to figure it out. Of course, I didn't become a master of juggling, but I did learnt the basics of it in a dream.

2. Another time I got drunk with vodka in my LD and woke up feeling dizzy.

try it out, it's fun!

If you've never had an OOBE before, believe me - you won't mistake it with anything when it happens :) Usually BEFORE it happens you'll experience lots of bizarre sensations, such as vibrations, weird noises, etc.

I've always thought those two are the same thing...

So here's how my adventure with Astral Projection had started.

It was many years ago, when I was a kid. At that point I knew nothing about the subject and was generally skeptical about everything related to spirituality. Once, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep. I was laying down in my bed getting bored. Suddenly, I started hearing an interesting noise in my head - at first I thought it was a train passing by somewhere near my house, but then I realized that it must have been something else. It was getting louder and louder, which totally made me freak out. I tried to move, but I couldn't - my body was paralyzed. Then came vibrations, which felt like electricity running through my body. It all happened so fast, that I didn't even notice when I found myself levitating above my sleeping body. I saw myself from the above and at first didn't realize what I was seeing. Once I did, I panicked, as I thought I just died. I "woke up" from this bizarre experience the same moment and spent the rest of the night sitting on my bed with the lights on, hoping not to fall asleep.

Few years later I read about this kind of experience and thus my journey with Astral Projection began. I tried to repeat the experience, but it took me a while until I learnt how to do it.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Flying in a Lucid dream

I very often fly in my dreams. Almost every time it makes me realize that I'm in a dream.

This is interesting...Never had a dream that changes color. Very often the fact of something happening in a dream has much less of importance than how you feel about it. So, what were your emotions in the dream?

As many have said, I'm still now sure whether or not Lucid Dream equals OOBE. Some of my experiences would suggest that they are the same, while others would confirm the opposite.
