Does anyone else just get ticked off by the blatent materialism of the west?

Take Persinger for example, he doesn't care about love, God, or any of the finest things in life, he thinks we are just unconscious phenomena and everything is of the brain, and when we die we are gone.

I don't let it affect me, but I DETEST fools like him.

Western medicine seem to think that they do not exist, when they do. It is the same with energy work like Kundalini, when it is raised the brain transforms with loads of "antennas" sticking up, howcome western medicine has never studied a person with raised kundalini?

I think they should study reality first before they even start to think about disproving OBE's, NDE's and the like.

Regarding death – we can 'live on' without there being any afterlife. Such theories which suggest this look at the subjective nature of time. As ones brain nears death, subjective passage of time could grind to a near halt. So we might live 'forever' in a brain created environment (i.e. like an LD) in between the space of life and death. As the brain can seem to generate worlds, how would we know whether we are in a shared astral, or a self generated environment in a dying brain?

Would we be alive for eternity in that state so? Cos when a person is buried their brain rots, it is eventually gone, but could "you" survive that? (if that theory is true)

What is your preferred method?

As if the brain is completely understood yet, these findings can't get rid of stuff like psychics spotting OBE'ers far away, and etc.

If you have loads of free time, what would be an ideal way to fit and OBE timetable into this? Something like the "lazy person" way.

Welcome to the site perception

I'm sure you'll find much information here,

I say I was in theta as I couldn't feel my body, only if I intended to move it. It's weird aswell cos I get the sensation i'd have as if I was having a dream, but I was awake, and if I thought about something visually I would lose myself into it and completely lose awareness of my surroundings for a bit.

What do you think are some of the best trance sites Inguna? I don't want to run into one that wants to get my money :D

Can you term your question differently please.

Hi! I saw this spirit website where people post their stories, so i'm gonna post  mine here. If you want to comment on them you can. Here is the first one:

1) When I was around 14 me and my friend were playing some soccer outside the back garden and it was a misty night. I guess the mist has nothing to do with it, but it added to it. We got a creepy feeling out there from the atmosphere, but we played on still. Anyway eventually we left my place and we walked down the street. Where we walked you make a right and head straight down but there is a road to the right down that route aswell, it's a wide road with a footpath.

Anyway when we were walking down the street where the 2nd right is and I looked up. About 40ft away there was this dark entity. It must have been about 7ft tall and it had no real features. It seemed to have a cloak of some sort and it's shoulders were very wide, it was welt built up. There seemed to be mist around it and what looked like children around it. I stopped and looked and my friend looked too at the same time, he saw it too. We didn't know what it was. We were looking but it never came towards us. We left then.

2) The same friend, the house he lives in, his grandmother gave that to his mother when she died, but prior to her dying there were some experiences. My friends mam said when her and her mothers were sitting down in the living room they saw a black figure pass the doorway. Also my friend said when he was about 8 he was staying there and he heard loud laughter down the end of the hallway, but when he looked there was no one there.

This is interesting now. When his grandmother died at 1am at around 1.30  am a shadow figure appeared on his mothers bedroom wall. It had a hat on which would have been the same type her father would have worn in his hay-day, and there are none worn anymore. She said it appeared on the wall for around 10 seconds and disappeared. At 2am the police called to inform her of the death. Also before she died when my friend was in the hospital with here she was saying "what is Patrick doing here?", referring to her late husband. The same happened with my grandmother before she  passed away, she saw members of the family who had died before her, and I have personally heard other deathbed sightings aswell.

I was meditating today for an hour straight from a mp3 downloaded here (Boxed Nirvana II) and I kept random chatting out of my head, only the odd piece for a couple of seconds at most, and I ironed that out quickly.

Anyway, I was very relaxed, I say my body could have been alsleep, do you reckon I could have been in delta? How can you tell which state you are in?

Strange Case Of A Man With No Brain

By James Donahue

April 2005

An odd twist of research into the human brain was sparked some years ago at the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK, after a campus doctor treating a student for a minor ailment discovered that he had no brain.

As the story goes, the doctor noticed the student's head was a little larger than normal, and he referred the man to the late Professor John Lorber for further examination. When examined by CAT-scan, it was discovered that this man, a mathematics student with an IQ of 126, had virtually no brain at all.

Instead of two hemispheres filling the cranial cavity, some 4.5 centimeters deep, this student had less than one millimeter of cerebral tissue covering the top of his spinal column. His head was expanded because the student was suffering from hydrocephalus. That means the cerebrospinal fluid, instead of circulating around the brain and entering the bloodstream, becomes dammed up inside the skull.

Doctors say this condition is usually fatal during the first months of childhood, and if the individual survives, he or she is usually seriously handicapped. What was strange about this case was that the man was living a perfectly normal life and went on to gain an honors degree in mathematics.

The discovery led Professor Lorber to a study of the brain in which he projected the question, do humans need their brains at all? A better question might have been, do humans use any of their brains, and if they did, what more could they achieve in the course of their lives?

It apparently did not occur to either Lorber or other professors of the universities' neurology department to ask this important second question.

Just goes to show what kind of information humanity will keep on discovering. What do ye think are the implications?

i'm thinking of how all physics base their theory on the brain interpreting time-space. ie relativity with the optic nerce and quantum physics with what's you think is on the outside is what is being interpreted in your brain. Also with the binaural beats, they are based on lets say 60 hertz being applied to one ear and 50 hertz to another, and your brain creating a sound.

Guys, with that post I made at the top of the page, I was able to contact Professor Penrose and he stated he had no recollection of such a thing.

the noise sounded like a "pop" or something. It was nothing to do with spirits though, I heard it when "if you change your mind and don't want to study" was being said, though oddly enough the sound happened one time a couple of seconds later, and when I play that same time it wasn't there, so it is almost certainly something to do with my mp3 player or something.

The audio in the 3rd mp3 was better alright. Keep up the good work :)

HI Covelo, 1st off, thanks for asking my question :)

I downloaded some mp3's which where editedastral1 and editedastral3, do you have editedastral2? (BTW, there's an odd noise on editedastral3 from 3:10 to 3:13)

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Death

I'm sorry about posting this, but before I had an experience about if I was dead forever and ever and I started to cry and I almost had a panic attack, and when I think that thought the same feelings happen a small bit.

Like I though infinity is infinity, but if you are dead forever for "infinity", which is forever, infinity is just a part of infinity, which is just a part on infinity, and so on.

Still, I wonder: If your spirit were reconstructed after absolute death with the memory and structure intact, would you be the one existing as the new spirit? That question of ego always annoyed me, partly because I was raised with the belief that we're indestructible and despise the fact that we can die completely. But, if I'm right about reality working in frames, we're disappearing completely and reappearing a bazillion times per second, and surely there's a way to restore one's existence.

Is this in reference to our physical human bodies dying, or is it if our spirit bodies get burned up then the spirits body can restore it's existence after getting burned up?

Hi. I have been listening to the meditation mp3's (the sounds with the waves crashing etc) and I want to know what is required to enter these wonderful altered states of consciousness.

Is it just lying down, leaving your body relax itself, and the sounds will take your there, or is there more to it than that?
#120
OK, here is what I think.

If the subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between right and wrong, does that mean that the subconscious could have created Inguma's experiences, like obviously his conscious mind didn't want them.

I'm sorta basing that on quantum physics and it says consciousness creates reality, and like the subconscious could have created these experiences without you knowing, making them manifest in reality.

I am more than likely wrong :D Just wanted to get that off my mind. I am almost certain that you didn't create them Inguma.

In reference to what zareste posted, I doubt that is right cos your energy body is indestructible, and like there would be no way it could get erased. Plus you have your higher self, at a very high frequency, protecting you ;)

But it's weird, if what you posted is possible, then EVERYONE will have to die sometime, cos like eternity is eternity, all the possibilities in the universe have a time limit on them, and eternity is infinite, so therefore everything possible will eventually happen in time, it has to cos everything has to occur within eternity, including (if true) the burning up of spirits.

How can you tell if your in a theta state or not? Like when I listened to the meditating track "Inner Mind" after a couple of minutes I felt a pull between my eyes (3rd eye I assume) and my eyes something flicker a bit in that state, does that mean I am in deep theta state?

Also, can some very experienced meditators be in Delta state and still alert?

I read a book called Slim 4 Life and the author explaiined that the advertisers try to sell you happiness by portaying happy people while eating this junk food, and other means. You watch an ad once or twice, then you don't really consciously think when you see the ad again, ie you "turn off". This is when the ad registers in your subconscious. The book says your happiness comes from your subconsicious and it then think you can get happines from buying this sort of food. even though on a conscious level you now food doesn't bring happiness.

Also, junk food contains white sugar. This stuff goes straight through your stomach and into your blood stream in like 7 minutes. Because there is so much sugar, you'll die if your blood sugar level goes up or down a bit, the pancreas produces insulin to combat the amount of sugar, to regulate your blood sugar level. The release of insulin is the "high" you get when you eat junk food. Now, because there was no nutrition in the sugar (white sugar is PURE energy, it's has no nutrition at all) your blood sugar levels drop a fair bit (not to a fatal level)  and this registers as an empty feeling within you. This is almost the exact same feeling as real hunger, thus people think they are hungry again after eating junk food! The vicious cycle gets worse as more insulin is needed to regulate the blood sugar level. The author called white refined sugar the cocaine of the food world.

Hi, I am an overweight person by about 2 stone and I find it impossible to get rid of the many years of brainwashing and conditioning by ad's on tv and sugar cravings. I got a hypnotize book with a tape used them, along with much other stuff (not pills, etc mind you) and it didn't work, it feels like the conditioning by the ad's is so embedded in me it is literally impossible to get it out, I always get cravings when I see a food.

Are there many ways mentally to completely remove this, and for me to have control over my mind and put in positive stuff instead of highly negative?
