Welcome to Metaphysics! / 12/23/2012

I think some advances in technology are quite exciting, such as new energy sources, nano technology, and new scientific healing modalities. I think they could definitely be part of a new golden age. But they could exist just as strongly in a dark age. It's all in our individual attitudes. All of those things could be used positively or negatively, it all depends on the mindset of our governments (or perhaps some lone genius will discover cold fusion, then it's his mindset, but normally, the governments are the ones who have the people that are going to make these technological breakthroughs), and in a place where the people have a voice, their mindsets also. I just feel that the new golden age will be a melting pot of new spiritual awakenings spreading through the majority of the populous, new technologies, and perhaps some out side source helping us along (an energy wave, aliens, Mother Nature, magic returning to the Earth (that's from Shadowrun), etcetera). But the main thing has to be a change in the mindset of the majority of the people, because without that, we'll just have a world filled with better weapons. MJ-12, the only technology you mentioned that I don't like is the manipulation of the human genome, that feels "wrong" to me. Nature has a plan, and that's screwing with it, even if it means that babies will still be born with birth defects, I think it's worth it not go there, because they'll never stop at that. It'll be like Gattaca.  Ben

It was beyond great! I wish I had thought to raise energy like you did. Though, in a way, I guess I did, because I kind of soaked in the whole feel of the day, and I felt really energized, but a little conscious direction would have helped. I heard we might get more (or maybe snow here in Prescott) around Wednesday or Thursday.  Ben

Welcome to Metaphysics! / souls
April 08, 2002, 09:20:26
I feel that the soul is more than just what leaves your body when you die. I think that is all of your subtle bodies going down the line (astral, mental, buddhic,etc..). The soul is what's left when all the layers are peeled away. It's the part of us that is everything. On the good/evil issue, I really don't think either exist. Everything just "is". If we had no emotions and our bodies experienced no pain, things like rape and murder wouldn't be considered evil. It would just "be". And pain is really only our nerves reacting a certain way, it just is, it's not an evil thing. But all of that is on more of cosmic scale, which we don't realize most of the time down here. So, I think we have to use what we're given, and if a sense of good/evil is part of that, we might as well go with it, there's got to be some reason for it. I just think we need to realize that it is a subjective thing, everything in my mind screams out against what Hitler did, but at the same time, I know that his evil comes from my mind, it doesn't simply exist objectively, it's there because I'm a normal, caring human being with lots of stuff in my brain (including past-life memories and stuff) that predetermines alot of my beliefs and behavior. Most of this isn't coming out quite right, because I'm trying to express and feeling that really isn't in words in my head, or even set up in a logical order, so there's some faults in the translation.  Ben

Jo, I've been a vegetarian my entire life also, I've met plenty of vegetarians, but very few who haven't ever eaten meat. One time, I thought what my friend had were french fries, so I asked for one, they were some nasty chicken thing instead. I didn't swallow it, and to this day, it makes me want to barf. I've never tasted something that felt as "wrong" as that. I think there might be something to the whole eating meat, means eating bad energies kind of thing. Obviously some groups have done it right, the native americans used everything, and gave the proper respect to the animal's spirit. I just think in today's society, it's so easy to just go to the grocery that people don't actually think about what they're eating. People always say to me, "Well vegetables have to die for you to eat them, what about that?" They have a point of course, unless you eat only fruit, you can't eat without killing something. I don't think killing for food is wrong, I just wish there was more respect going around.  Ben

I've got to go with hearing a live performance of Pacobel's "Canon". Recorded versions still give me the shivers, but a live string performance brings me to some special place I can't describe well. Some parts of some of the songs on "The Miseducation of Lauren Hill" give me shivers, all of Vertical Horizon's do it, bare naked ladies "Live at Red Rock", Alicia Keys, and Jewel's 2nd and 3rd cds all bring me to a neat place if I listen to them with my headphones on. Most of them do it because of the memories and feelings I stored withing them, but there is certain notes in all of them that just spark something, but nothing like that live Canon. Ben

Pres Nevins, I like the idea of creating the feel of a dark room around you to make awareness hands easier. I don't feel awareness hands are neccesary for energy development, I just move the energy around like dido said, but it would be nice to have them for projection attempts. Also, it just struck me that you're from japan, dido's from italy, one dude is from the isle of man, I love how this page, and people's interest in Robert's stuff and metaphysics in general, is such a worldwide thing. It makes me all warm and fuzzy. Ben

Hi steppenwolf

I only get the warmth if I focus for a long time, which I don't do very often, because, like you, I want to get the rest of me more developed. For me, the crown feels like a few fingers are floating around, just inside the top of my skull, gently moving stuff around. I know Robert describes a time when he was in very deep meditation and his crown was fully active and it felt like a thousand fingers massaging his sclap, this feels like maybe four or five fingers. You know how you can make your hands tingly, just by focusing on with your sense of touch (no awareness hands or movement or anything, just a strong tactile focus)? Well, I just do that on my crown and it starts reacting pretty much right away. It might just be easy to do because I do the full body circuit alot, but I'm pretty sure it was easy when I first started NEW, so I guess it's natural. I wish all of my centers were that easy, my heart center, especially, has problems reacting to stimulation (except for projection attempts, it fires up during those).  Ben

No, I've only read about kundalini, I don't think my system is quite ready for that yet. I did mean it when I said concentrating on the bridge seemsed to light the fire up my brow, it feels warm and there is so many random sensations, it almost feels like it's on fire. But only on my brow, that center and my crown seem to be the most naturally active, I have balance the others for a long time before I even think of a kundalini awakening.  Ben

I think I read somewhere that the tip of the nose has something to do with a proper kundalini awakening. I think yoga people breath with their focus on the tip of their nose because it brings in more prana. All I know is that if I feel like making my brow all tingly, but I can't, all I have to do is focus on the tip and bridge of my nose, and it seems to light the fire all the way up and to the sides of my forehead. Maybe the tingles are following the sinus cavities.

Oh, it's a big karmic thing, yeah, I guess that a beating wouldn't do the trick then. That's too bad, because our primal instincts almost demand it in situations of such strong negative actions. Ben
#111
Hi

It seems like you almost know the person responsible for all of this (or at least the closest pawn). Could you just get a bunch of guys together and beat the crap out of him or her (normally, I'm strongly against hitting women, but hey, if she's attacking you psychically and making you rape your wife, all bets are off)? It just seems like the magical solutions might take longer and be less effective.  Ben

I've recently been having a bunch of dreams in which I have lots of orgasms. These aren't otherwise sexual dreams though, in the dream, I'll just be running through the woods, orgasming away (for some reason that's really funny right now). My guess is that it's either a buid up of sexual energy, since I have a girlfriend that I don't get to spend much time with, or it could be the succubi. If it is them, I don't really feel the need to get rid of them. I've only had about 4 of these dreams, they felt good, and my health has only improved, of anything. Perhaps if they got more attached they would have a stronger detrimental affect (sexual addiction, poor health, etc..), but I don't see a problem with an occasional visit.  Ben

I'm very interested in spirit entities, but I haven't cracked down to find what most of my natural abilities are. I seem to be good at the energy manipulation/sensing like you, and I've had different levels of clairvoyance and clairaudience (this one's pretty weak, very few actual words more of a pressure on my mind coming close to sound), and different levels of special sight. I do think that I'm good at getting a feel for things though, I wished I lived near you so I could see if I could help. Ben

In terms of psi. In the RB exorcism thread, you talk about the radionics devices and you use plural words (we, they) like there is a group of you capturing demons and building weird devices. It just made me wonder if you are part of some strange, experienced metaphysical group. Ben

I like to imagine that in the far-gone past, they had real mystical schools full of ancient books, and housing hundreds of hopeful metaphysical adepts. I t would the greatest thing in the world to be in a modern day version of that. It would be so nice to be in a place were your daily concerns all have to do with helping you and others move forward in your abilities (obviously there would still be relationship concerns and such, I just mean, no job, no school, no house you have to take care of, nothing but your inner journey and the day to day life around the center). The only thing wrong with it is that people have taken that idea, made it into some crazy cult thing and screwed up the whole idea.  Ben

Winged Wolf, I was wondering what you do, because you seem to have a higher level of knowledge than most of us.  Ben

You know the whole "a butterfly flaps it's wings near a flower, the flower spreads some pollen, which makes a caribou sneeze, which causes a stampede, which destroys a town,etc.." thing? Cause and effect, perhaps the demon's appearance has to do with that. It's effected all of us through this web page and perhaps a little thing like that could have HUGE consequences down the line, even on par with major natural disasters. It has to be something big, as Arulok said, otherwise he/she/it wouldn't do it. Granted, a possession by a world-class demon isn't exactly a butterfly flapping it's wings, but perhaps it could be compared to what it is trying to do.  Ben

What does lapidary mean? I also realized that I like the new-age crap in Sedona, which made me angry because I don't want to be this floaty, out-of-touch type person, though that seems to be part of my nature. Isn't it cool how much you can learn about yourself through random happenstance (I LOVE that word, I also like cantankerous, which I don't know how to spell, and mayhap)?

Andy

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend, I wasn't trying to attack your use of coffee, but more coffee itself. Which I know is silly, because it's just a plant, I guess maybe I mean the industry behind it. Also, my mom has been fully addicted to the stuff for my entire life, which has made me a little harsh in the matter. It's just such a stupid thing, she gets up in the morning and you can't even talk to her until has her first sip, that's BS. When my dad quit (actually he just drastically lowered the amount he had) he had horrible headaches for days. I just don't like how other bad things get attacked (cigarettes, alcohol (I know that a little beer or wine is actually good for you, I mean in excess), etc..) but coffee get's left alone, when it's just as addictive as them, if less harmful. I'm starting to understand that viewpoint you're talking about Andy, I still have alot of harsh viewpoints (though alomost none of them actually interfere with my daily life, I only think about them when they're brought up) but I notice that in me and I try to balance it all out, it's just kind of hard because you always have to be aware of what is going on inside your head. About turning into your parents, I'm pretty much already my mom in personality, so it doesn't worry me much. I guess we're supposed to take what we see in our parents, good and bad, hold the good, and make sure we don't do the bad, that way, each generation gets a little wiser. Otherwise, what's the point, they're just supposed to ensure our physical survival to keep the human race going? I feel that there's more to it than that. Wow, that was a fun little rant.  Ben

I believe you have the description down correctly, and I think your guess about stubborn blockages is probably correct. But maybe the problem with your hands isn't an energy blockage, part of it could just be your nerves in that area aren't as developed as in your legs or maybe that is just a hard area for your mind to bring about the proper feeeling. Or it could be a blockage, I don't know of course. I read this acupressure book, it was amazing, I cured my mom's hiccups in 5 seconds (you press lightly in the hollow behind your earlobe and breath deeply). Go get yourslef a treatment or get an acupressure book and try some stuff out, then you'll know for sure.  Ben

I've been to Sedona a few times, it has ALOT of touristy new-age crap, but beyond that, there is a magical feeling to the place, especially if you get out of the town and go for a hike among the rocks. Winged Wolf, I know that my grandmother found a little quartz cluster just walking around the neighbourhood, that's why I asked. Though the crystals were small, there were nice and pointy, so I guess with luck, you could find some just walking around. I don't like how they mine places to get crystals or how they break up geodes, I'd much rather keep a geode whole if I found one. I saw on the internet that they found a geode big enough to fit 8 people in, or somewhere around that number. Ben

I'm so glad that I never started drinking coffee. I'm fully awake in the morning (except for the first few minutes) and the only thing I need for that is a nice shower (or a head-dunk in a stream if I'm camping). It would suck to NEED something to focus your mind, I'd be so ticked at myself for relying on a stinking drug. I'm not sure about this, but I read somewhere that there's dozens of classified poisons in coffee. Can anyone verify this? I guess I should add something to keep this more on topic. I do like to listen to music to meditate, but I don't need it, it just feels nice. Actually the best seesions that I have are without music, now that I think of it, so I wonder if meditation aids not only make you depend on them but also limit the amount of progress you can make.   Ben

I was wondering what locations in the U.S. have those nice, clear, pointed quartz crystals just laying about on the ground. I'd really like to use crystals that I found in nature rather than bought in a store. I live in Prescott, AZ where there is plenty of quartz, but it's all the solid white, opaque kind. Thanks.  Ben

Blue light mystic, are you Astral Galaxy (aka Kim)?  Ben

If I try to make a lifting sensation in the back of my head, I get something that sounds similar. For me it's more a strong shock than a continuous rushing. It's kind of like a strobe (read Astral Dynamics if you don't know what I'm talking about) but in my neck and the back of my head. Also, if I focus on the top of my head I get that sensation that RB talks about where it feels like a bunch of fingers are rubbing my scalp. Maybe you just have a naturally strong crown center, it probably means good things if you plan on high level projection. Ben
