Welcome to Magic! / dark magic
July 21, 2005, 23:16:48
Really there is no "black" or "white" magic, only magic.  So of course you can use it for positive things!  :P

All too many people get hung up on having to create all too many labels for things.  MAGIC is MAGIC.

What makes you think that none of your reiki works?  And that your psychic abilities are so poor that you need someone else to "attune you" so that they work?

Perhaps you are just trying too hard?  Most often, and especially when beginning down the road of spiritual/psychic awakening, the signs are much more subtle than we would like.  We aren't all John Edwards over night!  It takes years of practice and dedication to be that good.

Perhaps you just need to stop looking for the giant signposts and start looking at the little insignificant signals?  When we start recognising the small stuff, and acknowledge it, this strengthens our connection with spirit, and they start giving us more and more, and it becomes more obvious to us.

I am not trying to be mean and nasty, it is just all too often I see and meet people who are so busy telling me all they cannot see or cannot do, that they don't see what they are capable of.  And it takes an outsider to point out their special gifts that they have, which they have overlooked.

Welcome to Healing discussions! / Heal a wart?

I have always used, 'I', with affirmations, as this is sending a message to the subconscious that this is already happened within yourself.  If you use 'you' you are referring to some third person, not yourself.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Are Angels Guides??
July 20, 2005, 11:42:05
Just curious for other peoples opinions on this one.  I have met and worked with many a spirit guide, and have friends who do the same.  But I was recently asked if angels are spirit guides too, or if they have some separate purpose of their own?

Was wondering what others thought?  I'll save my current thoughts till there is some feedback.

Yes, there is another chakra which is situated above the crown, and it sounds to me like this is what you saw.  :P

I don't know how much you know about the aura, but there are actually several layers to it, not just one.  It incorporates the physical auric body, the etheric auric body, vital auric body, astral auric body, lower mental auric body, higher mental auric body and spiritual auric body.  Each layer of aura can be viewed separately, and often look a little different (i.e they aren't all just a mix of colours, like most people percieve the aura to be).

It sounds like you were viewing the vital auric body - but some extra questions are in order to clarify this.  Was this purple layer an obvious egg-shape, or did it more contour around the shape of your body?  Did it extend over this extra chakra you mentioned, or was it below it?

OK, here's my feelings on this:   :o

I feel that this is a little girl who has past life connection to you.  I feel that you and her were brother and sister in a past life, and I feel like it was a recent past life, like maybe your one before this.

I am getting the name 'Jessica', and you were her older brother in the past.  You looked out for her and protected her in that life.  You were like best friends.  In this life, she chooses to come and look out for you.  It is like repaying the favor.  She has been with you most of this life.  I feel she was going to come through as an older sister to you, but ended up being a miscarriage, and instead is around you in spirit.

She visits you in your dreams.  You can call on her consciously for help, when you don't feel safe.

Reincarnation - "the ultimate universal recycling system"  :P

The coming back thing might be compulsory, but the whole when, where and how bit I think you have a bit of choice in.  If they want to wander around in the astral for 100years before they come back, then why not?  Maybe they have things to learn there before they come back?

That's just my thinking anyway....anyone else?

If they have crystals, they may well have the sage or incense that you are after, so yes there is nothing wrong with trying that.

You can have the priest bless the house if you want to, there is never any harm in that.  At the very least if you think it will make you feel better, then why not?

Cleaning up the house - I mean physically cleaning up, getting rid of all the stuff you don't use, etc, will probably also help.  This helps the positive energy to move through the building far more easily.

Keep well! :)

Good point Frank, about clockwise being a good starting point.

I was exactly the same when I first began too - with not worrying about turning them any direction at all, but rather being focused on the colour.  I have always found that this works to energise the center.

Also, another method I have used, which seems to work quite well, is visualising a flower opening up, rather than the whole spinning sphere thing. :P

Greetings Pheonix!  :D

Well, you seem to have a lot of fears, and really I am not surprised after sitting here myself reading through old posts. :?

I would like to tell you that I have been meditating and the like for over 10 years.  I have a natural psychic gift which I've been aware of most of my life.  Personally, I don't come across all this negative stuff.  I meet people who have troubles, and I help them, but I have never had a huge scary experience which has made me go "hmm, maybe I should stop doing this".

I think that if you approach things with an attitude of love, of wanting to help, of looking for good, then you won't have anything to worry about.  If you sit there and worry yourself silly over what may happen, then I wouldn't bother going any further with it.  Leave the fear behind and you'll be right.

Hope that this is of some help to you.  I do honestly understand where you are coming from.

Light and love,
W.O.L

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Angels.
July 15, 2005, 07:17:59
What a wonderful idea for a thread!  Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences.  I love reading about this type of thing!

I've had a few angel appearances myself.  One that stands out to me, was the classic-type situation you see on the movies.  When I was much younger, in primary school, I used to pray in church on an almost daily basis.  I remember going to this beautiful old stone church, and sitting upstairs where the stained glass windows looked the prettiest.  I would pray for something like 30 minutes at a time.

One time, it was a beautiful sunny day, and the colours where streaming through the windows and across the church.  I was just gazing at the colours, almost ready to leave, when a beautiful woman appeared to me.  She had the most glorious white and gold aura about her.  I think she spoke to me, although I cannot remember what was said now.  Her beauty was breathtaking and that image is what stuck with me.

Yes, I'd love to see the photo! :P

I agree Kitsune, I feel that maybe this little girl is trying to help as well.

Ganamoha, have you tried doing anything about the shadows, etc??

I don't think I'd be putting up with it all...

Greetings again Flip,

If things are settling down now that is great!  I would still do the house cleanse - you can usually collect what you need from a new age/occult-type specialty shop.

As I said before, focus on the good things in your life, and try to keep focus off this stuff.

Remember, you can surround yourself with white or golden light at any time you feel the need.  Same goes for calling on your guides, angels or any higher power that you feel comfortable with.  They are always there to help.

Do keep us updated.  Blessings to you through this time.

Greetings Katrina,

Welcome to the forum!  Your English is pretty good, I can understand you and that is the main thing!

Sorry, but I can't help you with your green skinned organism.  I've never seen anything like that before myself.  You might want to try and post that in a different section, as you may get better results.

Anyway, once again, welcome!

Welcome to Healing discussions! / Heal a wart?
July 15, 2005, 01:15:20
According to some books i have, a wart is supposed to occur if you have a built up of emotions, and particularly the emotions of inadequacy and unworthiness.

One book suggests an affirmation you could try...

I am the love and the beauty of life in full expression

Welcome to Magic! / A scary realisation...

That is the problem with the shows of today - they reinforce the horrible lies that the Catholic church started many many years ago.

If you do some research of your own, you will find that the pentagram is actually a very old symbol for protection.  It is meant to have one single point facing upwards and it's five points symbolise earth, air, fire, water and spirit.

It has been some "satanist" movements that turned the pentagram upside down to represent the two horns of satan, and become known as a symbol for satan.

Television has emphasised this, by using the pentagram in their movies and shows that have evil demons, nasty witches, and all kinds of horror, running around with pentagrams as a sign of their allegiance to satan and all that is evil.  It disgusts me when I see this, but it is not the first or last time that symbols which are actually perfectly good, have been taken and twisted to represent something heinous.  Did you know that the swaststika, the symbol that was used by Hitler, is an ancient symbol of beneficial cosmic power?  But what do people know it for?

Bloodsong is correct about the Horned God.  It was a Pagan representation of the God.  It actually existed before the Catholic church made it big.  When the Catholic Church wanted to stop people practicing Paganism, they started taking over the Pagan days of celebration with their own, and they also turned the Pagan God (or Horned God) into what is now known as the Devil.  This was to put the fear of God into any who revered him - and ultimately scare them away.

Sounds to me, Pheonix, like they are still having success with that one...

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Money for your Gift
July 14, 2005, 23:19:15
Thank you all for your replies,

I find it a really interesting topic, as I see people in my life who struggle with whether or not to charge for their services.  I even have one friend who was doing free angel card readings on the internet, and was doing so many that she nearly burnt herself out!

I do encourage my friends to charge for their service - they are worth it, (I am surrounded by many gifted individuals).  I myself charge for my services, although I do freebies as well, depending on the circumstances.  I still struggle with the whole being paid issue, myself at times, although I know that if I had to work another full time job as well as do this for nothing, I would be too exhausted to be able to do very much of this work.

Also, this is what I am gifted at doing  , just like there are gifted painters, architects, writers, accountants, etc.  Why should one person be paid for something they are gifted at, and not the other?  What makes that fair?

Please feel free to add your comments!

Welcome to Magic! / Arcane Balance
July 14, 2005, 22:51:32
I have not heard it called this, but this does make sense.  If you are not careful where you called the rain from, you could cause a drought or dry spell.  You could, however, always be specific.

I know someone that moved a particularly bad storm away from their local airport, as a friend was due to land that day.  But they didn't worry about where they moved the storm to.  Consequently, the storm happened to move to where they interfered with the flight being able to take off from the original airport!  The flight was delayed, etc, etc.

When you do this kind of work, you need to take responsibility for what you do.  You can't go changing the weather (for instance) and not expect that it is going to have a noticeable effect somewhere else.

What is that saying "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."  I'm not sure that it is quite as extreme as this saying makes out, however I do know that we take a lot of responsibility on our shoulders when we take on such work.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Self Control
July 14, 2005, 22:30:50
Meditation is wonderful, but does take time for the effects to kind of "build up".

I would also recommend allowing yourself to experience the emotion - say you are truly furious with gran.  Walk away to another room, but rather than stifling that emotion so you won't throttle her, close your eyes, allow yourself to feel the anger (what physical sensations it brings out in you, etc) and then hold that emotion for a moment.  Take a deep breathe and appreciate that this emotion is there for a reason, to make you aware of something.  Don't then get cranky at yourself for being mad, as this is part of the physical human experience.  I like to tell myself, "OK, I've experienced mad now today, I need to experience laughter (or excitement, or whatever), to balance my day!"

You may think I'm crazy but this does work! :)

I don't see why you couldn't use this if something happens.  If, when you say it, you feel protected and safer, then definitely!

There really are no straight and strict rules in psychic protection.  You need to use what works for you.  If this feels right, use it! :D

Hi Flip,

James has given some good advice, I'd just like to add a few things to it!

One of the first things is (as James said) relax, stop worrying.  This stuff does seem scary and weird and horrible at the time, but you need to remember that NOTHING CAN HARM YOU OR YOUR FAMILY.  Fear only feeds these things, so there's no point being frightened.  Keep focused on things like the love you have for your family.

Yes, spirits can decide to follow us, they may decide they like your energy, or may have seen that your brother was aware of him and so followed him home.

Next thing is to clear your house.  There are a few options here, but I'll post my suggestions.  I use a sage stick the most for any clearings that I do, however there are other options (James is right, it does smell like pot).  These are:
* 'dragons blood', which you can get in an incense stick form or in the resin form and burn over a charcoal disk.
* 'frankincense' or 'sandalwood', which you can get in an incense stick or aromatherapy oil or powder/chip version to burn over a charcoal disk.

You need to go right through your house, starting at the front door, and paying attention to all the corners in each room and the windows and doors.  Announce out loud that anything not of the highest intentions/of love and light (or something along these lines) is commanded to leave immediately.  As you walk with your chosen clearing agent, visualise white light filling the whole house.  You should finish up at the front door again.  Oh, and you may like to call on a higher power (god, angels, guides, etc) to assist you in doing this.

If you can, have each member of your house visualise white or golden light coming down from the heavens and surrounding themselves in a bubble of white or golden light.  This will increase their own personal protection.

There are also some good crystals you may like to place around the house, to help keep the energies clear.  Amethyst clusters are good for this, and black tourmaline is very good as well.  They don't have to be huge pieces or anything expensive, and are probably best placed in the room(s) that are frequented the most.

Hope that this has been of some value.  I'm more than happy to answer any more questions relating to this, and wish you much success!

Quote: "Ever since I started trying to AP, I've been getting weird heartburn, and wake up from at least 10 hours of sleep, and still feel too tired to move."

Do you mean ever since you very first began to AP?  Or just since this particular experience?

What other energy work do you do other than AP?
#124
In my experience with chakras, they don't all spin the same way.  They seem to vary from chakra to chakra and person to person.  I always rely on my intuition to tell me which way each one is spinning.

Has anyone else found this to be true?
#125
Maybe it was a sign to encourage you in this pursuit?  You never know, you may find that it is something you are very naturally gifted at!
