Well, *some* people believe that the government has certain "psychic" defenses setup so an etheric traveler can't enter that particular area.

Lol, I remember the first time I got vibes - I thought I was being possessed :X
I read about the vibes long before I had my first experience with them.
They were so nice and toasty warm... hehe

I don't think that was an OBE...
It sounds like you were physically awake at the time.
Did you feel like you were "out" of your body?
Did you manage to catch a glance back at your bed?
Hearing the "very loud voice" is kinda strange though... which kinda alludes to hypnopompic sights/sounds.

Colour is simply light of a differing wavelengths... at least that's what science tells us.

Black is the absence of light.
White is the presence of light.

Between those two poles... one could say is an infinite spectrum of colours.

Then between those two poles is light we can not see with our human eyes.
Wavelengths could even extend beyond that!  How far beyond?  We probably don't know yet.
So yeah, how deep does the rabbit hole go?   :)

Ok, Ok thank you everybody who has posted hear. I have officially gotten over my fears. Life's too short, live it to the fullest. I'm not going to let some little entity (that i can stop) ruin my projections, And as said above, why be afraid from freedom... I just need a good way to get out of my body, what am i supposed to do when my hands start tingling? Not the crazy vibrations just the tingling and numbness and stuff. I've heard of most all of the techniques, which one is the most effective and when do i do it?
hehe goodstuff ;)

Well, personally, I just relax, ignore the 'tingling' and let it do its own thing.  :)

I was also wondering, can hallucinogenic drugs like cannabis, shrooms, and salivia induce an OOBE, or atleast help?
Some people will say yes...
Some people will say no...

I say don't bother, because you'll never know if the experience you're having is caused by your or the drugs.

It's definitely one of the many theories out there.
As for myself, I'm not exactly sure which I believe.  :)
#10908
Intention!
Oh yes, definitely.
If you don't give yourself some kind of goal or intent towards your projection... you're most likely going to waste the time out and get sucked back into your body before you've had a chance to form an actual coherent thought.

My main goals, for instance, include meeting my spirit guide, visiting the akashic records and going to stonehenge.  :)
Now, my problem lies in what order to do those in!  LOL

Could you further explain/describe the "total darkness"?
Would you describe it as a 3D darkness?

I still fear the unknown.Let me explain fully. I don't know how it's going to feel like. how overwhelming it's going to be. What/who am i going to meet. If somehow i come face to face with the devil or something that's going to scar me for life. I wanna project so bad you don't even know. I read all these stories about people getting out and going through wild adventures like nothing happened . People are just like, " On my first projection i went to outer space and met an alien" or something. How do you remain calm? how is it so casual for people?I know though nothing can hurt you. Will a spiritual guide help me?

So basically the thought of being outside of my body as some ghostly material in a dimension where everything is possible is my fear. Oh yeah, and vibrations.
How can absolute freedom be the source for fear?  :)

You mention that you know that "nothing can hurt you"... yet it really doesn't sound like you *believe* it.

We can tell you over and over that this is the truth, but until you experience it for yourself, it's kinda meaningless.

Remember, the unknown is only unknown until you go there... in this case though, you ARE allowed to take baby steps.  :)
Put a toe into the water to test it first... see what happens.

When you say that it "feels like a heart attack"... do you mean that you're experiencing what feels like your heart beating a million times a minute?
If so, then you should know that that's relatively normal and it's not even your real heart supposedly beating, it's your heart chakra.

Hemi-sync and similar technologies are just tools.
Any tool can become a crutch if relied upon too long.
Always try to remove your tools once in a while to keep things fresh.  :)

Quote from: soulslasher6 on June 29, 2009, 13:50:12I remember reading this one story about a guy that astral projected when he was like 5 and got lost.  Some elders found him and locked his astral abilities.
A story can sometimes be just a story.  :)

QuoteAnyway, when you are separating from the body what do you see???not when you are separated but after the vibrations and you start lifting and stuff.
Between not separating and separating?
It depends really... depends upon where you're projecting to and if you're actually able to see at that point.

i dont know.. i think im having a problem just letting myself go .. how long to the vibrations last for? and what do i do then?
It sounds like you're trying to over analyze everything.  :)

How long do the vibrations last for?  However long they need to.
What do I do then?  Whatever you want.

Sure, there are specific techniques you could get into to project... you can find techniques for that all over this website, and if you're in a pinch, use google too... but for the most part just go with the flow.
Lose your expectations and just let whatever happen to happen.

... and sometimes a cake is just a cake.  :)

Hypnagogic imagery.
To project there's a phase of falling asleep that one needs to go through first.
This is called the Hypnagogic phase... this is when your senses will be randomly bombarded with stuff.
You could see random scenes or objects... hear random things... sense stuff around you.
It's perfectly normal, just try not to get 'sucked into' the scene.  If that happens, you'll more than likely just end up in a dream.  :)

I'd highly suggest trying to figure it out on your own first.
Google is a good place to start.

I'll point you in the general direction though... look up Robert Munroe.  :)
#10919
Why do you think you're not ready?

Oh ... and as an etiquette thing, you might not want to use all caps in your subject lines.  :)
#10920
Nobody can really objectively describe it accurately... unfortunately.
It's really something you have to experience for yourself.  :)

Any music that makes *YOU* feel warm and happy will only do good things.

I'm not quite sure what's up with spirit guides, but who are they? How/when exactly can they help me during and after ap? Jw, cuz i'm wishing someone would help me experience my first conscience obe. Could i even call out one of you on this forum to come help me??
Nobody can really "help" you in that sense...
The only kind of help we can provide come in the form of tips and techniques which you can use to help yourself out.  :)

I've always wanted to project to Stonehenge... I've never been there in person and projecting would give me a small way to travel and view the places on Earth which I've always wanted to see.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here... but!
www.bwgen.com

That's the Brainwave Generator created by Robert Bruce and Brian Mercer.
It comes with pre-set binaural beat programs that you can save to a WAV file, which you can then convert to MP3.
Or you can set up your own binaural beats and do the same.

I find it easier to meditate with the white noise of the music in the background... knocks out any of those intruding sounds that might otherwise interrupt me.
The music I listen to is mostly of a New Age sort though... very relaxing.  :)
