PS

All you doom-mongers out there should like the  Rings saga, its quite apocalyptic

As the corrupted wizard Saruman says,  'There will be no dawn... for men!'

(sounds like some of the posts to this forum!)

Agreed, for me 2001, 2002 and 2003 have been/is/will be fantastic because it is at the end of each of these years that each instalment of The Lord of the Rings comes out!

Hehe...

Of course I will always prefer the books but the films are an excellent movie adaption...... The Two Towers -  December the 19th.
Now there's one prediction I think should be fairly reliable for once..... This film will be GOOOOOD!

DMT has been synthisised and can be injested in this form in any of the usual ways.
DMT is aparantly the most hallucinogenic substance known to man.
It is found natuarly in certain plants etc. Shamens use it to induce visions.
It was very hard to get hold of in the early days however but in recent years the drugh has been succesefuly synthisised.

The man to go to to find out all about DMT is DMT lord Terrence McKenna.
He spent years experimenting with DMT. The great thing about DMT is that although it whacks out your mind to beyond the furthest reaches of unreality the intense trip only lasts for about 15 minutes or so. There are no residual effects afterwards either.
As Terrence himself says when giving advice about taking DMT, 'just remember to keep breathing!'

You can read all about his acounts of meeting his famous 'machine elves' and other weirdness in his books!

you can also count on the fact that this time next year myself or someone else will post in to reply to the latest batch of 'funny feelings' about the following year, and as usual will be ignored!

I really cant be bothered by all these tedious 'the end is nigh' predictions and 'feelings' about such and such a year! We get this EVERY year!

I think I might go mad if I hear another person going on about how they have funny feelings about this/next year/whatever.

Christians and western culture generaly, steeped as it is in christian apocalyptic mythology/tradition is particularily suseptable to this kind of irrationality.

What you find though (time and time again!) is that when the proposed year passes and the world is stil there, the feelings/predictions move on to ANOTHER year! You think that people would have learned by now you think? Especially after all the milennium fiasco which resulted in (of course) nothing!

Apologies for anyone offended by my slightly cynical attitude to all this but I have heard this all before for years!

Douglas

Hi There!
I can fully appreciate the time you have spent with this.
In my case I have been trying to get an obe since my first attempt when I was 13.
At this age I developed an interest  in Astral Projection, got a book and practiced..... well, I got a success FIRST TIME!
unfortunatly I freaked and aborted at the last minute before exit.
Ever since then I got AP symptoms and exit sensations which I constantly suppressed for years until I eventially learned to conquer my fear by - yes you guessed it.. coming to this forum. I have sinced had several good oobes and now have no fear of AP.
Now instead of thinking that I shot myself in the foot by messing with AP when I was younger and perhaps not ready for it, I am now glad, because if I didnt get on board back then perhaps I would have never developed an interest in AP. I wouldnt want to be without it now!

Knowing what I know now, seeing the world without being aware of the astral seems a fairly blinkered perception!

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you have certainly come to the right place, with lots of friendly people like yourself, all at varying levels of projection development.... Welcome!

Regards,
Douglas

I also make sure that I'm not rushing anything. A lot of us (meaning me!) tend to get out and start thinking, "YES! I'm OUT! Now let me hurry up and get some sight before the experience ends!"

Jeff - That is EXACTLY what I do EVERY time I'm out!
This must be where I'm going wrong!

I must try to ingraine this in my mind for the next time it happens because as I said earlier, it is easy for me to say 'ok this is what I'll do next time' but often the clarity issue gets in the way because I won't remember this when I'm actually out.
However if I try to ingraine it into my mind  then perhaps a light might go on next time I'm out and I won't just run for the window like a sucidal lemming!

Cheers Jeff

MEG, do you find that often you just wake up in the middle of the night with the astral vibrations going on?

That is what usually hapens with me, then I take it from there!

Douglas

#1185
Thanks for the info James, I'll try and see if I can 'hear' anything during the day.

Meg - The window is a problem, it seems that as soon as I go through it I return to my body, I'm not sure what's going on there.
All I know is that everytime I project I have this overriding impulse to fly through the window.
I have realised that my bedroom window is closer to my bed than the door so for this reason I get pulled back in.

The thing is, although it seems quite clear what to do right now, when I actually project my clarity is not always that good and all I can usually think of is diving out the window!
Jeff Mash suggests ASKING for clarity when you're out but again this is based on the assumption that you are able to think of this at the time, maybe with more attempts things will be clearer.

All the best with you and your guide... you're doing amazingly well!

Douglas

Well, nothing to report from last night.
I was expecting a contact again tonight as the woman identified as my guide said she would contact me again the following night.
so last night I done the usual affirmation and went to sleep, but as far as I know nothing happened, or if it did I dont remember.

Oh well, I'm not to worried about it.
I only just started with this and got a result on the second night so I shouldnt complain. Many people say that it can take a while before you get any result.

I think that a while ago I would have been slightly disilusioned that the guide didnt contact me again when she said she would but as I have learned more about this, I have found out that it is as hard for them to contact US as it is for us to contact them.
They have to try to find a  way through all the mental crud we accumulate to get a message through.
Obviously last night, on the planned meeting, there was too much mental 'interference' going on. I won't let this worry me. If it was possible to make contact once, then at some point the conditions will be right again,
I've got plenty time, I'm still a bit disapointed though that the planed meeting did not go ahead!

Still, I DID get another spontanious RT projection through, I appeared in the living room, the furthest yet!
However, I still got pulled back as I tried to make a dive for the window!Maybe I should stop doing that!

Till later,
Douglas

Hello everyone!
This all makes for very interesting reading,
I have absolutly no experience of using Monroe's techniques, this thread is my first experience of them, I have always concentrated on projecting into the RT zone rather than phazing into the astral proper.

I think that I should switch to this second method for two reasons:

1) a much better, more rewarding experience will result from being on the astral as the physical is not really that interesting when oob, we can explore all the wonders of the physical during the day while in our bodies!

2) I have had several experiences of waking up from a dream state and finding myself viewing the 'astral cinema screen' effect, this happens fairly frequently.
When I was reading your descriptions I recognised this right away!
Sometimes I'll wake up (lucid) and see a square 'screen' in front of me containing some scene that is absolutly vivid and real. I don't ever do anything about it though, I just watch it until it disolves and I physically 'wake up'.

From reading your posts I should maybe think about stepping into those scenes as they appear to be astral portals!
Does this mean that in these situations I am lucky enough to become aware at monroe's focus 12 level or something?

Anyway,
Thanks for the interesting post, I think I'll look out monroe's material and check it out!

Douglas

Hi Meg!
Sounds like your doing great, your experiments with auto-writing have really paid off! I have not really had much more success with it, I think I'm just getting more ramblings from my subconcious.

My new plan is to try to make contact with my spirit guide during sleep ie  make an asssertion before going to sleep that I want to contact my spirit guide PLUS be able to remember it!

I've tried it a couple of times in the past without succes, but someone was saying earlier that you have to do this for a while, kind of make it a little ritual before you go to sleep at night, eventially something will happen (hopefully!)

Anyway you are flying miles ahead!

All the best!
Douglas

Thats right Meg,
Minerva is the daughter of Jupiter and Juno, and is the Roman equivilent of the Greek Athena.
Minerva is the patron goddess of victory, greatness (roman virtues), arts, poetry and excellence.

I suspect the spirit that wants to channel through you has chosen this name for herself as she thinks of herself as a great poet perhaps!

Well, you'll be able to judge for yourself soon enough hopefully!

Douglas

Look Frank, (and anyone ese interested)
there's no need to go to extreme monkinsh measures here of abstaining from any form of alchohol etc.

It's simply a case of 'everything in moderation', simple.
There's nothing wrong with enjoying a 'wee dram' as we say here in Scotland, just don't go overboard.
Incidentally, concerning drinks effect of AP, My most recent projection was when I was lying on the bed after drinking a wee bit to much, (so there!)

There's nothing wrong with the 'earthly pleasures' but just like everything else, its just a question of balance!

Douglas

Hi Tom,
What I mean is get some reiki healing done on me.

I've tried the grounding but it hasnt made any difference.

Someone was suggesting negs (again!) but to be honest, I don't buy into all that neg crap!

Here are the results of my first sessionwith auto-writing, using the keyboard.

I just relaxed my mind totaly and let the words come to me.

I don't know yet if this is an actual dialoque with any sort of guide or if it is simply me having a dialogue with my subconcious mind and imagination.

Of course as others will tell you, the astral is just on the other end of your imagination so if you keep listening to the messages coming through eventially they will become clearer and clearer until you are in no doubt that it IS a guide.
For now, I think that my dialogue below is more of a subconcious dialogue with myself, but you never know, its certainly a good start.
See what you think of it anyway:

This is what I wrote:

Start of session.
-----------------------------------------
I would like to make contact with a genuine spirit guide who genuinely wants to help me!

Keep up the good work abstract

Goodness comes from being concerned with peoples affairs

Do you have  a name for me?

I have a name godon Gordon

Is it Gordon?

Yes

Where are you from

Petrograd in Russia

1760
whats your second name?
Philistroykias

Are you my spirit guide?
Yes I am that.

Any advice?

Allow yourself to flow with the words and keep to the path of rightiosness in all things do not allow your mind to wander and never cease to wonder with amazement at the world around you trust in yourself and in god  never feel that you must progress in order to have fun let it happen then you will find peace and good will in all things, I am here to help you in this.

Do you have advice for my tiredness related problems?

Yes do what is prescribed by your doctor,

What doctor?

Will reiki help?

No it will not you need to deal with fear to progress

You mean astral projection?

Yes you must do this only then will your mind be free to progress on the astral realms which is what you want is it not?

YES

Which is better, pen and paper or the computer?

Pen and paper as I prefer to write

Is your name Philip? I need to clarify your name, it's not clear?

Gordon philipos
Gordon phillipos is my name take it or leave it!
Ok,

That's all for now, thanks for advice!

No problem any time keep trying, peace with you relax and enjoy life a bit more than you have in the past now you understand me a bit more good luck

------------------------------------
End of session.

Well, not bad for a first attempt. I will stick with this one and see if there's any progress, as I say, I cant really say for now whether it is a subconcious dialogue or somthing more, only further sessions will be able to verify this! I have no doubt though that with practice I will make contact for sure at some point as I have done in the past using the ouji method.

Cheers,
Douglas

I just thought of an interesting variation of auto writing, how about instead of pen and paper, what about the keyboard and moniter.
Just type what pops into your mind and see where it leads you!
I'm sure it would lead to some results!

Mind you, I suppose you would miss out on the different handwriting styles that spirits can manifest through you, like what Meg has found. It would be a shame to miss out on that.

Still, I might try it as an alternative method!

Douglas

#1194
Hi Meg, you're getting some great results there, keep up the good work!
Basically, I would try not to worry about negative people/spirits. I have done some experiments in the past with ouja boards etc (although NOT automatic writing yet).
With these methods, you will always occasionaly attract a negative influence, but all they're trying to do is scare you. Dont be, just tell them your not interested and end the session, they will eventially get bored. You will quite soon be able to tel the difeence between a spirit who is genuine and another who is mucking about.
As soon as I hear someone claiming to be Satan though, I cant help but yawn, that's a typical attempt to try to provoke some fear, just ignore it.
Satan....um ok, of course you are!

People who let themselves get scared by crap statements like 'I AM SATAN' etc leads to all the hysteria surounding ouija boards etc. Really it just takes a bit of common sense to be able to recognise bovine excrement when you see it! (just as in our world)

You're guide is giving you some good advice there about looking out for yarn spinners and timewasters. Bullshiters can be annoying as they waste your time when you want to get on with talking with some genuine guides!
I think your guide will continue to help you with all aspects of your communications.
I think I will give this a go as well....
Good luck and keep us informed with your progress!

Douglas

Hi Greg, I will certainly pick up those titles you mentioned.
With regards to your comments about certain parts of christianity being re-written, if you think about it, its no great suprise really, as the teachings had to be re-srtuctured so that they would at least have a chance of being accepted by the Roman public, its no wonder then that it was modified by quite a bit, as Jesus' teachings were never really originally targeted for Roman ears, they were very much seen as the enemy - 'the whore of Babylon' and all that!

The Romans re-structured the whole thing so that it was centralised and state orientated in keeping with typical roman tradition of religion and state being one, however, this is really what Jesus was NOT after as he preaching something on a much more personal basis, not state run. I think this is when things started going wrong.

Hi Greg!
I wish you well with your studies, there's lots of great info out there.

With regards to reincarnation, I think that this IS compatible with (original) christianity, if you do a bit of historical research you'll find that reincarnation was accepted until  325 AD when at the Council of Nicea, presided over by Emperor Constantine, it was decided BY VOTE that the concept of reincarnation was no longer to be considered as part of christian doctrine.
Incidentaly, (but also of major importance!) it was at this council that a vote was taken to decide whether Jesus was a prophet or a god, the vote went in favour of him being a god.
The counci lof Nicea is a true turning pont in the evolution of Christianity as it was here that much of what we would all consider as christianity would sprout from. Constantine himself injected many of his own personal opinions and theories that were taken on board and adopted.
(even although it has later emerged that Constantine was 'being' christian really only for political reasons as he needed extra support and he remained in fact a believer of the religion/cult of Mithraism for most of his life, he was onlly actually babtised in the last year of his life!

Your quite right about mistranslations being an issue as well.

The whole thing about 'eternal hellfire' beloved of american evangelists, is actually a miss qoute, possibly deliberate.
The greek version simply states the time spent in the lower regions as being an 'eon', this can mean varying (but finite) periods of time, but at the time this was written, an eon was typically a hundred years.

However, each time this is mentioned in the english version, the transaltor has mistranslated 'eon' for 'eternal'. Many scholars think this must be deliberate however, as in other sections where eon is used in a diffeent context, the translator has no problem with the word. This is of huge importance as it contradicts the later notion of the simplistic christian doctrine of 'lead a good life go to heaven forever, lead a bad life burn in hell forever'

If you want a quick run down of these and other bits of historical info, Victor Zammit's Spiritual Truth site lists many of them on his 'Afterlife Faq'!

I think that it's high time that people who wish to be proper christians now discard much the crud that has accumulated over the centuries and return to his original teachings as I'm sure that that is what the man himself would have wanted, no-ones saying this is an easy task but its wothwhile I think!

Regards,
Douglas

>but in the end, it really doesn't matter what i believe, for only the truth matters :) .
~kakkarot

I agree, but what's the truth? Thats where the problems/arguments start!

I'm not saying I agree with everything the Essenes say, in fact I've made it clear that I think some of it is plainly ridiculous and impracticle, eg diet - uncooked fruit and veg, no fire etc

I agree that the bit about Jesus denouncing written scripture is contradictory as how are the essenes meant to diseminate their teachings down through the ages?

From what I can gather through, It isnt quite as self contadictory as at first seen. The essenes central philosophy was that their teachings were to be a living breathing, way of life philosophy. They rallied against the old judaic tyrannt of slavishly following old commands in old scriptures.

They lived according to Jesus (apparant) philosophy that his teachings should be spread by word of mouth.
This concept has survived in modern christianity, however christianity has got so large now and has gone on so long that it is impossible  for it to survive on word of mouth alone. This was realised quite early on so it was written down.
There comes the contradiction, However it must be remembered that Jesus/and /or the essenes didnt intend the spread of chritianity to last this long, in the original text and even in the NT it is quite clear that Jesus tought that the end of times was to happen very soon. It was an apocyliptic philosphy, quite common in the ancient world.  However, the Roman world did not end quite as soon as expected.

Hi,
I wish your site well, the more world wide focus on AP the better.
However I will be sticking to this forum (Loyal I suppose, it was the first trully decent site on AP that I ever found- and its full to brimming with newbie projectors and astral old hands alike!).

I don't see a real need for a whole  new site dedicated to local regions, in fact the world wide feel of this forum is much beter IMO.

However, I DO agree that it would be great to contact people in my area who are interested in AP.
I don't know anyone else in my region who is into this (I dont even tell my friends as they would probably think I was mad, they wouldnt say so of course, they would say somthing along the lines of 'hmm thats really interesting, I've had some vivid dreams as well.') So I use this forum, which is great!
Perhaps a small extra section might be set up here for people to get in touch with others in their own areas, what do people think?
I know that it would help me greatly!

Douglas

>Occult Philosophy (the "white" stuff, not the "black")

Sapien,
don't worry about using the term 'occult' here! Occult simply means 'hidden' as in hidden knoweldge.
It's interesting that mainly due to christian propaganda the term 'occult' now equals 'satanism' or 'black magick' by the generel public. When in reality such connections do not exist.

'Satanism' is no more occult than iron Maiden, just another way of young gothy types to rebel against percieved authority, There's nothing occult about it.
In fact you'd be hard pushed to find Satan in any true occult philosophy other than in symbolic terms!

Regards,
Douglas
PS I rather like Iron Maiden actually, but I think I've just made myself look dated!

#1200
Automatic writing sounds interesting.
How do you do it? I'd like to give it a try!
