You're right. I think all testimonials reported by people who attended courses at the Monroe Institute based on what you said. They live the "Robert Monroe atmosphere" and psychological effect so when they go out of their bodies they automatically find themselves in his own realms.
Not exactly, but close.

When they project, they find themselves in THEIR representation of what they believe Robert Monroe experienced.

See the difference there?

I know what you mean, but Robert Monroe's journey is considered to be a reference for any OBE practitioner.
Robert Monroe didn't learn this until much later in his life, and he actually figures it out while writing his third (last) book... he ultimately learned that experience is subjective and that everything he wrote about in his first two books basically became nothing more than a good read.  The problem with this is that people focus so heavily on those first two books... AND the fact that most people simply don't have a clue about what projection is, it's like the perfect storm of confusion.  People read what they want to read and ignore everything else.  It's your time to waste, go nuts.

I wasted 10 years of my life wanting to believe everything I read about in his books and others... suffice to say I now feel cheated.

QuoteMy favourite chapter in his "Far journeys" book is the chapter where he travel to past the year 3000 in the future when he can very easily know how it feels to be a cloud in the sky, a fish in the water, a panther in the jungle, a leaf  of a tree and a bird flying in the sky.. that's truly amazing!
Makes for a good read, doesn't it?  :)
Don't focus so much on it though.  Work on having YOUR OWN experiences.

Nobody will.  They were HIS interpretation of his experiences.  Experience is subjective.
My highest suggestion would be this:  stop trying to have Robert Monroe's experience... and just have your own.  :)

I had a question about brainwaves which I could never find an answer to.

The brainwaves we monitor... which direction do they go?  Are they really generated BY the brain?  Or are they coming INTO the brain?
I know the answer would SEEM logical to say that they are generated BY the brain, but I haven't actually ever found a definitive answer anywhere on it.

Thanks,
I got a program for android called alarm clock plus. I'm going to set it tonight to awaken me three times every hour so I can try to practice trying to awaken without moving.

Also I sleep on my side.

Should I try sleeping on my back?

Thanks.
Lie down however you want.  Just do so in a manner which isn't going to immediately put you to sleep.  :)

I use the "wake-back to bed" method to achieve both lucid dreams and OBEs. I noticed that some times I had LDs and other times I experience OBEs, but the main factor which seemed to control the "type" of the experience remained unknown to me. Then I experiment with the "waking period" before going back to bed several times. I noticed that, the shorter my waking time (10-20 mins) the more the experience is going to be a LD, while the longer it is (30-60 mins) the more it would be an OBE. Can anybody confirm that?
Thanks in advance :)
I'm curious as to how you are defining the difference between what you're calling a "LD" and what you're calling an "OBE"?
#1233
Nothing.

The mistake most people make is that there is "fake" entities and "real" entities.

Consciousness is consciousness.  There is no such thing as "fake" anything really.

There's no individual area vs collective area.  There's no "inside you" vs "outside you".

It's ALL consciousness... it's ALL "you".  Every bit of it.

To take the position that something you've experienced is "fake" is to simply not realize the truth of existence.

Well, this got awkward fast.  :)

How about you two just PM each other.  hehe

I came across this quote by Adyashanti.  It's something from one of his books, "The End of Your World".

QuoteThe truth of the matter is that most people who say they want awakening don't actually want to awaken. They want their version of awakening. What they actually want is to be really happy in their dream state. And that's okay, if that's as far as they've evolved.

But the real, sincere impulse toward enlightenment is something that goes far beyond the desire to make our dream state better. It is an impulse that is willing to subject itself to whatever is needed in order to wake up.

The authentic impulse toward enlightenment is that internal prayer asking for whatever it is that will bring us to a full awakening, no matter whether it turns out to be wonderful or terrible. It is an impulse that puts no conditions on what we have to go through.
~ Adyashanti

I know a lot of people come here hoping that Astral Projection will lead to some kind of awakening/enlightenment within themselves.
I have my own idea of what he's saying here, but I was wondering what other people's take on it is and how it might relate to your own "quest for awakening".  :)

Just looking to drive discussion.

Was definitely a tad creepy watching it.  :)
I can't explain it.

Clearly, u don't know what u saying man.

U wrong and I do know what I'm talking about. I posted it here cos it is a psychics interference, an implant in my energy body.

I must say that I used these entheogens in the past with great success, while the hack was OFF

So yes I can feel them alright. But not during the past few years, when the hack was in ON mod

Why don't u listen to what I am saying, I spent many a year researchering this

Like I said it is a energy body / hack and can be removed with appropriate healing or by demon turning it off
No.  You just WANT this to be something of magical/mystical origin so badly that you won't even bother to look for a normal reason for it first.

It's nothing magical, mystical or metaphysical... it's just your body working slightly different.

Did you know that there is a woman whose body converts ANYTHING she eats into alcohol?
Do you think that she went searching for a metaphysical reason for it?  No.  Actually, it's a funny story... she was pulled over and arrested when she blew a breathalizer over the legal limit, but was eventually let off the hook because of her "condition".

http://ca.complex.com/pop-culture/2016/01/woman-dui-charge-dismissed-because-she-suffers-auto-brewery-syndrome

Read the article and try to understand that NOTHING was "installed" in you.
Some people's bodies simply operate DIFFERENTLY to different things.

I'm sure Robert Bruce would jump all over your post.  He loves to spread fear like that.
I'm sorry, but I can't allow such a misleading and potentially damaging topic to continue here.  Locking this up.
#1238
OMG... people need to stop this crap.
You're NOT damaged.  Give your friend a slap in the head please.

If you truly can not feel the effects of such chemicals, then it simply means that your body processes it differently than the rest of us.

Not everyone experiences everything the same way.  Not even physically.

If you're truly wanting to do something like this, go see your doctor and find out why this is.
WE can't help you.  You have nothing wrong which a FORUM on the INTERNET can help you with.
#1239
\o/ was it expediently received?

Dude!  I just wanted to say how impressed I am that you've kept this journal going so well!  :)

You're doing great!
#1241
Yet, it's funny, because once you take the perspective that this physical reality isn't really physical at all... that kind of throws a wrench in it.

I've tested numerous realities and I've proven to myself that they're all just as physical as this physical reality.  It was one of my personal discoveries that really flipped my perspective on its head.

So if a "projection" can be as physical as this physical reality, then what is this physical reality?

I knew I was dreaming while I was dreaming. It wasn't the clearest I have ever had a dream but certainly a lot more clearer than my usual dreams.
Then you ALREADY successfully projected.  :)

QuoteWas the other poster being sarcastic?
I believe he was referring to the method you were suggesting.  It would work just fine probably.

I started having really lucid dreams when I was asleep but not lucid enough to be called projections
Can you try to clarify that statement a bit?

Did you KNOW you were dreaming WHILE you were dreaming?
Or was it a "dream" where the clarity of the experience was just similar to your waking life?  Yet you didn't KNOW you were dreaming?

The first is a projection.
#1245
It's all about finding your focus.  This is a good one.

But, the trick is that you have to find YOUR focus.  This particular focus worked great for the author, but it won't work for everyone, because everyone is different.

Once you find which focus works best for YOU.  You will literally be projecting as often as you want.

Nice to see all that hard work come together like this!  :)

With all due respect and curiosity to learn, what do you think about the time where all of humanity thinks that the world is flat? that awareness doesn't create the reality, right?
I don't know.  :)

Who's to say the world wasn't flat at that point in time?
Then it took the extremely strong Intent of several people to change that notion?

There are so many more layers of complication to it than just "most of humanity thinks *this*, so this is how it should have been".
If it was that simple, we would have figured out reality by now. hehe

Okay, Okay, now let me ask the same question with different words in it.

Does Astral Projection involve only my awareness/consciousness (imagination)? Or does it happen in the collective awareness/consciousness world (reality)?

Can someone explain with practicality?
From my perspective: http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/2015/01/23/astral-projection-individual-collective-areas-consciousness-exist/

QuoteAgain, I am not challenging anyone here, I am just looking for an opportunity to strengthen my Faith and turn it into my Belief.
Don't believe.  Wait until you can KNOW for yourself through your own direct experiences.
#1248
You were always in a non-physical reality, even when you were in your bedroom "attempting a conscious projection".
You essentially used that sense of "now" to bring about your waking awareness AFTER your change in scenery happened.

Keep using that sense of "now", it seems to be a good trigger for you.  :)

According to your theory (Which I believe in), what is the difference between reality and the so called "imagination". Why the reality is more tangible and linear than the imagination?
Very little actually.
This physical reality is more solid and unchanging simply due to the sheer number of individual units of awareness currently experiencing and creating.
Your imagination, likewise, is not solid and can be destroyed rather readily since it's just your awareness sustaining and creating it.  You can imagine it again and re-create it.

Everything is consciousness.  There's really no such thing as "outside of you" and "inside of you".  There just "is".
