Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / Re: Auras?
October 04, 2011, 08:47:32
Try standing behind a friend and moving your hands slowly around their head area and shoulders, obviously without touching. Most people can feel the aura of the person in front of them and, most of the time, the person seated can "feel" the hands of the other person as a sensation of static around the head. If the one seated is tired, depressed or distressed, the aura can often be shrunken and close to the body. This can make it harder to sense.

A small experiment you can do, once you can feel the other's aura is to have them think bright happy thoughts and see what it does to the aura. Once you can feel the bounds of their happy aura, ask them to consider something sad and see what it does to their aura.

Hi all, just a quickie. I will try the looking in the mirror with a white background behind me and try to see my aura, but on this i can actually feel auras or energy fields. I like doing this mostly with plants where it feels like the a posing side of a magnet propelling each other away, pretty prickly with a cactus plant!!    :-o

Summerlander's method does work and it gets easier to switch your eyes the more you practice. If ever you get the chance to see a working spiritual medium, look at them with these "adjusted eyes". You should see that their aura is larger than normal and more "milky", often with wisps or tendrils running outwards. I tend to find it most noticeable around their shoulders and upper back.

If you struggle with the mirror method and find that people get weirded out when you half gaze at them, try practicing with a dog. Dogs never seem to mind the attention. I've yet to meet anyone who failed to discern auras with a couple of minutes of trying.

I've recently been watching more of TC's presentations and am fascinated with his suggestions of accessing the database at each moment of awareness. I'm a games programmer and I remember a long time ago trying to think of the world in these terms and wondering where the "rendering engine" would be situated. Is our consciousness doing the rendering or is there a processor between us and the data which then presents us with our view of the world? Furthermore, each and every energy in the database is changing according to some set of functions. The vastness of the required updates is a joy to consider.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Simple truth's

I'm reminded of something I saw a few days ago...

A child at school is asked what she'd like to be when she grows up and she replies, "Happy". The teacher tells her that she didn't understand the assignment only to be told by the child that he doesn't understand life.

I am spirit, I am all, you are me and we are one
Know thyself for we are all one kind
We share our senses and a global mind
All are brothers with one spark divine
To brighten our hearts that they might shine
Give of yourself for all have need
To know your love, the eternal seed
Let it blossom that it might grow
A spark of life, so all might know
That an eternity of wonder is our one true goal
Securely nestled within Creation's soul

Welcome to News and Media! / Re: Psychic Challenge
October 02, 2011, 10:42:13
Has he published the conditions under which the test would be performed? With so much posturing, blustering and fatuousness involved, I'm not surprised that psychics or spiritualist mediums simply turn their collective backs on the negativity. If he's directing it at celebrity psychics, who doubtless have six- or seven-figure incomes, anyway, his $1 million incentive might be less temptation than we perceive is to be.

I just followed CFTraveler's link. Thanks, CFT.

The presentation didn't really gel with me so I skipped around a little. I think one's time would be better spent reading one of the many books on the subject. "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle is the one I'm currently reading.

Try the purple flame. Try enveloping yourself in a swirling golden-white cocoon or egg. Try imagining roots stretching down into the earth and allowing surplus energy to bleed away into the earth. Draw in the pure light of the sun for cleansing and allow it to fill you as you then pass it down into the earth.

You could also imagine a cloak of invisibility around yourself. Imagine that people cannot be influenced by you, since the cloak prevents any possibility of such. Use a shell of protection to keep others out from influencing you.

There was a glitch in the matrix. Our best people are still working on it. :)

I've experienced similar but not for a while.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Have you wondered...

For anyone who accepts the premise that we live our lives to experience and advance, suicide is the worst of all possible options. It's a "quit" option. It's saying, "This life is too hard and I accept that I cannot learn what I came here to learn". You'll return to spirit only to realise that you still need to experience what you came here for and you'll then reincarnate to go through some fresh version of whatever pain you're running away from. You'll do this again and again, if necessary, until, finally, you'll live a life where you choose to see it through.

Anyone considering suicide should ask for all the help needed but this life was chosen for the lessons in it. Their whole soul group is invested in helping them through to brighter days and then fresh trials.

Of course, for those who believe that life is a one-off and only oblivion follows... well, I don't know. I've had a rough year myself and the thought of going through it again if I aborted this life was one of the things to keep me going. Someone close ended her life and the emotional devastation left behind came close to resulting in two more suicides. The other person deeply affected is still far from regaining sanity and perspective and has committed herself. My own life is changed forever, since I have had to change to be able to cope.

I feel like I'm reading an "Inspiring-Quote-A-Day" motivational calendar or something.
In all ways, strive to enlighten those around you.

Have we drifted a little off topic?

Indeed... "a dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life, for as long as you live".

Life is for living and that the living of that life has no ending to strive for. Live every moment, since every moment is the seed of all possible futures.

The phenomenon as described by NoY is usually termed clairsentience by mediums. Clairaudience is more akin to hearing, similar to the way one "hears" one's own sub-vocalisation, and "objective clairaudience" is indiscernible from normal hearing. Similarly. there is clairvoyance and objective clairvoyance, pertaining to seeing and to visions.

A medium with objective clairvoyance and objective clairaudience could be talking with a spirit and be blissfully unaware that the other is spirit, rather than flesh.

Just live your life. Climb every mountain, ford every stream, travel every byway until you find your dream.

Not to seem sceptical but... We're five days away, surely something should be visible by now.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: After death
September 14, 2011, 11:29:10
My answer is simple: I want to be worthy enough to be able to join my fiancée. As such, I must strive in this life to discern and complete my purpose in being here. I must progress as much as I am able, that she isn't so far ahead of me in spirit that she is unattainable for me.

As for the rest, I have little to add to the previous two comments. Your personality should be the same but your perspectives will be different. Old memories will return and opportunities you likely can't currently truly imagine will become options again. You will decide then whether you care to reincarnate. In one of her books, Silvia Browne mentions that her guide, Francine, has only lived one life on earth and didn't like it much so hasn't cared to try for another one.

You understand the concept of loved ones and espouse a desire to help others, so I'd expect the transition to be a simple one for you.

I think that AJ has spent so much time being angry at things which scare and outrage him that it's now a part of him. He now has a knee-jerk tendency to rant and rage against the things he sees. He can no longer help himself to stop spreading fear and dissension. In that sense, if none other, the man has sacrificed a part of himself for the common good. Think of him as a war vet who has forgotten how to feel safe.

Welcome to Magic! / Re: Spirit Readings?
September 13, 2011, 06:34:00
I have to disagree with Summerlander's opening sentence but agree fully with his suggestions. I've spent a lot of time with mediums over the past few months, including dating a very good one for several weeks, and have no further reasons to doubt either life after death or communion with the dead. Mediums do exist but there are both good ones and bad ones. If you're interested then find a local spiritualist church. Note, though, that you are very unlikely to get advice on those questions. Here's my best effort...

1. You will choose your next life based, amongst other things, on performance in this life.
2. Regression might help but you really want to be looking into members of your soul group. On the other hand, there is no good answer to your question, since many of them could still be in spirit and their names would mean little to you, even if you could obtain them. You might recognise living members of your soul group as you live your life and they interact with you. People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Watch for them.
3. The next step to take, as for everyone, is to try to ascertain your purpose in being here and then try to fulfil it. Meanwhile, try to become a better person. Try to find your inner self and inner voice and be guided thereby.

I see the Christian guy as someone attempting to offer Dawkins the spiritual glory he feels within himself from his own experiences. This could be construed as attempting to convert Dawkins, who was having none of it and dismissed the Christian's experiences as self-delusion. The response could be considered rude.

On the other hand, Dawkins didn't answer the Christian's question at all, he simply closed his mind to the possibility of the truth of what the man was proffering. Maybe he had had his mind closed to this topic many years prior.

The real problem is that the topic is one which could occupy many evenings of comparative discussion and they had to fit their words into several seconds.

If it comes as some predict then being outside, even with goggles and a Riddick mindset, could be unpleasant.

Stocking up on a couple of months worth of food and water might be sensible. Don't neglect antibiotics and anything else you'll need in the days of chaos that are likely to follow a global disaster.

An ascended master, guiding the destiny of the spirituality of the planet? I have to demur.

As a child, I once tried to electrocute a pet mouse as a form of euthanasia. It survived the attempts and I placed it back into its cage to die a natural death. Instead, it quickly returned to full health and lived another year or more.

I would like to add, mostly by way of a disclaimer, that electricity can be lethal and it is folly to "play" with it without knowledge of the consequences of your actions.
