Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Coma Patients?
December 10, 2003, 08:22:12
I'm sure Robert Monroe mentioned coma patients in his first book, or maybe I saw it on a website.  But yeah, apparently they're somewhere in the astral dimsensions.

From what I gather, DBZ is some Japaneses cartoon called Dragonball Z.  Apparently, they use psi balls or something.  I wouldn't know, I have managaed to avoid it altogether so far! [:D]

I have this to say about homosexuality:

I have friends who are homosexual and they are some of the best friends I have ever had.  In fact, my closest male friend is homosexual and my closest female friend is bisexual.

I couldn't ask for better friends.  They're there for me when I need them to be, and they bring me nothing but happiness by being my friends.  I love them dearly.  If that's wrong, I don't want to be right.

James, thanks for posting that!  Hopefully my copy of Astral Dynamics will be landing on my doormat in about an hour.  I didn't know you could get signed copies though! Waaaaaaah! [:(]

Hehe, did you enjoy your rant, Zarklon?  Actually, psipog is the site I have been using.  Worry not, though, I'm not taking everything they say as gospel.  I just want to master constructs, then I will take it from there myself.  In all fairness, though, they seem to know what they're talking about and a lot of what they say makes a great deal of sense.  I like their frank attitude.

By the way, I have never seen DBZ and have absolutely no intention of doing so. [:D]

"Quietness is probably the reason I fail at home"

Quietness is precisely the reason I have failed most often recently.  The other reason being over-eagerness.  Oops!

No problem.  As to what whether it would work for you, my guess is that if the other presets do what they're supposed to, like headache treatment, then the chances are that stuff will too.  There's a file floating around the web somewhere called OOBE.wav that you might want to try, as it isn't BWG-dependent.

BWG is so useful to me when I want to focus or heal a headache that I'm probably going to register it eventually anyway.

Yeah, that song is amazing innit?  Pity it was rejected for the film, imagine how much better it would've been!

I'm very intrigued by the psi balls, and psionics in general.  I've started to train...plus it can only help with our efforts to project too, really.  Mind-focussing and all that.  Have fun, dude!

It happened in the morning, but I'm nocturnal so it was before I went to bed for the 'night'.

You're right, meditation is probably the key.  Recently I have been too keen to project so I've neglected it.  In the last couple of days I have also been too distracted by noises and stuff to focus, an unfortunate consequence of being nocturnal; as I'm going to bed, the streets below my flat (apartment) are filled with kids going to school and stuff.

About the posture, I have never personally needed to use a sitting position.  Falling asleep is generally not a problem for me, I don't get tired easily anyway.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice, dude!  I'll keep on trying.  I will project if it takes me the rest of my life.  Har, no pun intended!

Sure thing, Dragen.  I'll see you online!

Have either of you tried the NEW techniques available on the website?  I only realised last night that they were free to peruse.  I think I'll have a good look through that and see what I can see.  In other news, attempting to project after only 5 minutes of meditation isn't a good idea... [;)]

Hehehe, well I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really excited about the prospect of getting out of my hellishly unfit body for a while. [;)]

The first time I tried to project I had my hands on my chest, and so the racing heart was even more alarming, so ever since then they never rest on my chest when I make an attempt.

Good topic!  I had heard of lucid dreams and I was looking it up.  I came across a website that mentioned APing and Robert Monroe.  I had never really given much thought to it before, but RM sounded intriguing so I bought his first book.

Well, Journeys Out of the Body knocked my socks off!  Frankly, since reading it I became pretty much obsessed with the idea of APing.  I bought his second book (third on its way) and I've ordered Robert Bruce's book now.

LOL m0d0!  Nah it's a good idea actually, we need a good sign for it anyway, so it'd better have a name as well.

"Now when im meditating i tend to lie or sit with my hands resting on my thighs (Instead of by my side)"

Yeah, I do that too actually.  I've no idea why, I didn't even think of it until you mentioned it.

So you're being thwarted by over-eagerness too, huh?  This is so ironic.  If it isn't one thing, it's another.  At least it was one way of beating the fear of the unknown.  Now I'm just so ticked off I can't project I really couldn't care less what happens when I finally do it, I just wanna do it!
#139
You need to register BWG in order to import presets.

You're right!  That's the best idea yet, I'm going to try that too.  We have our whole lives, right?

This has the added bonus of being more practical when there probably isn't quite enough time or peace to try a full-on projection.  I think I've been getting too sure of my meditation skills lately.  Thanks for pulling me out of the clouds, so to speak. [|)]

That's an interesting concept, Dragen!  I'm going to keep on with ROPE for a little while longer though, because - and this is probably just me - I think that if I can't do it with a rope then I won't be able to do it with anything.  Besides, I know rope works because I almost got out before, and it was just my stupid fear that stopped it.

I have a new problem now.  I think I've finally defeated that fear, but what that has done is made me over-keen to project.  So now I'm starting to rush it and getting too frustrated when nothing happens.  Bah!

I really need to stop thinking about it and just let it happen. [|)]
#142
Hehe, thanks m0d0!  There's so much information in that treatise that it's easy to miss something.

I will certainly bear that in mind next time I begin my preparations.  Much obliged! [:)]

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / BWGen dangerous?

If I want to cure a headache or rouse myself from a drowsy state or something, I absolutely swear by BWG.  It's a fantastic program!
#144
Yep, sounds like a good start to me.  As I have discovered in the last 24 hours, making sure you won't be disturbed is vital!  Robert Bruce may well be able to meditate in a noisy room with children crawling over him, but it must take some serious skill to achieve that!

'Rushing it' really doesn't help, does it?  I tried to project and rushed it about an hour ago and didn't get very far.  I got the vibrations but I just couldn't put enough pressure on my astral body.
#145
Hi m0d0

That's an excellent suggestion, I'd love to meet up with you guys! [:D]

I've tried to project twice since this thread but I've been disturbed both times, bah!  I've tried the BWG, yeah, and I love it!  It cures my headaches, it helps me relax, or it wakes me up with the attention-focussing (cyclic) presets.  With regard to AP, though, I wouldn't really want to try to be honest.  It may very well work, but I'd rather be able to do it on my own, know what I mean?  Besides, getting to the exit stage isn't too much of a problem for me, it's just the letting go I have a problem with.
#146
When I'm that close, I'm not even aware of my breathing.  I have no idea if I'm breathing quickly or slowly, heavily or lightly.  My mind is focussed entirely on climbing that neverending rope! [:D]

I think that's probably what you need to focus on...mastering the ROPE technique.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, imagining that your body is really heavy and making yourself struggle to pull it up the rope is very, very effective.
#147
Sounds like you're as close as I'm getting.  Keep it up, don't lose faith!  Draw encouragement from the fact that you're so close.  You can do it! [:)]
#148
Sorry for the spam post, but LOL Dragen! [:D]

1) It takes me between 10 and 15 minutes, so I'd say that was normal, yeah.  Hell, if it works, it works!

2) I hadn't considered the possibility that the eye thing is REM (good thinking, ES), but it's certainly normal.  When I attempt to AP, it seems that every muscle in my body vibrates.

3) As has been said, the racing heart is normal and will diminish over time.  My heart feels like it's beating about 200 times a minute!

Above all else, keep at it!  You're almost there!  I find that ROPE becomes easier when I think of my body as being really heavy, so that it's a struggle to 'pull myself up', as it were.

Good luck! [:)]
#150
m0d0 - no problem!  I know exactly how you feel.  The first time I tried to project, I came pretty close but the heart thing got me, too.  I wish I'd read Far Journeys beforehand.  Never mind, next time I think you'll be OK.  The biggest hurdle, in my opinion, is the fear of the unknown.  As long as you want to project enough, though, you'll overcome it eventually.  I know I will!

bindi - putting your body into relaxation/trance is incredibly important.  If you don't do it properly, you'll have enormous difficulties with the rest of the process.  I learned this the hard way.  I find that with ROPE, a useful technique is to imagine that your body is really heavy and therefore that it's a big strain to pull yourself up the rope.  It's my belief that this helps to focus your concentration.  Think about it - if you're actually physically climbing a rope and you find it easy, your mind can wander onto other things.  If you're having a hard time of it though (like I would [;)]), you'll be focussing hard on it in order to succeed.

Works for me, anyway!  Not that I've been able to project yet, mind, but I have been mind-buggeringly close to it since I developed my little variation! [:D]
