I would say that those that have helped me the most are Robert Bruce, Frank, and Tom. Though everyone on the board whether we agree or not has been of help to me. I have been away for some time, what like a year, so there are a lot of new names around here. Hopefully we can all be of help to each other. I feel that as we interact we all influence each other in some way, even ways we may not see at the time can have a big influence on our lives.

Peace and Love to all

Think of it like this, your engery storage areas are 1 gallon containers. What you have done so far is take a tablespoon of water and pour into that gallon container. You have to keep pouring in to get it full. When first starting this can take time, just work at it a little each day or whenever you can.

This is common when you first start energy work. Keep working on it and you will feel the effects. The important thing right now is that you develop your awareness and energy body. The more you work with it the easier it will become.

I think the tired feeling comes from working yourself in ways you are not use to. As you become use to working with energy you will not feel tired. Much like when you start doing a new kind of physical activity, at first you just feel tired, but if you keep it up you feel more energized and able to do it for longer periods of time.

Oh wow, I have not been to this board in a long time. I did not expect to see a topic alive that I had actually posted to from the last time I was around.

Whoa Squeek, that's a sweet explanation and like nice colors. I love you, man!

If you will pardon my ignorance, what are these Adepts you speak of?

Personally I follow no one other then what I have learned to be best for me. I am open to new ideas and always testing them, learning, and seeing what is best for my growth. I am not offering you empty words but what I have learned from experience. One thing that I have learned is that while I occupy a physical body I should listen to it and satisfy its needs and requirements. Sex is something that is natural and I have found to be a requirement for my own personal health. I have tried going without any sexual stimulation, but have found it frustrating and in the long run more harmful that helpful. When I started practicing the Toaism which taught me to see that sex can be spiritual I finally felt complete and balanced. Here is the book that I learned about the exercises and ideas if you are interested: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0062513362/qid=1057867116/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/104-4959475-0315934?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

While one can follow the "higher" spiritual path, I still believe that we need balance between the material and the spiritual. We maybe spiritual beings in part, but we are still physical beings for awhile as well.

You clearly seem to have a strong pull or desire to be celibate. Maybe this is the best path for you, who am I to say. If that is the path you wish to take then do so and see where it takes you. Just know that from my experiences it is not the only path.

Has anyone tried celibacy to raise their consciousness?

To answer the original question, no. But I have raised my consciousness during sex, which can be pretty amazing.

From reading your posts I think you are looking at OBE/AP incorrectly. You keep speaking of power, people doing this to become more powerful, people seeking power, well never have I ever seen OBE/AP as being power or me being powerful for doing it. Maybe this is why you find it so unfulfilling, because it is not about power, it is about growth and development. Try changing how you view OBE/AP and you might find use for it.

Sorry, it just rubs me the wrong way when someone says sex helps spiritual growth!

What is it that you have against sex, might I ask?

From my experiences moderation and balance are key to being healthy. Someone asked what balance is, well balance cannot be defined exactly as it is different for each person. For some it may be going without sex, or others it may not be. You must listen to yourself, as only you know what your right balance is.

I personally do not see how celibacy can help, though this is for me. I find that by using Toaist techniques during sex or to cultivate energy (masterbation without ejaculating but to raise engery) I have much more energy than if I abstain from any sexual activities. Infact for me, if I try to abstain I become much to frustrated to do much of anything. Sexual engery can be very useful if you can convert it and cultivate it.

As for loosing sexual engery during dreams, after a while of practicing the Toaist sexual exercises I was honestly completely freaked out one night when I was having a sexual dream, woke up and realized that I was cultivating the sexual energy while I was dreaming. Clearly this goes to show that sex is what you make of it. It does not have to be a release and lose of energy but with practice you can teach yourself to draw engery from it for your other activities, even while we sleep.
#1433
I suggest you start practicing Robert's NEW Engery techniques if you have not already. This could be something that you are doing brought on by your feelings for this women, or it could be a kind of astral or etheric sex. Practicing NEW will help you to get control over your energy and understand this better. I have not been around here in a while but before I left there was someone who posted about something similar to this. I do not recall her name though. But her experience in astral sex was intentional. Have you spoken to your love interest about this?

But your post reminds me of some of monroe's experiences --- where over time he realized that the entities he saw on the astral levels were an aspect of self, or an aspect of his children (there are probably other variations.)  Is it possible that there is more to this entity than the initial thought that it is a separate being wanting to get it on? Maybe it represents something in your subconscious or something ---- Something that is trying to get your attention.

?????

Like I said, I have zero experience with other entities, though in my dreaming state I am sometimes surprised what things can represent -

Love,

Patty

p.s. I recall that on another forum we are discussing male/female, logos/eros, masculine principles and feminine principles. I don't know much about jungian psychology but maybe this is a part of your psyche that represents something masculine. What the hell, here's a free unsolicited analysis - Maybe if this guy represents the masculine principle, which can  be associated with order, organisation, rational thought, that sort of thing - maybe seeing him upon your return from an astral excursion (and seeing him in a state where he wants to couple with you) indicates that your higher self (or greater being or oversoul or something) is asking you to bring more of the masculine principle with you into the experience. Not that he is a real suitor, but that your subconscious is saying that your experiences are too unbalanced towards the feminine principles of creating, sensing, etc without the balance provided by the masculine principle.

This is probably most unuseful.

I agree with you on this, Patty. This very well may have something to do with you as opposed to someone just wanting to have sex with you. Instead of trying to get rid of this man by the usually physical plane means try understanding what he is about. Explore the emotions and thoughts that he brings to you. If I am not mistaken you started this exploration by exploring your sexual desire while getting in touch with the astral. Maybe you still have more to learn in this area. Or maybe it is time for you to learn control over this. I think the main thing here is to learn from this. Just try to remain calm, curious, and in control.

I have not checked out the site, mostly because I am usually online at work during breaks and am not about to click on that link here. I can tell you that no key sound is necessary. The basics is to move your sexual energy out of your genital area and into other parts of your body. Taoism suggests pulling the energy up your spine to the top of your head and then down your front, or if it is easier do it in reverse and pull up the front and down the back. Sometimes I find it easier to pull up the back and sometimes I find it easier to pull up the front. Deep breathing is good for the exercise. Sometimes if you are close to loosing control fast, shallow breathing can be good for removing the excess energy quickly, but slow deep breathing should be used most of the time for control. I have posted a link to a good book on this subject in another thread on this topic. If you are interested you might look it up. The book is called something like The Multi-Orgasmic Man.

Thank you for sharing.

In general I do not know how much being a vegan or vegatarian helps with projection. I have heard some say that it is the best diet for projecting, but I eat meat and I have projected. I am not sure if it does help or not but it does not seem to be a requirement to stop eating meat.

#1438
Thanks for the info, Lysear.

#1439
If this has been happening every 5 minutes for the past 5 days you might want to see a doctor. Is this painful? Does it feel like energy?

#1440
I find it very difficult to project when I am starving. If I am hungry when I wake up in the morning I find it next to impossible to leave my body, or even meditate. The hunger is just too distracting for me. The same goes if I am thirsty. I find it best if I have eaten a light snack or meal 30 minutes to a few hours before. Likewise, if I have eaten a heavy snack or meal I find it difficult to project as well. I do not think I have ever projected right after eating anything, but at the same time I do not think I have ever tried. I usually do not feel like projecting right after eating anyway. I think being comfortable is the best thing, atleast for me. Do what works for you, but do not sacrafice your physical health just to have an astral projection. Going without food for a day is not going to hurt you, but you do need to stay hydrated so be sure to drink water. I do not think it would be wise for me personally to fast for a day. I usually feel light headed and sick if I do not eat atleast a few light meals throughout the day. So listen to your body and do what you think is right while trying to be reasonable.

     Hope that helps              Lysear

I would like to point out that it is exactly as Lysear has stated. The silver cord is severed at physical death and it does not happen the other way around. The silver cord cannot be severed by any other known method other than physical death. You cannot actually sever the cord and bring about your own physical death. I just wanted to make this clear since dani is new to this and this question would probably come up as it usually does.

I would like to add that not everyone has seen this silver cord. So if you should find yourself out of body do not worry if you do not see one. I have not see one, but I have not really looked and I have not projected into the Real Time Zone much which is where it is usually seen. The silver cord can be debated but reguardless if you see one or not you are connected to your physical body until physical death because it is who you are. To me all your bodies are you, you are all your bodies at all times. The thing is that you are usually only conscious of one at a time. Right now as you read this you, most likely, are conscious of your physical body. You are still in your astral body because it is part of who you are, but you are not fully conscious of it right now.

#1443
As long as your physical body is alive, I would have to say no. After you have "crossed over" it is possible to get caught up in emotional loops which have been described by Frank on this forum. But as long as you remain calm, clear headed and focused you should have nothing to worry about when on the astral and be able to explore and evolve all you want. But I assuming that I answered what you were wanting to know in my first sentence.

I do not know anything about blue bloods. I thought they were University of Kentucky Wildcat fans.

Not sure I understand your last sentence. Are you saying you were separated from your usually partner and had lots of sex with others? I would say lots of sex could be the cause, especially if you are not use to a lot of sex. Just like any other part of your body, if you use it more than it is use to then it can be sore.

I have watched Jackie Chan Adventures and actually enjoy it. When I first learned about astral projection I woud get excited when I saw something about it on a show or movie. But as I have learned more about such subjects I am not longer as excited because I know that they get some things wrong or just take it lightly. The biggest complaint I have on this subject is how shows or movies will take such topic or things from other cultures and Americanize it which totally devalves the idea or practice and thus destroying its true intent or purpose. One obvious example that one would not have to go far to see is how the media protrays witchcraft, paganism, etc. It is nice that these shows expose more people to new ideas and those people interested in these subjects will do some research and find the truth from themself, so I guess it is not all bad.

#1446
It is very possible to do, but I have not done it as I have not had many projections into the Real Time Zone. A few problems can occur especially for an inexperienced project. One you have to be in the RT Zone and stay focused yet keep your mind clear. It is possible to wonder out of the this zone. I think Robert Bruce gives a better exercise to try on this site that does not involve one going far. He says to tape a playing card to a window with the face facing out. Be sure not to look at the card. Then when you project go outside and look at the card, keeping your mind free of thought, try not to guess what the card is but just see what it is.

Are there wrong ways and right ways? Or do all paths eventually lead to the same place, only some paths are much longer or much harder than others? Are the longer and harder paths wrong?
I may wish to go to a town that is 5 miles north of me but I start walking south. If I continued on my course I would eventually reach my destination after circling the world, but it would take a lot longer than if I had gone north. Is this way the wrong way, or is it the more difficult way?

Are there spiritual leaders that are as great as in the past? Well how do you measure the "greatness" of a "spiritual leader"? Is one great if they form a religion? Or write a book that many accept? Or proclaim an idea that most consider insane? To me spiritual leaders are not great. Where are they leading us? On the other hand I would consider a spiritual teacher more useful. Maybe I am nit picking here with words but I see a leader as one who leads and tells others what to do where as a teacher teaches others how to be their own, shall we say, leader and thinker. A leader is one with power, which I think we all know in the hands of humans corrupts the one with power. But one who shares the power is then liberated from the such curruption by not trying to be over others but instead help them.
So do I think there are great leaders today, no not really. Do I think there are great teachers today, I would say yes. Why are they not as known today as their past counterparts? I wonder if those great spiritual leaders of the past were actually well known during their time, or were they only known in their area and as time has progressed their ideas have spread and then become well known over centuries. (Note this is measuring greatness in terms of being well known, which seems to be how you are measuring those of the past.) To actually know if anyone during our time is a great spiritual leader or teacher we may have to wait centuries to find out. But if we measure greatness in terms of helpfulness then there maybe many on here that know of many of "greatness".
Another reason why we may not see many great leaders of today may well be a cultural issue. In the past people were use to leaders and looked to others to lead them. I think today we are more independent and seek less leading and more liberation (well for some anyway). So instead of us seeking Bubba of Tennessee to lead us to Enlightenment we seek ideas, which flow rather freely in our age, that we can work into our own beliefs and ideas to seek our own Enlightenment.

I think that is what is is used for actually. I personally have never experienced any pain from desire. The only time I have had any pain has been when I have been making love for an extended period of time, say an hour or more, without allow my penis to soften for a minute. Once one no longer strives for ejaculation then sex can last much longer, but it is important to remember that you need to let the blood circulate. Allowing the penis to soften every 20 minutes is a good idea.

I agree with the Taoist. Orgasms are good and can give you more energy. Ejaculation releases energy which is usually wasted unless you are wanting to procreate. I must say from experience that energy work and sex make for an awesome combination that can help improve all parts of your life.

kifyre, thank you for the post. I am glad you have seen improvement! It sounds like the basics of your exeriences are similar to what I have been doing, or suppose to be doing. I have not tried using a candle but I might start.

I will list some of the exercises that you can do during the day whenever you get a free minute, or to integrate into your daily life. First off, it should be obvious but whenever it is not necessary to wear your glasses, such as when you are not driving, cooking, working with machines, something that can be dangerous if you cannot see, you should not wear them.

1) Roll your eyes in complete circles one way and then another. This is to help relax your muscles and also to help with your ... um I am not going to try to spell it ... your side vision.

2) Hold your index finger up and keep your eyes focused on it. Move your finger back and forth from your nose out to arms length. Keep your eyes focused and following your finger.

3) Blinking. Close your eyes tightly for a few seconds, holding them shut using only your eye muscles. Also blink quicky a few times.

4) Image your eyes as the face of a clock. Center your eyes and then look to 9 o'clock for a second or two. Return to the center. Continue doing this to 10 o'clock, etc all the way around the clock. Do this slowly, don't hurt yourself.

5) Without your glasses, hold or view something to read just out of your clear vision zone so that it is blurry and cannot be read. Now try to read it while remaining relaxed. Do not strain. Observe what you can see, tracing the outline of it. Believe it or not the words will become clearer if for nothing more than a second at first.

6) View something in the distance well out of your clear vision zone. Do not strain to see it. Just accept what you see. Trace the outline of it with your eyes. See its shape. Then try to view the details of it. Don't worry if you cannot see every detail, just look at what you can see. Trace the details and pay attention to what you can see, not what you cannot. This is very important to do throughout the day for those of us that sit at a computer most of the time. This should be done every few minutes, atleast every half hour but more often if you can think about it. Just look away from the screen at something across the room, anything to move your eyes from looking up close to looking into the distance.

7) Hold up a finger about 6" from your face. Study it for a few seconds. Then look at something in the distance, atleast 15 ft away, studying it as you would in #6. Then switch back to your finger for a few seconds, then back to the distance object for a few seconds.

8) Palming seems to be suggested in almost every post, book, and source on this subject so it must be important. Do it! Place your palms over your eyes so no light gets in and close your eyes. Do not actually touch your eyes, but let your palms rest on the bone around your eyes. Doing this for 5 to 10 minutes should be good.

9) Close your eyes and stare at a bright light source. A lamp is suggested. I have heard the sun suggested from some, but with UV radition this may not be a good idea, whatever works for you though. Do this for about 5 to 10 minutes.

A big thing seems to be details. Don't just look at something, but see its details. Don't just see a tree, but see the leaves and bark that make up the tree. Don't just see a telephone, but see the buttons and numbers. Look at the shape of letters and words when you are reading. Actually use your eyes if you want them to continue working.

I suggest to everyone nott to just wait to hear from others if they are making progress but do it yourself. It may be great to hear about others success but think how wonderful it will be to see it for yourself. It really is amazing seeing a word that is blurry and unreadable come into focus for a second that first time, and second, and third. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> Do the exercises listed here by kifyre and myself as well as some energy work and see for yourself what can happen.

Best of Luck to Everyone!
