It appears that you do have some talent for getting out of body. I suggest reading through various OBE induction methods, picking one and then experimenting with that method for several weeks. Meditation is good as far as it goes But meditation is not a specific OBE induction method per se. Hopefully the first induction technique will work but if not, then there are plenty of methods to choose from.

Hallo all
Quickly back after doing a google search on both Billy Graham and Jane Goodall.
Mr Flip is quite correct as both individuals Are alive.
Its most likely that I confused Jane Goodall with Dian Fossey.
And although it is also possible that I confused Billy Graham with Orel Robert (who died in 2009) I clearly remember at some point in the last few years hearing/reading/seeing that it was Billy Graham was had passed over.
Very strange!

Zagadka yes, quitting smoking is difficult but it can be done. I know for I smoked cigarettes for 3 1/2 years before finally quitting. And good luck with rehab.

From the description that you provided it appears that you did have an OBE. Or perhaps a false awakening. IMO there Is a difference between these two experiences and the most important difference is clarity of mind and lucidity.

Yes, that is quite possible. Or, this person could simply be someone who can impart a lot of important info on a one time only basis. This is another type of spiritual guide --- a being attached to one specific astral location not to a particular person.

Those are indeed very curious events and than for sharing them. Many people have reported an After Death Communication (ADC) from a recently deceased family member or friend. The ADC can take several forms including a dream, a waking vision or an OBE. I cannot definitely state that an ADC will happen to you but I do suggest that you remain open to and aware of that possibility in the coming days and weeks. It is also quite possible that an ADC will occur to another family member or to one of your mother's close friend.

There are Many paths to an out of body experience. The Steve G. Jones course could be one such path. But if that does not work you will surely find many others. Try to be patient and stay with it until something works.
BTW What are your view(s) on December 21, 2012 which is now less than one month away?

A most interesting OBE and thanx for sharing it here.
Journeys to exotic astral realms like Velis are relatively unusual. This Has happened to me several times but I have never been fortunate to meet a guide there or even to know the name of the place. So I consider you somewhat fortunate in that respect.
The next step for you might be to deliberately return to Velis and to learn more about it. Perhaps there was a reason that you went there?? Maybe there are beings residing there that want to meet you?
People tell me that there is always a reason for an unusual out of body experience. Now that might be true, yet in my OBEs, I have never be able to deliberately return to any of the exotic astral locations which I have visited and actually am still unsure why I was there in the first place??

Yes, EVPs are real, of this I have no doubt. And what I find even more amazing is ITC (Instrumental TransCommunication). More and more paranormal groups (ghost hunters) are using devices such as Frank's box, Ghost Box and the Ovelisk to 'catch' spirit voices as they happen and allow the physical ghost hunters to reply immediately. This tech is still in the beginning stages but will surely improve over time.

Bedeekin, Sometimes you manage to sum up my attitude towards OBE forums very succinctly.
And BTW somehow I missed this thread back when it was first posted so this post may seem a bit out of  order and disjointed (but anyway).

Q. Are any of the experienced members on here growing tired of teaching and advising?
My answer Emphatic Yes ! and many many moons ago. Even if 75 % of my advice is helpful and useful (and that may be wishful thinking) then only about 25 % of the people use only about 50 % of the advice that I provide them. Meaning most of it is a Big waste of time.

My answer An emphatic No! I try to distance myself from people who I perceive to have the 'at the end of the day we really know nothing' climate.

My answer, I feel weary of entering into yet another is OBE real? argument. Or getting involved in yet another long phasing vs classical OBE discussion. Not all nonphysical experiences are the same and OBEs, APs, LDs and dreams should not all be lumped together. But I've said that seemingly a thousand times and don't feel the need to repeat it again and again in every other post. (Whether Summerlander is a member of the website or Not!)

My answer is a huge Yes!!!. This is the most important of the questions and gets to the heart of the matter. How many times have each of us read a post with a title like, "Was this an OBE or a lucid dream?" Personally I've seen that title, or titles very much like that, hundreds, yes hundreds, of times. In fact I don't even bother reading those threads anymore, much less reply to them.  

And, yes, it Is discouraging to see so many posts follow along such well worn and tiresome lines. But then usually I have given up and stopped reading Long before poster F, G, H and any others chime in with 'contributions' like demons and subjective world views.

Tried not to rant and keep it short.

Start by selecting the activity that interests you the most. It could be OBEs or dreams or energy work or ?? whatever. The select the appropriate forum(s) and get started. Read a few topics and maybe start a thread yourself and post a question and/or a personal experience. People will soon respond to your thread and just continue from there.

Your experience while asleep on the couch at work was probably an OBE. Many people become aware when out of body during their first OBE while physically asleep (and mentally awake) in a familiar location. The one slight difference from a "normal" classical first OBE was that your vision was unusual. Yet that might be explained by several factors, included the close proximity to the physical body (which many times distorts the astral senses).
In any event there is a Lot of info on OBEs and astral projection to be found here and help can be obtained when you post specific questions in the various forums here.

Going out of body after becoming aware during a dream or a lucid dream in actually a common experience. And yet that is only one way to induce an OBE. Many people experiment with different OBE induction methods until they find a technique that works. Be patient as it may take a few weeks or months but controlled deliberate OBEs Are indeed possible.

Yes, this has happened to me several times. Sometimes I become lucid during a dream and then deliberately shift (or phase or transition) into an OBE. And yet sometimes that shift from dream into OBE/AP just happens by itself and suddenly I am aware that it is an OBE.
Why this transition happens on those few rare nights but normally does not take place is a Big mystery. Prior intention, affirmations and current state of mind appear to have absolutely No affect as it just seems to be a random event. It is very exciting when that random dream into OBE event does occur though!

Actually both sleep paralysis and vibrations are Positive signs that an OBE is possible and may even be imminent. In addition to Bedeekin's excellant article you should be able to find other info on OBEs throughout the forums here.
