Birds evolved from reptiles so the first chicken came from a reptiles egg ... or pretty much what ASunnieSpirit said.

Thanxz Nick! [:)] That was a big help!!!

I guess I should just go through and read all of the stickies anyhow ... it was just searching for these terms resulted in hundreds of hits and no explanations. Thanxz again!!! [:D]

A bit off topic ... sorry ... but where do these "Focus" numbers come from like "Focus 10" etc. They seem to be used frequently here but it seems like everyone knows what they mean but me [:(]

Ya know I was really surprised at your responses too ... not that I'm all that fond of Astrology ... but maybe there is something to that Mars thang[:P]

Anyways, I'm glad you found some peace with your magickal quandries for a while there you were sounding a bit frazzled.

Best of Luck to you!

Hello curiousgirl, yes it is possible for a "good luck spell turn into a curse" ... it is entirely possible that your friend simply cast a curse on himself because deep down he didn't feel he deserved it or just expected it not to work. If this was his first attempt at magickal manipulations I can certainly see something like this happening but I would still encourage him to investigate further. If he is a good friend you may suggest him casting a simple luck spell for you. People often find it easier to wish the best for someone dear to them.

On the other hand it is also possible that it was all just a coincidence ... many spells require a fair amount of time to manifest. Perhaps his luck will change for the better soon [:)]

Anyways don't be frustrated ... I'm still pretty new here myself but I found the people here to be good and decent and I'm sure no one meant to upset you. [:)]

I use "Screenblast Sound Forge" a free audio program to record a Self-Hypnosis induction script followed by the suggestions I want to make. I also like to make a simple subliminal tract too. Anyways, you can either record the bwgen audio as a wave file and mix it all together or you can simply run the two audio programs in tandem [:)] I prefer the tandem method but it takes a little practice to get the voice and bwgen volumes the way you like it but this way you can play with the presets.

Welcome to Magic! / Drawbacks of doing magic?
August 09, 2003, 02:54:39
There is one drawback that can be significant ... many people will not share your interest in magick and depending on your family, friends, and assoiciates at work you may find that you prefer to keep parts of your magical interests hidden. Of course this all depends on you but like I said this can be a significant drawback.

You should probably look into it for yourself but from what I've read they are not horribly unsafe but typically not needed. If you have receding gum lines without gingivitis then a flouride treatment can be beneficial. The problem is in how much flouride your teeth need for optimum hardness without becoming brittle (fluoridosis). What makes this question even more difficult to answer is that everyone needs a different ammount and some drugs especially when taken by young people create very soft teeth. This is true of some neurological drugs.

Anyhow if anyone has gingivitis just avoid fluoride if you can help it.

I've been playing with the BW generator and find it quite useful for quickly relaxing and I've not had any problems with sleeping after or without it;s use. So it may be just a personal thing.

Also I'm curious what do you mean by "dangerous" FF13 ? Other than epileptic seisures (which is why epileptics shouldn't use it) I can't imagine a simple sound doing anything horrible ... unless of course you are a fan of that movie Mars Attacks [:D]

Hello Nita,

yeah well I think it's all an energy thing ... I don't so much believe in karmic consequences ... but if you want to screw someone else you need to screw yourself first. From a pragmatic view point it's just not worth being evil [;)]

Kitty Kat what you are asking for is basically a Commanding spell or an "Essence of Bend Over" spell such as in Hoodoo root workings. The fact that you indicated you were having a moral dilema ... and that it would be "negative" energy suggests that you would not likely be able to put your full will behind it. If at all possible it would be better to try and use your energy to improve your position.

Thanxz for the links! I'm a chemist and I did some basic literature research on fluoride in the water though it was only to determine whether it actually helped prevent cavities (the answer by the wasy is generally no and it seems to be responsible for many cases of fluoridosis and gingivitas). Anyhow, your post here was the first I've seen suggesting a link to the pineal gland.

I agree that some hypothesising is needed when interpreting the studies ... the first link indicates that there is no direct correlation with long term fluoride exposure ...
quote:
There was no corTelation between pineal fluoride and bone fluoride. Therefore, unlike bone, pineal fluoride concentrations are not indicators of long-term fluoride exposure and body burden. Pineal fluoride, however, was significantly correlated with pineal calcium.

... but then there were only 10 subjects, with a wide range of concentations and no apparent control (someone who never drank fluoridated water) ... so that is certainlu not conclusive.

The second link does bring up some interesting posibilities and provides a plausible rationale for the apparent increase in insomnia cases as well as the earlier-than-usual onset of puberty.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! it's really quite fascinating [:)]

I don' mean to intrude in this discussion ... but I've always been curious ... does a crystals dimensions mean much or is just a composition thing?

Hmmmm ok, I'm new here and don't want you to take this as an atack ... honestly I don't know much about this topic ... but it's not clear to me why fluoride would be directly linked to decreased levels of melatonin. In particualr how fluoride contributes to calcification of the pineal gland. The abstract indicated that calcification is age related ... are you suggesting that the calcificatioin is actually formation of calcium fluoride and that increased fluoride levels are generating an apparent increase in the pineal age?

Oh and thankz for reposting!

I just wanted to point out that the links do not corroborate calcification of the pineal gland ... just that fluoride can accumulate there.

Well back when I was 17 I was pretty busy being shot down by girls [B)]... but otherwise I always enjoyed making things representative of that age ... like a 3 foot long PVC spud gun I called a  spudzooka and the larger and more powerful cousin spudzilla. All you need is some PVC piping roughly the same bore as your projectile ... with screw threads, a cap that screws on (base), piezo electric lighter (just the sparky bit), a can of aerosol hair spray (fuel), and a lot of spuds [:D] Anyways, I think how to put it together and work it is pretty obvious ... just don't use much hair spray ya only need one quick spray.

Anyhow the reason I mention this project is that it was easy, lots of fun and attracted a lot of people with similar interests[:D]

untouch, I'm new to the astral thing and bwgen ... but I found that the preset "Too Much Coffee (improved)" works well for non sleep or astral thangs while "deltabarbor" after a little tweaking generated a number of odd "vibes" for me while in a meditative state. My impression is that the presets may be close ... but a little fiddling can make it a better fit ... atleast for me. Maybe this has something to do with "frequency windows" ?

I'm not sure what it is in the brain that makes a psychic psychic but if it has anything to do with stimulating certain areas of the brain and retarding others then smoking "could" have some  psychic benefit. Here's an abstract (one of many) that demonstrates the effect of nicotine on brain activity http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?rendertype=abstract&artid=31902

... I'm not advocating smoking for any reason just that disgusting habit aside ... yes smoking "may" have some beneficial psychic effects.

Oh, and if the effect is attributed to nicotine ... you could always use a patch or gum or something non-lethal and disgusting.

I haven't tried the "Monroe Institutes" stuff and I've only recently started playing with BWGen ... and while I can't say anything about astral experiences resulting from it's use (I'm new to the astral thing too) there is most defenitely an entrainment effect. I'm particularly fond of the "Too Much Coffee" preset in the morning [:D] and many of the relaxation and sleep inducing presets do appear to work for me as well. I've tried listening to the Astral presets without any notable effects so far ... but one has to remember it is just a tool and maybe I just haven't figured out how to work it properly yet.

Oh, I also find that fiddling a bit with the presets seems to be very beneficial. I liken it to fine tuning the system ... each person probably has a slightly different optimum frequency for entrainment ... or atleast that's my feeling.

Anyhow, I recommend the brainwave generator and a little fiddling. If you find something you like you can easily generate your own entrainment CD.

Hello Everyone! [:D]

Well I'm not really shy ... just fairly new ... but I am a "regular" member now [:D]

I've meditated for years and recently became interested in the topic of remote viewing and I was just curious if RV could be related to OBE's. Well one google search later and I was here reading lots of interesting stuff ... 'n that's pretty much my whole story.

Ooooh one question ... is there anything like a glossary of terms for this place? It's not very important but this place uses a lot of little acronyms that I'm not familiar with ... like DBZer I just recently found out means DragonBall Z-er. There were a few others ... nothing major but if by chance there were a reference page someplace it would be handy.

My typing is horribly slow and for anything serious I use Dragon Naturally Speaking and I highly recommend it. You need to have a good microphone and sound card and you will despise the program for the first week but once you get the hang of it and your library of trained words is sufficiently large it's truly remarkable![:)]

Oh and editing is trivial, there are ways of moving about using your voice but using the mouse is faster. The only drawback that I've noticed is that I need to take breaks every hour or so. My voice gets a little horse and the recognition starts to degrade. Also you don't want to train it with a horse voice. Anyways it's really a great program!

Sorry, I don't mean to be off topic here but are you saying then that OBE and remote viewing are two different phenomena? I just kind of assumed that if you were having an OBE then you were remote viewing by default.
