I will put together a post within a couple days. Work is a killer lately, graveyard shift. I want to put out something WORTH the read. I am sure many will recognize what I describe though. I will post it in this forum as a fresh post so that it can be modified as necessary after constructive criticism.

Enjoy!

LOL. That is and has always been my point. You guys/gals crack me up. I have been practicing meditation since I was a child. Learned initially from Rosicrucian teachings. I have found the Buddhist tradition to be more simplistic yet powerful. There is such a host of exercises that can be performed it is silly that it is not taught in grade school.

If anyone is interested, I am willing to construct a post of meditative techniques which may be beneficial to newbies or current practitioners alike. Is there already a thread or sticky on this topic? I am sure I could learn as much from others as I could instruct. Franks phasing is really just a form of meditation. No flames please. Really, though, that is why I am attracted to that particular practitioner. That is why I began posting here. There is a simplistic practice with established terminology that nearly anyone can understand. I think when someone hears "phasing" they get it but don't get it at the same time. It is an intuitive process which is natural. As natural as going to sleep. As natural as creating a masturbatory fantasy (no, really, say you never did that). As natural as planning your next days activities. Varying degrees of a meditative practice that many are unaware they are doing. And all is directly related to developing the skills for "phasing" or "astral projection" or "OBE" or whatever you want to call it.

Anyone?

No I don't' struggle with the attitude of others  :-). I gave up recommending meditation because it sparked controversy of the "new agey" concept

And yes, I did not mean the book was good or bad. I stated the meditative practice described therein was one of the better methods that has worked for me toward achieving purposeful conscious projection. Sheesh. See what I mean? Just trying to stay on topic. I can get quite tangential at times. Sleep deprivation.

Xanth, always with the spot on links. That is why I am trying Franks methods. His experiences are so similar to mine. The understanding you come away with after successful journeys really helps to solidify these beliefs. I can't say there are no negative entities or energy draining creatures. I can say that I have never encountered anything that I did not feel incapable of dealing with.

I am, unfortunately, not a world traveler. I have traveled around the United States and parts of Canada. When I took a trip to Mexico with my wife I found myself in a "foreign" land. Few spoke English and my high school Spanish was rusty. There were moments of "fear" perhaps, dealing with the unknown, adjusting to the different customs, traversing the different environment all while being seen as a "tourist". It took less than a day and I was having full conversations, laughing and ordering "mas margaritas, por favor!" It was a great trip. I had to push through that fear of the unknown. I learned from my mistakes. There were no drug cartel murderers threatening me or kidnappers waiting around the corner. I made friends who looked forward to my wife and I visiting at the beach. It would have been a much different vacation if I had let my paranoia and fear keep me from seeking out the newer and better experiences.

Unfortunately for me I see the dark side of the disorder. I see mentally ill people when things have decompensated to a forced hospitalization. I do however see the drastic improvements and return to their families and communities. There is nothing worse than seeing a straight A high school student and athletic star, beloved by family and friends, brought in babbling incoherently and lashing out in abject fear. The family is devastated and lives change. It generally takes much love and patience on everyone's part. The recovery is usually bittersweet. I hate to paint such a picture. It does not do the sufferer justice. I do wish there were more tolerance and understanding by the general public, not just toward mental illness but other disorders such as the autism spectrum and mental retardation. The people who endure these illnesses are true giants of human spirit and can be some of the most genuine people you can meet.
As I've said before PR, it is a noble pursuit you are on. I Do think you know. Your just getting started. Don't stop. People need you.

Seriously. I want to meet an alien in the flesh. Not trans-dimensionally or during OBE or whatever. I THINK I've seen UFO's before but how would I really know. There certainly is so much going on the majority of us no nothing about. What worries me is when people begin talking as if they are a particular authority. They preface with "in my opinion" or "what I think is". This verges on disinformation.

I agree that raising the public's awareness IS a positive trend that should be encouraged. That is why I post here now instead of lurking. I sometimes feel I could be seen as a troll but at least I believe everything I say...  :-D

"Disillusionment with our modern day society"? During what time in human history has there NOT been "disillusionment with our modern day society." Really, aliens gonna take us over, etc.? Why the heck did they wait until we developed WMD's and such. Just for the sake of discussion.

Government containment rooms for astral projectors? Good Lord. Maybe? I dunno. Sounds like a spiritual conspiracy. Never found anything I couldn't pass through if I wanted. It would be scary to be stuck in something other than my own flesh :-o

I wasn't downplaying the whole alien thing. It does sound awfully "Hollywood" though.

If you respond to the unknown with fear it is exactly that which you experience. Find courage instead. Put on a brave face. I do not believe you can be harmed. But then, that is my belief. You would have to believe the same. How do you do that?

I remember being a young child. I dreamed every night. I had "nightmares" that I can still recall today. I told my father of a dream which scared me significantly. He recommended  I embrace what I was scared of. Hug and hold the fear, love it and care for it. Demons (if there were such a thing) delight in terror. Feel sorry for them. They are the trapped ones bound to the lower realms trapped by THEIR fear. Show them pity. Cry for them. You yourself would then be in the position of power. I have not had a negative AP/OBE ever but I have been overwhelmed or unable to muster the appropriate strength for a particular event. Oh well.

Others may tell you to fight the demons, build armor, etc. Never done it, never needed it. Learn to raise your vibrations and elevate beyond the negativity.

Some of the lower vibrations Tiny was talking about.

Yes. Each ONE of us must be a light on the path for the other. I am learning to garden effectively. I plan on raising chickens. I educate and instruct my children on proper morals through example. I have no "credit cards" but I do have a boatload of debt. I work and contribute to society. I am the dad yelling words of encouragement to all the kids on the soccer field. I try to practice forgiveness because I know the scales of karma will not shift in my favor without it. When "all hell breaks loose" there will be the evangelicals shooting their AR-15s until the ammo is gone. I and my family will survive the nuclear devastation by co-oping with my friendly neighbors. The greedy corporations will have no means to support themselves as money will become worthless. Science will become the new industry standard and it's reward will be innovations which only aim to benefit mankind.

I can't wait until 2013.

Blue Lunar Night
I Polarize in order to Dream
Stabilizing Intuition
I seal the Input of Abundance
With the Lunar tone of Challenge
I am guided by the power of Vision

Well that just about hit the screw on the head, I think. And to think I'm a Scorpio too!

I gave up on preaching about meditation. My earliest posts left me a bit disillusioned about the overall attitude toward meditation in these forums. I truly appreciated the practices as described in "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying" by Sogyal Rinpoche. There has been no other reliable way to AP as this for me and the practice has multiple benefits depending on how devoted you are to the practice.

That being said I am still struggling with "phasing" and will get back to pondering Franks PDF.

And it is very difficult to find, if it exists at all, the place to delete my email.

Thanks a god damn lot you assholes.  Jesus!

I will delete the account and god damn the bastard responsible.

God damned skank trash.
The responsible one was himself. That was fun. I had to quote this just so I could read it twice in the same thread.

I'm my own guru. I kick my own butt everyday.

Were talking about soul stealing here? Or what???

Gut instinct will tell you where to go and not go. I generally know what I should and should not be doing/going both in AP and here in the plain old physical.

Stupid question here but, why all the interest in aliens? Only had one experience I can recall about aliens and they were a bunch of bullies. I wasn't impressed at all. These sound like lower vibrational experiences to me. Kind of a waste of time isn't it? It all gets better the higher you go, love, light and eternal wisdom free for the learning and sharing.  8-)

I want to see aliens in the physical, you know, shake their hand (er flipper or ?). Wish someone would provide something truly tangible, incontrovertible and objective. Imagine the world wide gasp.  :-o

You might be trying too hard. Taking a break from AP won't necessarily hurt but you should always exercise your imagination and will. Practice meditation and develop/maintain focus and concentration. The frustration alone could be working against you. There are practices to help you develop awareness in dreams that are actually quite easy. All of this takes time and patience. Don't rush it. Lower your expectations so that the experiences you do have will be all the better. I dunno, did that help?  :-)

Personalreality-
Was your last post sarcasm? If it was then "ok".

I realize you are being schooled in psychology. I suppose you may "believe" it is not a disease. I however will profoundly disagree with you although for the sake of argument we could say "brain disorder" -http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/schizophrenia/index.shtml. As I have stated, I work in acute inpatient mental health. I have worked in a hospital setting since 1998. I am a registered nurse certified in psychiatric care. I have worked with acutely mentally ill who are generally brought in by ambulance through the emergency room. We can think about the disorder all day long but when I see people who have lost their ability to communicate effectively and live a productive life I don't have to think, I have to act. I know very many who function quite well and enjoy their lives despite the diagnosis but this is not without the support of family and the community. Also, as with all disorders, there are varying degrees and so what works for one may not work for the other. The following is a quote from my earlier post and was exactly how I tried to show some community support -

If you do have a diagnosis of schizophrenia then always and I mean ALWAYS take care of the condition. Stay with your meds, talk with your doctor and seek counseling when needed. You should be able to distinguish your spiritual experiences from drab reality. You should try to keep close to others who understand your beliefs (hard to do sometimes). Your doctor will not understand, your therapist will not understand and your parents will be to concerned of your well being to understand. If you relapse into illness it will be very easy for those around you to distinguish this from you spiritual journey. You are not required by any means to share your religious or spiritual self with anyone you do not want to share it with. Sounds like your parents care about you. Show them you care about yourself as well, that will help in the long run.
The positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia are generally observable by those close to the person with the disorder. If the parents don't understand anything about astral projection and such "real" beliefs they may confuse this with symptoms of an illness - "magical thinking" for example.

I refuse to see mental illness as a handicap. It is a disease which can be treated successfully with meds, without meds, with therapy, without therapy or simply with love and support. It cannot be ignored however and I have never heard ANYONE describe it as a "gift". Voices, "wonderful" or not, are only a small part of the symptom spectrum. Whether they are "open to both this world and the other" is really of no consequence since in reality we all are. We, you and I, are able to distinguish a difference between the two though.

As to the comment on Western medicine I will have to disagree as well. I have worked with many psychiatrists from all over the globe including Sweden, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Germany. The perspectives are unique for certain but the acute symptoms and degree of lethality is the same wherever you go. It is the stigma attached by the uneducated society at large in the western world that can make it a "horrible experience".

I will agree with your statement about what psychology has taught us. I work in this field because I love the people. I see much of myself in their humanity. I witness incredible strength and intelligence. The difficulty with schizophrenia is that it is not a mood disorder which responds to "psychology", it is a neural networking disorder that causes misinterpretation of perceived stimuli. A person with a diagnosis of schizophrenia is not suffering from an existential crisis which responds to therapy. They and their support system require extensive education to cope with the symptoms. Luckily, for you and I, the knowledge required is growing by leaps and bounds everyday and we will be able to share this as we learn.

My apologies to the original poster for hijacking this thread with my ranting. Thank you, Personalreality, for keeping me on my toes {takes a deep breath}

I remember back in the early weed smoking days I could swear I heard crickets wherever I went.

I did Army basic training in Kentucky during autumn and the cicadas were deafening.

There was an original Star Trek episode where they isolated the location of an individual on the Enterprise by listening to everyones heartbeat and then narrowed down the heartbeat sounds until only the single individuals was left. There are so many friggin people on this planet maybe its the sound of six billion + heartbeats.

Regardless, an "impenetrable Zen attitude" will never hurt. Have you tried humming along with it? You might cancel out the frequency that way and have fun at the same time.

They could possibly discover the cause for human ignorance and help us find a cure.

schizophrenia is fun
No, it is not. Saying that is FUQDUP and show little insight. Just sayin  :?

See an otologist.

Seriously. I've listened to metal, been to ultra loud concerts, fired many weapons without adequate protection and done my share of screaming into a mic. My ears don't ring. Everyone is amazed by my hearing. I hear things most don't. Here in Oregon there is apparently no Taos hum. No aliens in the mountains (as for as I know, sheesh).

One of the questions I ask new psych admissions is "So, do you hear or see things that other people can't?". It's an open ended question several people here have answered.

Why is there always a conspiracy? Just askin cuz I'm unaware apparently.
#171
Oh yes, many times but not while under any of the aforementioned influences.
#172
In my experience, when awakening from a dream like that I will feel a rush as the body is released from paralysis. The "vibrations" referred to are more specific in my mind, usually centered from my chest up to my head. But that is just my point of view.

Others?

Facts? I'm not going to doubt facts!

Where ARE the facts? Is this youtube presentation the facts or are there other sources than this hyperventilating, pressured man speaking nearly unintelligably? I've seen alot of youtube vids just like this but never found reliable sources to back them up. Sure would be interested.

And yes it was a popcorn moment.

This caller did too much methamphetamine. I'm sure he believes every word he stated. Scary for him!
#175
Xanth is correct.

The body is a vehicle only. For the disconnected head that was not reconnected there would be death for that individual. For the reconnected head there was only suffering and torment. Imagine, trying to bite the staff (torturers) because that is all it could do to protest. Too bad it didn't try to spit as well. Sad. I will bite you if you do that to my head. The "soul" of the animal probably was in a safe place during the whole process anyway, dissociation.

I was always intrigued by the stories of those put to the guillotine. How the dismembered head would grimace and attempt to talk. Not a good time I'm sure for animal OR manimal.
