Sounds like you have some good ideas to try there.

Also, people in modern times tend to be sleep deprived. Before electricity was invented they say most people slept more like 9 hours per night, especially in winter. Getting a full night's sleep should help.

I would also try a little more complicated mantra to keep the mind engaged. Then maybe set a timer for 15 minutes and add 5 minutes per week -- this might add urgency to the concentration effort early on until you get a rhythm going.

We are always, "Perceiving" something, imho.

We translate those perceptions into physical sense representations to the degree that we identify with the physical form (which for most is almost totally 100%, all of the time, even when "OBE").

It was a good read, but I am slightly concerned.

Mediumship is the opposite of adeptship; the medium is the instrument of foreign influences; the adept actively controls himself and all inferior potencies. This sums up my views of the topic.

A good summation but I do not understand where you see "mediumship" here?
When a projector goes within and converses with another being within... *that* is NOT mediumship.

That is personal, first person experience in the Inner Realm.

Quite right, the kind of emotions you exude shows the kind of emotions you receive, like they say, garbage in garbage out, in the astral, I don't ever have problems negs or darkness.

Heh, "exude", what a great word.

My outer studies do color the entire inner realms that I explore to a large degree. When I was with a Rosicrucian group - during one exercise I came upon a creature straight out of the The Goetia: The Lesser Key of Solomon the King -- only different (it wasn't in there).

Okay. I checked on how gorgonzola is made and it uses blue cheese starter. So a couple nights ago I tried a little on sliced cucumbers about an hour before bedtime.

I believe I did have above average quality dreaming. I got Lucid and I even started going OBE from the LD state (but lately my LD to OBE conversions have gone strange on me... every few months my psyche does a major change-up on me with OBE/LDs and I need to adjust).

You will know when you are out of body. It is highly apparent. "Floaty" is a great way to describe it.

Actually if I use the rollout method, sometimes I will feel like I just rolled out physically and standing next to my bed and I am not sure if I am really out. I do a little hop and start "floating" as you said, and that is the clear indication of the OBE condition.

Whatever floats your boat use it, after all, we are in the situations and religions we are to better understand ourselves and the divine. I still believe anyone can make beautiful awe inspiring music as long as the person is attuned to the right "waves"
Whatever floats your boat use it.... One man's meat.....

Some music floats the boat better than others in a semi-universal fashion.

When I read posts about problems with negs and dark, sinister environments while OBE, nightmares, etc.  I wonder what sort of music they listen to. What TV do they watch, or movies. People focus their Awareness on the Darkside and stuff their consciousness with negativity and then they wonder why they have bad dreams and dark OBEs.

About a year ago there was a discussion on negs and such and someone said "everyone has nightmares".
Not true.

I just posted on another thread an hour ago;

"For me, yes. Light tingling over the whole body along with a very warm wave. It borders on just plain HOT! sometimes."
#159
Just curious Ziggy, did you read the whole U-book?
That thing is HUGE.

I don't think the US. wants war with Iran or Syria... they are each capable of doing what the Vietcong did. They would make the Iraqi's look like novices at insurgency, they have so many hidden mountain caves and social support networks.

Actually, the VietCong were beaten and basically done by 1973. The failure of their Tet Offensive was the beginning of the end for them. The USA military was in nearly complete control of South Vietnam and casualty rates had fallen to nearly zero. I am not kidding. Check the yearly casualty rates yoy -- they were in steady decline and extremely low in the last year of fighting.

That war was lost by a bunch of lying cowards in the USA streets and Washington and the Leftist Lamestream media that presented a big Lie about the progress of the war nearly every night on the evening "news".

It is true that Americans do not want war in Iran. The USA has had it with Middle Eastern war. They have been beating each others brains out for over a thousand years and there is not much to be done to stop it.

I think good physical health helps OBEs.

I got the flu a couple weeks ago and it made concentration and meditation and AP nearly impossible. I had extremely strange dreams and fitful sleep for several nights.
I am sure glad I got that behind me.

I would stop by for a tour but I would not take one of their overpriced courses.

I am on their mailing list and nothing they say makes me think they are on the cutting edge anymore. They have gone very commercial lately and I am underwhelmed by the new programs coming out.

Do you feel relaxed, stressed, or thoughtful hearing it? I believe (and I strongly do) that the Quran is the only text that could create this majestic, spiritual, melodious feeling without the aid of music, just by a human's voice.

Whaa?? Are you kidding? I mean... that was nice and all, but...

I agree with Stookie.

I much prefer Christian polyphony, Sequentia, etc. for sheer beauty to peaceful serenity...
I think it beats every other form of inspirational and majestic spiritual sound, hands down. No other form comes close.

And this has a similar sound to your piece, only much better;

But to me, the most beautiful, most sublime choral voice sound ever is without doubt;

(breathtaking)

Of course it started by building on the beautiful foundation of Hebrew chant, with the Christian sound gaining a Greek & Roman overlay and the Muslim tradition built on those;

Here is an old Greek chant sung in what is termed the "Old Roman" style dated to about 100 years before Mohammed was born. It was popular all over the Mediterranean and the Islamic Quranic recitations clearly build on this style and method.

QuoteIt looks extremely bad living on machines etc. My question is if you were in a vegetable state... I don't know about you but I would rather die naturally then to be kept alive. You know what I mean?

I think these videos are interesting but they are not addressing Cody's question.

If there were a "Do Not Resuscitate" option that we could place on our driver's license I would check that box.

How many OBEers develop enough detachment to know how to recognize when this body has outlived its usefulness?

I know I have been in realms wayyyyy far away from physical consciousness and when the return signal is received it is a surprise to recall the earthly existence and the thought of returning is enough to make one groan and grieve.

Fear of death is no longer a big issue for me. Fear of a miserable life in a decrepit physical body that can't take care of itself looms ahead of me as I near retirement.

QuoteDuring this time, you learn to use thought forms to create your next objective reality.

From what I have learned thus far...

that is a completely delusional fantasy.

From what I have been able to discern, the best we can hope to do is manage a birth circumstance that leads to meeting a Competent Teacher at some point early enough in life, such that half a chance at attaining Mastership becomes a viable possibility.

But I am still intently working at piecing this puzzle together....

Hi Todd, I downloaded the Peterson book you linked to. Thanks.
However I am not real interested in reading books. I have some experience with AP and I would really like to get straight to the actual practice. Can you identify which chapter or chapters are most instructive in the actual projection method?

what happens when you do dhikr?

1.Dhikr increases the capacity of brain in the direction of the meaning of words repeated in mind.

2.Dhikr transfers the wave energy generated by brain to the person's soul (ruh), which is the hologram-like spiritual body of waves, thus, it provides the person with a strong soul in the afterlife.

3.Dhikr develops brain faculties such as comprehension, understanding and assimilation of the meanings of the repeated words.

4.Dhikr brings certainty (yaqeen) about Allah.

5.Dhikr results in realization with the divine meanings.

"- Dhikr involves muraqaba or meditation, through which one reaches the state of ihsan or excellence, wherein a person worships Allah as if he is actually seeing Him."

It is hard for me to imagine someone growing up in a Muslim Fundamentalist household and NOT being very familiar with Dhikr.

Start with whichever form is already established in your family tradition. If it follows the Naqshbandiyah Order of Faqirs so much the better (Dhikr khafi). "Alhamdulillah" is one of the shorter recitations and the shorter the better, imho.
Just the simple "Allah" in this video is good. Very short and simple;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsTnoPzkAxs&feature=related

It takes months to come to a solid grasp of each of the various forms. The imagination of energy flow from one side of the body to the next can be very instructive. I suggest that you give yourself a period of years in daily practice to get an easy feel for the effects and benefits that grow from this exercise.

QuoteEvery Etheric Projection I have had I felt a tug from the silver cord.

I have felt this tug too.

...connected to the back of my head.

I have never denied the "silver cord" because I had felt it and it was very real. I always thought it was so stupid of people to say it did not exist because they had never seen it. Hahahah. I have never seen the North pole... does that mean it does not exist?

Todd, I used to get vibes on exit but that faded out and went away after a while.

Am I pushing the good stuff aside by moving quickly past the vibes and going straight for the Astral Plane jugular?

?
#172
repeat the above after 7 hours of sleep
#173
Todd, what makes etheric projection more desirable than the others that you mentioned?

hi,
so could you please post a link to a good  interpurtation of the quran
and how would dhikr help me

How might Dhikr help?
There is a fair chance that if you practiced Dhikr every day for five years you could be in a position to start writing your own interpretation.
