The net is the realm of free speech. Everybody has the right to state what they believe, and you are quite free to disagree. However, you are not free to silence others because you disagree with them.

And this is, believe it or not, a good thing, since it forces people to discuss the matter to get over their differences.

Hm...? Wha? No no no... There's more to it/this than the essential. Much more. Very very much more. [:P]
Everything makes a difference, even if it is marginal. In accordance with chaos theory something insignificant to you could be all-encompassing to someone else. For one, that means that when you try to explain something abstract with a concrete example, someone who is in close connection with that concrete thing will se an effect that is more than likely undesired by you.
One needs to walk a thin line when dealing with abstract concepts and their relation to one-another since their implications can be quite profound. Another problem is that someone unaware of these concepts still will see that you speak truth, but draw wrongful conlusions from the concrete example, the example only ment by you to work as such; an example.

On more concrete levels people have highly differing experiences, interpritations, connotitions and bias. It makes no solid ground for a progressive discussion, but a good root for quarrel. (Like I see is erupting here...)

Most of my math teacher just look at me oddly when I tell them that I don't 'understand' it, yet I'm fully capable of applying it. The thing is, that their meaning of 'understand' is the ability to apply it.

So far I've been able to determine that math is a method of describing a logical system. That means that an equation needs to be interprited so that you see the logic that it represents.

Take for instance a vary simple example:
f(x)= x^2

f(x) would increase by the amount x increases if it was not for ^2. What ^2 does is multiply the value it is applied to by itself, so in the case of negative values multiplied with each other they become positive. Thefeore the sides separated by the line x=0 are mirror images of each other and we view a parable.

It is a matter of knowing what the different parts of the expression mean and what their effects are. When you see the system the expression represents, then you will have understood it. Thus each expression requires a process of interpritation and understanding of itself.
Some expressions are too complex to easily be interprited and then we can write them in another way, without having understood them, to get another perspective. In order to do this we need to know what we can do with an expression, whar rules govern it etc. These rules are simply neccessities that exist to uphold logic. Very abstract. - Maybe this is what you'd want to study?

(On a personal note, I hate math.)

He was hypothetizing, putting himself in that situation and describing what he sees. Like making a simulation in your mind.

As for my 2 cents on the situation, I think information is not dependant on physical reality and that the astral itself is a world of information. Thus death would be like an ongoing OOBE, until the astral body decays and your conscious reverts to even higher states, if you are aware of them, until you are reborn.

Dunno, but I want that hat. [:D]

Some would claim we all practice magick to a varying extent, and I would claim they are right. The method people use just varies, as well as their level of effectivity. Occultists tend to use a wider perspective of nature for this, while for instance a medical doctor utilizes mostly biology as far as he is concerned. I on the other hand utilize the medium of the internet to indirectly influence your minds in a way that I apparently assume will benefit me.

While I have no idea why you insist to insult me, I have more than one dead relative that never expressed power despite being a walking fact-book.

'Knowledge' is just subjective experience while understanding is objective.

Knowing gives birth to desire (and will tends to be to saturate desire), and thus we become slaves to the desire. Understanding frees us from desire.

Not only "seek and ye shall find", but also "you shall find what you seek", and that is as much a curse as a blessing.
If you have expectations, they will be met if you are dilligent enough, but it might be an illusion that you get instead of the truth. If you expect something to have a particular appearance, then it most probably will. Such is our power: enough to distort reality itself if we are not careful.
It is so very hard to see beyond the veil. We seem to learn by being wrong rather than getting it right. Unfortunately this is a parallell with a child learning that the plate is hot and should not be touched the hard way. =/

I prefer 93, 216 and 418 myself...

But my memory wmight be a bit off. Quite some time since I fiddled with numbers...

Still, this only looks special if you use the number base 10, decimal.

Strange... MSN messenger should work through a central server, so the connection isn't direct. It must be some sort of emulation on the human side that handles the connection, the visual representation of the client functioning as a focal point or something...

Maybe it could be used as a way to go to Astral Pulse Island? =)

$20 a gram?? [:O]
I bought a can of 20g from a local grocery store for less than 2€.
It's ment as a spice for food (mooses), but it appears to be pretty potent stuff.  Haven't smoked any of it yet, but I'll probably roll it like a cigarette like my friends showed me. Back then I took one hit for about 10 sec (Could not hold it longer. I'm a non-smoker as far as tobacco is concerned.), and that was enough to get me a bit mellow. [:)]

Only way not to get there is stopping! [:D]

For me, one of the greatest realizations I have had was something that came to me extremely subtly. No major "Aha"-experience, just something I knew: Truth exist independent of me.
This allows me to step out into the 'real' world from my previous stone, found in an understaning of Descartes' "I think, therefore I am".
Even prior to the Cartesian realization I was a man of Science, a stone hard materialist.
So I went from the physical/emotional to the mental and have now discovered the essential. =)

"Those who know" say that the "Superessentail" is what comes next, and I'm egerly researching to catch a glimpse at this world.

Quite many of the old traditions still exist here, but as most people tend to take them as granted as sunrise we don't see them as anything different. In that regard, and concidering how few people in Scandinavia are actively participating in any other religion (such as Xianity), one could claim that the majority of Scandinavia is still pagan. [:P]

Azaithoth, unfortunately facts speaks against you.

And besides, Understanding has a lot more potentiality for power than knowledge.

Welcome to Magic! / Which Witch is Which?

I think there is a blacksmith in Sweden who regards it as his religion...

As for why it is called "Asa tru" instead of "Asatro" (In Swedish you don't put spaces between two words when combining them in this regard.), I suspect it's just an English spelling of it.

In my opinion, the religion is no more far-fetched thatn Xianity.

Over here in Finland we however have the national epos called "Kalevala", and what should interest people here is that powerful sorcerers, witches and wizards are holding key roles in it. Kalevala is a quite a bit more 'down to Earth' than Asa tru, and might hold more than one grain of truth in its origin.
Would it not be interesting to study whatever magickal system they uesd back then? Especially if it has managed to spawn a whole breed of tales? [:)]

From his old posts that I have read it seems that he has enough material to write a few books on his own, so I too would like to see him. (I can't say 'back', since I was not here when he was.)
