Quote from: slernmanI have real problem with intelligent design. It's pretty simple that it makes no sense. If the world needed a creator that made this complex world then how could this creator be created. Wouldn't there have to be a even more complex creator that would create this creator. This is an ever ending cycle of intelligent design there can be no end so it would be false.

The Creator only needs a creator if He is bound by the laws of space and time.

I don't see why this "Intelligent Design" theory is even controversial. It's just something else to consider. Why is it that our system likes to keep everyone in a safe little box? Well, I'm glad to see that at least some changes are being made.

I take 2 long hot showers daily- it's an integral part of my energy work. It really does help to raise your energy levels. The benefit of each shower seems to be incremental, but over time it really does add-up.

Quote from: NayWell Veccolo, it was for fun anyways..but thanks for making me regretting putting it up.

What is it with people whom love to suck the fun out of everything?

LOL, Veccolo, our favorite fun-sucker. :)
It's true though, you have to be careful of such things. The descriptions are just WAY too overwhelmingly positive. Where's the balance?
Anyway, if nothing else Nay, it is interesting to know the real names of AP members.

Derek, ruler/leader.

Quote from: sashamashaI guess I am regressing, then.

No no no, why are you thinking that way? Didn't Swarooptheone just say that it's normal? It is normal- very typical. With practice, you'll get over it.

Quote from: NosticLOL, you think too much Telos. I say, just get your a** up in the air and enjoy the flight.

But can't that be done just as easily (if not better) in a lucid dream? At least there no one will attempt to pass laws on you.

LOL, if I've got the ability to make my physical body fly, I'll take my chances. Everyone else can go to h***. I'm flyin' and I don't care who's got a problem with it.  :)
Honestly, I'd have fun messin around with people. I'd wear a mask of course. Nobody has to know who you are.

I know bevis was just trying to make a point, but his Santa Clause argument was kind of a low blow, LOL. Actually, I think Santa might be based on an actual person. Think about it... if you were advanced enough to transport your physical body wherever you want to go, and had the ability to manifest things in the physical... you could be Santa Clause your damned self.

Quote from: TelosThis topic deserves some merit. I experienced my first AP by acting like a DBZ character in a lucid dream (I wanted to see what it would be like if I "raised my power level" and I ended up back in my bed looking out of closed eyelids).

However, I can't fathom the kind of social alienation one might have to go through in order to clear one's mind of doubt. Being a DBZ character doesn't really fit well with social life.

To illustrate, imagine taking off from the ground and flying above the streets the way DBZ characters do. What would it be like for people to see you? What kind of public reaction would there be? You would no longer be you. You would be, "the guy who flies." No one would feel on equal footing with you, so you probably wouldn't have any friends to speak of. The FAA or local government would impose restrictions on your flight, the same way they do for airplanes and other flying objects. While flying over people's houses, frightened and paranoid people would want you put in jail for "spying" on them. You would be one of the greatest outcasts to have ever lived.

Even if no one ever saw you, the circumstances would be similar. Do you know how barren and lonely the sky is? And how cold and windy it is? Do you know how loud the sound of air is when it passes you at more than 35 mph? You would probably go deaf from your ears popping at the rapid pressure differences. No one would understand you. You would be so alone.

Think carefully before being superhuman in a human world. Are you ready to accept the consequences?

LOL, you think too much Telos. I say, just get your a** up in the air and enjoy the flight.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Re: Reincatnation
February 13, 2005, 05:01:15
Quote from: knucklebrain1970Ok, Reincarnation. Supposedly, I chose to be here. Right? Well since I'm so disconnected with my true self, and no matter what method I try I can't connect, I find it hard to believe that there are 2 of me;
1. My physical Self
2. My spiritual Self

Now my physical self does not want to reincarnate again. I've had it with this planet, I don't want to come back. Sad to say that? Yes, but I'm serious.

Now if my "TRUE- SELF" wanted to come here to experience and I can't remember because I'm disconnected and probably never will be reconnected, then how the hell and I to believe that there is such thing as free will.

Do you know how sickening it is to me to learn of everyone elses enlightenment's and astral travel and to want to experience it myself, but nothing works. I feel no energy, I can't relax.

Also, what is the sense of loving someone if you are separated at death and carnate into another body?

I find the free will concept very hard to believe. I want what I want, but my true self wants different?

This is what really really really aggravates me to no end and I want to explode. Now granted, I've only been meditating for a month, if that, but how long does it take before I have the ******* answers to the questions that have been gnawing at my stomach since my inception on this planet. Yeah I'm mad, very angrily ticked off type of mad dammit

Kevin

What I can say is that with time, practice, and persistence, things start to become clearer and clearer. If some piece of information does not resonate with you, that's OK. If you try to think it all out logically, it's never going to fit together perfectly. Logic always leads to the illogical. It must because logic is based on duality- that is, a system in which everything is defined by opposing principles. If dualism, and therefore logic start with the premise of opposition, Truth cannot be found within them. Truth has no opposition- it just  IS. It is whole, perfect, and complete. Think of logic more like a path rather than a destination. It can never satisfy you for long, because eventually, it's bound to contradict itself.

In science we see how physics (the logical) leads to quantum physics (the seemingly illogical). So even science tells us that we have to go beyond the logical in order to move closer to Truth.

It's not so important that you believe in this or that or whatever. What's is of the utmost importance is an open mind and a thirst for growth and knowledge. Meditative practice can definitely take a long time before you see real practical benefits, but you must be persistent. You must have the mind-set that you WILL attain what you most desire, and that NOTHING is going to stop you. Practice every day without fail. It all adds-up to something, believe me. Never take for granted your small accomplishments. Acknowledge and celebrate EVERY millimeter of progress that you make.

If you can't imagine some great being out there somewhere that's supposed to be your higher self, just bring it down to a human level. Within everyones mind can be found what you might call "higher thoughts" and "lower thoughts". The ego can be defined by it's attachments to those "lower thoughts". The ego is not necessarily your enemy- think of it more like a spoiled child- it is always restless, complaining, never satisfied, and always wants change, but is rarely willing to make much of an effort in order to achieve that change- ESPECIALLY if that change doesn't seem "logical". I think it's very important to point-out your ego whenever it makes trouble. In regards to my meditative practice, there are many times when my ego whines and complains, telling me to give-up, that the process is taking too long etc etc etc. But there is a "higher" part of me that is always calm, patient, and wise- it just says, stay calm, be still, and keep doing what you're doing. When your ego is whining and complaining, objectify it. Think of it as a spoiled child that is a part of you, but not nearly all of you. It is something that you have purely for the sake of survival, so all it is interested in is base-level experience. You must be like a  parent with a steady resolve. This world is so very messed-up, I believe, because instead of seeing the ego as just a part of us, we take it to be totality of us. So we have a world of people being lead by their base child-selves.

As you practice daily, in time, things will inevitably make more and more sense. You become more confident in what you believe and in what you know you can achieve. Boundaries will start breaking down and a wider reality will begin to open-up for you. The key is to be relentless in your search for Truth. If what people tell you about Truth does not satisfy you, that is OK. It is something for you to know and experience for yourself; something that must come from within and resonate with you at your core.

Proving things to people, or having them prove things to you... really, that is not very important. All that matters is you achieving wholeness and fulfillment within yourself. When that happens, you can't help but be a benefit to others, weather they believe the words that come out of your mouth or not.

Quote from: Tayesin
Quote from: Nostic............ Not only that, but you'd have to do more than just say what you saw or what happened; you'd have to figure-out a way to provide people with proof that you're for real.

Not sure if it is necessary to provide such proofs to others about our experiences..  although there are exceptions to this, such as giving proofs during Messenger contact with another member, while a portion of my Awareness is projected to their house.

Other than that, if I were to project and see classified information, it is not important to find a way to prove it..  most people aren't about to believe you anyway !  Not until the majority of people can think beyond the daily grind, into far reaching concepts, will that change.

:P

I wasn't necessarily talking about proving it to people in general (ie John Q Public). I was talking about people who believe it's possible in the first place. In my mind, it would be necessary to provide some kind of proof that you have the abilities you speak of. Otherwise, anybody with a keyboard and an Internet connection could say whatever the hell they want.  :)

Yeah Frankie, it's just a game... nothing to take too serious.

Quote from: Gandalf.. is it the case that if you engage from a fully awake (c1) state and you have 100% of your faculties then you can read things no problem?

Doug

I'd tend to agree with that. If while OOB you were fully in control, fully conscious, and close to physical reality, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to read text easily. But I also assume that words become more and more meaningless the higher up you go. It seems to me that this problem is perhaps a reflection of something deeper within you. What that could be, I could only guess.
#162
Well honestly, from what I can tell, advanced projectors are rare. Most people who project aren't even in full control of the process. I believe everything you talk about is definitely possible, but you'd have to be fully conscious and fully in control. Not only that, but you'd have to do more than just say what you saw or what happened; you'd have to figure-out a way to provide people with proof that you're for real.

Tell you what- when I'm advanced enough (which shouldn't be long actually :D), I'll let you in on a government secret or two, AND provide proof.  :)

Nay, how long and how much effort would it take? Couldn't someone just take the pic I posted and add it to the list? I want it to be something that's easily available to the entire forum.

I'm not crazy about the "smile" smiley either no_leaf, but surely the "laugh" smiley is the worst offender.

Telos, man, YOU are the reason I made this thread! When you did your Arnold impression from "Different Strokes" I literally laughed so loud I wouldn't be surprised if the neighbors heard me!  :D
I'd be willing to make a poll only if I knew that it might actually make a difference. Mods, tell me if something like that would help. Personally it seems like a bit too much trouble for something so simple, but if that's what it takes...

I assume by Nay's response, that the smiley list CAN be changed or modified.

This is just a small request, but I think it'd be a really nice touch for the forums.

I find this to be a rather odd question... intriguing though. This is how I think about it: Ask yourself, can your child be your child without YOU? Or, can a result be a result without a cause?
That's how I look at it anyway...

The laugh emoticon in these forums (namely   ) is just downright awful. Man, it doesn't look like a good hearty laugh. Looks more like a weird smirk. We need something else. Can new emoticons be added?? I was thinking something like

Anyone else agree?

Wow, that was quite interesting Nex. When I was reading about your fear of cats, I was thinking, maybe you were killed by a cat in a past life-time- I'm assuming a big cat though  :). Why else would you have such an irrational fear?
#167
Quote from: catmeowWhy stop at monism? Is there a doctrine of zeroism?  In which case I might be a zeroist.  In essence, all was created from nothing, and ultimately all creation might condense back into nothingness, once it has achieved its purpose.  This is a serious remark!  There might very well be a balance and interplay in creation in which all matter and energy cancels out into nothingness?  Well I see I have to vote to comment, so on reflection I vote yes...

catmeow

I agree, but I prefer to call the "nothing" pure potentiality.
In other words, saying that nothing exists is just like saying the potential for everything exists. Some kind of something had to exist before anything in creation existed though. The first cause must have been some kind of consciousness... something that started the process.

I can recall having one OBE that involved a tunnel. I believe it started out as a dream. In the dream, I suddenly saw a light. I felt compelled to touch this light, and as soon as I did, I felt myself leave my physical body. When I got out, my primary objective was to go to heaven. So I just called-out (to God I believe), "take me to heaven". Immediately, powerful waves of energy inundated me. The waves formed a tube or tunnel-like formation, and the whole force was light blue in color. I assume that I was not energetically ready to withstand such a force, and the experience ended soon after.

One time, I do remember, I had a very particular vision. As I was waking-up, still with my eyes closed, it was like I was able to see through a circular window. All I can remember seeing was blue (like a sky), but for some reason it felt like I was looking at something/somewhere vastly vastly far away, and the feeling of energy and power that I sensed from this place was truly awe-inspiring.
#169
Well, I mean, no matter how many [apparently separate] things you have, don't they always add-up to ONE? I don't know how this could not be the case. Like all of the millions (billions?) of cells in our body add-up to make one functioning system. All of the elements and energies in existence add-up to make one universe (or multi-verse) etc etc. And all levels have to be connected or else it would be impossible for you to perceive or experience them. And if that's the case, as far as you're concerned, they don't exist.

But anyway...

Quote from: TelosI love humanity!!

Wow. That was really strange. Try saying that out loud and honestly mean it. You just want to laugh, don't you? It's so absurd.

How do you feel about humanity?

I feel that humanity in general is misguided, and has it's priorities way out of whack. But overall, you know, I feel that people are just doing what they know how to do and what they feel is right.
I'm not quite as down on humanity as I used to be when I was younger. I think a lot of that has to do with seeing myself in others. No matter who they are or what actions they perform, I can always see at least traces of everyone within myself... the ignorant, the wise, the saint, the sinner etc etc
#173
LOL, this is a logic game that's fairly pointless to argue. It all depends on your perspective. Arguments about this will only go in circles.

Quote from: TelosHow can be people be sure enough to use the word "definitely" when they're not sure how to spell it?

Are dark forces at work? We must eliminate this demon!

The same demon must be affecting your grammar.  :)

Actually, I didn't even notice the point you just brought-up. Heh, a thread about spelling properly, and Tay spells "definitely" wrong. Oh the irony! LOL

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Urania and Milton
February 02, 2005, 15:36:51
Quote from: TelosFollowing Rastus' advice, I raised my vibration and found myself in mental communication with 1674's John Milton.

Quote from: John MiltonHear my confession, young one. 'Paradise Lost,' is an elaborate fabrication, extense of creative licence exploiting an already popular base. In truth, I was the Mel Gibson of my time, who wondered if the stories of the Bible could be told in a more marketable fashion.

Although, such creation is beautiful! The nightly sessions I wrote, visited me a spirit from the East, a heav'nly dream of form, nigh, feature, a muse named 'Urania.' She had pleasant curvatures, and massive titties."

At once, I understood what he meant, for I was overcome by Urania's powerful, sharp "voice."

Quote from: UraniaBrace, but soft! I have watched o'er you, from my palace in the stars. As the children of our astral race, you are giants of thought and soul. Still a miracle, young and new, you laugh and cry without reason. You spoil your playground and your cradle; you soil yourselves. You needn't cry, for we will soon lift you up from your crib, and change you. When you are ready, we will train you properly in [Celestial Toiletry?]."

Some method of cleansing our thoughts and realities. It is too complex to put into words, but I suspect that black holes are involved.

Quote from: UraniaAnd you will follow the glorious rules we have lain out for you, for they are there for your own protection. If you do not behave, you will be spanked. Bad boy! Oh, you will be spanked!

It was at this point, for a split second, that I entered into an altered state of consciousness, and came into direct contact with Urania. I tried to learn more from her, but I couldn't stop laughing.

Sorry, I'm new at this. But I think she knew that I was ticklish.
