Hi Manuel. That entity that you encountered during an OBE three months was most probably Not just your fear. Many people report meeting hostile or negative entities during astral and ethereal projections. In fact just yesterday I sent a post to a forum on another website where a person reported an encounter with a negative
entity.
Sometimes negative entities actually attack yet most times they just try to scare a person and prevent them from projecting. In either case if you experience another encounter with this creature it is important for you to project an 'aura' of strength and confidence. Most neg entities (also called Spirit Hinderers) only want to frighten people and these beings will 'back down' and disappear if faced by a strong and determined person.
Also it could be a good idea to burn sage incense in your house or apartment. Sage wards off negative beings. Some astral projectors attempt to create a psychic shield by visualizing very bright white or blue light surrounding themselves. This psychic shield could also fend off a malicious spirit. If all else fails there is also a possibility of using magic or pyschic weapons during an astral or ethereal projection against an attacker. For imformation on magic or psychic abilities Robert Bruce's books would be a good place to start. Good luck.

(Quote)   anyways, where you say that the dream is actually an unconscious projection/OBE, that was misinterpreted by the mind... how would that be a dream at all? Well, if it was misinterpreted by the mind and I realized that while in the middle of it, is it possible for me to totally switch in the middle of the unconscious projection to make it conscious? i may be confusing... i'm just trying to understand this more.   (Quote)

To answer your question as concisely as I can .... Yes  it is possible to totally switch in the middle of an unconscious projection to make it a conscious projection. The vital piece of information necessary for this change is lucidity. Once lucid you will shortly know whether a) the dream about projection was just a dream or b) the dream about projection was actually an unconscious projection. One way to determine that it is b) = unconscious projection, is if the dream scenery starts to fade away and you begin to slowly wake up. If it is b) then try to shift you consciousness to your astral/ethereal body (which is already projected outside of your physical body).
Shifting consciousness into the astral/ethereal body is one method of projection (going out of body). This might be confusing during the first few times that you attempt it. It was for me and caused a few failures before eventual success. The important point is to stay calm and don't give up. Eventually you will become familiar with the sensations of going from dream to lucidity to out of body (projection). Some people can do it on their first try. Other people need several attempts, others might have to stay with it for weeks or even months. Don't get discouraged or frustrated. The effort Will be well rewarded. You Will eventually project and this will open up an entire new universe. Good luck.

Negative entities can be sensed when you are physical. Most often you will see a negative entity when you are out of body/projecting. If you do encounter a negative entity there are a number of options.
First you might want to try to communicate with it. Many mediums have success by talking to discarnates and convincing them that they do not belong (in the house or whatever). Essentially the idea is to make the entitiy understand that it is dead, that it is making living people uneasy or scared and it is best for everyone (Living or otherwise)for the entity to leave.
If that does not work there are various magical, pagan, religious and/or shamanistic ceremonies that 'clean' or 'purify' or 'cleanse' the area where the entity has been inhabiting. The basic idea behind each ritual is to change the energy from negative to positive. One common ritual is known as the Banishing ritual of the Pentagram. Another useful way of purifying an enclosed space is burning sage as incense.
If a negative entity still remains (especially if it is hostile, or it threatens or especially if it actually attacks) then it is certainly permissable to use 'violent' means in self defense. Magic and psychic weapons such as offensive spells and psi balls can be most effective. Note that fighting should be a last resort if all else fails. Usually just the intention to confront a negative entity with force will be enough to make the entity depart (hopefully permanently !) It might be a good idea to attempt to contact a spirit guide or guardian for advice and/or assistance. Higher powers usally seem to exert strong influence or control over negative entities (which probably are weaker creatures from the 'lower etheral planes').
In any case if you are in a projection/out of body and are in danger of being overwhelmed by a negative entity or entities then return at once to your physical body. There is a huge reserve of (biochemical and pranic/ki/chi) power stored in the physical body. When a negative discarnate is faced with such vital energy then it will be almost immediately forced to retreat and will soon be made to depart.
Fortunately most people will never encounter a negative entity. The vast majority of astral/ethereal projections are completely safe experiences.

It is worth noting that one method of inducing projections is that of projcting through a lucid dream. A lucid dream is a dream where you are consciously aware that it is a dream. So, if you have a dream about projecting, and can become aware/conscious that it is a dream, then it will be much easier to have a conscious projection. Many people maintain that some dreams are actually unconscious astral/ethereal projections.
Chris had an excelleant point by saying that the mind filters information. So it is possible that a dream (and especially a dream about projection/OBE) actually Is an unconscious projection/OBE that is misinterpretated by the mind/brain as a dream.. In that case it would be possible to project from that dream (after the dream became a lucid dream by becoming aware while still in the dream). It might seem complicated but is actually relatively simple. The flow of consciousness would go Dream Of Projection >>>> Lucid dream of Projection >>> Actual deliberate and conscious astral or ethereal projection.[8D]

Hi MeaghanEmily. It sounds thhat what happened is rqather serious. The next time that you project with the intent to gather information about a negative or hostile entity I would suggest that you first get as much information from your friend as possible. Then do a search on the internet, both with a search and by checking forums on websites looking for theories about confronting such an entity. There are, in fact, several accounts of projectors meeting, and in some cases fighting, such entities.
This may be a new situation for you but other people have experienced threatening or destructive entities before. One site that I know about that could provide useful information is MysticWeb. org  There is a forum on that site called Negative Entities. They also offer an online course in astral projection that includes magic spells and other techniques to banish or defeat negative entities.
The one activity that I would recommend is to employ a method of protection before projecting. There are several forms of protection which include a magic circle, a banishing ritual of the pentagram spell, psiballs and various psychic shields.
One other thought is that the negative entitiy is a ghost. If this is the case then a medium or psychic person might be able to detect this being. Some emdiums can forcefully banish discarnates. Other mediums are able to convince malevolent beings to 'move on'. In any event Good Luck and keep posting.

The late Robert Crookall dealt with the subject 0f bad or blurry vision at length in several of his books. He called bad or misty vision the 'Hades condition'. What he meant by Hades condition was not like Hell but rather like the misty, murky underworld of the ancient Greeks.
He collected many reports of ap/ep/obe's from dozens (or hundreds) of people and after comparing them decided that people who project in the etheric 'plane' closest to the physical world are by far the most likely to experience blurred vision, smoky landscapes, mists and clouds, etc. Though I have never had very bad vision in an ap/ep/obe I believe that this is the answer.

Hi LapsiLap [:)]
I am new to this forum but have had several projections. It is quite common for people to be confused and excited during their first out of body experience. That is the bad news. The good news is that from your description it obviously appears that you did have a conscious out of body experience. You were probably in the Real Time Zone which is called the ethereal or etheric plane by people in other forums. The confusion and distractions that you experienced are to be expected but will cause fewer problems during future projections. In any event congratulations on a first projection and good luck in the future. [:)][;)][^]

Hi everyone at Astral Pulse.
I am new to the forum. About the subject of DMT (Di-methyl tryptamine) and it being used to induse out of body experiences. There are some 'trip reports' on Erowid.org about people experiencing astral projection while using DMT. One important detail needs to be mentioned. That is that these people experience spontaneous uncontrolled projections. They usually do not know what is happening and have no control over their experience.
Usually DMT 'comes on' very quickly and the effects last only a few minutes (when it is smoked that is). The experiencer is normally overwhelmed by a flood of visual images and feelings. Though there might be some mental interaction with the visual 'images' there seems to be little, if any, conscious control. In any event DMT is a very strong psychedelic. For anyone adventurous enough to try it I would recomment doing some research first. Erowid.org and Lycaeum.org are both informative sites.  [:)][?][8D]
