Before meds, were you able to project from waking consciousness or lucid dreams or both?

And then when I went on the meds,I had a couple more projections (to astral dimensions),and then they just  stopped.

When I started practicing astral projection, I got very good results, very quickly, verything short of a full blown obe. Shortly after that I was on paxil, an SSRI(anti-dep. and anti-anx.), for almost a year. During that time I had absolutely no results with projection attempts. No vibes, no energy sensations, I could barely get into and maintain a light trance state. I ended up getting off track and pretty much stoped all together. I read an article online somewhere saying that SSRI's can make it very difficult to achieve an obe.

About a month after I was off paxil, I started practing again, and little by little got more and more results. Around 2 1/2 months is when everything returned to normal, when all the side effects of paxil where finnaly gone, and I ended up having my first obe.

Hope this helps, in some way.

That makes me think that possibly I should change my technique from astral projection,to phasing and/or lucid dream projection.

maybe I can get this thread back on track  .

Every clear night I look up at the night sky and think of the possibilities which seem out of my grasp :( .I'm getting to know the sky pretty well, and could navigate my way around,if I could only get around the meds thing.

which makes me want to ask-

Do you think that meds (SSRI's) affect phasing and lucid dreaming as well?

-'cause if they do,all hope is lost-I'm on meds long term. :x

kajalove-It's not as simplistic as you make it sound.Of course our reality is REAL-it's the creation, and sustaining of reality that we are talking about.

We quite literally create our own reality here and now-the question "is it all real?" is absolutely meaningless.Of course it will be real if you grump slap your neighbor  .We create our reality to be that way.Of course it it solid-this is a given.

Thoughts have energy. They are not just the electrical firing of neurons.Once you have some experience in AP/OBE,and then start to have your reality widen and expand (including the physical) you see how true this is.Once you get to a certain state of accomplishment in AP/OBE,events of strong syncronicity start to happen.I'm not talking about simple examples of syncronicity, but major "Holy friggin crap!" types of syncronicity. You also begin to see levels of  meaning in physical life,in everyday situations, that remind us of the depths of interconnections that life offers. It is a tye of "strengthening our connection to the unknown".

A simple example,of how we create our reality,on a minor scale,is the negative projections we toss around onto each other. We label eachother everyday is through childish gossip about others that aren't around to defend themselves.Iin your reality, your
belief system
that person becomes neatly labeled and filed away. That becomes true for YOU,but not neccesarily for the other person

An example of how we create own reality on a major level would include such things as how our brain interprets what is basically moving, vibrating, electrical energy on a quantum scale, and interprets, and therefore percieves a quanta of elecrical energy to be a "tree",a "table",a "cloud",etc, etc, etc,ad infinatum. The infinite potential living energy becomes neatly filed away, once again.

it's fine to be sceptical-that is actually how we should be-just as long as the definition of "sceptical" isn't a form of circular reasoning, created by the ego, out of fear of it's own destruction.

I was mainly projecting from waking conciousness.I would lay down to relax and this "certain feeling" (can't really describe it-it isn't like any other feeling I've experienced. It's sort of like a "depth",and almost a "mystical" quality to it :?  ).

The projections were actually waning in regularity for a number of years (about a decade).I started out with severe,HEAVY vibrations when I was 15,after trying techniques descibed in R Monroe's "journeys out of the body".I was just buzzing around everywhere constantly. Then the experiences got less regular, but more intense, and much more vivid (like the ones above).Over the years, the "naturalness" sort of faded away, gradually replaced by less regular, but more amazing experiences.

And then when I went on the meds,I had a couple more projections (to astral dimensions),and then they just  stopped.

I barely lucid dream anymore, and haven't had an OBE in over a year!

what the hell is going on?

and how can I get around it?

One of my ideas (based on Journeys out of the Body),is that I had a lot of pent up sexual energy when I was young, and now I don't

I can run energy through my body, and still meditate frequently, but just can't get those projections like I need to.

could my guides be testing me,as is to say "let's see how you gather your resources-what do you do NOW?"

I projected in the RTZ to the sun, about 5 years ago:

I was relaxing early in the morning, and I felt astral awareness creeping in,so I buzzed out of my body, down through the floor of my room, and into the kitchen. It was just after sunrise, and it might have been something about the fresh morning light, but everything was more beautiful than I could have imajined. It was like everything was shining from within. Then I looked out the window and saw the sun rising over the cloudy  horizon. As soon as I saw that,I flew through the window, and up into the sky, passing through the clouds mentioned earlier. As I reached deep space, the blue sky gradually turned to black, and the sun appeared to be brighter, due to the increased contrast of the blackness of space, versus the bly sky on earth.
I Flew deep into space, headed directly toward the sun, which looked like a shining beacon in space, surrounded by it's outer corona.I picked up speed, travelling at incredible speed, but didn't seem to be making any real progress,so I willed myself there. Then I was instantly transported near to the sun (I would estimate the distance to be several hundred-thousand miles from it).
It was bright, but somehow it didn't affect my astral vision negatively, as it would basically BLIND my physical eyes.It looked like an ocean of boiling, roiling fire, and noticed the strange magnetic patterns of 'fire' caused on the surface.

Then,a mind-split effect occured-I was suddenly aware of my foot propped up  in bed in an odd way,and was instantly drawn back to my body.I awoke, and said "holy crap!" to myself, then went downstairs to look out the window.the sun,and clouds were basically the same, except for a slight shift in the suns position on the horizon (a little higher),and the clouds (changed a little, but same style of cloud, and same basic positioning).

and another RTZ experience,a bit after the above one:

I felt the usual astral awareness creeping in again,so I fired myself out of my body at super-speed-traght up into the sky,and through some stratus clouds.I was travelling so fast that within less than 10 seconds,I was in the blackness of space.I flew towards some star formations, but then noticed there were more stars to my upper-right,so I did a graceful turn, and gained even more speed.
And yet despite the speed I was travelling at,I NEVER noticed a single change with respect to how much closer I got to the stars.I passed what must have been some gigantic space rock I could just barely see in the distance,to my right.I figured it must have been huge because I was travelling very, very fast, but I still passed it at a fairly casual pace.
Then a sense of fear of going too far came over me,and I was suddenly pulled back to my body.
I awoke amazed, and went to the library that day to consult some star charts and their monthly positions.I found out that I was flying towards the approxximate centre of our galaxy. That is why there were more stars at my upper right.

These experiences are the honest to god TRUTH. :) .I'll never forget them, and I do have more plans-among them to enter the centre of the sun, visit mars, and other local planets, and to visit stand-out deep sky places such as the pleiades (SP?) star cluster, and the orion nebula.

However, the RTZ projections used to just happen naturally, and ever since I went on meds for anxiety (anti-depressants),I've been shielded from sensing/travelling to the astral regions, and barely even get any lucid dreams any more

I can't just go off them either (chronic problem  ).So I've really been searching for ways to get back into it.I had a dream recently (See My thread in the "Dreams" section of astral pulse forums) that started to point the way,but I need MORE advice from whatever source I can find. :?:

I commonly hear voices (no,I'm not nuts).Usually just short sentences, related to what I'm doing, life situations.

They are particularily strong when I'm painting or composing music.

And in meditation,it gets much stronger as well.

wow!

thanks redcatherine-that certainly clears up some aspects of it.

and about dreams leading the way to discovering the merkaba:

that's what happened to me actually.I was seaching during physical life for ways to transcend beyond useless belief systems, and to open doors somehow to a higher way of existance.

Then I had a dream about an ancient gateway device to other planes of existance.

it was called "THE HOLLOW STAR".I had no clue what it meant, until my search led me to a picture of a person sitting inside a star formation.

then it clicked:   bingo

physical places "most real"?

not by any stretch of the imajination.

more real than the dreamscape maybe.more permanent (relatively),but the non-physical dimensions are just as "real" as any physical place.

"real" is a subjective term-the "real-time zone" isn't a physical "place",but it is very real.

Multi-dimensionality means that there are other planes of existance that are just as "real" as any physical place, just inherently different-made of faster, more subtle energy than the physical dimension.

I am actually nothing more than flesh and guts, etc

physical reality is all that exists, and we are living  pointless lives ending up as us being worm food.then the worms die,and I suppose other worms eat them too.

with this being a lie,it also happens to be the world view of the majority of the western worlds population. Is it any wonder why things are such a mess?

there are no consequences to our actions.

and BTW-I'm actually Jason Alexander, and I'm an actor and an architect.

I've been projecting on and off for about 14 years, and even I feel like a newb.

and the fact is that I am: there is just so much to an expanded sense of reality, and  to really understand it all takes many, many years.Although due to the infinity which opens for us during OBE/AP it is actually impossible to understand it all.

Non-physical dimensions can be very confusing, due to our ingrained ideas of reality having a certain solidity and stability.Even our basic sense of how to move the physical body can get in the way when we realize that in an OBE or AP we have no physical body. This leads us to say:

"damn,NOW what?" :? .

the solution is to be patient, and open to whatever reality may throw at you.Don't get down on yourself,or let anone get you down!

I know it can be difficult, but try to embrace the idea that we are in essence multi-dimensional beings.

Go with the flow, and try your best to destroy the fears that may rise.

And the image of the grandmother could be seen as an archetype of the "wise old woman" helping you to expand your sense of reality.

The background of the dream, involved me yesterday being in another forum (for musicians),there was a thread that asked something like "in the decomposing sludge of your life what are you?"

I thought "hmmm,an interesting,if rather resigned  and hopeless       sounding type of question".

I thought I could add a positive note to the thread (or just wierd everyone out   ).My  response (which probably triggered this dream) was-"I am a luminous,multi-dimensional lifeform. My physical body is mostly made of water-however,on a quantum scale,It's actually more like a musical note"(on a quantum level,EVERYTHING is basically just a vibration of moving electromagnetic energy).

I KNOW this.I've known it for many years, but over the years,I've temporarily forgotten how to project. This is where the dream comes in:

This triggered a very unusual type of dream. It involved me "crossing over" to different dimensions, which were very real places, that had a certain indescribable "depth of feeling" to them.I knew that they were places, not just weird, exotic fantasies of the mind. All I had to do was recall that certain "deep","real" (for want of better term) feeling of the place, and then relax. My dream-physical body became warm and heavy, then dissapeared, while I focused inward. Then I was there, and it was just as simple as that.

I had certain friends to visit there, and certain tasks to accomplish before I returned. The return provided an extremely interesting possibility-the physical manifestation of astral objects.Just before I returned to the physical dimension,I  "pulled" (for want of better term again) on the object-pulled it towards my physical body, then forced it to "bloom" (want of better term once again!) in the dream-physical realm.

interpretation:
The return aspect of the dream seems to either point to astral to physical object manifestation,or astral to physical event majick (or both). What I find very interesting, and important for astral travel is the importance of the feel of the non-physical dimensions. These feeling are basically IMPOSSIBLE to really describe-direct experience is the only way to know what I'm talking about (the thread about "meta-emotions" could shed some light on this).

What I'm thinking now,is that I should try my best to recall the "feel" of AP,and also to recall the feeling of the body "falling away",opening a kind of doorway to the astral dimensions.

Do you have any similar experiences of any thoughts which could furthur clarify the importance of those "meta-emotions"?

...and the importance of the KNOWLEDGE that these are very real places, just not PHYSICAL places?

the "becoming heavy",and "falling away" feeling of the physical body?

the manifestation of astral to physical objects? (the ascended master St. Germaine was said to be able to do this)?

thank you for the links redcatherine.I will certainly look into those techniques by Dr. Joshua David Stone.I did a quick search on amazon.com and noticed that he has much knowledge on the subject (and it seems that you do too   ).

and although it would be nice if there was a group I could join in this effort,I don't know of any where I live (backwater town in B.C. Canada). Therefore,it will have to be a "solo flight" for me.

how does one go about developing their merkaba?

I've made a few half assed attempts, based on a few websites    ,but judging by what I've seen in those clips,I've got A LOT of work to do.

their are just too many steps for me to understand all at once, and I strongly feel that I don't even know a portion of what I need.

the clips are certainly inspirational, and it's nice to hear that they confirm what you yourself has seen.

very interesting experience MajorTom (is ground control around there w/you somewhere?  :)  ).

these types of experiences have happened to me several times.

One of the most memorable was last year, when I "awoke" in my room from about 15 years ago,in the apartment we used to live in.Everything was very normal looking (not like most dreams).I thought "oooo-kayy...this isn't supposed to happen".I walked out into the hall, and into the diningroom area.My younger parents were there, talking to the ancient greek philosopherSocrates    .He didn't seem like the usual mindless dream character-he seemed more "real" somehow.
I told Socrates "I'm not supposed to be here. This is the past!".
He then replied in a very un-surprised,matter-of-fact answer "time really is all one".Not knowing if he was possibly a guide "in cognito",or actually Socrates :?   :)  I asked him to teach be about the nature of reality. He said "this is where a pension would be useful-I have a female student who was out of her body for 3 weeks".I thought "holy crap!" to myself.
 I'm too young for a pension though.I'm 29

usually when I make an exit,I either fire myself out of my body like a bullet (thus getting far away from my body, and avoiding the pull),or if I exit near it,I send out a "rope and guide" that is sufficiently far enough away from my body to not be part of the area effected by the pull.
#192
I've been able to see auras around people ever since I started astral projection. It's like it "awakened" something inside me.

It is always much easier to see to see these aspects in a crowd,or emotionally charged situation.I think I tend to pick up on other peoples emotions somehow.

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / merkaba
January 07, 2005, 15:17:26
I've made a few attempts at it,but i have a strong feeling that it is very, very difficult to activate your merkaba.

However, they've only been half-assed attempts so far

I think I should learn more about sacred geometry. It's been said that knowledge is power.

I have trouble visualizing precise angles, and remembering all the steps-I saw a website about Merkaba that said it's as difficult as building an aircraft in your garage.

This is my first time posting here since the site was changed (looks good by the way :)  ).

about a year and a half ago (my last AP,due to anti-anxiety meds   ),I had an incredible astral experience that relates to this topic.shed some light on what happened if you can:

I spontaneously was "given" a technique for astral projection in which I combined "astral breathing" techniques while I was lifting away from my body (exhaling/rising/repeat).I passed through the ceiling of my room, which became a water-barrier (astral doorway).after I left the watery ocean type area,I found that I was in a kind of dark grey darkness. Then,I noticed that something BIG was coming through to the area I was in.It was a massive 2-headed dragon.I was terrified!!  It shape-shifted into a dark, humanoid form and, "gave" me a picture of who it was.The picture showed me a black and white illustration of a powerful dragon, with long curving necks, and massive body and tail. The name for this creature was a symbol:  <, and C (like a sideways U),,both connected, one over the top of the other, to the right side of a vertical line .

I was so terrified that I decided that if it is a lower astral entity,i could escape it be entering higher levels.I told myself "I need to experience an ascention of conciousness".I then came to an area that could only be described as being made of light, with shimmering transparent colors mixed in with the light.

then someone else in the house started talking loud, and i was drawn back, but just before I entered my body again,I was shocked to realize that the shapeshifter was WAITING BESIDE MY BODY!.I quickly  dove into my body, while the shape-shifter was softly chuckling at my terror.

needless to say,it was quite an experience, but I haven't been able to shed furthur light on the situation by returning, due to a severe kind of "numbing" that the meds seem to have on my energy levels/astral sensitivity while in physical (like I could reach the "edge' of the astral just by relaxing and meditating).

I would like to add that while I haven't been able to project for some time to return to this 2 headed dragon (I can't believe I said that),I have been drawn, coincidentally (or syncronicity) to a series of novels of a man called "the dragon reborn".a possible interesting "trickle-down from the astral" effect.

anyone, please try to shed light on this situation!

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / the nature of Time
August 27, 2004, 14:16:03
Our brain's physiology operates on a specific, highly focused frequency of the greater reality.

the 'definate' nature of the lower frequency physical universe (versus the higher "subtle realms") also causes it to be limited in it's ability to process and store data (as remarkable as the brain is).

however, modern physics tells us that there is no such thing as absolute time, and reality itself is not solid and static, but even the most mundane object is alive with movement-creation and destruction on a faster and larger time scale than our basic perception allows.

and I've learned from a guide that time is actually a unified phenomenon.time is all one (the future/present/past always exists, and is always evolving).

this leads me to the conclusion that time is highly malleable, and I've recently read reports of people that seem to experience "time slips" where they will temporarily slip into the past, and then slip back.

do you think, that by a progressive spiritual evolution of our minds,we can harness this ability, and "ride the currents of time" that lay beyond our illusion of linear time?

someone,please answer...

hmmm[?]...

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / Merkaba...
August 27, 2004, 13:49:48
I've been looking here and there on the internet for information about MERKABA (body of light) meditation.

it seems to be a fine way to progress beyond the "dross" of human society, and a way to transform our conciousness into a state of much higher vibration, and a way to reclaim our true freedom, but it does seem to be extremely complex.

it involves detailed steps and breathing (17 breaths)/visualization/focusing/posture techniques.

I'm wondering if anyone else has insight into this subject, and can lead me to a source of more information (teachers,books,etc...).

...I was holding one of those Safeway 'break-open tickets', they give out sometimes.I wanted to win another $10 safeway gift card,so I tried to imagine/feel the 3 images being in the card.instead,I accidentally imagined 3 of the 'airmiles' logos.I felt it was solid enough, and too late to change.

then I sat down on a bench, opened the ticket...

...there were the airmiles logos.3 of them in a row!

...too bad i don't have an airmiles card[:P]

wierd,eh?[8D]

anyone done anything similar?
what do you think?

first,I'll describe this interesting dream I had awhile ago,and haven't been able to figure out.

I saw a picture of a sufi master, who was sitting in meditation.then he took his hands, put them at certain angles relative to eachother, and tilted his head a little to the left.

then he started to crackle all over w/blue electrical energy, and started to smile, because the posture caused him to be able to channel very powerful energy, that also caused very uplifting emotions.

has anyone familiar w/sufism ever heard of such a thing?

before that,I knew nothing of sufism, but was looking for ways to raise energy using different techniques.

a few days ago I suddenly became lucid while my body was asleep (I notice that this happens more,if I meditate frequently).I flew up out of my body, through the ceiling, which,if I do this during concious projection, usually sends me through a barrier of some kind, into the astral realms.

this time I ended up in a mountainous area (no surprise, since I moved to a mountainous area in the physical world about 2 years ago).I came to a building and went inside.there was a woamn at a desk.I asked here "what is this place?" I asked several times.she looked at me like I was nuts, and said "you should know! you've been coming here for 3 weeks!"[:O]
