I am going to have to go with Sarah on this one.

Well it is only temporary so why not just relax and enjoy the experience while you are here. Accepting it and learning from it will make you much happier than fighting something you have no control over.

Quote from: thenoobI was thinking about how becoming an expert in the astral would make death a less scary concept,

but then I wondered, what would happen if one was out of body and their physical body died? Would they be stranded?

Well people die in their sleep all the time. What about them?

Where else are they going to go? Detroit?

If they have been very, very bad.

Quote from: HypernicusAdrian Cooper writes that killing animals even for eating them are destroying a bit of ourself and everything else, and it will hit us back by the law of karma. This goes for every living creature. But why then are there animals who exists only to eat meat?

We live in a predator universe. Everything must consume from other things. There is also a balance. The predator exists to ensure that the prey does not over populate, destroying their food supply, then the entire prey population would starve.

Humans are not really designed to consume meat. Do we have claws for catching other animals? Do we have teeth for ripping and biting raw flesh? Would you even think about eating a raw dead animal? Could your stomach handle that? On the other hand we do quite well with eating fruits and vegetables. We can get everything we need from them. Being the conscious creatures we are, given the choice which should we choose? Which causes less suffer? Which is more economical both $$ and environmentally?

Do you know where most meat consumed comes from? Most animals raised for meat do not live a natural life, but rather a life of suffering brought on by man. Is that what you wish for animals? A life of suffering just so you can enjoy the taste of its flesh?

Do I think that eating animals has a karma effect? I would say yes. Do I think it will destroy you and damn you? No. If it is so bad then why are we placed here, in a world where everything must take from others in order to survive?

It sounds like energy to me as well. You don't have to do energy work specifically for your energy system to become more active. You have been meditating, so you are becoming more aware. This can make you more aware of what is there as well as increase your energy.

As to your question if this is related to chakras, well yes, much like blood is related to the heart. Chakras are like the organs of the energy system. If you are interested in learning more about chakras do a search online. There seems to be many websites giving fairly decent information. I don't really have any certain one I look at, but having done a few quick searches most seem to be a good place to start learning.

Doing energy work is up to you, but it does not have to be anything extensive if you don't want to put a lot of time into it. You can do it while you are stopped at a red light, waiting in line, at break, sitting at a desk at work/school, or just any where, any time you can take a few moments to focus more on your body. You can start simple by just being more aware of your energy body and feeling the energy moving through your body.

Yeah, the things you have to do to get on tv.

Did you ever see The Family Guy episode with Popeye? That was funny.

Yeah, I don't think I will read those. I know enough about female genital mutilation to know I don't want to read all about it this morning. It is terrible and I can't believe it goes on.

What about male genital mutilation, aka circumcision? I can't believe they still do that to baby boys.

It all has to do with what makes you feel comfortable at the moment. You can project from any where and most likely in any position. My first projection was while I was sitting in class at school.

I can see where projection from on your stomach could be helpful for some people. I think most people try to move out the way they are facing. So on the back most people try to move upward. On the stomach you can let gravity help you out. Not that it really does, but your mind is accustom to the law of gravity so it is more able to accept you falling than flying. So while on your stomach you might find it easier to "fall" through the bed to get out. But it is entirely whatever you feel works best for you.

Quote from: NayI feel very alert and awake when seeing scenes.  That's the cool thing with me, I would think I was awake because I felt so alert, then I would realize I was already out-of-body.  Watching scene, almost always 'pops' me right to the scene with no fuss or muss.

...

Anyhoos..  Just thought that was interesting and wanted to share

Thank you for sharing. I wish I knew then what I know now. It would have been so easy to just "step" out into these scenes. But I had no idea of such things at that time.

But it is really good for you. Look what it did for Popeye!

maybe you are eating the wrong types of lettuce.
I never eat iceburg but I love romaine. Romaine is my
favorite. Arugula is good too, very spicy. And I love mache.

LOL Maybe I should not have said I can't stand it. Iceburg is not worth buying reguardless of how cheap it is. Romaine and Arugula are good, for lettuce.   I don't think I have ever had mache. I will have to look into that.

I still prefer spinach, though.

My favorite food is salad. I love lettuce.

I use to like lettuce until I started using spinach in its place. Now I can't stand lettuce. Next time you make a salad try using spinach instead. Spinach has a lot more nutrients than lettuce  and is a lot better for you. I like its texture and taste better in salads (and everything else in my opinion).

I use to have the same thing happen to me when I was younger. I would be fully awake yet I could see things, usually wooded landscapes. All I needed was darkness and it they would come right away. At night I would go to bed and watch the scenes. I don't know if this was hypnogogic imagines or not because like you I would not be in the in between state but rather wide awake.

I was just a child when this happened and I became scared that I might see something unpleasant since I did not really know what was going on. So I slowly was able to make it stop. I urge you not to do the same just because of fear because I deeply regret blocking this out now. Fear is a foolish reason to stop something like this. I suggest to just relax, enjoy it, and explore it.

No, have you?

I like this quote:

"The moment you come to trust chaos, you see God clearly. Chaos is divine order, versus human order. Change is divine order, versus human order. When the chaos becomes safety to you, then you know you're seeing God clearly." - from Spiritual Madness by Caroline Myss

The "higher truths" cannot be understood with the "logical thinking mind". This is something that truly has to be experienced. I have had experiences that my "physical thinking mind" cannot begin to understand. Yet I experienced them and a deeper part of me understands. This in lies the problem with religion. Someone at some point had a spiritual experience. This person then tried to express these experiences to people that could not possibly fully understand simply because they had no reference to understand. They only had the "thinking mind" to try to comprehend, which cannot. To me, all religions hold some truth, but no religion is all truth. Truth is something to be experienced. It is within you. So study those religions and philosophies you find of interest, but strive for experience. Religion is merely a stepping stone to help you get started, not something to cling to.

Let us hope that a similar process doesn't occur here or anywhere. This practice is a violation of the U.S.'s founding principles.

True, but what's new?
