A few years ago, maybe 6 or 7, I came across a book about an eastern monk who was born legally blind. He was not totally blind just legally, I think anyway. He somehow healed his eyes so that now he has perfect vision. I wish I would have bought it but at the time I did not know much about energy or many of the things I know now so I sort of thought it was a scam. I do not remember the book but you might still be able to find it somewhere.

I am glad to hear that your eye sight has improved. Are you still doing the same thing or have you tried something different?

I have had glasses since I was in the 5th grade, I am 24 now. I would love to be able to get my eyes back to good vision, I cannot see very well at all without them. Keep us informed everyone as to what is helping.

I hope that my other post did not come off as being too strongly negative or against the book. Hard to tell on message boards about such things. I was just throw out some questions to think about. I do agree with your point. I am not saying that what they did was really wrong. For the most part when they showed themselves to the people they did not claim to be gods, they merely said things like, "You are going against God's will" or something like that. This to a less knowing race would appear to be God talking to them, which in an indirect way it kind of is. I am not sure which would be better, to give them something that they could understand by sending Jesus as they claim to have or landing a ship and talking with people face to face. Either would be a great event. Both would be teaching the truth. Yet one seems more open and honest than the other. But they did not really like to interfere, but yet they did influence them. It is really hard to see this clearly as we are not too aware of the actual state of mind of humans during these times. Now space ships and aliens are understandable to us, but what about to people in the past? The one thing that I really wonder about this is what has happened on the other planets that they have done this to? Did it bring about restrictive dogmas as it has done here or did it work out better? If they get the same results over and over then I would assume they would not do it. If they do get dogmas every time then why would they do it? In all honesty I cannot really offer a better way to do it other than to be open and honest and talk face to face, but this could possibly have worse outcomes, especially if you wish for them to find the right path on their own.

Although it would have been nice to have been given more revelations I can understand why he was not. For one they clearly are for free will. They want us to make our own choices and figure things out. Two, things might actually be as simple as they are put. We have problems and there is really just one thing that can be done and that is for the people to simply demand a change. Three, it is possible to have this paradise on Earth, to have peace and harmony but all such things must be worked for and not just given to us. Plus we are our own unique planet so we need to make our own unique society. The universe would be a boring place if all planets were exactly alike. If these aliens just went to each planet and set up things just like it is on their planet it would be nice, but since no one dies and everything would be the same after awhile it seems things would be boring. And I think that it would go against the Universal Law, which seems to point to the fact that life is a journey not a destination. Even though the aliens are advanced I have a feeling there is still more to evolve to and they do not want to totally control that evolution incase we should find something new.

A WORLD WITHOUT MONEY!! I have actually thought about this many times over the past several years. I have thought how great it would be, but it seemed like just a dream that was not possible. Now after reading the book and seeing that if this is true that it is possible I have new hope. Just think about all things that money produces: a lot of crime, pollution because it is more profitable not to advance to pollution free technology, currupt national leaders who get in it for the money, people in jobs they hate because they want a good pay check, whole nations where most of the population is starving even though the world as a whole can produce more than enough food, homelessness, people who have to suffer health problems because they cannot pay for medical treatment, people having to worry they they will not be able to afford medical treat if something should happen, and so much more that I do not have time to list. Just think about it. Seriously sit back and think about it. And then think about what it would be like to live in a world where people are concerned about each other's welfare and not about their next pay check. It could be such a wonderful world. Maybe it will be someday if enough people can see that it does not have to be like it is now.

If you actually take a look you may be surprised at how much our society is based on money. After reading this book I have noticed a lot. I usually listen to the news on  the way home from work. I noticed that money is talked about a lot, how much a company is making or loosing, how much a government has or taxes, etc. Then I started noticing how much I think about money. I was surprised here as well. I think about it several times during the day, about having money to pay bills, about getting a better paying job, what would I do if I won the lottery, and many more. I think this has helped me notice this and be able to direct my thoughts to more positive things. Once you are made aware of something you can really be surprised.

If I was in the same situation I would probably have been just like him. I am sure I would have been too overwelmed at the time to think about questions. Of coarse once I got home I would be kicking myself for not asking things. It would be an awsome experience to have. And I would be greatful for what I was given and able to witness.

I have just started reading The Hobbit by Tolkien. I watched the Lord of the Rings movie and afterwards had to run out and buy all the books as well as The Hobbit. I must say that I am enjoying it. The writing style is so nice and easy to read, very enjoyable. Different than what I am use to.

Before this I had been reading the Necroscope series By Brian Lumley. This is about a man who has the gift to talk to the dead. He also learns a few other gifts. There are two organizations, one British the other Russian. They are people with special gifts (see the future, etc) who work for their countries, the British to protect against the bad guys and the Russians basicly to take over the world. Now throw in some vampires, who are not the  typical Hollywood vampires, and you have a good story.

Seems I have a little bit different taste than others on here.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Awesome website!
June 06, 2002, 13:25:08
I was reading the intro on the site and I came to the part about his dream with the moon and the rings. I found this weird because the other night I had a dream, it became rather lucid which is odd for me. Everything was black except the moon which was full, there was nothing else. Then this blue/white neon glowing ring broke from the moon and the moon went away leaving just this ring. Then the ring split into another ring and these two rings kind of danced/moved around. Then this face appeared behind the rings, a female face in full color. The rings faded and the face became more vivid. I then woke up but the dream let an impression on me, like I should remember it. Not saying they are connected but it is odd that it was similar.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / End Times?....
June 06, 2002, 06:41:42
Please keep in mind that since the death of Jesus they have always thought that it was going to be the end of time. Many thought he would return soon, not over 2,000 years later. Personally I do not see why God would have a hand in destroying his creation. He may let man destroy most of himself but I truly believe that some will go on to have a new beginning and hopefully create a moral and peaceful society. Just keep an open mind and do not get worked up about something. Why even bother worrying about it. If it is going to happen then there is nothing that you can do about it so enjoy life.

#1756
Some thing else I wanted to add. You would think that since he was give the chance he would have asked where man originated. Where and how did man get here? But no actual answer is give. All that is said is that God created mankind. How? Where since they say that no man originated on Earth according to the aliens?

Well I finished reading the online book about the abduction yesterday and have been pondering it. I really do not feel like I can make a call as to it being true or not. I hate to call someone that I do not know a liar so I will pretty much keep this up in limbo with so many other things that may never be answered. The importance of this is not if he was actually abducted or not but the message. The book has a very good message. These are things that I have thought about for awhile.

The thing that leaves me doubting that this is true is because aside from the history lessons they really do not tell us anything that we do not already know. Yes our political systems are corrupt. Yes our society is materialistic. Yes there is a love of money. Yes journalist are sensationalist. The aliens only point to the problems in our society without telling us how we can actually do anything about it. I would think that if they were so advanced they would have had some knowledge that could help us instead of just giving one man the mission to write a book to point us in the right direction. Well they do give us one idea which in all honesty is basicly from the 60's and 70's protests of sitting around stopping people from doing work. And granted if everyone did this then the governments would have to listen to the people, but when is the last time the entire population agreed on one thing. To get people active is impossible. Most people would rather remain comfortable in their material world.

Though in the aliens defense, this is really a good way to bring about slow change. By planting ideas into the society. With any luck they will be accepted by the populace in several years. But if you read the book you will see they have done similar things before and the ideas got distorted.
One thing I find funny about this is their stance on religions. They tell the abductee that religions are hindering us. That they are untrue and restrictive. Yet these aliens are the ones who planted the seeds for the religions by coming to earth and showing themselves as god. Then they further hurt this by playing into the religion by sending the "messiah". So how can they play both sides of the fence?

This brings me to another point. Assuming that all this is true, then why should we for one minute believe them? They have clearly decieved us in the past as mentioned above. They would show up here and pretend to be god. Then they send Christ to lie to us more. Though their intensions are for the good they are still deceptive and pretty much flat out lie. They talk about Universal Law, but lieing must not be wrong according to it since they seem to do it so much to the less evolved humans. They come here during a time when religion is in the fore front and pretend to be gods. Now they show up when space travel and UFOs are common talk in our society. So are they truly who they say they are or are they just pretending again?

This book is a good read and is enlightening. To one that is not so aware of the troubles of society then this can be a real eye opener. It does have a good message. But if this really happened or not is not very easy to say. I certainly could not believe this just by reading it, as the aliens expect us to do. (Ha)  But it does add something to think about, other civilations out there and what their spiritual path is.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Death
June 05, 2002, 06:19:02
Do realise that there is more beyond the body than "heaven and hell". Yes there does seem to be areas that reflect the idealized heaven from religions and there are places that are hells. I do not think that when everyone dies they go to "the light" or fall into fire. Everyone is at a different spiritual maturity. Some just could not stand to be in a highly spiritual place. They just are not developed enough. That does not mean they cannot reach it, but they need to deal with some things and grow before they can. So each person gravitates toward a region that they are intune with. As they develop, if they choose to, they move higher up. If this is not true, if there are not many different planes, then were are we going when we project?

#1759
I have started reading the online book. I must say that it is interesting. Believable yet unbelievable at the same time. I think that it probably does not matter if it is true or not but instead concentrate on the message as so far it does touch on some important topics. I will post more when I have finished reading it. Thank you for sharing this.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Death

Originally posted by Frank:

With myself, for example, more and more times it is happening to me where I sort of begrudgingly come back to the physical due to some physical body demand. I'm even getting to the stage where I'm beginning to think that having a physical body is a bit of a burden.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm suicidal or anything. No, far from it. I'm still very positive and upbeat about things. It's just that the more familiar I become with the Astral, the duller physical life becomes: you can't really travel anywhere of any real interest; you can't fly; you have to eat and breath; work long hours every week just to keep a reasonably-sized roof over your head, etc., etc.

By comparison, the Astral is a far more exciting and rewarding place.

Yours,
Frank

I know exactly what you mean. Even though I do not have all the astral experience you do I still find the physical rather boring and very much a burden. I enjoy the few times I get a chance to leave this place and travel to the other deminsions. Unfortunately because the physical is such a burden I do not get a lot of time to "take a break from it". I am kind of careful about saying such things though. I am afraid that someone will take it the wrong way and think I am suicidal or something. I will be happy when I am free of this physical burden though.

So my question is - what level is the consciousness and mind at when we encounter death?

I think it will have a lot to do with our state of mind at death. But as Frank as stated you are not really your physical body, it is just a vehicle. From my experiences out of body, your consciousness is actually (or can be) alot more open than when in your physical body. After experiencing this being the physical body can seem rather dull, boring, and burdensome.

You bring up an interesting question about dieing in your sleep. Something to think about, though not worry about. When you die you will not be in  a dream state. You will have your consciousness so you will be able to tell what has happened if you seek.

I did not mean that we would revert back to no knowledge at all. I sure do not mean that we should live in caves. I am sure we would have enough smarts to build shelter (aka houses) and make clothes and blankets etc. Yes I know that to live as such would mean sacraficing a lot, but when you think about it is it really all that much. Sure tv, movies, computers, cars, etc are nice but not necessary for life. In fact I think they kind of get in the way of what is really important for many people. I feel I could live just fine without these things. I am one that likes to be out in nature anyway so such a lifestyle is desirable to me, though I am well aware that many people would not enjoy it. As far as life expectancy, well we all die sometime. Just because you are expected to live 70 years does not mean that you will. You could die tomorrow, though I hope not. Personally, and I realize most people will not see as I do, but I think that we will live as long as we need to here on the physical. I would rather live 20 good years than live to be to 100 and be crippled and falling apart for most of that time. I do not see death as a bad thing. I eagerly a wait it as it is not an end but a wonderful new begin to explore other planes of existance. And personally I am kind of bored of this plane.
It really does not matter what the culture is like as far as technology, I would just like to see a change in the human spirit to be more loving and caring, to evolve. If we can do that it really does not matter if we are hunters or computer techs.

This can be a very hard problem to deal with, but not impossible. My suggestion is practice concentrating throughout the day, not just want you want to project or meditate. Whenever a stray though enters your mind just let it roll off of you or deal with it, but most importantly do not get frustrated about it. Just remain relaxed and try to keep your mind clear. Like most things the more you practice the better at doing it you will get. If you have a problem with songs getting stuck in your head, and who does not, then turn the music off or switched to classical or talk. I have done this and I find it has really helped. I usually listen to news or instrumental music now as opposed to rock, r&b, etc. Classical music usually has a calming effect which can help you as well.

Good Luck!

I totally understand being distracted. :)  It takes some practice to be able to control your energy while engaged in a sexual act. Really you have to change your view, or rather if you practice your view will change, from what is commonly viewed about sex. If you have already done energy work then it is not too hard to do, especially since you have a wife and will not be with a new partner very week, well I assume you will not but in this day and age ... well it is none of my business but it is easier with just one partner.

The Tantric/Tao practices really help with those feelings of needing to "get off" many times. Well I cannot say a lot about Tantric as I have only studied Tao but I assume they are basicly the same. They can also be rather healing and bonding, especially if you discuss and learn these things together. I have seen several books that are for couples to read together to learn these practices. I think that since you are interested in energy work you will find it beneficial to bring this into your sex life. Whatever you do I wish you luck.

Edit: I wanted to add that what you have experienced, the strange feeling and the satisfaction with sex even without orgasm, are all common for when you start pulling your sexual energy up. I experienced the same things when I started.

There seems to be so much hate in the world today, so many rude people, so many people who just do not care. Why do you think this is? Are people really just mean and hateful and that it has always been this way?

#1765
Oddly enough I have always thought that humanity would revert back to such a lifestyle in the future as well. I am not sure if it would be because of choice or because of some kind of an event. Maybe it is something that we all would really like to go back to so it is just wishful thinking, or maybe great minds just think alike. Either way I wish I could live in such a time. As great as technology and sitting at a desk all day happen to be, I would like to be working at something that feels like I am actually doing something, like actually getting my own food. See someone messed up somewhere in time. Life was perfect hunting all day, walking in nature looking for food, being able to show your kids how to survive and make a living for themselves, cooking your own food, actually sitting down with your family for meals, breathing fresh air. Ahh the good old days LOL. Only problem was lack of toilet paper but I guess nothing is totally perfect. ;)

By the way, is the name of the book Traveling To The Future? I do not think you actually said and this is the only conclusion I could come to on this.

#1766
Just let me start off by saying that I know nothing about Rieki but I do have experience with sexual energy. There is a topic on this board somewhere, I think it is called The Meaning of Sex or something like that that talks a little about this. This sounds like the first time that you have tried to pull your sexual energy up, Ides315. Is this true? If so I would suggest looking into some books or websites on Tao or Tantric sex. This can be a VERY rewarding practice. Basicly you pull your sexually energy up to your head or crown chakra and then pull it back down to your naval or push it back out. I do not have time to go into details right now. I am pretty sure that these burns that you got are nothing bad. You probably just need to work on your energy system or move the sexually energy around more or ground it out. As someone has posted you should be fine as long as they go away.

You say that you never achieved orgasm but were satisfied. As long as all parties were satisfied then all is good right? :) I do not know what all you have practiced but you can have orgasms without ejaculating, especially with these energy practices. These energies can feel so good that it is like having a full body orgasm, which are much better than the ejaculating kind trust me.

Tom, that is how I feel. I never did see people as being different races, just looking different and everyone looks different from each other. Sadly not everyone sees people as people. I still cannot fully grasp this idea of different human races, and personally I really do not want to be able to.

The bad thing about your experience is that a teacher was saying this. So this teacher was spreading these separatist ideas to many children that were probably rather impressionable. This just puts another wedge into the situation and insures that there will be these feels in another generation. Think about how many children this teach has probably told this. It is rather sad.

#1768
You are not the only one really. It all depends on who is talking. Different people have different ideas about the two. Some people see the two as the same thing and use them interchangably. Others see them as two different things. To find out the actual meaning you need to do some studying on the person and look for clues in the article that you see them used. Really to try and define them is just beating yourself over the head. They really mean about the same thing for the most part, as they all are talking about being out of the physical body in the basic terms. For the most part, atleast on this message board it seems that people use the definitions Grenade01 has given.

#1769
I have read lots of warnings about Kundalini, yet I have not seen really any examples of the dangers. Yes I have heard lots of statements about the possibility of going insane, etc. Some would say that Jesus and other spiritual leaders were insane. Are these just fears that people spread due to lack of actual knowledge or for control? There are those that say astral projection is evil, you will get lost and not be able to get back, etc. Now I am not saying that Kundalini energy may not be dangerous. My point is that I would just like to find the truth and get past any possible myths. Where is Robert's article on Kundalini. I do not think I have seen it, though I could have just missed it.

My suggestion to you is that if you are interested in it then learn as much as you can about it and then practice and learn for yourself. As long as you go slow I do not see what harm can come. If something starts to feel wrong then stop and learn what is wrong. Good Luck!

David gives some good advice. I just wanted to add something. Try to be a good friend to him. If he looks around and sees he has good friends who are not white then it may make him question such beliefs. If he looks around and sees that his non-white friends have "walked out on him" then it may push him to this belief of hate. Also look for the right time to talk to him about this. You may never have to but if he does pursue this then you two will eventually butt heads, hopefully it will not be violent as you have seen. If for some reason the subject should come up point out to him that you are not white and he seems to like you, so why the hatred for others.

I hate hate groups. Is that an oxymoron? Hehehe

#1771
I agree. How can you get the Noble Peace Prize by waging war. That makes no sense. Maybe their actions helped keep some peace by disrupting the terrorist's organization, but this hardly seems like they are working towards peace. Someone that actually tries to keep peace by working for peace through peace deserves this, not people that are making war even if it is in retaliation, especially in retaliation.

#1772
Just to let you know, the link does not work, atleast for me.

Sound interesting. Was he taken physically or did they take him through OBE? In a book I am reading Secret of the Soul the author talks a little about abductions and OBE. He thinks that if aliens should contact us that it would be easier to do out of body than in the physical realm.

#1773
There are such stories to express all kinds of beliefs. This is probably just that, a story. I personally do not believe in a devil, and beliefs seem to be a big influence in the astral. If you believe in a devil you will probably meet a devil.

I seriously doubt that your friend saw any kind of devil. If he thought that the man was evil then the voice could have been molded to his beliefs. He should question the situation with an open mind and search for the truth. The truth I have found is that the devil is a symbol of the "evil" that man sees as negative and has evolved into an enity because people see this symbol as such.

#1774
I have not studied anything about Karma. I just know what little I have picked up, though I am starting to believe in Karma. From my understanding of it, it is much more than a written set of rules. This meaning that there is a time to kill, a time to fight, etc. It is not the act of killing when it is needed that is harmful. It is enjoying killing, killing for pleasure that is harmful. I think that the intent is more important than the act, for the most part anyway. Let me ask this question, is it ok to kill if a force is trying to destroy your way of life? If a group rose up to overthrow your nation, would you find it ok to kill then? It is good that one would not want to kill anyone, but there seems to be times when it is necessary. This can be a very difficult issue to deal with.

#1775
It has always been my philosophy to experiment and find your own way. What is good for one may not be the best for you, as we are all unique. I think it is good to mix systems as long as you take it slow and keep an open mind to what is going on. Whenever I read about something new I will try it out and then see how well it fits with what I already do. Usually by adding a little something it makes the whole better.
