Welcome to Metaphysics! / Will my cat be OK?
May 09, 2002, 05:10:53
I grew up in the Christain religion, though no longer claim any religion. That is one of the biggest problems I had with it. I was taught that only humans had souls that would continue after death. I find that idea very arogant and close-minded. I find it unacceptable that anything that has a life energy would not continue after physical death. I know your cat is somewhere. Maybe some time you will get to see him again.
It is not foolish to be emotional over the death of someone so close to you, enough if it was your cat. I find it a terrible thought that someone that lost a close pet would not be atleast a little sad. Just because we get old does not mean we are suppose to become emotionless.

Well I have not encountered any harmful or scary entities in my travels yet. From what I have gathered there are some kind of entities, either real or thought form, that will try to scare you and most likely will succeed at times. As far as there being any harmful entities I have not heard any actual cases of anyone encountering anything harmful. The only harm is what you allow you to do to yourself. It can be harmful if you allow yourself to become overcome with fear and do not realize that it is just your fear that is the cause. You cannot really be hurt while projecting.

I believe there is more than the astral realm, but I have not had enough projections to actually say this for sure or what they are. I very much believe there is a Buddhic realm and I believe I have accessed this plane, though not actually projected there. There seems to be a basic belief of planes, though names and numbers may differ. They are Physical, Astral, Mental, Buddhic, and I never can remember the names of the next few but they deal with highly evolved spirits. The physical is ovibous, this is where we are now. The astral is the next plane which seems to deal alot with emotions. Mental being of mental energies. Buddhic is a place of peace, love, spiritual energy and rejuvination.

Getting back into your physical body usually just involves you thinking and "feeling" for it. If for some reason you cannot get back this way do not worry, just go with the experience and you will get back soon enough. Your astral body knows the way back and will go back when it needs to.

I read in a book that says that smoking can have negative effects on AP and meditation. But I am not sure where they got the info. From reading posts on several message boards people that smoke do not seem to have any problems. If smoking is causing physcial problems like trouble breathing then it may be harder to relax leading to more difficulty in projecting.

I have never heard of any crystals helping with projecting. I have not studied into crystals so I am not one to really say, but I have projected and never used any crystals. I believe that you do not need anything to project, though some things may help some people but still are not necessary.

How do you charge up your brow chakra? Use the same method to do the rest of them. I am not trying to critize you or anything, don't take the statement like that. But try doing whatever it is you do for your brow. I find just thinking about them starts charging them. I think the brow is about the easiest to charge. I cannot always charge some as easily as others. Practice helps. The more you do it the easier it becomes. Just keep thinking about whatever one you are wanting to charge and you will start to feel. If you want to read a very basic book about chakras try getting The Truth About Chakras. I think I found it on Ebay or Yahoo for like $2.50.  It gives you exercises that are suppose to help charge each chakra, but I have not used them so I am not sure how useful they are.

I do not always charge my chakras before I project. I was projecting before I knew what they were. I think that it does help to do some energy work before projecting. It may not be necessary everytime you try to project but working with it regularly seems to have benificial effects.

Yes people have gotten a long just fine for a long time without all this crap we have now. It is for the most part propaganda. But they are also helpful too. The problem is that the industry wants you to use more than is needed so you will buy more. I remember watching something on tv that said that toothpaste used to have just a little tiny slot for the paste to come out but now they have big holes. Also if you read on the box it says to just use a tiny pee sized amount on your toothbrush but in the comericials they put it all over the top of the brush. Which do you think people are going to do, if they even read the box, or are they going to do what they see on tv everyday. I have heard the shampoo thing alot before. Think about it, how long have humans gone without using shampoo. Hygene is important, but I think it is not needed as much as we are lead to believe today.

nightflier101, that is one of the reason I dislike religions in practice. Looking at them as a whole and in general they do give power to a limited few and these few are only human. We have seen way too much abuse of this power. I personally have not seen any preachers driving jaguars or abusing this power too much, but sadly enough we hear it almost every day. I think that religions are good to study if one does not follow it blindly. I cannot believe how we are raised, our parents tell us not to trust strangers and question things that do not show proof. Then they turn around and tell us that we have to have faith in something that has no proof as being real. No offense to anyone. This is why I feel so strongly that everyone needs to be a free thinker and find their own path. Reguardless if you choose to follow a religion or just be spiritual you should constantly be searching and seeking truth. If you find Christainity to be the truth then great for you, just do not stop your search and start following something blindly.

The Christains that have posted in here seem to be mature and intelligent seekers. But from what I have seen this does not seem to be the norm. Last time I went to a Christain church the preacher talked more about the devil and hell than Jesus or love. From my studies, Christainity's true message is about love and caring. So why does it seem that they think more about the devil? Maybe if Christains thought more on the true message of their religion they would not have such a bad name for themself.

#1808
I would not say that I am Christain, though I use to be. I decided to loose any entanglement with just one religion as I believe they all hold truths. I find that the dogma of Christainity is too restrictive and close minded, atleast what is commonly accepted and practiced in my area. I do believe that it has a lot of wisdom and good lessons to be taught if one seeks the truth contained in it. But I also believe there is much more that can only be found outside of any dogma. I respect everyone and their beliefs.

I use to have a similar ritual, but I no longer have the time. I wish I did have the time but my life has become so hectic. I really need it to as I feel so much better when I can relax, meditate, and enjoy a peaceful night. Hopefully someday I will get a chance to do this again.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / CD Copy Protection

cainam_nazier, you are right. Within a month they will find a way around this new technology they have. I wonder why they just don't give up and live with it. Everytime they come up with something to stop copying or whatever someone comes up with a way around it, and in a very short amount of time. The industry just pisses the customers off and makes them go to the other people for ways around the stupid restrictive technology.

distant bell, I do not think that the dvd player would be hurt by playing a cdr. I have heard the rumors about it but I think it is something the industry started because I have never heard of anyone actually experiencing this.

This weekend I kind of shaved, or atleast got it down to a few mm. I have long hair and I trimmed the bottom half of my head down. The top is still long. I mostly did this because I like to keep something unique about myself and after looking at other people for the past few days I have noticed that almost all males below the age of 30 have shaved heads. I just could not stand it to look like everyone else. I am not sure if this is just what is in right now or if every one is getting these feelings to shave their head. And you know it is amazing how much hair you can have and not even know it. My head feels lighter now.

Distant bell, if you are feeling like trimming your head go for it. If you do not like it it will always grow back. Plus I find that chance can be good, can make you feel refreshed even if it is just shaving your head.

The article I read and the news report I heard  clearly said that the new CDs will not work in some car CD players and some stereos and will not (or is not suppose to) work in any computer CD ROMs. But who knows. I guess we will just have to see. I would like it if they would label which CDs are which. I mean if it does not work on my system then I sure do not want to buy another CD that is not going to work for me. I am not a big CD buyer anyway so I guess I will heard about it before it effects me.

Tom, you do have a point.  It might be what they are trying to do. The reports did have contradicting information. The article I read only said they the industry was going to start using them more in Europe whereas the news report said that they were already used there.

For you Eurpeans, can you play your CDs on your computer, or is it something that is even common there? Here in the US it is something that is pretty common. Most people like to pop a music CD in the computer while they are at work or surfing the net, nothing to do with piracy or copying CDs. So a change like this, if it is true, will probably upset a lot of people.

It makes more sense to me that there is a plane of the Akashic Record than us having all the knowledge in our brains and not being able to access it. I am not sure what Carl Jung says about the collective unconscious though so I cannot give a very good opinion on this. Where can I find this to read up on it?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Screen Names
May 02, 2002, 05:55:04
Interesting question. Should get some good answers.

When I first got on the internet several years ago  I came up with my screen name on yahoo, fallnangel77. It was a poetic fallen angel, not a religious meaning like I am or ever was a satanist or devil worshiper. I felt it described me pretty well. My interests being the exploration of deeper truths beyond the physical. At the time I was pretty much Christain but starting to question my beliefs. Also during that time I had moved out on my own completely so the world seemed rather large and confusing. I was starting on a journey to find out who I am. So it was a rather confusing time for me. I felt that fallen angel described my state pretty well, going from the safety of my parents' home to the chaos of being on my own. Of coarse fallen angel was taken when I tried to use it so I played around with combinations until one worked, fallnangel77. 77 being the year I was born, 1977. I did create other screen names for other sites but soon discovered that it could get rather confusing having many different names so I standardized my screen name so that everytime I make one I just use this one. I stuck with this one because it is the name that is on my main email account. I have thought about changing my screen name but it seems too much of a hassle, plus the name seems to always fit me even if the meaning behind it is always changing.

I totally agree with that has been said in this post. Kind of weird because this issue has been on my mind as of late. I do not see a need to repost what as been said, just let me say that everyone has brought up good points and I share your thoughts.
I grew up in Christainity in a small town with no diversity. For many years it just seemed that Christainity was the truth. It was what I was told when I went to church and when my parents would talk about it. It was all around me so it just seemed right. When I was young I studied it and read the bible. I think that my true reason was to learn more, to discover truths. But then I grew up. I matured and I wanted to continue growing. My thoughts turned to the rest of the world, a diverse world where the majority are not Christains. Christainity states that if you are not Christain then you are damned to an eternity in some terrible fire. Questions came to me that just did not seem to be answered right in my religion. Why would a god create just to have a few saved in the end. The more I thought, the more I searched, the more I questioned. I came to the conclusion that all religions must hold a truth. That they are all based on the same thing, all turn to the same god just different faces of him/she/it. Then as of late other thoughts have come to me. Is there truly a god? An intelligent being who is all powerful. Though I have not made my mind up entirely on this subject I feel I am at the conclusion cainam_nazier has presented. How could there be, atleast one such as religion has presented?
There is so much discord in the world. So much fighting. Look at what most of it is about, religion. To me it seems like such a waste, such a terrible thing. People go about blindly because they never thought for themselves killing each other. Yet their religion says not to kill but they do it anyway. Do they do it because if they are not of their religion they are of no matter?
It seems that religion is just about power.

(Sorry if this sounds like rumbling. I am trying to condense so many thoughts into a post that does not keep gong on and on.)

I have not experienced anything like you have gone through but I can say this, point of view is everything. If you look at these gifts as something positive you will be able to handle them a lot better. Certain things use to get me down but I got tired of these things bringing me down so I decided to change my view on them. Now they actually bring me joy all because I see them in a positive, uplifting way.

I know what you are talking about but I have not used it to project. Though when it does happen those jittery energies do make me feel somewhat disconnected from my physical body. I am not sure if you could use this as a controled way to project but if it does happen again try and see if it works for you. If it happens to me and I have time I will try and experiment.

I have never heard any loud noises while leaving my body. The only thing that I have heard is a high pitched buzzing or ringing. Some people do hear noises though. There are some CDs that are suppose to help you project by playing certain tones and music. I have never tried this though so I cannot recommend anything on this subject.

I will give a few points and hopefully these will help some of you. Just know that I have not read Robert's book so I am not sure what all is in it but the following are based on personal experience.

1) Be passive. Try to just observe and not think about anything.
2) Relaxing and trance state are very important and can vary to reach.
3) Chakra and energy work do not seem to be vital, as I projected before I knew about such things, but it does seem to help if you work on it. And I do suggest working with your energy.
4) Do not be afraid to experiment and see what works for you.
5) A technique that I find helpful is to just relax and stare into the darkness behind your closed eyes, the room needs to be dim or have a blindfold on as seeing the dark is needed. After awhile of staring into the dark it will take on a 3D look and feel. Just try to think about yourself in this environment and push out.
6) Another technique that I have had some success with though can be difficult is to relax and allow yourself to drift almost to sleep. Your body should fall asleep but your mind should stay awake. When you feel your mind starting to go to sleep jerk it awake. Usually after about 2 or 3 times of jerking awake I will jerk myself out of my body. The problem comes from not being able to keep yourself from falling asleep.
7) Do not get frustrated and keep a positive attitude, no matter how long it may take you to have your first projection.

I am not crazy about women who wear make up. Not that I am saying they shouldn't, to each their own. I just enjoy a woman's natural beauty, especially if we are to be in an intimate relationship. If I am going to be kissing my woman I want to kiss her, not makeup. I have seen a lot of women who don't know how to use makeup properly and they just seem to cake it on so that you cannot see their real face at all. I do not know how it is in Sweden, but it has a lot to do with our culture. Here in the US, everything seems to have to do with how we look, and we all seem to have to look like those people on tv and in magazines. Those people seem to be getting "more prefect" all the time. Luckily not everyone is into this thing but a lot of people are. I have found that if I worry less about how I look in fitting into a certain model and just be myself I am a lot happier. If people would do this they might find themselves a lot happier as well. So if makeup is for you then great, if not great. I think I had some kind of point to make in favor of not using make up but it got lost somewhere. Oh well, I prefer the natural look if that means anything to anyone, which I am sure it does not so I will shut up now.

I do not think that anyone meant to offend any ladies. I did not. I have respect for everyone, male and female. But the truth of the matter is that everyone looks at people and makes some kind of opinion on their physical appear if nothing other than if they find their appearance appealing or not. Now you cannot tell me that women do not look at men as just objects at times. I grew up with 3 sisters and have had lots of female friends in my life. Women can be just as bad, if not worse, than men when it comes to making opinions on appearance. But if some took offense from my post then I apologize for any crudeness one my find in the word chic.

Now my question was not just intended for a male response. I would like to hear the opinions of the woman. What is your thoughts on woman with shaved heads?

I have never had my head shaved bald before, but I have had a bur (spelling??), you know just about down to stubble. Well everyone wanted to touch my head then. I sure did not mind all the girls touching it. Now I have long hair and it has its advantages as well, one already stated. Something weird I have noticed but I cannot headbang, not like I do it much anyway, with short hair. I get a headache if I do. But with long hair I experience no ill effects. Go figure. Seems girls are rather fond of long hair in my area. Unfortunately no one seems to want to touch it like they do with bald heads.

Since this has pretty much gotten off the original question I am going to ask something. What do you think of bald chics? On certain girls I think it is very sexy.

Speaking of movies, I just watched Resident Evil this weekend. I must say I was actually impressed with it. Most video game to movies are silly, childish, or just plain stupid. This movie though was very good. I felt it stayed true to the video game story line, actually adding to it nicely. It also is great to watch even if you have never seen the games.

Though I have never seen a spirit, that I know of anyway, I do not think they look like they do in Sixth Sense either. I guess it was done for effect in the movie. In reality I think that people create how they look. Most likely one will look how they precieve themself to look like in life, maybe fixing some "problems" they did not like if they so wish. If you are energy after physical death then you really do not need to look like the physical body other than for personal comfort maybe. Just my thoughts on it anyway.

#1823
I am likewise one that prefers the quite and comfort of home or a friends house on Friday and Saturday. I like to relax on the weekends and read a book or be outside with nature. I am not one for clubbing. Really I do not like large crowds. Too many people makes me feel irritable.

As for alcohol I do drink it some times. I might have a little on the weekends but I never get drunk. I do not see any fun or enjoyment in getting drunk. I drink just to relax.

Here in Tennessee, USA we have been having unseasonably warm weather. It makes me want to just shave my head to be cooler (temperature wise not hip) and to not have to deal with hair. I think it would make me feel free just because I would not have to worry about washing my hair, just run a wash cloth over it, and not have to comb it or worry how it looks in the mornings. Hey, it might save me a few minutes that I could use to sleep in. This might be a good idea. Hehe

Cainam_nazier,

Have you ever communicated with any of the dead people that you have seen? Or have you tried?

"To quote Bruce Willis, can't remember movie, "Look lady, I only speak to languages. English and Bad English.""
Is that movie Fifth Element? I am not sure but it seems like he says that in the movie.
