It sounds to me like you are making progress and that you are close. The hand feeling like its moving sounds a lot like whatI felt when I tried to project in a schooldesk. It would feel like I'm slipping out of the desk and when I moved , I would instantly be back where I was originally. And if I let my self slip out the desk and hit the floor, I would actually be in astral at that point and fee to roam around. Maybe you need some way to put preassure on your astral body so that it can loosen up more of your limbs to get totally into the astral.
It also sounds like when I fell asleep with my foot elevated and gripped on to a wall corner using my shoe. It would feel like my foot was falling to the floor but when I moved it , it would go back to normal instantly. After I sat there long enough and let it fall all the way to the floor , I would eventually feel the vibrating and buzzing start in my neck and get stronger and stronger until I could just get up and walk around .
When you reach that "hand moving" state. Try to create some preassure on it but either thinking about your feet being a few inches from where they are or maybe thinking of your legs being crossed and try to feel that way. Even try thinking of a breeze blowing and your hands and limbs are starting to flap in the wind. That nearly worked for me one time when I found my self in that state.. Ifeel liek that too sometimes and have a lot of trouble getting out. I know what your feeling. Sitting up and falling asleep might help. I know from experience that its hard for me to project even though I Feel my hand separated.
