LMAO
how surprising
take a look at this thread (it gets good around page 9) for the truth about mysticweb's bulls**t.

And welcome. I've only been here a few weeks myself, but I can see it's a great board. My favorite metaphysical forum by far.

Damn you no_leaf, now you've got me having dreams that I'm seeing two suns setting (well, the sun, and nibiru next to it)

I remember hearing about stuff like this 10 years ago. They use to call it nemesis back then.

I dunno but TLC or something had a special on that when I was like 9. They showed toasters flying at people and this guy getting choked by his tie in a printer.
Scared the excrement outta me :/

If the poles shift, AFAIK our electricity will be knocked out completely for a long time. Since most of the world is digital now, that would be a catastrophe. Maybe that's what they meant.

Well, what you said about time could also be said about space. A line in space creates an infinite number of points. Even if you divide it up to the atomic level, there will always be more space in between. I don't like referring to time as the 4th dimension, because our definitions of 1, 2, and 3 exist in the spatial domain and time does not. However, time does indeed behave like a spatial dimension. If you compare width, height, depth, and length (in time), they all have the same essential properties. They all create a line if a point is extended in their direction. They are all independent dimensions at right angles to each other. Each acts as a coordinate to define the location of a point.
So.. yeah. I don't know where I was going with this. X|

IMO the sooner you learn about astral projection, metaphysics, and the truth about the universe in general the better. The older you get, the more stuck on known systems and beliefs you become, the more massive of a change is it to go from, say, your average joe to someone proficient in the occult. However, if you learn early on in life, you can learn and develop much easier. You have more time to tune your skills, and more chances to accomplish things. Look at the standard beliefs and philosophies of the average person. At least in America, we're programmed to either the usual phenomenalistic scientific atheism or mainstream religion (= exoteric = corrupt). Learning that there are other realities like the astral is a HUGE change, and the older you are the harder it will be to change.

So, I wouldn't discourage talking about astral projection to anyone, but especially children. They deserve every chance they can get to awaken their fundamental latent powers.

I myself am only 16, but trust me, I'm VERY glad I learned of this stuff now and not any later.

Anyway, that's all just my opinion = grain of salt. :/

:well I'm inclined to say that if you can't get out on your own you're probably not really ready to be out yet. AP is a very personal and spiritual thing and it requires the right mental discipline as well as the right energetic balances. That dosen't mean you can't do it, you just need more training and practice.

Usually christian 'bashing' isn't as baseless and blind as christian support. That's all I have to say. This makes me sound badass . That sunglasses smiley makes me look even more badass. God I'm cool.
Okay, I'm done.

Really depends on what you believe. Some believe the whole Nibiru thing and say that's what's coming around 2012. I personally find vedic thought and theosophy to make the most sense as far as belief systems/philosophies go, so as far as I'm concerned nothing huge is going to happen in 2012 or any other time. Sure we'll pass out of this round eventually, on to the next, out of the next, get our new elements, ascend to our new states, etc etc. But apparently that takes a lot longer and dosen't all happen at once. It's more natural and progressive.
But whatever. Some huge butt catastrophe like the pole shift would be pretty damn cool, I have to admit. Turn the world on it's side, both metaphorically and maybe literally [;)]

science re-discovered and re-named something vedic philosophy has taught for thousands of years? You don't say! :P

Now this I can relate to. As a kid, I remember several times having waking paralysis, though I never understood it and always struggled to get out of it (which of course made it worse).
Some time last winter, I had it again. This time I understood it. I became aware just as I was floating out of my body. And... I blew it. I got too "omfg I'm not ready omg" and brought myself back down to my body. Of course this time it was much easier to break the paralysis, since I didn't struggle, just assimlated with my body so to speak. And I was awake and cursing myself. After trying for so long it was finally handed to me, and I turned it down.
Sux :/

Scientific fact and esoteric/occult beliefs coincide. They're not opposing ideas, science is just the phenomenalistic tunnel view of existance. They're merely different facets of the same crystal.
We're all a product of either atheistic phenomentalism science or fanatical blind religious doctrine. Society is wonderful.

lol, that was a joke :P

well I have to admit, clover, you put up quite the convincing argument. At first glance this Nibiru stuff seemed like total BS, but I've become interested. It seems to me like a theory which is easy to become stupidly fanatical about (it is pretty cool after all [;)] ), but may also consist of less truth and more archetypal things as Ellen from crystalinks described. So color me a skeptic, but I'll do my homework and I'll watch the sky for red lights.
However, I couldn't help being reminded by Zebbie's post of a dream I had a year ago...
From what I can remember there was just mass hysteria... the world was ending in some way or another and people were frantically running around in the streets. I remember looking for relatives and excrement. Anyway, at some point, I wound up on my street. I looked up through the houses and trees and I could see a giant full moon in the night sky. The moon had like a splash of blood on it. As I was watching, some sort of comet-like thing smashed directly into the moon and it fell clear out of the sky.
After this I just remember looking around for some old sentimental things, and then just laying on some luminescent material next to my sister.. and apologising to her. And that was it. It's the third of 3 world-ending dreams I had last year. The first had to do with the moon crashing into earth, and the second with the earth flying out of orbit and off into space.
Yeup... :/

btw... this is messed.. the sun got pwned

I'm not so sure about that. Sure if you were just watching, but say if you were watching and getting horny :/
From a mystical perspective being sexually active binds you to the flesh and keeps you on a low, physical vibe. I wouldn't choose to project right after wacking :/ merely because I would probably wind up in some unfavorable plane. If you look at the chakra system, that sort of makes sense. The spleen chakra controls sex drive, and is the orange and second to lowest chakra. So if you're channeling energies like that while in the astral, you're likely to tune to a plane corresponding to that type of energy.
But what do I know, I havent tried watching anyone naked yet :/ I just read a lot.

quote:
Reincarnation was a basic tenant of the Catholic church until the fourth century AD when the Roman Emperor Constantine decided to tailor it to his specifications.

The Roman Emperor Constantine married his way into power. His third wife was a prostitute who had risen to the throne in the same diabolical ways Constantine had and who lived to have a devestating effect on the belief in reincarnation. The fear that her sins would follow from lifetime to lifetime infuriated her. She did not like the idea of Karma. Her life was filled with lies and treachery. She was not interested in advocated any religion that would demote her in another life. Thus she persuaded Emperor Constantine to remove reincarnation from Christainity.

Constantine, for all reports was vain and fearful for his many sins. He considered himself on one hand to be the incarnation of the Gods Apollo, Mytha, Jupiter, and Christ. On the other hand he was afraid that when he died he would anger these Gods in heaven.
He was the first Roman Emperor to support complete religious freedom of all faiths so that when he got to heaven no God would want to take venegence on him personally.

erm.. yep

But I'm not gonna talk, my views are prevalently hindu/theosophist, so I'm biased :/
