And to think we spend time worrying about cattle flatulence being a greenhouse gas.

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / Re: None time

I find that time and rain have something to do with each other. It has been raining for weeks here and it seems to have slowed time to a crawl. Then on the other hand I seem to have "no time" to do my gardening.

Coincidence?

Imagine - six plus billion humans defecating everyday. Where does it all go...

"My humps" was a pretty good video and the song is somewhat catchy, IMO. But then that's all that is, my opinion. I love sexy/cute wimmens.

Transhumanism may very well be the future trend for humans. Why not. Let it be. I don't see how it could be any worse than what we have going for the physical body anyway. I have maybe another 40 years on this planet if I'm lucky but I don't see roboticising myself any time soon. Let the disinformation spread. Lets all get barcodes tattooed on our forheads and figure out which country American President Obama is really from. Don't turn off your t.v. because that would prevent the real world leaders from spying on your most intimate moments. Led Zeppelin was just a band of lip synchers and air guitar players.

Soon none of us will even have to think.

So "they" are coming? Weeehaw!

It has always interested me that people want so badly to know we are not "alone" in this universe. Just what the heck would benefit us (persons currently living on this planet) from a visit from "aliens". New technologies? New medicines? A trip around space? New and exciting forms of sexual intercourse? No. It is simply just that idea, "we are not alone in this universe". It is confirmation. Confirmation of what many of us already know and believe. It is similar to what you experience when you first successfully project - "OMG! I really am something other than meat and bones!"

I gotta go back to the last post from snickerhammond - "I'm not really sure about the whole 2012 thing because I have come to rely on the fact that Assension is more personal, and not a global phenomena.  I  (?) that we can't rely on aliens, or spiritual leaders to help us, or push us towards it.  It is a personal journey and we all need to discover it for ourself." So true.

The human experience on our lovely planet Earth is just one of a multitude of venues for spiritual and interpersonal growth and development. No one "told" me this. I gather this from a lifetime of reading about religions, magick, theosophy, philosophy and even plain old "fiction". It is intuitive to think this way. My own personal intellectual, philosophical and spiritual endeavors have been just that - personal. It IS nice to find others who also pursue such interests, such as the fine posters on this website. But I can't help but believe that whether a person pursues these interests or not it really has nothing to do with their own evolution. The plan was put in place eons ago. We all progress along the path to enlightenment whether we know it or not. No one will ever be "left behind". The planet Earth can go up in a giant ball of flames and it would make no difference to us as spiritual beings. What benefit would it be if we all suddenly were "enlightened"? Suffering the human condition is necessarily painful. Suffering is what "pushes" us towards it. And I don't just mean suffering as in pain, grief or sadness. How about BOREDOM?
If "they" are and do "come" to Earth at least that may help with the excruciating BOREDOM mankind has developed.
Any takers?

I only meant weird in the nicest sense. Once again, if it works for you that is great. Success is in the outcome. I would hate to instruct someone to seek paralysis though. I would warn them however that it is a potential side effect which can be disheartening. I just made a post prior to this one, in fact, where I mentioned taking notice of paralysis and took advantage of it. It can be a good signpost of the state your body is in.

Enjoy the day!

cpt. picard and personalreality -
LOL. All I was saying is that if you can induce paralysis you are WEIRD. It is completely unnecessary to induce PARALYSIS. You induce a trance or dream or meditative state and the paralysis is an end result of the reaction of the biological brain to the "body asleep/mind awake" phenomenon. Jeez. It's a biological process, not a spiritual one. Sorry if I'm so difficult to understand. Form your own opinion and go with that then. I'm talking about researched phenomenon, just like the "brainwave" stuff you were knowledgeable about. If you choose to follow your own hypothesis without researching further then enjoy your knowledge and call me an idiot. I think you're cool though cuz your here and I would like more than disagreement - discussion perhaps?
#208
Now that is fun. There absolutely has to be somethings out there like that. Why wait for advanced space travel within this dimension when you might just as well travel OBE. I'm all for it. Say hi to Gene Roddenberry.

Cheers!

ROFLOL,
Personalreality,
That is f'n cool. sorry but I'm a tat fan and that is outstanding. So I take it you understand where I'm coming from. I have a tat design for a ouroborous over a Celtic cross with a rose that I am getting this year. So cool. LOL...

Yes. If you read any of my other blathering posts you will see I agree completely with what you just said. I was just trying to keep the focus on "time". A long time ago I meditated on the idea of the ourobouros. The whole God and time and us and everything made me say "Aha!".

Isn't this fun?

It amazes me to see the discussions that go on here. All this talk does is complicate a rather simple issue. Its all about semantics here for Gadz Sake. Its just like reading a 16th century metaphysical book. Tells you the same darn thing as a book written yesterday. Its just the words used that make it nearly incomprehensible to anyone unfamiliar. Makes me think of a recent post of mine where I got chastised for using the word "meditation" and then allowing myself to get huffy when I was disagreed with. Jeez.

I'm sorry but you can project from any number of states- "trance", "meditation", sleep "paralysis", "lucid" dreams or just plain old dreaming. The reality of what you experience depends on the clarity of your focus. If I wake from dreaming and detect paralysis - I can project. If I enter a trance through meditation and lose focus of my physical body - I can project. If I am lucid dreaming - I can project (but usually don't cuz I enjoy lucid dreaming too much). In all of these cases the point of projection is brought on by increasing the focus of awareness and losing of focus on the physical (sensation and such).

Arguing about "sleep paralysis" as a means of projecting is weird. Sleep paralysis, as stated earlier, is simply a side effect of the activation of the amygdala during a dream state. If you can consciously paralyze yourself then you are weird and I would want you to see a neurologist. I use the word "weird" because I don't know why anyone would want that.

Could someone tell me what the heck "brainwaves" have to do with understanding trance states. I know what brainwaves are but I don't tell myself "Ah, there I go, my theta is up and my beta is down, better get to work on my delta's".

I can see why so many cannot project. Awful lot of confusing stuff goes on here.

Yesterday, laying in bed, wrapping up sleep and found myself dreaming. Lucidity! Decided to fly a bit but got bored. Felt my body stir and opened my eyes. I was laying on my bed staring at my bedroom door. I could feel that I was still in paralysis so I closed my eyes and thought to project. I used a technique that generally works, I rolled and twisted myself out. Sight did not come immediately so I summoned my vision. It was beautiful to see the sparkling sunlight coming through the shades. I hurried to get away from my body - it was raining on and off and I had hopes to find a rainbow. A daytime projection is a rare thrill for me. While passing through my house my cockatiel chirped and startled me. Suddenly I noticed there was something obscuring my view. I couldn't get this "squared" image from my view. I thought "that's odd" and I tried to swipe it away. This situation caused me to return to my body and I noticed my eyes were open staring at the door again.
It was the door I was seeing with my physical eyes that was superimposed over my etheric vision. So odd. That has never happened before as I can remember. Seems Robert Bruce wrote of this happening. Needless to say I was very disappointed as I was unable to project again at that time.

Anyone else experience an overlay effect like that?
#213
Although, sometimes it is the "not trying" that has led to some of my most interesting experiences. Just think of how many people have never even considered the idea or would think you are the spawn of Santa (sic on purpose) for even considering such an idea as "leaving your body", etc. Just the thought that you will pursue this puts you leaps and bounds ahead of the pack - DONT STOP NOW!

Practice and experiment. Play with meditation. Pay attention to your dreams. Journal your experiences -you will forget them or skew the experiences with time.

I personally subscribe to the belief that everyone "projects" whether they recognize it or not. Learn to recognize it. I'm sorry but, aren't we all just "projections" of our higher selves anyway?

Your comments are always so spot on it cracks me up. :-D

We all ARE aliens. And for some of us, aliens to our own selves.

Daftpanzer -
Don't fear the aliens. Fear won't help. When you project state "I want to meet an alien". Draw a picture of what you find and post it. I wanna see an "alien" too! :-o

For the sake of boredom-
All we have is "now". Time is conceptual only. Consciousness moves in a stream-like fashion. It is as the quantum mechanics wave/particle duality concept. Consciousness is to the "wave" as experience is to the "particle". We display both aspects simultaneously. It is the "observation" of consciousness which allows us to "weigh" experiences. Since multiple experiences cannot exist within a single observation this gives the impression of "time" only after recognition and contemplation have taken place between observations. Vuja de!
I mostly agree with personalreality about the personality/ego idea. Personality is inherent to our own "nature", the "soul". Ego is learned and malleable, biological. Meditation practice will help you see this. By shedding the ego and witnessing the personality. It is the two conflicting which causes much difficulty in the practice of projection.

Someone please argue with me. I love the insights I gain by being wrong.

This may be too simplistic but I had a foolproof technique when I was a teenager. I would lay on my back and stare at the "popcorn" ceiling in my room. I would notice the patterns, how the thousands of little bumps cast tiny shadows from the light coming from my window. I would toe to head relax, taking my time to be comfortable. I would then close my eyes and try to see the ceiling through my eyelids. I would be able to visualize the same patterns and soon I was off. This worked almost everytime and especially for an OBE in the daylight.

LOL this is the third time I have typed this response, I keep accidentally deleting, arrgh. Well so what I was hoping to say is thank you for your interpretation of the experience I had. I felt it was more than RTZ or lucid dreaming simply because ALL I tend to do any more is lucid dream or OBE. These are more familiar than what happened there. The entities I encountered seemed kind but disinterested, like I was welcome but free to go on my own at that time. I also felt a sense of vitality that clung to me when I was back. I'll just keep trying until I don't have to try anymore.

My parents fortunately supported such efforts and when my mother remarried my step father was a staunch supporter. Just last week he was recommending I read Sylvia Browne. He's 74 years old. Now I really am not interested in her stuff but to have a guy like him say that was pretty cool, and hes a regular church goer.
There are people I do not mention these things to. Even a couple of my closest friends would look at me sceptically. I usually try to read people first before opening my mouth. Hey at least they didn't try and have you committed somewhere! I'll bet that if you gently pried you'd find your parents are more open than you might think, just not to your level of belief.

I for one thought you did quite well. You must have had practice explaining this before  :-). What you did is explain a technique though. I for one would like to hear more about "People who follow their own insight, manage to project while other who sticks to some kind of technique always looses hope." This is what I did and do but when I try to explain it I only seem to get in trouble for spouting some new age schtick. Please elaborate on the idea of following your own insight. I think I know what you mean but don't want to step on toes. This "phasing" is new to me since I have joined Astral Pulse and is really kind of an obscure approach. I have not read the entire Frank's PDF yet though.

Thank you. I will pay a little closer attention next time. Hopefully this evening  :-D.

omcasey,
I only meant "vibrational" in the initial pre-exit sense. I have NEVER felt these while lucid dreaming. I do "feel" while lucid dreaming but the vibrations I am referring to are very specific to where my mind is, in the experience or in my body.
One example, I was dreaming and brought consciousness up to awareness. I flew for quite some time over hiss and mountains, hooping and hollering. I came to ground and the ecstasy was intense. I wanted to make sure I was grounded in the experience so I stomped my feet on the ground, it felt solid. I reached up and grasped a branch of an enormous fir tree, I felt the needles pull through my hand. I cried out loud at how it all was real and flew up and on for some time after. No vibrations, nothing but me. It is so unique that we all have different interpretations of similar things. Makes you wonder.

I used to be a landscaper in Portland Oregon back in the early 1990's. I planted untold numbers of salvia divinorum. It is a beautiful groundcover. All the while I knew of its potential but you wouldn't catch me putting it in my body. Using any substance will get you nowhere. It has nothing to do with your spirit, it screws up your BRAIN! You need your brains peoples!

If you do have a diagnosis of schizophrenia then always and I mean ALWAYS take care of the condition. Stay with your meds, talk with your doctor and seek counseling when needed. You should be able to distinguish your spiritual experiences from drab reality. You should try to keep close to others who understand your beliefs (hard to do sometimes). Your doctor will not understand, your therapist will not understand and your parents will be to concerned of your well being to understand. If you relapse into illness it will be very easy for those around you to distinguish this from you spiritual journey. You are not required by any means to share your religious or spiritual self with anyone you do not want to share it with. Sounds like your parents care about you. Show them you care about yourself as well, that will help in the long run.

My lucid dreams are a more personal, subjective experience. It seems I am most often alone although I feel there are others near. I has been a very long time since I believed I had attained the astral realms. Too long now to objectify the experiences. For me life had moved on as I approached my mid twenties. Marriage, kids and the pursuit of the "American" dream . Things have moved on now. I feel I am getting older, maybe wiser. Even while I wasn't pursuing the astral experience I read ferociously of esoteric things, ect. Now it is time to get back to what felt best - direct experience. I too am seeking higher guidance. My "higher" self has never let me down but there must be more. What am I saying, there IS more!
I am glad we all are here to share our experiences. For now we are each others guides. Thank you for being here.

I am just a "believer". Unless proven otherwise. I like it all!
