My overall Goal is 5 but when I get out I often pursue 4. When initial attempts end quickly for whatever reason, I will often just start flying around - which is a lot of fun.

Sometimes exploring the unknown will involve magick but this is spontaneous and not part of the original intent.

I think that those who pursue the lower number options as a primary goal often fail but those who pursue 5 will often find things like 2,3 & 4 just falls in their lap.

There isn't much there to get, Stookie.

The author of that site linked above quoted St. Augustine out of context and presented what was meant as humor as though a serious reply. The next lines of St Augustine's essay gave the more serious reply as, "More willingly would I have answered, "I do not know what I do not know," than cause one who asked a deep question to be ridiculed -- and by such tactics gain praise for a worthless answer."

He also did not get a competent friend to proofread his article and spelled "right" as "rite" and did not learn the difference between "to" and "too" which are two different words.

How solar flares and mushrooms are connected is another mystery.

Hi DarkChakra, thanks for the update. I do not know how big of a dose the 20x is but one video I saw showed the smoker going totally stoopid within minutes after smoking the stuff.

Did you sit down with the binaural beats going too?

If you are afraid of the AP separation maybe a more simple Lucid Dream approach might work better for you?

Quoteshowing that even though the pathways are used for storage and retrieval they themselves are not 'where' they are

The really amazing datum in all this is they can surgically remove half the brain of a 60 year old and he still has detailed recall of that baseball game he went to with his dad when he was seven years old. And everything else too. Completely normal memory and recall.

*That* one has the neurologists scratching their heads.  :-P

Obviously memory can no longer be reasonably postulated as residing 'within' the confines of the cranial grey matter.

Is anyone else curious what happened to the original poster? Why hasn't he posted since? Did he jump out his window? And did he make a youtube video of it?

I was kinda wondering the same thing. I mean if it is personal and he does not want to discuss it, that's okay. But this subject is a curious item for me.

Good stage magicians and hypnotists do these sorts of things. Bending spoons or sword... stage tricks.

Of course there are.

Usually you must join a coven or some Rosicrucian type group and take ominous oaths and play their game and still it is a couple years before they get to the Astral Travel stuff, which they treat like some sort of rare religious experience.

One author who revealed much of the hidden occult methods is Ophiel.

The Art & Practice of Astral Projection.

I am able to get semi-regular conscious OBEs using normal techniques. So I don't really care about drugs much. I do like to try the herbs that I hear about if they show up at the local grocery store. I am in my mid 50's so melatonin if fun to try now and then.

Whenever I read about Ayahuasca and other drug trips they look like a definite step down in the quality of experience compared to full conscious OBE.

QuotePiercing and cuting without bleeding, levitation of objects, materializing psi balls, he has done this all to a public  of 75 people.

This is typical stage magician level trick performances.

Materializing food in a time of famine, that people eat, means something.
Levitating and floating over hundreds of people means something.

In 4 years what have you learned?

What do his most advanced students have to show for the effort?

Off by memory they sell the packets in times extracts or something like that for example "Salvia x10" vs "Salvia x100"

Really? I did not know that. I learned something new - thanks.

I never got into drugs so I know almost nothing about it. After reading Castaneda I wanted to try mushrooms but I never pursued it seriously.

Have any of you astral projected outside of REM sleep? I am constantly worried about mistaking a lucid dream for astral projection. How do you tell the difference?

Is the astral realm a static place that has geography? For example the 'Temple of blah blah' is next to the 'Mountains of blah blah'. You could practically say to another projector 'Hey have you visited the Temple of blah blah' and he will say 'Yeah dude the one next to the mountains of blah blah?' 'Yeah! that one!'

I was one place above the astral, I think, and I was undergoing a test and things weren't going well and the Teacher indicated I should leave and I dropped down through a sort of misty cloud region, flying and approaching planet earth RTZ, and I realized that I must've been over Egypt. I flew over Europe and then when I reached Scandinavia at nearly ground level I shot up very high and 'phased' into the astral. I went to a place that I believe is semi-permanent with features that persist and could be described by others and I would recognize the place.

I was reading Crowley and he described a most unusual astral place with detail that matched enough that I believe I was in the same place.

I would love to find more matches like that. But they are rare.

Marilynn Hughes believes the suns are portals between galaxies and dimensions:

Thanks for the scribd link.

That Marilynn Hughes is one hugely prolific writer.

I read a couple of her books. She must Astral project every single day. She has a very religious outlook and her projections reflect that, big time. They are not really all that informative imo but they are very entertaining.

Lots of people have projected to and into the sun. The usual report is that there are a bunch of advanced Spiritual Beings there.

Killa, if you think that's bad check out Wyoming House Bill 85. I have also recently seen 3 commercials on television making fun of the 2012 Mayan date. Now it seems like people are actually tempting fate.

They may be making fun of it because it is such a joke.

Nine more months and then we see Dec 21, 2012 come and go like any other day and then we wait for the fiction writers to crank out the next big Armageddon story. People eat this stuff up and can't seem to ever get enough of it.

I have a prediction for you;

Food prices are going to keep going up and our corrupt, union thug-ocracy will keep blaming it on Bush and a nation of brain dead zombies will mostly believe them.

Like i said in another post, These type of drugs have a negative context too it, personally i don't think that its bad if you do it in a controlled environment and in controlled doses

How do you get controlled doses of an herb like that?

What sort of 'controlled environment' are you thinking about?

#218
You didn't say what time of day you are making attempts.

First attempts are most successful upon awakening after a full night's sleep.

Also try getting up after 6 hours and trying.

If a full conscious OBE projection does not drop down to an LD level experience it remains a full conscious OBE.
There are different levels of dreams.
There are different levels of Lucid dreams
There are different levels of OBEs

And I personally prefer to recognize the difference between those states.

But it is all just academic for those who can barely even remember normal dreams.

Why do we have canine teeth if not for this reason? To tear flesh.

Good point. The Human body is obviously a meat-eater by design. Archeology shows that the Hunter-Gatherer diet/lifestyle produced a healthier bunch of folks. The bones of humans after the agrarian society developed show a significant drop in health, overall.

I tried the vegetarian way for a while. But I was never fanatic about it and I ate meat when I was with family and that was what was being served. I did notice a cleaner feel in general and it did seem to improve meditation results, dream recall, etc.
I think for people over 25yrs old and physical growth is done, the meat intake can be reduced significantly. I have witnessed first hand the HUGE improvement in health for people over 65 yrs old by switching to a vegan diet.

It was a good experiment and I learned something worthwhile from it.

Common sense is a good rule to live by. Eat meat in small portions and eat plenty of fruits and veggies too. Women with iron poor blood really ought to consider liver & onions once a week.

Have you considered that you might have been dreaming this experience?

Were you asking me?
Which experience, exactly? (there are a number of them). I always consider dreaming as a possibility. And I do not consider the Astral 100% awake. There are much higher levels requiring much more refined awareness.

So... back to this concentration point. Is that really the word you want to use in this case?

If you really want to see the astral you have to concentrate all the way to stay awake. It gets easier with practice. You have to be lucid the entire time.

I have not heard put quite like that before.

But I have mentioned on this forum how I was getting the impression that most people slip into an LD shortly after projecting.

Why do you use the word "concentrate"? Getting OBE in the first place required concentration but once I was out I was off to the races. I have successfully moved into the Central Astral region from the RTZ and I have tried and failed at other times. The ability to concentrate did not feel 'key' to either my successes or failures. It seemed more like a kind of energy related thing... but I am not sure how to describe it.

It's taken me 20 years to learn to astral project really well. I mean, I can do it at will everytime. Even if there was a drug that could make you astral project you would always need to rely on the drug to get you there.

This kinda gets back to what Stookie said last week. Conscious intent is key.

I never got into drugs. I did my meditation exercises and daily awareness exercises and kept a dream journal. The spontaneous "OBE" would happen now and then. They were always amazing, some lasted a good long while, and they were usually well above the Astral plane -- never in the RTZ.

Since trying to get OBE by conscious effort and intent I can get out much more frequently but the experiences are lackluster in comparison, mostly.

If a teacher came to me and said "I can move your OBE skill up several notches with Ayahuasca and psilocybin and I could see from his other students that he might have something going there, I might consider it. But what I see is those who use those drugs are clueless. (to put it mildly)

I was watching a video on David Icke and it was just a joke. An endless stream of idiotic nonsense but... he assured us that we could trust him because it was all verified during a 5 hour Ayahuasca trip where he conversed (very lucidly, mind you) with a humanoid creature who had a sense of humor.

no thanks.
