Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Death
April 25, 2004, 22:32:00
Scavenger, I've heard that theory before.  In fact it seems I've heard it pretty much word for word in some book I've read, not written by you.  In my mind projection is a means of discovering the truth about who we really are.  But when it comes to death, the only sure way of knowing is to, well, die.  There is no teacher like experience.  And regardless of ideas or beliefs, there will be only one instance in our lives when we are sure, and that is when we leave it.

Well, you could always send an ACTUAL private message to that person instead of posting it for the world.  It's like putting your diary in a library instead of in your closet.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / matrix
April 15, 2004, 18:19:43
Shut up with this dumb butt Matrix crap.  Wow, it's a cool movie, lets somehow try and turn it's special effects into reality.  Get over it, you're not going to astral project so you can try and fight off a swarm of robots or agents.  *SIGH* So ridiculously stupid!!!

Spiritual answers.  The truths that philosophy and religion can't attain for us.

You really shouldn't post novel sized text.  Try and sum up your point, you're going to lose the interest of a lot of insightful people simply because all that reading gets boring.
#206
AISSY, have you began reading yet?  If so what are your impressions so far?

It says in your other post that you are agnostic.  If you don't believe that one can know whether or not God exits, but your wife believes God does exist, why not just humor her?  It's not as though you think that baptism can damn a child to hell, cause for all you know hell may or may not exist, but your wife believs it does, so humor her.  If there is no God then baptism is meaningless, and if there is then it's meaningful, and since only one person in the marriage believes in anything why not just bring her some comfort by letting your children get baptised?

I don't believe in reincarnation.  Any belief that suggests there is more after this life is good, but I'm amazed at how many people believe in the afterlife yet think we just keep coming back to this life over and over.  In the after life your body, though not physical, will be fully restored.  It's not that you did something bad in another life, but simply that your disability was given to you in this one in order for you to learn a specific lesson, which I believe you chose to do yourself before you came here.

Richard Kang, I too have spoken a little bit with Robert about Kundalini.  I must add though that this was BY FAR the longest post I have ever seen on the forum.  I came to this topic earlier, but just wasn't in the mood to read it at the time, so here I am now.  You may not get a lot of responces simply because of the novel sized text.  One thing you should be aware of is that it's almost impossible to get Mr. Bruce himself to see one of your posts and respond to it, e-mail is the way to go, as I'm sure you've discovered.  On a personal opinion, Kundalini is a strange thing and the answers are hard to find.  Robert (I speak as if we're buds but it's easiest to just call him Robert) told me that if you are serious about Kundalini you should first master OBE, because you will learn control over the energy body when you do.  Just a side note, when he reached his highest state of kundalini it was after a 3 day fast and 6 hours of meditation, so prepare for some strenuous devotion.  I have heard many MANY different posts on kundalini, but Robert is the only one that has actually given me sound advice on it's practice.  From personal experience, don't take too many posts on this forum seriously.  It's rare to find anyone that actually agrees, so search for yourself!  Good luck pal!

Likewise... my allergies have destroyed me today (4-4-04).  Nice moon is out as well, but nothing spactacular.  Mumbo jumbo to me.  "Everything means something" concept.  It's the fourth of April.  Tomorrow is the fifth.  Then the sixth.  Nothing special but another date.

Been where you are.  Trust me, smoking can get pretty mundane and not too much fun any more.  And once you're clean your brain is so much clearer, you wonder how you ever got by without it.  I too swim regularly, but I also sit in the sauna afterwards.  Sweating a lot can really help clean out your system.

I agree with trying it after you wake up.  Wake up a about an hour before you usually do.  You're body will be completely ready for an OBE and your mind will not be as tired as at night when you're ready to go to sleep.  Also try sitting up.  When you lie down at night your body doesn't associate it with an OBE, but with "it's time to sleep".  It's hard to condition your body to not fall asleep in a position that it's associated with sleep it's whole life.  Breath awareness is a useful technique as well.

Was once a regular pot smoker, now just from time to time.  I've APed, but never stoned.  I've been stoned the same day I've APed, but they never happened together.  I've tried to AP while stoned and it's just harder to focus.  I don't think it can't happen, but concentration isn't exactly up to par when you're baked out of your mind, no pun intended.  Because AP takes much focus it's just easier and faster to do it sober as the mind tends to go its own way when it's intoxicated.

Yes of course, genocide isn't really evil, just some poor dictator suffering from hard psychological times.  I'm sure Hitler didn't think that what he was doing was evil, but to hell with philosophy and it's 'get you nowhere rantings'.  There is good and there is evil and you can't "reason" your way out of it.  Killing millions of innocent people or killing one innocent person is evil.  "Oh, well what makes a person innocent"?  That's the way of the heaping pile known as philosophy.  Go kill a baby, it's not evil, you're just hurting psychologically!

Guess it all depends on whether or not you believe the Koran.  Calling a book religious teaching doesn't make it true.  It's more of a faith thing then a proof thing.  Showing text from the Koran proves nothing about Lucifer, just gives a different idea that people can believe in or not.

Someone who genuinly wants to see me happy and does what she can to make it possible.  Someone that grows with me so that if my veiws and opinions may change she respects those as much as the ones I have now.  Likewise that's what a girl should expect from me.

I thought you were a little messed up at the beginning, but by the end I was very suprised... it makes sense to me.  That's a perspective I have never seen before.  It's true in it's simplicity and delivered very nicely.  Good writing!

Sounds more like karma than kundalini to me.  Someone does something bad to you and something bad happens to them in return.  Kundalini can be used improperly for bad, but you have to use it that way willingly.

I'm like James.  I've gotten very far in this book, but towards the end I forget how it begins.  As I read it I found it to be almost like a bible for Tolkien's world.  Not in the same sense as ours, but it speaks of how the middle earth was created, how the first beings got there, how evil began, etc.  Interesting idea, but that book (and it's author) are kind of... "out there".

The body is controlled by the mind, and it's our mind that is evolving.  The only thing I know about special powers is that I don't have any.  But there are billions of people on this planet and now individuals are even leaving their bodies behind as they journey through the cosmos, which sounds much more far fetched than someone making fire from nothing.  I can't say anything about this with certainty, but knowing the truth begins with being open minded.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream became reality...
March 28, 2004, 23:41:01
Simple dejavu.  Happens to me ALL the time.  However for me I don't know that it's something I've dreamt about untill it happens.  I can have a dream about anything and though it may be wierd, it's just a dream, no big deal.  I don't try to recognize if it happens in reality.  But when it happens in reality I recall the dream that I thought nothing of in which it happened.

Why not TODAY?  What has to happen for humans to have that power that hasn't happened?  What leads you to believe that we will one day be able to do it, but not today?  Of course I know how easily that would be to make footage of a girl making fire from her hands.  Can't believe everything you see.  These days some no name can do if from his basement.  That's why they had the interview with her friend.  To cooberate events.  Note also that the "fire girl" disappeared soon after the "home movie".  Not info that gets us anywhere in solving the mystery, but necissary to broaden the perspective to more than special effects.

I fully agree.  We are given free will, and the bad things that happen are not caused by entities making someone do it, but that person making the choice for themselves to do it.  We are the only ones who can affect our lives and we must take full responsibility for the decisions that we make, and learn from them.  I agree that many times people jump to conclusions about spiritual reality.  There may be many realities, but for the moment this physical world is the one we live in.  Spirituality is real, afterlife is real, etc.  But the only way you will really know that is if you apply reason and common sense to strange events.  There are many instances in which it's logical to believe in spirituality.  Likewise it's risky to put all your hopes on the spiritual and not make concious efforts about your own actions in this physical world.  Life is what you make it!

I too saw that short exerpt on Liz (girl that could make fire).  That short video clip of her at the birthday party was about the craziest thing I've ever seen.  Goes to show how little we really understand.

The sensations you have felt are the beginning stages of trance.  Think of it like this.  Have you ever attempted an OBE, and simply fallen asleep, and then the next morning you can remember trying, but you don't recall when you lost conciousness.  Well, that point that you lost conciousness was trance.  You may have actually conciously achieved it, and yet simply don't remember.  In trance you feel no body.  Physical sensations have gone.  If you try you can return to the physical aspect of things, but you don't want to, you're happy where you are.  The worries of the day don't bother you, and the concerns and chores of tomorrow are of no concequence, because you are content with where you are.  The mind can still drift to sleep however.  Achieving trance and keeping trance are two different things.  An exercise that I learned for myself the hard way may help you.
Lie in bed as if to go to sleep, lieing on your back though, not how you would normally sleep.  Concentrate on staying awake and keeping the mind clear.  When you find your mind drifting and daydreaming, as we all do every night before we sleep, stop what you are doing and sit up.  Take ten deep breaths while fully awake and try again.  Eventually you will be able to recognize the symptoms of drifting to sleep and be able to hold them off much longer, untill eventually your body falls asleep before you do.  Just a suggestion.  You may also want to try attaining trance in a meditative state also, rather than putting your body in a position that is easy to fall asleep.  Good luck!
