I think The Seeker makes some good points. We can say we believe this or that theory but we'll never really know for sure, at least while we're in the physical.

Thanks for the technique. I'll have to give it a try. Sometimes when the energy gets rolling and active during a good trance meditation/energy work, it seems like doing something like that should really work.

Thank you for the nice post. A book I've read a few months ago by William Bulhman, it's his second, called: The Secrets of the Soul has some great insights as well.

The energy from my brow center gets very active in trance meditation also. Think it has to do with the NEW energy methods I've been doing too. However, the ring of light is something I've come across too. Colorwise, the big ring was more of a white, maybe a little goldish tinge, but pleasant actually. Then there is also the occasional white dot too.

With lipitor, the cholesterol level has plummeted though.

Like you, I meditate (every day) and try to eat right. I do light exercise. The doctor says it's a genetic problem. So, at some point maybe I'll try a 3 month period with the garlic, then get it checked.

However your dream about the light switches, and how you describe your reaction(s) in the dream is exactly as I've had them. I can't remember the last one, maybe w/in the last year or two, but I've had those light switch dreams a number of times in my life.

So I hope you get some posts from people who can fill us in on this, as I'm very interested. By the way, welcome to a great website forum.

Have stayed with the Astral Dynamics techniques and that seems to get things going pretty good. Perhaps slight modifications and experimentations along the way though.

Today, however, I received the Wave-1 cds in the mail. I'll get into them and see how integrating them (into what I've been doing) works and let you know.

Thanks for the post. Just returned home from work and found the Wave I - Discovery CD package in my mailbox from the Monroe Institute. Now I can try using and learning the hemi-sync cds w/ what I've been doing so far (Astral Dynamics method).

Almost finished reading Ultimate Journey. Just one chapter left. Great book! Next,I'll read Robert Monroe's other two books.

I agree, it's good to see other people's points of view on spiritual topics like AP/OBE.

In May, 1969 (yea, I'm old) I was then living in Florida and sent away to be a ULC minister as a joke. Over the years I never thought much about it until sometime in the late 80's a friend and his relationship asked if I could perform their marriage (here in California). So I found out I could, and did.

Since then, most recently April of last year in Maui, Hawaii, I've performed about a half dozen marriage ceremonies. All have been for friends who've asked me to.

So the point is, it's a handy certificate to have.

In the 90's I spent a lot of time at the Zen Center of Los Angeles, usually I'd drive down on a Saturday from Ventura and spend the afternoon. However, a number of people were actually residents. They paid a small sum for a lttle apartment right on the grounds of the Zen Center.

The reason I mention this is b/c the residents seemed to have the need to spend some time in a community of like-minded people. While it wasn't my cup of tea, they felt that it was beneficial to them.

So, perhaps there is something like that in your area.

I totally agree with the importance of meditation to the spiritual path. The benefits of everyday meditation are both physical (i.e. lowers stress, calms the body) and spiritual as Adrian ably defined it.

The same thing happens to me with respect to seeing through closed eyelids. I've had to check when this first started happening to make sure my physical eyes were really closed. Now I am beginning to know the difference. Haven't had the experience of figures or forms in the room yet, though.

Can't seem to watch that stuff anymore b/c there are certain images that creep up on me when I don't want them to, like when I'm trying to meditate. However, I saw the Exorcist a long time ago and still can picture that head spinning around.[}:)]

I really am not aware of another NEW book, if you hear of one please post it on this forum.

The meditation I have done for a number of years is Zen. There is a great little book called: "Taking the Path of Zen" by Robert Aitken. It's only about a hundred and forty pages or so, but it has great information of meditating, especially the first two chapters. It's quite easy actually.

It's a weird experience but I've also had the lucid dream within a dream scenario. So what jilola wrote makes sense. It must be that it was all lucid.

Well, I do appreciate a good lucid dream. I have them too, however not as frequently as most of you. I recently got a book called:   "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming"
by Stephen Laberge, Howard Rheingold.  

The book was recommended by a friend. I plan on reading it after I finish the AP/OBE books by Robert Monroe. If it's good I'll leave a post.

The book mentioned by lucid dancer sounds good. Maybe I'll follow up with that one.

Thank you for your post and for sharing your experiences. My plan, when I receive the Wave-1 cds from the Monroe Institute, is to try to integrate those experiences into the Astral Dynamics methods that I have been using so far. I guess all we can do is to keep experimenting with methods of relaxation, trance and so on. Hopefully, persistence will be the key to success.
