I'm trying to learn concious astral projection after a good decade of spontaneous projections.when I was 15 I had amazing[:O][:)]results with robert monroe's technique described in "journeys out of the body".however, over the years I have had declining spontaneous projections, and a declining ability to create a concious projection[:(]Insert.VERY FRUSTRATING[:(!].so here I am,12 years later le-learning it.

I came really close a few days ago.It started in a lucid dream where I was flying up a huge grassy hill, very close to the ground.the sense of movement triggered heavy vibrations in the torso area.the dream ended, and I was suddenly in a green, space area (like the color of the grass).there was a huge, bright white light ahead of me.I tried to expand and continue the vibration, but they were so heavy that they were nearly painful, and I couldn't get them to expand into my arms and legs.It seems like it could have been a problem with muscle tension.however, what do you make of the light? and does the color green have any significance-like a certain chakra? please give opinions on re-learning AP.I remember the kinds of experiences I used to have, and I can't just forget about it,and go back to the ho-hum mundane world.I can't get it out of my mind, and it's like a part of me is missing!

I am reading a book called "crystal enlightenment".it says some interesting things about the use of crystals to assist in energy work in various ways.has anyone had any experience in this area? I am just starting to learn about it, and it seems interesting.

is anyone familiar with his approach to mysticism? book reccomendations? just wondering...

this was REALLY interesting...
it started in a normal dream about learning to use telekinesis.at a certain point,I became lucid.then all the lights in the building I was in went out, and there was nobody around! I got so terrified that I decided to abort the dream.I awoke, and sat up instantly.the shift was so fast, that I didn't go through the transition between states.there was what looked like a black box w/hinges, on a table in front of my bed(it definatley wasn't supposed to be there!).I thought "what the hell?!".the shock was severe.I realized that it couldn't possibly really be physically there, and I became terrified.I shook my head and closed my eyes, then opened them again, and it was gone.
It looks like I stumbled upon an interesting technique for blending the dream and physical worlds.I remember reading in one of castaneda's books about how the ancient toltecs discovered a way to hold the "assemblage point" (point of perception) in the lucid dreaming spot while they were physically awake.their knowledge is now lost, but could I have re-discovered a technique for doing that?
the key it to erase the "transition phase" between dreaming and waking, either by terror (as in my case),or concious will.what do you think of this?

This is a very interesting lucid dream I just had.I have been thinking lately about how I would like to experiment w/new and experimental technology, and I guess my dreams are giving me pointers!
In the dream, I was at the site of some ruins that were made of rough cut stone w/arches and pillars.possibly in europe somewhere.the date 1864 springs to mind as being important, although that isn't ancient by any means! I'm thinking possibly of the ancient standing stones around europe (as soon as I thought of that just now,a voice in my head said "we're getting there"!)
in the dream I found a device called the "hollow star".either that or it was a metaphor for an important element of the device.there could have been several of them (2 or 3).when they were placed in a certain spot on the ruins, electricity shot through the device(s),and a dimensional portal opened! it might also have been a gateway to another part of the world, but I'm not sure.
the device(s) themselves were composed of 3 basic elements.2 stone-looking objects connected together.the top stone was less elongated than the bottom one, and both were sort of egg shaped w/the rounded point on the bottom.on the top stone had 2 yellow circular crystals or devices on the bottom that looked like kind of like yellow "eyes", near the rounded point, facing downward.draping over the stones were flat, metal rings that echoed the shapes of the stones.hanging on the sides of the stones,  connecting the top and bottom rings together, were 2 more of these rings.the metal rings had light and dark areas on them, like different types of metals combined together to create the rings.
a voice in the dream told me the specific makeup of the different components, but I forgot them when I awoke! (this will be a good exercise in dream re-entry).I do remember that the positioning of the rings,w/the echoing of the stone shapes, and the rings hanging on the sides, were very important.the specific makeup of the other components were also very important, but I'll have to go back to find out more specifics.
what do you make of this dream? it seems more like ancient technology than new technology.also, could it have metaphorical meaning? wierd stuff...

I didn't know where to put this topic, so I put it here...
I have been practicing meditation A LOT MORE lately, and wierd things are beginning to happen once again (I go through dry spells once in a while).
a few days ago I awoke early in the morning.I was awake, but veryrelaxed. All of sudden, a juice jug w/ice appeared over my head, and then the jug poured juice into my head! for awhile, whenever I shifted my head slightly I could hear the sound of the juice sloshing and bubbling inside my head!
this morning, I became lucid inside my body in darkness.I had no sensory awareness other than "awareness" itself (inner body/etheric projection?).I took an astral (etheric?) arm and gently tapped my brow centre to see what would happen.I saw and heard blueish white sparks, and felt pressure on the brow and crown crakras.I saw a lit up area shining on the edge of my vision from the top of my head.I then saw a small round window or tunnel/portal w/dream images beginning in it.I spoke out-loud-inside-my-head that I wanted to visit my brother, but instead of astral projecting to the RTZ or close to it,I ended up in an extremelyvivid lucid dream (he had a small part in it-I was a spirit.he walked right through me!).when the dream ended, I was again "pure awareness trapped in my physical body".I again tapped the brow centre and saw/felt the same type of sparks/lights/pressure.I ended up in another lucid dream after trying to project to the house I live in.I ended up in a dream version of it! what is happening here?twice I tried to project, and twice I ended up in a lucid dream (although they were still cool[8D]).I guess I could always leave the dreams to get to the astral planes...

does anyone know why this happens? it happens almost every time I meditate if I do it for long enough.it starts out as swirls of light and/or color while in trance.they eventually come together, and fill the whole field of vision.sometimes it becomes so bright that it shocks and surprizes me, then it dissapears instantly.I get too excited -"wow!,look at that!"-then it's gone.
this happens too much! I react to signs of progress, then those signs of progress dissapear because of the reaction.
what do you do to get beyond this stage? emotional control, probably.it's very difficult not to react though!

I have been experimenting with astral projection for 12 years now, and I find that as every year passes,my abilitys and experiences seem to become less and less.when I first discovered astal projection when I was 15,I would have intense and violent vibrations almost nightly, many times actually separating from the physical.as the years went by,the vibrations increased in frequency (speed) and became much less violent (which is good[:O]).although I've had many incredible, unforgettable experiences in astral projection, I've noticed that thew experiences become less and less frequent.now i'm lucky if I have a really good one once or twice a year!what the hell is going on?[:(!]have I used up some "inner reserve" of energy? what can I do to change this?
#235
is anyone familiar with this topic?.I am reading a book called "zhuan falun" by Li Hongzhi (could be wrong spelling).he claims to be the only teacher teaching qigong on from a level as high as his (not just for physical fitness-but for trancendance of conciousness). He speaks about developing beyond the level of qi to the level of gong.He states that he inserts an energetic "device" that collects gong (powerful vital energy),as slowly transforms every atom in your body to a higher energetic level.I have just started reading the book and was wondering if anyone has some knowledge of falun dafa? or has heard of the book, or author?

Here's the deal: Me and my uncle are good friends, but when I am around him too long, I end up exhausted and a little "down".I also nitice that my moods change dramatically, depending on who I am with.Is there anything I can do to shield myself,to keep from losing energy? He struggles with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder. He knows I do astral projection (not much ever since I went on medication for anxiety though![xx(]oh well..).I know we can use AP to learn about ourselves and the multi-dimentional universe we inhabit.I see people everywhere in the world who are suffering and unfulfilled, and I feel a deep compassion for them.I would like to use astral projection to help people to live happier, more fulfilling lives. However, my skills are not exactly up to par yet,and they never will be if people keep taking my energy! (although the meds don't help either)any advice?

This happened a couple of days ago.I used the "interrupted sleep" technique.I awoke after about 6 hours of sleep.I usually get about 8-9 hours, so I wasn't so tired that my mind was all groggy, but I was tired enough to be able to drop off to sleep almost instantly.I stayed awake about half an hour, stretched out any tension in order to be able to get to sleep faster.I just focesed my mind as my body was getting all numb, and my body went to sleep nearly instantaneously. It just "fell away", and I started seeing a movie screen of what looked like memories from a longtime ago-either a past life if that's possible or akashic memories somehow.I experienced many strangethings.either super-stable lucid dreams,or astral projections, "normal" lucid dreams, tons of wierd stuff I don't remember, a focus 12 experience in which I instantly created symphonic music w/orchestra and chior. It was absurdly easy! (and fun).I don't remember a lot of stuff, but I clearly remember a continious, unbroken conciousness from when my body fell asleep a little after 7:00 am, to when I physically awoke at 8:45 am! One possible idea-I've been practicing the 6 tibetan exercises for the last week.the first 5 every day, and the 6th only when necessary.Could this also have had something to do with it? I've had many sleep interrupted type experiences before, but never for that long![:O][:)]

Welcome to Dreams! / woke up in the past again...
January 23, 2003, 13:15:00
This seems to be happening more often lately for some reason.Once in a while i'll have a false awakening in which I wake up, then realise with some pleasant surprise, that I've ended up in my room in an apartment I lived in about 10 years ago.Everything is exactly as it was (except for a few additional objects I never owned, but remember somehow in the lucid state, and some stuff I didn't have 'till a few years later).Everything was incredibly real and solid, and mostly true to how it was.I even rediscoved some stuff in there that I had completely forgotten!.I looked around at my old room, with a comfortable familiarity.I looked for a certain guitar I used to own,but foolishly sold.I found a sitar! (I've never owned one).I tried to play it, but didn't make any sense to me,but somehow it felt very familiar.I put it down, and resumed my search.I found a mandolin! (also never owned one of these).again it's very familiar.I finally found the guitar I was looking for.I played it,and it felt and sounded SO solid and real.then I lost lucidity, and the dream faded away.  An experience such as this makes me wonder-just how far in the past can we travel during a lucid state-possibly just by stating our intention? How many lost memories can we bring to light? the thing that really struck me about this experience was the solidity and realism of it.[:O][:)]If it is true,as I was told by a being who claimed to be socrates (?!)in one "time travel lucidity" experience, that time really is all one-that there is no "past", or "future",it just depends on your point of perception, it bring a world of possibilitys to light. What would you do if you could travel to any point in time during lucidity?

Welcome to Metaphysics! / syncronicity
January 17, 2003, 13:24:22
Here's a really interesting experience that happened last year, but I never got around to posting it.I was reading an article around here somewhere about auric sight training. It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I sat in a local mall that has nice soft chairs to relax in.I tried some techniques described in the article.I practiced only for a few minutes, then saw saw "air disturbances" around people (especially their head),sometimes colours, sort of a white haze close their bodys,or separated by a space, and sometimes a sort of "fountain" shape of energy at the top of peoples heads, in different shapes and sizes, which seems to correspond with the crown chakra and its level of development and activity. Each persons was different. I was just sitting there, watching all this stuff when an old woman with a very young child came up RIGHT BESIDE ME.The old woman said to the child "Jason! can you see the light?! can you see the light, Jason?!".Apparently the childs name was also jason.Needless to say,I was thinking "Whoa![:O]what the hell is going on here?!".After that ,she and the child walked away. I was starting to wonder if she actually was a physical being, and if I was the only one that could see her! nobody really paid her any attention, or even looked at her at all.She was moving so smoothly around everyone. but then another, slightly older child came up to her and the smaller child, and the 3 of them walked away. Sometimes the spirit works in subtle ways, but this time it practically bonked me over the head! Has anyone else ever had a strong experience of syncronicity (incredible coincidence)?  please relate yours, or opinions!

during the past 6 months maybe,  during meditation,  i've had several experiences of seeing my astral body COVERED in plant-like things. I use an astral arm to rip them off,but there are so many that I can't get them all.I've also had a disturbing experience of leaving my body, then being attacked by a huge, dark entity, which held me down like a calf at a rodeo, then proceeded to clamp itself onto me everywhere, until I was powerless and unable to move. The more I struggled the tighter its grip became.I'm not sure, but I think it might have something to do with being on anti-depressant meds.Ever since I have been on them, and then had these experiences I have not been able to project, although I can get a good trance happening very quickly (within 5 minutes usually). Is my astral body swarmed with negs?, or are they self-created thought forms? is there a difference? before I experienced the "clamp" neg, I had a projection in which I encountered a huge 2 headed dragon, which came through a dark portal, then shape-shifted into a human form. Its name was --u--v--   (symbol is on its back, and the sideways "u" and "v" might be the other way round).I escaped it by travelling to a higher astral plane through a water,  or ocean barrier, but when I came back, it was patiently sitting beside my body,  pretending to read a newspaper, as if to say "I can wait as long as you can".I then became afraid of it, so I dove into my body.I heard it laughing quietly as I awoke.Could this experience, and the clamp neg be related, either way, something strange is going on.what should I do? I can't project, and I don't feel right!!!

Welcome to Dreams! / Train victim/crying girl spirit
November 22, 2002, 12:43:20
this happened a few days ago.I suddenly became "dreamlessly lucid",and began to hear what sounded like a doctor dictating his procedures on someone who was hit by a train. The details were very graphic, and gross.I felt a combination of horror at the details, and compassion for the victim. This went on for quite some time. When it eventually ended,I had a "false awakening",and started to hear a fairly young girl crying in the corner of my room.My immidiate thought was "ahh! a ghost!".When I actually awoke,I realized that I had absolutely nothing to be afraid of.If it was a spirit, and not the work of a half awake imajination (what do you think?),it was just someone in need of help and support.Old habits are hard to break!

This is my latest attempt at astral projection using lucid dreaming.I suddenly became lucid in a dream after getting back into meditation for the past few days.I  was in a huge hallway, with big arched windows and stone walls, overlooking a landscape.I knew the importance of keeping focus so I stated loudly "awareness now!".I repeated it a few times.Things got clearer, more colorfull, and I became more aware.I had to really focus for a few seconds to remember what I wanted to do. I then said "I want to go to the real time zone".I left the dreamscape behind and descended in the "sky" of the astral realm.I descended to earth thru the skyhttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0>http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0>(that was cool!).My intention was to visit my mother in guelph, ontario.I ended up near niagara falls in the light of the morning.Compared to the dreamscape, things  were much more solid looking.I  was floating several hundred feet in the air, trying to remember which direction to go in to reach guelph.I remembered I had to go northwest,so I flew over lake ontario. My attention was starting to fade,so I tried to say loudly "awareness now!",but my voice didn't work! I lost my awareness and returned to my body.I strongly reccomend trying lucid dreaming as a gateway to astral projection. If you have enough concious power, ask questions, and state where you would like to go,it seems that you can find any information,or travel anywhere in the universe. The key is to extend the time you are aware. The technique I stated earlier worked in the dreamscape, but not in the real time zone.Does anyone have any ideas why?, or experiences they would like to share? It would be nice to explore the universe all night, while my body gets the rest it needshttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

my motivations for OBE/astral projection are:

*gaining knowledge about the true structure of conciousness and the 'multiverse'.

*moving beyond the pettiness and the dross of human society,to a higher way of existance.

*using knowledge gained in a postitive way while here in the physical

my ultimate goal is to transform my physical body into pure light, for the purpose of the ascension, and lending a helping hand to others who may be lost (figuratively or literally),wherever they may be.
#244
the urge to shift positions after awhile happens to me a lot-especially if I'm meditating.

I just figured that my lower back muscles needed stretching-so I do that, then lay on my side, and I'm out like a light.

I'll practice resisting that urge to shift onto the side.that happens ALL THE TIME.
#245
Beavis-I can really relate to what you say about losing energy-

I began astral projection/OBE about 13 years ago.when I first started,I was firing myself out of my body into space (RTZ),and astral dimensions.I would just simply lie down to relax, get this "funny feeling" and close my eyes, and would project.

over the years something strange happened-projection attempts got gradually more difficult (especially to the RTZ),and I had less and less success at my attempts.

I haven't projected concously in a couple years now[:(][:(][:(][:(]-despit having NO FEAR,and clear goals (planetary/space exploration).I have been practicing/meditating more frequently though recently, and feel as if things may change soon if I keep it up.

I have been on anti-depressants for severe social anxiety for about 2 years now-and that basically steals most of my energy right there.

while I haven't practiced/trained TK yet (I plan on it)I know what it feels like to have such a vital element of your life just gone.[:(!]

what I see in hindsight (20/20 vision-as the cliche goes) is that I never did enough so safeguard the energy I did have, and didn't do enough energy work to build more energy.I also didn't have a handle on my mental health.

it's also very important to remember the mind/body connection-an olympic athlete doesn't just run around trying to keep their body in shape-they also train their mind.metaphysics can be compared to a kind of "mental olympics",and therefore it's important to not only train the basic mental abilities, but to balance and strengthen ALL ASPECTS of your life path.

it may just be that the taking away of your abilities (and mine) are ways for the spirit (for want of better term) to get you to gather all of your resources, and learn from your mistakes and aspects of yours/my life that threaten the foundation of the search for transcendant knowledge-which is physical life experience itself. To get us to do ANYTHING to get that missing part of ourselves back-and next time, take it to a new level.

this is something I have only figured out VERY recently, and
I hope it helps[:)]

Welcome to Dreams! / Video Game Lucid Dream?
July 20, 2004, 14:35:35
I've had a lucid dream a few times, in which I was in the video game DOOM.

I had a chain-gun,and the monsters from the game were everywhere, and they looked incredibly real.

I wasn't really scared however,'cause I was HEAVILY armed,and I knew it was a dream anyways.[8D]

sometimes one of those white boxes of health would appear, sort of spinning and growing in size from nothing.I ate one,and it was like chewy candy[:D]

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Any SLIders in here?
July 20, 2004, 14:27:37
interesting[:)]

not sure how serious to take it,but whenever I walk past certain lampposts at night, they shut off.

I just figure it's a censor device in the lamppost...

...but if that were the case, wouldn't it turn ON when i walk past it[?]

-and maybe this explains why my gamecube has had freezing fits since i got it (new[:P]).

I'm not saying I believe it,but more experimenting is in order.it is a fact however, that the human body is surrounded by a powerful magnetic field.

things that make you say "hmmmmm....?"[;)]
#248
I've been projecting for about 13 years (I still feel like a beginner),and from what I have noticed,it seems that the only limits as to how far you can go are the limits you create from fear.

even the slightest half-thought about being fearful will send you straight back to your body.If you want truly unlimited travel (near physical dimensions, and astral dimensions furthur in vibration from the physical) you have to develop a certain fearlessness while out of the physical.this can be achieved by the simple realization that conciousness is immortal.

there have been times when I encountered a very annoying 'static' in the earths magnetic field that seemed to be made of everyones random thoughts.you never really get a sense of how many people have the most useless thoughts rambling around inside them until you hear millions of them at once!

and you also may get sounds on the borderline state.things like screams, crashes, people in your room, animals (cats, etc).

the main thing to keep in mind if you really want to try OBE travel is that any slight fear about the situation will automatically set up a fear barrier between you and your goal.

also:if you are taking any medications, they can make it very difficult to achieve projection.I know all about this unfortunately :(
#249
well,I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt usually,so I'll try this technique for awhile.

I printed it out,and I'll post back if anything interesting happens.

#250
I find it strange that most people experience reality fluctuations in the real time zone...

whenever I've gone there,I've never encountered that-of course,I usually take measures to ensure a degree of mental control to ensure that won't happen-mainly just by staying extremely focused on my goal (usually firing myself straight up into the sky like a bullet, and right into space!:) ).I find that when I'm in the real time body,I'm able to achieve a much greater degree of focus than I can in the physical body (so far).

I find that my projections are either very "physical universe" oriented-w/it's characteristic solidity and stability,or it's a total off-the-wall wierdo trip out of space and time,where,well...let's just say things get *interesting*,with all the super intense colors,2 headed black dragons waiting near my body, and dimensional barriers that my brain interprets as water,etc...[:D]

It is VERY possible that by reading others experiences,we create a similar experience of our own.that is part of the nature of astral realms-they are molded and created by thought-whether our own creations (less stable),or mass creations (more stable).this means that the more we all read about a certain experience, the more it's likely to happen while out of body.

or maybe I'm just nuts[:P]
