Talking of arrogance, intentional or not, there is another post, new today which has disapointed me  a bit. It talks about how the "older members" of the forum are leaving and passing the torch to the "younger ones" I am not usually one to speak out but this has got to be mentioned. The so called "older members" have only been here a year or less! most only a few months. I have been here 9 months or so (give or take) does that mean I am one of these fabled wise ones? should I write such a post which is utterely pointless and full of arrogance (whether intentional or not)? I think not.

I am not "flaming" the member in question or what ever the hell you call it, I am just highlighting an important issue!

i often get the same feeling. I also get it while I am motional or watching an emotional programme on the telly.

Sorry if that sounded like it was aimed at you. It wasnt. I just dislike the attitude espoused by some people who study the occult.

Sweet celestial sounds, I totally disagree and I think that was a really bad piece of advice. firstly if you tell everyone they may mock you and this could really affect your life. Secondly, if they raise doubts in your mind through this mocking, this could hinder your attempts at any obe or anything occult.

this sort of thing isnt everyones cup of tea, whether you think its because your more advanced them them and "special" or not is besides the point. I personally think that people who study the occult fall into various catogories. Those who are insecure and need to find something to belong to, and to be able to feel special. And another catogory is those who study the occult for serious reasons, they have perhaps had something happen to them which could relate to the occult, or they may just be looking for answers to questions. I really think that the way you see yourself and other "occultists" is quite wrong and dangerous.

Anyway, thats my contribution.

Visualisation is good, I have used it for a year and I have had to work hard at it. However, recently I finally bought Bruce's N.E.W energy ways. I must say I am absolutly astounded. When I first tried the basic exercises given they worked within about 15 seconds. Although I am maybe a bad example as I have been working with energy for a year (through visualisation) This system is one of the best I have heard of so give it a try.

You seem too impatient if you don't mind me saying, but if you want a brief description of N.E.W, here goes. If you rub the area where your thumb joins the hand, in a clockwise circlular direction, then stop and imagine the feeling still going when you've stopped. After about a minute you may feel a pulsating or tickling feeling, this is a secondary energy centre. Now that should whet your apetite, if you want more read up on it, get the book etc. And don't be so impatient!

Oh dear! only one day to go and theres so much I wanted to do. There must be loads of people in the world who have done all that they wanted to do in life, think about it, with all these dates for the end of the world over the last 30 years or so, people must have ran around asking out old friends, parachute jumping and all sorts! There must be a lot of contented people out there. Happy end of the world (as we know it) eve, whatever the outcome.

I aggree with the points made so far. It is quite funny though, when occultists, who's lives revolve around practicing things that most consider impossible, riducule others for making claims that they themselves consider impossible! Its a funny old world we live in.

I tried a technique last night which involved focusing on my 3rd eye, or brow just above my eyes. This gave me some interesting exit sensations relativly quickly, after around 20 minutes.

I have heard many accounts of the akashik records, and one thing I have heard is that its so vast and complex that its too much for the human mind to handle. However, I dont think there is anything wrong with using extra-sensory powers for material gains, but there is a possibility for corruption.

I don't realyy buy into this crap, but just to get you conspiracy nuts going, on the bbc lunchtime news two days ago there was a report about how astronomers could see a shadow move across the sun, and that this was mercury. mercury huh? a likely story!

I would have to aggree, the quality of these forums has really gone downhill lately. I sound like a grumpy old man but this is one of the only places where you can talk to people about serious occult issues, so please don't ruin it for everyone.

One problem that I have with rope is that once I've started and been climbing for a minute or two, I stop and remember some other technique for projection and start trying that! I have an overload of methods and funnily enough this is counter-productive! therefore I just picked out the key points from everyone and the common ground covered between them. With this in mind I am going to develop my own method, probably based around my successful trial of a "walk about" around my flat. I found that after i walked around for 10 minutes or so I started getting exit sensations, eg a very floaty feeling and a pushing in my chest, even before I was in trance. Obviously this is a walk about in my mind, not physically!

This is also the method that I use to project. I find it effective, but its more random because it relies on a lucid dream.

Yes, I like this topic it really makes you think and gets you twisted up like the chicken-egg question. I believe that we all have free choice because if I didnt I would probably break down! can you imagine thinking that whatever you do you were supposed to do? Ouch! that would kill me

Hello Behemoth, I am currently in the North of England, Newcastle area and its nice to hear from you. I recomend another area you didnt mention on your list, ritual or high Magick. a bit like Wicca but not quite as basic (no insult intended) the areas I focus on tend to follow the path of the famous Golden Dawn group and hermetics. This system takes bits and pieces from everywhere, such as Egypt, China and especially the book of the Jewish Bible that has been brushed aside today, the Kabbalah. Its damned hard work but its given a new dimension to my life.

I have something to add to Adrians previous post. It has also been said that the cross is a development from a much more basic idea than kabbalistic theology.

The cross, it is argued, is actually a symbol of fertility. The upward bar as the errect penis, and the upper bar represents the female. This is much easier to see when you think of older versions of the cross where there was a loop at the top as well. But perhaps the modern cross also has these sexual connotations?

From what I've heard, if its possible at all it is very hard. I believe you have to go to the place you want to teleport to, and just concentrate on it. Perhaps it may be effective if you turned it into a magickal ritual?

problem is, if you are teleporting to somewhere in your house you will not know whether you've really done it or not, for as far as you are concerned you could have been sleepwalking and then just became concious there!

Perhaps its not a prediction at all. It could be a reflection of your own anxieties, or your subconcious using symbolism to try and tell you something important? In a world where war and missiles are on the news constantly, its not surprising that people are gonna have dreams about them.

Or then again maybe it is a prophecy.
