Quote from: Landofclay on May 08, 2011, 09:25:27My first time, my phone woke me up somewhere around 5 in the morning. Then astral projection came to my mind, as I got sleepier and sleepier I began to feel strong vibrations and a sound as if I was underwater. That was really cool, I didn't try any exit methods though. Then the second time, it happened, I went to sleep at 5 in the morning and I began to get the vibrations again.

This is more or less how I project... when you're in the REM stage of sleep it's easy to fall into the vibe state or gain lucidity in a dream.

Quote from: Landofclay on May 08, 2011, 09:25:27I'm not that good at doing this, I am still learning. I've never actually projected before but I hope I will. How many times can you astral project in a day, and a question for you : can you astral project right now if you wanted to?

It depends on skill level. You won't find many people that can project at the drop of a hat but they're out there.

Quote from: Landofclay on May 08, 2011, 09:25:27At what stage do vibrations happen, please explain in simple words.

The vibes are simply a sign of the pre-projection state of sleep paralysis. You can get a wide range of sensory input during this state so don't worry so much about vibes specifically. The main idea is to maintain awareness enough to end up in a projection. Too little focus and you'll most likely fall asleep and if you get too emotional you might wake up... it's a balancing act that'll become second nature with experience.

Satan's a chick!?! Is she like Liz Hurley in Bedazzled (please?)

Quote from: GodsProxy on May 08, 2011, 09:09:42Evil is in control of this planet and everyone is destined for eternal hell. I believe we have found a solution.

That'll be a hard sell, bro.

The most accurate explanation or the most adaptive to today's societal norms? See there's a trade off between truth (however close we can get to it) and large scale understanding/verifiability.

Astral Projection is lucid dreaming with the addition of full awareness and cognitive function... it can be so "real" that I have to question if I'm in physical reality... up until I take off flying. I have a feeling you can go much further than what you've already experienced.

If Osama is now on the astral plane, do you think he will try to hijack it?.

Sorry... it was an obvious pun. I couldn't resist. Just like the time I pushed the big red button.

Interesting... I remember once asking to see my spirit guide and got a video game-like "text message" with the avatar of an old man next to it. Not sure what the message said but it made me a bit uncomfortable and I felt more or less blocked from pursuing that endeavor.

I can't tell you what your experience means, but it was a great read nonetheless.

Sounds like pseudoscience... the sun will need to transform into a red giant first and that's billions of years away.

If you read Plato's Republic, he explains that positions of leadership should be extremely unattractive and with no perks or benefits, and that therefore you will only attract people who want the position because they are afraid of someone else having it, and doing a much worse job, and causing harm as a result.

This may be true for those leaders that aren't in it for the power, status, luxury, or fame... but I think if you wish to possess any of these elements (materialist mindset) they will be the "perks or benefits" to counteract the added stress, responsibility and potential for an overall unhappy life. It's that desire to put a legacy ahead of your own well-being.

The kid either has multiple computers (wouldn't surprise me) or uses computers at his school to register.

On topic, I prefer Munroe's focus system to Kepple's... but usually stick with good ol' eastern philosophical labels.

Well the poor lad does need help... or maybe some structure to his day to day life? It's obviously past his beddy bye time. At this hour he probably figured the mods were asleep as well... perfect time to spam an innocent message board and have himself a little field day. It's the highlight of his night, guys... let him have his fun, he'll do poopy and nod off to silent bliss eventually.

Oh and if it's not obvious to anyone else, this is alfalfa/d3nd3/kids who obviously need a hobby/etc.

How does the speed of light effect time?

Light is energy, we perceive energy as sensory input... the flow of sensory input creates the illusion of time.

Quote from: Fourthdimension on May 05, 2011, 20:36:29Do you mean how fast i am travelling in relation to it or how fast the earth is moving in relation to it or something else?

It doesn't matter. The speed of light is so fast that differences amongst the speeds of material objects is negligible by comparison.

Quote from: Fourthdimension on May 05, 2011, 20:36:29What do you mean by this Xanth?

Pretty much what I said above... (I think?)

Quote from: Fourthdimension on May 05, 2011, 20:36:29If its only our perception of time that changes how come if we replicate some event in which we percieved time to be going faster such as watching a movie and say we make sure everything is the same. same people , same mood, etc how come time does nt always appear to go the same rate as we first experienced . does perception develop or change preventing this?

I've pondered this topic... I believe when we focus on the moment we slow down our "rate of sensory input" I mentioned above. When our minds are focused on an activity or engaged in something, our "rate of sensory input" speeds up. I'm still wrapping my brain around it, but two people could have different rates (one is focused on the moment and the other isn't) but conventional time changes for neither of them (probably junk theoretical science, who knows?) Again, this is probably to do with the fact that the speed of light is faster than we can imagine so the rates are negligible. It takes incredible distances mathematically speaking before we start to see distortions in time.

No offense, but did you need to make an account just to say you're leaving? You aren't going to find a group of people more accepting, trust me... however, we're all *still human* and will occasionally let the drama take over. Yeah so a few threads got out of hand, but conflicts were resolved and this forum is better for it. Your thread does nothing but perpetuate the negativity. Perhaps your feelings are a que to take a break from this place? Even the most joyous experiences can become repulsive if overkilled.

Quote from: personalreality on May 04, 2011, 13:48:10Perhaps we need some slightly more dictatorial mods that won't hesitate to nip a problem in the bud before it gets out of control.  You should campaign Astral.  lol.

Thanks? Lol, I'm not qualified to run this place nor do I want it becoming a chore. I just think if we want that friendly, respectful atmosphere the powers that be shouldn't be reluctant to pick a few bad apples out of the bunch.

Since this thread is where we air the dirty laundry... I think it's absurd that the only regular mod here has to consult other mods that only visit sporadically in order to ban blatant trolls. This isn't an issue on any other forum I've been apart of. I couldn't care less who's running this place but if there's only one persistent mod he should be given the power to at least do the job without feeling apprehensive about it. I mean this is getting beyond ridiculous.

do you continue the myth , from which you read off other people? and doesn't it hit you by chance that the reason certain things are "missing" is because of your memory not quite being there?

Those examples were based off my own experiences. My memory was fine when I saw the missing house.. I knew a house should've been there yet that didn't help manifest the house any. Proof, if anything, that one's own memories aren't the only component to this sort of experience.

If Vibrational Sleep Paralysis is just when you feel the vibrations during sleep paralysis then the answer is yes, there is a very distinct difference.

3D-Blackness happened to me one night a few months ago unintentionally and it is a very "in your face" kind of experience. There was absolutley no way that I would have been able to overlook it, that's how intense it was. I was just laying down kind of thinking to myself before I went to bed and as my mind started shuting itself up I was kind of "pushed" into the darkness that I was looking at behind my eyes. Not like a rough push, but I can't say that I stepped into the blackness because I had no sensation of having any legs. I would say it was much like going to see a movie in IMAX 3D and you had tunnel vision. You watch all of the new movie trailers in 2D and then when you put your glasses on to watch the 3D previews you can see depth, like you're looking "through" the screen even though you know that you can't actually be looking "through" it. And also to be completely honest with you, I didn't forget I had a body at all, in fact I was hyper aware of it. I could sense it, but I couldn't move it (I don't think, I didn't really try) and I couldn't distinguish separate limbs and areas of my body, it just felt like one big "thing" for lack of a better word haha. That's about as in-depth as I can get about that experience because it didn't last but what felt like maybe one or two minutes and when it happened I never even heard of it so I was just enjoying the bliss instead of exploring for possibilities. Anyways, hope this helps in someway!

Dotster

Yea, your experience with the 3DB sounds similar to mine. I haven't experienced it in years though which is why I questioned it. Thanks for your input.  :-)

Hello to all, I am new here :-)
I lost a love one, 3 years ago, Since then, I bought a camera,  I have the same orb in my house a lot,  When I say certain things to this orb, it has intelligence and does things as though I was talking to a human.  It show intelligence for certain things I say.
If this orb was my love one, which I think is,  How would they look like on the other side? If I came out my body AKA OBE, will they look like an orb?
I want to see them so much, not just in pictures on a camera.  How does the world look when outside the body?

Hey there and welcome. Assuming the orb is your loved one, I'm confident you'd perceive them as they were in the physical. The physical world out of body looks very much like the physical world as it is. You may be amazed at how accurate everything is, yet there are often noticeable differences. You may walk out into your neighborhood and see a house missing, you may look in your living room and see a piece of furniture that hasn't been there in years.

Quote from: astralbran on May 04, 2011, 06:33:15Is the astral plane different to coming out the body?  I really don't know much.  I just need some info, What is the difference between out of body experience and the astral plane?  Are they the same?  Were are these places?  Help someone

The scenario I described above is what many refer to as an OBE. You feel yourself leave your body to navigate the non-physical counterpart of this physical plane... this has a bunch of labels around here... the etheric plane, RTZ, phase one, etc. I think this is what you want. The astral plane is another step away from the physical and is more or less fantasy worlds where people go after death and different realities altogether.

If you're confused or have more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Dang, 75 post! From "The Great and Wonderful Oz" wannabes? I visit here maybe once a month, hoping
for some insight, or perhaps a little inspiration. I pick a topic with several post, thinking I'll find more varied input that way.

My oh my, what a let down this time! I know that everyone needs to vent sometimes, but really?
Don't y'all  "Big Stars"  have a better, more private place to exchange your love letters?!?

I agree... this topic was largely unnecessary when it was posted and now it's just an eyesore. Let's discuss ideas and experiences, not members and protocol.

video of his sea burial may be released:

http://abcnews.go.com/International/osama-bin-laden-sea-burial-video-released/story?id=13508657

"Photos of OBLs body at a hangar after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It's very bloody and gory

The official says the challenge is that the picture that includes the most recognizable image of OBLs face – from the hangar in Afghanistan – is so gruesome and mangled its not appropriate for say the front page of the newspaper. On the other hand, this is the one that is most identifiable as him"

http://whitehouse.blogs.cnn.com/2011/05/03/even-more-on-the-photos/?hpt=T1

Thanks for the update. It would be hard to explain away the released picture using a conspiracy theory but I suppose anything's possible with doctoring and the CIA.

No, but really I see what you're saying and you're absolutely right... no event to this scale should be blindly accepted without proof. I figured Obama would've had the proof before the announcement was made is all.
