Hey,

I don't want this to be seen as spam as I'm not actualy affiliated with the course I'm promoting. I simply desperately want to attend but they need the numbers first so I thought I do some cavassessing for them.

It's an introductory 2 day hemi-sync course by TMI outreach facilitators near Bristol. In the 2 days they get you simpy to master moving freely between Focus 10 and 12. It costs 150 pounds which I think is very reasonable if you compare it with full TMI course (about 1300 pounds for 6 days).

Part of the reason why I have posted this is because the first dates are set for May, which for me is a long time to wait and I'd like them to bring it forward to maybe feb/march time. But to do this I think they may need to see evidence of interest (which is part of the problem. It seems people in the UK dont know much about TMI at present).

So if you are interested then comment back so I can give them an idea of how many people may want to attend.

.....just looked up the number today the number that came out was 931....off by one number!!!!!!! so close.

I'd like to go back to the important bit of the comment in so much as why was it close but no cigar?

Bruce Moen writes a lot about the interpreter/perceiver and astral distortions in so much as what you perceive might not correlate with whats in your memory banks so it creates the nearest possible thing. Perhaps in this instance the numbers were not clear enough for you to see properly and so the interpreter in you presented what it thought it was looking at...an 8. Obvioulsy it was very close as 8 and 9 look very similar.

In future if you get this it might be worth covering a few bases and taking an error margin into account by buying a few extra lines.

I don't understand how you can help someone who died and they not realize it themselves..?

I remember Frank explaining this so well. I think you can liken it to dreams. When you have a particularly stupid dream (for this example lets say you are conversing with a slobbering sausage man). When you are in the dream nothing out of the ordinary seems afoot. It is only when you wake that you think hang on a mo, that was a trifle silly.

MY understanding is that these trapped souls are stuck in that dream mentality so it seems very probable that they wouldn't know much. It seems only when someone interrupts their train of thought do they take note.

While we're on silly dreams - Last night I dreamt I was baby sitting for my nephew (who is 3). In the dream he was small enough to fit very easily on my hand (fingernail size). I provided him with an equally small TV to to watch. It all seemed perfectly rational to me while in the dream.

I agree with Xanth. Personally, I think there is a lot of info available on the internet that will have a detrimental effect on your efforts. For example all this stuff about the 'dweller on the threshold'. All that serves to do is scare the excrement out of you into believing there is something waiting for you when you exit so when you do finally exit it becomes a thought form so in actuality it is your own creation and would not exist if you hadn't read some inaccurate info on the internet beforehand (if you hadn't guessed already this is what happened to me. When I first started to practicing I kept seeing a black formless entity everytime I was out. Scared the hell out of me. Once I learned what it was it disappeared).

...After this I literelly had 10-15 false awakenings in a row....

For me this was the reason for the false awakening being scary. For me it happened about 5 times in a row and I thought I was stuck in a groundhog day loop  - I thought I woke up and felt groggy so stood to put some clothes on then suddenly I was back in bed waking up. Fine I thought. Just a false awakening. I got up and went to put some clothes on then was suddenly back in bed again. I remember being a little worried at this point. I got up once more to find once again I am suddenly back in bed. Now I'm pretty worried. It happened once more which left me frantic. I think this was the reason I broke it finally.

For those few moments I was absolutely excrement scared I was stuck forever.

well...isn't that what I just said? The bit about Bob Monroe mentioning daydreaming about a beach.  :-D
#232
yeah but dont think maybe a part of me could have still been out of phase with the physical at that point?

After all Bob used to say if you day dream about somewhere like a beach then a part of you is there ever so slightly out of phase. If I was still out of phase the odds are pointing at Focus 21.

Some interesting points of view.

I should add that prior to this experience, which occurred as I was drifting off to sleep, I had been doing a hemi-sync exercise upto focus 21
#234
I have had a recurrence of this now perhaps four times. What I see is depth in the blackness a bit like I am looking at the inside of a very dark box (it definitely looks like it has shape - the inside of a cube). On the far side inner wall is a video screen playing some non-descript footage. One time it was like an old film from the turn of the century. Very grainy and jumpy. I think the content was a man handing a woman a large cake. This morning it was the credits of a film company with their logo.

Up until this morning I thought maybe I'd stumbled in the 3d blackness of Focus 21 and was just viewing a video screen but the are discrepancies with this. Firstly, the space feels cube-like rather that an infinite space and secondly, as I discovered this morning, I couldn't seem to alter it. By all accounts focus 21 is very pliable in regard to you intent. This was not. I seemed to be stuck there.

Anyone with similar account?

nice idea. I'm guessing a porno may be counter-productive.
#237
so what area of consciousness is the API in? Am I right in assuming focus 27?
#238
Mine are more like a combination of cuneiform and mayan glyphs. There is definitely a roundedness to the symbols
#239
They are always moving but I can give it a go

Hi Flor: They look to me like arabic or hebrew script.
S.

Yes, you're right. It is quite like arabic but with lots of round characters.

I know Robert Bruce talks about astral symbols a bit but he is generally referring to structures and on surfaces rather than floating in the ether.
#241
I'm not sure I understand. Can you elaborate?
#242
Of late I am noticing a trend in what I see in focus 10. This is non-alphabetic symbols either in the blackness before me or set against astral tunnels I seem to be flying through. I look closely at them but they really don't mean a thing to me. Anyone have similar experiences?

What led to my latest experience was in trying one of Franks techniques. This was the one to connect with guidance where you just imagine a guide coming to you and surrounding you with love and protection. After I had phased into my subjective landscape and messed around a little I suddenly got round to thinking I would try Franks method. As soon as I started thinking about a guide I saw a ball of light before me then the subjective landscape just dissolved to blackness (of focus 10 I think). Then what followed was pattern after pattern of non-alphabetic symbols before me. Couldn't make head nor tail of them.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Phasing

Yeah but if that's correct then there's an inconsistency here. By that logic a light focus 10, like I wrote, is where I lose all body awareness to the point I feel like Im just a point in space so how I can then feel body heaviness (which is a deeper F10) if I have no body awareness. Sounds like a step backwards

Another question while we're on the subject. Using Franks method I have reached the stage where he talks about the physical suddenly switching off (i.e. Focus 10). For me it does just simply feel like the feeling in my body from the feet up slowly dissipates until i'm a point in space. However, I have also experienced body heaviness from the feet up. Feels very different and can be quite uncomfortable. It just feels like a force is pushing me down. When it reaches my chest area it makes breathing difficult (well in so much as you can think of nothing else which has the inevitable effect of making me loose this state).

So my question is what is the difference between them and where do they fit in on the scale? I don't have to experience the body heaviness to get to focus 10 so what the hell is its purpose? All it seems to do is serve as an overwhelming distraction to bring me back to C1. Is this a step to full sleep paralysis because in my experience focus 10 really is not paralysis but rather simple disassociation from anything physical? And as sleep paralysis is more at home with the classic style OBE could I deduce that's where I would be heading when I experience this heaviness?

If you do experience something negative in your next projection you could try a Bruce Moen technique which is mentally send PUL to the negative force. This is Pure Unconditional Love. The idea is to think of a time when you were feeling love or loving. Don't just generically think of love but rather something personal (e.g. like the love you have for your child). Hold this in mind then mentally project this to the neg.

Apparently a very effective technique. Personally, I have not had the need as of yet.

Something so innocent and yet strangely perverse and voyeuristic about this story...yet I liked it.
#247
I think your inherent fear of SP infected the rest of the experience. If you start off in a negative frame of mind then it will only be a negative experience. It's a downward spiral. As long as you can tell yourself nothing can happen to you and keep your frame of mind as mildly curious (as Frank would always say) about what is going on around you then you should be fine.

I think a lot of people have fearful first experiences. For me it was because I'd read scary accounts of other people so this tinged my own experience. I think a lot of scary encounters are self-created because 'thought=direct action' to quote Frank again.

I agree it is perhaps a little unnerving to listen to but I guess you are supposed to listen to it very low like hemi-sync aren't you? Not (too) scary when it's on low.

i'm not saying that changing seasons helps or hurts projection success.

i'm just saying, i think it's interesting that natural phenomena (including consciousness) seem to coincide.

that's all.  not speculating on implications.

Well on a slightly different note, I never thought that location helped OBing at all but now Im inclined to think it does.

I spent a month at my parents house in which time I had the most progress in the last 18 months OBing. When I returned home it all suddenly stopped and I mean completely. Barely even struggle to have LD's now.

Perhaps certain places are more advantageous.  I think leylines may have a strong influence. Where I live there are none close by but after a little research I found out that at parents house one runs almost through the town.

I dont know how prevalent leylines are in the US but there are some very noticeable effects in England. Take for example the legendary Ram Inn, famous for being perhaps the most haunted place in England. It has a leyline running right through it...just a thought

I woke from a lucid dream recently in which I opened my physical eyes for a few seconds then closed them again. Interestingly, I could still see vague image of the scene still on the backs of my eyelids and was able to phase immediately back into it.

Another incident comes to mind after a tried a bedtime session. I clicked out majorly (as normally is the case when I try at this time). I resurfaced some time later and noticed a hole in the blackness of my eyelids. It looked like there was an unfamiliar room through the hole. I thought perhaps my eyes were partially open and I was in fact seeing light reflecting through the gap in the curtains of my darkened bedroom. I opened my eyes fully and realised this wasn't the case. On closing my eyes again the hole was still there. I mentally pulled the hole closer to me. As it did I got far too excited at the implications of this (kind of) overlay experience. This had the inevitable effect of ruining it and I lost the image shortly after.
