The murderers are bloody dumb as well as being pretty damned evil. Who's going to research the CURES for this stuff if they keep killing them? This is besides the obvious lack of decency and morality on the killers part

ok now I posted yesterday asking if you worked for this company in some way :-), but that post has now disappeared! LOL.
So again I ask, and hope it does not disappear.
No offense or negativity is intended towards you at all Lightworker with this question. Are you personally gaining from the promotion of these rings because your enthusiasm is very noticeable.
I have a deep skeptism of easy solutions with wild claims like this.
Robert Bruce's energy work has some great claims associated with it-however it's clear from the method that you have to work at it properly and over time, so the claims are reasonable considering the personal investment one makes. :-) If I could try these in a local shop I would I guess-i'm as nosy as anyone else. Don't want to put effort into online stuff to get them at the moment.
Will await Tyciol's results :-).

Your not making any money out of these rings right? :-) Sorry but I HAD to ask. Any skeptics of these going to acquire some and test them out?
I'm too lazy to go through all the clicking sponsering thingy whatever that is :-).
Looking forward to your posts on this  Tyciol

The future of mankind may possibly lie in the synthesis of mankind's individual and group potential with that of the best machines technology can produce. A racial symbiosis perhaps, as machines as a "life" form are only extremely young compared with mankind. Who knows where it will go next.
I agree with Legend his second point. We have to realise our own potential and not just rely on machines to explore our universe. Working in partnership with possible intelligent machines in the future centuries should not mean such mental dependence either.
Machines are young and do not as yet have physical intelligence, so fairly faulty human errors create the mess via machines :-).
I'm just rambling on here btw now..but you see where I'm going?

Quoteyou mind is being read everyday by a number of beings you wouldn't imagine possible

You are kidding right? I hope you are! darn, the thinks I think about!
#232
Perhaps it is just yourself, another part of you that you might not consciously like to relate to? I've had this sensation before now, when I've admitted to myself that it was part of me, it stopped being a problem.  Even at the biological level the two halves of the brain have been shown to be two different personalities in splitbrain patients before.
You can't cut off part of yourself.
Perhaps clearing the mind type meditation or similar will help you learn to settle your mind somewhat.

The return of the troll. The only reason I keep replying? because this week is a quiet week workwise :-).

[edit] I got rid of the rest in case I bored the **** out of the rest of the forum. :-).

If you are not a troll, then why are you here? Why bother? None of us can or will care to convince you of any one point of view-as many are represented here. You will not convince us of yours. You make as much sense as a fundementalist evangelist attempting to harangue people to follow his religion. Your passion for your own arrogance and narrow minded ideals is as fervent as any religious extremists. Instead of explaining anymore your beliefs etc, explain to us one thing. Why on earth are you here? in this forum? It goes against everything you believe.
Trolling? :-). Gah I am obviously proving I have too much spare time today!

I've been guilty of responding to one of these in the last few days. So um sorry folks for contributing to his BS :-).
After reading that article I realised I'd missed something in my internet education! LOL.

I know I certainly cannot reconcile the fact that I know of no process by which a living being can live on only air and light. Whether it be rocks, ocean water (full of nutrients),soil or by eating everything seems to need matter in some form
Since air in it's natural state doesn't carry the minerals and other things life needs, just oxygen, nitrogen and some noble gases (and pollutants) I just can't see it working.
#236
You are right Nostic,
I just needed the typing practice :-)... do you believe me? LOL
#237
Quoteim way out of your league.
Arrogant as ever eh?

So now could you define for me at least exactly what you regard as a weak mind?

For me a weak mind has symptoms such as the need to assert superiority by way of attack. Often  superior education is claimed and asserted, in others it's their money or their car. Each to his own form of egotism I guess.

Can you honestly prove to us that we all definitly close our minds to the real world? That we ignore suffering and unhappiness?

I have sent you a fairly comprehensive reply to your private message. Once again I submit to you the fact that your writing and your manner do not indicate a 24 yr old well educated individual with a rigorous and openly inquiring mind. It would be rude to state my personal opinion as to what I feel your style of writing does indicate.

It is insecure to feel that the best way to argue is to attack only. I have more I would wish to say but I am not so well educated and I will need to take some time to decide what more I wish to say and how.
It is amazing that you devote any time to a subject you so thorougly dislike.

I spend zero time on forums criticizing spectator sport or other pursuits I'm not interested in. I do not spend much more time engaged in religious discussion for the same reason. I am surprised that with your "intellect" that you spend any time whatsoever on this subject.
#238
Yeah Frank, explain yourself :-).
Everyone's individual, if one learns how to access all aspects of themself then as was mentioned earlier perhaps the physical gender becomes irrelevant.
#239
It doesn't feel like it makes a lot of sense LOL. I can't see a solid process for this to work. Plants have photosynthesis and the nutrients in the soil. There isn't an organism I know of that doesn't take in minerals etc from somewhere external. Unless someone is proposing it is possible for a human being to actual be so efficient at recycling breakdown products and reusing them? This is one time where I'm really really skeptical.
#240
Some people like anything that's free :-). Personally I like chi, that's free especially if I make some effort. I don't trust the site and proprietor, but that's just my feeling and opinion. Let me know if they do anything for you would you? hehe

Also I class this under the airy fairy fluffy bunny wafty wafty approach to healing and energy work.

floaters? what you seen if you stare at a white screen, page or sky. I don't think they are anything unusual just a consequence of a fluid(ish) filled eyeball. I don't like bursting bubbles :-) but in this case that's what I think you'll find it is. Easy enough to google

Hi folks, I hope some of you could help me a little please? I've chosen to put this here as many of you are far more experienced in your areas than myself.
I am writing for my 15 yr old brother a booklet on effective study based on numerous books I have read and used. There is a specific reason I'm doing it this way, partly because I need to coach him here at my place for a week and partly because he won't read "recommended" books to help himself when he's alone. Long story but he's really bright but right now emotionally flat, bored and tired a lot. I live a fair distance away and he has 3 other brothers who have all left home now. He's alone a LOT, way too much. Anyway I've been considering putting together a booklet containing a combination of the best techniques and principles I've ever used or come across and I realised a short meditation could be used in a structured study/review strategy. So would anyone care to comment on the following and perhaps suggest improvements? I'm trying to focus on brevity, clarity and effectiveness. Nothing more mystical than using this to temporarily rest the brain is the game. I will be writing the other sections over the next few days.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The short meditation technique.

Introduction

I've included this technique because it is helpful to know a simple conscious step you can take to give your mind a few moments to really rest-even in the middle of an exam!  Needless to say it is a practiced skill and to start with you may find it a little hard.  After the following description I will explain for those who are interested a little more as to why this can help with studying, exam taking and work.

Technique

   Posture
If you are used to any kind of meditation involving the lotus position, then sitting on a chair straight backed should be easy enough. If you've never tried this before it is well worth practicing on a dining chair or similar. Especially if this is for a school or college exam. I do not suggest that the exam itself is the time to practice this as a new skill, but once you are familiar with doing it for short periods then it can be applied at need.
One final posture note. It is possible to balance the head so that you can enter a trance or relaxed state even though you do not have full support of the head in a lounge chair or similar. This is something you will have to experiment with to find the perfect position. Revision sessions are the time to practice this when you do mini breaks every 25-30 minutes.

If there is sufficient time and you have got used to performing it, go through the muscle relaxation described earlier, alternatively use one of your own. The more frequently you practice both skills the easier and faster you will do them at need.

Now, start to focus on your breath, the mechanical actions and sensations of breathing in and breathing out.  Follow, if you can the leading edge of the air entering your nose and flowing into your lungs.  If you wish you can add the ideas of white light, heat etc but it is unnecessary.

Try to put all of your thought onto the act of breathing, attempt to stop all other thought whilst you do this.  It will appear to be impossible but the very attempt will yield some benefits mentally.

After about a dozen breaths start to imagine a loud "om" or humming sound, if possible make it sound like it's echoing through your mind and being sung by many Buddhist monks perhaps. Make the sound fill your mind drowning out all other thought.

Attempt to hold this sound and the concentration on your breathing for several minutes. The longer the better of course, but even a few minutes will rest your brain for a short time.

You may find it helpful to have an alarm, vibration alarm on a mobile or something similar to remind you to wake up if this is used in an exam situation and you are genuinely tired.

Explanation

This particular technique has been taken from several sources, one of which is Robert Bruce's work "Astral Dynamics" (The leading edge of breath idea), and the other is a more common mantra type idea used in various practices and traditions.
My aim in teaching the idea as a short technique is simpler that long term meditation training. When you are concentrating hard parts of your brain are producing what you could call beta waves.

The prefrontal cortex is working fairly hard during study as are other areas of the brain, producing mainly beta waves (these definitions are clear cut alone, you produce most frequencies at differing amplitudes or strengths all the time).

By dropping into slower frequencies you get a small respite or rest effect. During some kinds of sleep memories are being sorted and cleaned up. If you succeed in dropping into a useful state quickly within a few minutes you can find your attention span and concentration on coming back out of the meditation state is better.

Also if you have scanned ahead in an exam at all at the questions using previously described techniques, this priming will be more effective and you may find previous amber questions becoming green and so on.

Make it more mysterious? :-) Discourage casual interlopers? Many reasons, you have to try for yourself instead. I can't see the article on their site. Would be interested to see it. I wrote a paragraph on stuart wildes method in another thread somewhere that some may find useful.
#244
Maybe you don't need to use the word God then? A unifying force that has intelligence by it's very nature doesn't need to have a moniker attached to it that causes so many people to have too many assocations with the word.
In me I can't accept "God", and most of my reasons are internal, emotional things to do with structured dogma. I could live with some other definitions perhaps, universal intelligence or something less "personal deity" like :-) but that is just me. I don't "accept" a higher power/authority right now because I believe in total self responsibility. That's where I am now
#245
It's been so slow to have anything develop and happen that I really don't want stupid fears and barriers stopping me again to be honest :-). That's annoying, to find I was completely closed apart from being able to move energy to finding that something idiotic as this stops me from practising when alone. At the moment 4 nights a week I'm alone so this is a problem.
I'd rather the shadow self, the stupid depressive side of me that derails motivation etc would just quit for a change rather than keep returning to stop things.
Sorry ranting :-) I'll stop LOL. I carry on when I'm in a better mental space, my day got completely thrown out by someone being here all day so nothing I wanted to achieve happened GRRR!!
#246
Maybe I put this in the room section! LOL. I asked a question a while ago about Xenoglossalia also, but presumably nobody has experience with this?

Would anyone care to comment? :-)

Stuart Wilde recommends going into "alpha" or a decent level of trance and then either use a metronome or a ticking clock with a second hand.
What you do is try to put your attention/awareness between each tick and each movement, and try to make that second feel longer and longer.
His claim is that you can get to a point where it seems like an hour for 1 second.
Never took it that far but I did try watching the large fan in our house on maximum, I sort of changed my perception of the motion, again that could be illusion though ;)

Blind belief is a powerful force when misdirected :-).
That site reminds of DBZ amateur sites. If he's got something good then he can afford a professional developer. Feels like nonsense.

Quote"Whatever the humblest men affirm from their own experience is always worth listening to, but what even the cleverest of men, in their ignorance, deny, is never worth a moment's attention"

catmeow, this is a fantastic quote. Anton1, some of the things you say and the way you say them sadden me. There is no solidness to your generalisations, the weak mind nonsense is totally useless and incorrect. The opposite is true for many many experienced practitioners of all kinds here.
Perhaps you hope that predicting flames would prevent them also.

There is a reason that most regulars here are still here. They explore, they experiment, they document, and share their data with others who may be interested.

Whilst this is not a strictly controlled scientific community, it's something far more important. We are not about preserving some Ivory Tower of some way of thought. Real science is also NOT about preserving one way of thought, but about finding TRUTH, this means attempting in a positive way to prove theories or end up disproving them as necessary, however the emphasis is on the PROOF. Science means I believe "to know" or have I got that wrong (it's late ;-) ). To know means not to close your mind to things NOR does it mean blind belief and wishy washiness. It means to honestly try to find out.
If you care enough to comment, then perhaps you should care enough to seriously leave your silly prejudices behind and actually make your own personal and honest investigation.

No-one has to konw you know, if you accidently prove your original narrow viewpoint wrong, you don't have to admit it :-).  Sometimes the last thing we want to do is reveal that a viewpoint held dear has been proven to us personally to be wrong.

The members of the board, appear to me at least appear to be about exploration and developement.  If some of those directions do not appeal to your sensibilities kindly do not engage in them.

I do spend time reading skeptic sites such as skepdic.com (not a good example due to it being based on a skeptical philosophy only and not based on scientific rigor) as I believe thorough scientific foundations can only be good for the kinds of practice I am interested in.

To what degree are you actually qualified to make your generalisations? How many months have you spent doing your homework? How much do you really know or at least think you know?

I wonder what dictates whether a person can percieve these beings, their guides or any other such helpers/guides/higher self etc? Or what dictates relative ignorance no matter what?
