I honestly don't think it's possible to ever tell what it is, unless it happens again.

Ah yes, hi again.

Quote from: MindFreakYour higher self is your real self.

I would agree with this, but take it further.  I would say that the higher self is the collective intelligence created from combining all your lives' knowledge and experiences together.

I would also add that there is (I believe) a higher self to your higher self (a higher, higher self) and so on and so on.

I agree with what MisterJingo posted.  The only reason we have alter versions of sight, hearing, feeling with clairvoyance, clairaudience (etc) is because we're used to using the five physical senses we have.  The brain interprets the way it is used to interpreting, so it draws correlations to the senses it typically works with.

I've also read something on this subject with regards to those who are blind, and those who have always been blind, describing their sensing in the astral.  I believe one statement went something like this:

"I felt as if I was feeling everything around me at once, like I was putting my hands all over everything at the same time.  Thus, I had a perception of the spatial coordinates of everything and its surface form."

That is essentially exactly what physical seeing does, but he didn't actually see anything.  I can't remember where I read it, which is a shame since it was a good read.

I find it interesting that I completely understand what you mean by the "3 dimensional blackness", and more interesting that I've never heard someone speak of it before.  Thanks for sharing that experience, that's sort of where I am right now.

That was a pretty interesting experience, thanks for sharing.

It is no longer necessary to send her healing.  Finally, it doesn't hurt anymore.

My mother is gravely ill and in the hospital.  Cancer has done a number on her, and it seems she doesn't have very long.

I haven't been a member here very long, but I request anyone that can send healing do so, while she's still around.

It really depends who you ask.  If you consider Astral the 4th dimension, I've heard of dimensions up to 15.

I should've added that the guy I live with has tried, and is trying, many of the things I've been getting into.  It's his fault I'm into this stuff at all.  So, if I tell anyone about it, it's usually him.  We don't always get along as well as we should, but I figure it's better than being a hermit and living alone all day.

The friends I have already know I'm a character, so if I told them any of the stuff I am really into, I doubt they would find it surprising.

It's interesting how like attracts like though.  The whole 4 months I've been into this stuff I've come into contact with a Reiki healer and a former chaos magician (both my age).  I imagine if you wait long enough, people come around that are interested and will listen.

From what you describe, you were probably guaranteed to have gotten out had you been ready for the sensations.  At that point, keep a clear mind and go with the flow and let things happen as they will, and you'll be out in due time.

From what I understand, your heart does not beat faster than normal.  Rather, it is the heart's energy center that is strobing which, coincidentally, feels exactly the same.  There is no danger in this.

Why I think you were able to feel it afterward is that you got too excited, thus triggering a faster heartbeat.

I personally see no reason to tell my parents, or anyone, about AP or anything occult that I'm interested in.

For the sake of being a team player and staying on topic, if I were to tell my parents, their reactions would probably be quite different.  My dad would most likely think it's crap and a waste of time, but would also leave me to my own devices.  My mother would either be very concerned or very interested, but not in between.

Welcome to Dreams! / Strange Dream
December 03, 2005, 18:39:24
It's more annoying than anything.  Sometimes I write stuff in my book in my dream and think I did in reality, so I don't bother to check if I did.

Then later I see I never wrote anything, and now I can't remember the dream to write it down.  Bleh.

I'd ask them why they take the time to answer questions.

Welcome to Dreams! / Strange Dream
December 01, 2005, 21:07:12
This post of mine concerns a dream of mine I had a couple months ago.  This was originally posted on the Astral Dynamics forums, for anyone that is interested.  It's more food for thought than anything else, in my opinion.

Anyhow, the dream was a unique kind.  First of all, it had two levels of depth to it.  I was dreaming inside a dream.  I'll try to keep it clear below.

Second Level (dreaming in a dream)

I was at my parent's place, reading on the couch.  Out the window across the room was a view of the front lawn.  On the lawn was a pine tree (which isn't there in reality), the kind that is more cylindrical than conal that grows pretty much straight up (not sure what kind of tree that is offhand).  Anyhow, it was about 8-10 feet tall.  While I was reading, all of a sudden the tree spontaneously caught on fire.  Huge flames engulfed it for a few seconds, as I watched in awe.  After those few seconds, it went out and returned to its prior state, unharmed.  For some reason, the thought was placed into my mind that it was 'an extreme aura', although it was not what I actually thought.

What the hell was that?  I said to myself.

Then I woke up from the dream inside my dream.

First Level

I woke up and my first instinct was to write my experience in my notebook before I forgot it.  I can't remember whether I did this or not in my dream (which happens a lot, instead of writing it in reality).  It was a powerful experience for some reason so I was rather anxious.  Anyhow, I checked my email and a friend of mine had forwarded me a news article from cnn's webpage.  It said that a tree somewhere in the world had a flame burning above it for no apparent reason.  It was also a pine tree.  People were going nuts trying to figure out what was happening.  Cue religion fanatics, doom proclaimers, the works.

Awake (for real this time)

I woke up and made sure I was really awake this time.  I wrote this stuff down as quickly as I could so I wouldn't forget it.  The anxious feeling I had before transferred over to reality, although it passed after a few minutes.

That's about it.

Yes I noticed you coordinate monthly.  I'm probably not quite at the point where I could make it there, see, experience, and participate, but I'll keep it in mind nonetheless.

hi I'm also new (to the forums)

This is the most interesting thing I've read about in awhile.

I see this thread hasn't been posted on for awhile. It would be a shame if the lack of activity allowed it to erode into nothingness.

I've done a minimal of searching for the number, but haven't found much besides the company Chris Carter runs.

Sort of related is that I see 1013, read as "Ten Thirteen", all over the place.  I have been seeing it at least a couple times every day for years.  So, I'm sort of in the same boat as you.
