Agreed, you need to experience all of them for your self and strive for improvement. I have the whole range from one and many times the wonderful 10.

Other. While I haven't subscribed to one belief system and keep an open mind, I have been gravitating mostly towards the Western Mystery Tradition.

Anyone have any input as to what is a productive experience in the astral? rather then flying around, exploring and meeting people in the astral.

Lately i have been trying to work on concentration and longevity, so that one day i can have longer and more spiritual experiences. I think i have a problem with creativity when it comes to obe because i have been finding it more difficult lately to think of new things to do.

I was just wondering what people consider to be a productive obe, any comments appreciated! :-)

Hi canicula,

As to what is a productive experience in the Astral that is a good observation, and question. What I am about to mention is NOT based on my personal experience, but upon a lot of reading and the direction I am considering taking. While just floating around, flying and creating environments is incredibly therapeutic and enjoyable, surely there could be attainable a better use of these experiences.   It could be said that there are many different frequencies/vibrations to the Astral and beyond. It could be said there are the more non productive, yet enjoyable areas like meeting people, phasing to different locations both objectively existent in the collective consciousness and similar locations to the physical, and then there is a higher more subtle "upper' part of the Astral sphere where progress can be made.  The activity I am alluding to partaking of in the "upper" Astral realm in Path working.

Perhaps someone better versed in Magic could further  elaborate upon my elementary understanding of this.
In Pathworking you purposely plan to visit specific areas of the Qabalistic Tree of Life.  On the tree of life there are in essence 10 Sephiroth and 22 paths. Each of the 22 paths correspond to a card of the Major Arcana of the Tarot, along with a letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.  Each of the "paths" have a number of correspondences which are specific to the particular path/card/letter,etc.  Without delving too much into a belief system... The idea is to memorize correspondences and visit certain paths on the Tree of life in the Astral, or what some consider "Mental" traveling.  While on that path you could examine several attributes around you to determine if by your observance of the "correspondences' you are in the collectively created, and objectively accurate path. Here you could ask specific questions of which ever being is verify ably present and learn more about yourself and other things which would be of interest.

This is just an idea as you requested of a more productive way to spend your time in OBE. This way could understandably take a lifetime to work with, but would provide a structured way to proceed. I hope I haven't gone too far off topic and I could recommend additional resources from where I gathered my information if you so wish.

I have learned to rarely share my practices with others who may not understand. How do I judge who would or would not understand? Do I stereotype?

Well, usually I have found the ones who talk loudest and profess to be the most authoritative are the least knowledgeable and most closed minded. The quiet ones tend to have a more objective view or openness to conversations that are outside of their comfort zone , and can discuss things without getting personally upset.
Only if asked do I share, and I usually ask someone if they ever wake up in a "dream", as many people can relate to this as a starting point.  And also since the movie "The Secret" is fairly well know, that is a good "fluffy" way to allude to the famous Hermetic Axiom....

Many people would treat me differently if I blabbed out my views, but luckily I am fairly quiet and non talkative with most. Everyone should be and is entitled to their own views, therefore I would only present a counter viewpoint if asked, never jump into someone else's conversation to refute.

Many years ago before I understood/knew what the word occult meant- I assumed it was "bad" or "evil" because I hadn't taken the time to research, read, experience and understand. So its all about knowledge and perception.

I borrowed from Wiki...
"The word occult comes from the Latin occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to 'knowledge of the hidden'"

yes, the rushing sound is a telltale indicator of an impending obe. Keep your focus and try to give in to the feeling.
Hagethuriel gave you some good advice.

Yea and a friend of mine said he has contact with him sometimes....wat bout Gnosicweb? and i use that banishing chant and that barrier magic circle chant before i try to invoke anything

In short, the trio of Xweb sites in my opinion presents a limited viewpoint on spirituality and the inner worlds, and seems somewhat dogmatic. I found that site years ago and went thru the courses.  While I think the printed book does give some simple, yet effective methods for inducing OBE, like concentrating on your heart, visualizing a temple in your heart, certain mantras have worked for me effectively as well.  I also think the visualization exercises and validation "am I awake" pull you finger checks throughout the day are helpful.

However, several other things I found disturbing and caused me to rarely, if ever return.

*Many posts get deleted on the forums if they don't coincide with the xWeb thought.
*Saying there is only one specific path, this one and if you fail you will burn in hell for eons while burning off all of your egos, then reincarnate through the cycle of mineral, plant, etc.....
*When someone asks a question on the forum, it is rarely answered, but met with "Better if you take the course to get the answer to that question because it wouldn't make sense now if we did tell you"

Those are a few examples.

As far as the protection chants/circle thing I used it for a while  I never could find those chanted word meanings anywhere, or any explanation, so I stopped.  Whereas maybe learn the more established LBRP, Rose Cross, rituals for protection etc( I am slowly learning now.)

Just out of curiosity- why Anubis?

I have a feeling it's Anubis, because Brainstorm_wow heard it on Astralweb or Gnosticweb?

Here is an old one.  When I was a little kid I had OBE experiences all of the time.  I used to visit a place called "The Boys Club" for fun in the physical after elementary school.

I was around 8 or 9 years old and had the experience of flying thru the club at night, the lights were off.  I took note that the placement of everything ex. "pool tables, ping pong", was completly different than earlier that week.  Sure enough a couple days later when I went back there in the physical, everything was exactly as I had seen a few nights earlier!

Although I was able as a kid to invoke lucid dreams, OBE etc, I dint know much more about them at the time. I was "emotionally" tied to the club as it = fun back in those days.

Ummm, I'm not sure you have found the right forum!

Perhaps a simple site search, or going to http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_permanent_astral_topics-b44.0/ will help.

As per my last post :) Hemi-sync was never created with the intention the CD would produce an OBE. The CDs contains various BB's which have been researched to produce specific mental states.  The binaural beats entrain the brainwaves and give exercises to attach physical triggers to these mental states. It's a technique used in many areas of mental manipulation, one example being hypnotism. Your brain associates a given exercise to a given trigger, and so in future, that trigger produces the mental state without the need of the CD. It's simply a way of saving spending 50 minutes reaching a specific trance level, allowing you to achieve that state in a matter of moments.
People who use the CDs thinking the exercise itself will create an OBE will be severely disappointed. Hemi-sync was invented to not act as a crutch, but to create triggers to previously entrained states.

Right, I agree mostly that Hemi-Sync was created more toward training the attainment of varied states of consciousness, with the learned ability to recall these states naturally.  What could take an hour, does take but a fraction of that with Hemi-Sync.

Of course Hemi by itself does not create an OBE, that would be a foolish assumption. However it does familiarize you with sensations/consciousness states that frequently occur while building up to the Out of Body state. Perhaps "crutch" was the wrong choice of words on my part.

In accordance with my understanding, and what you have rightfully stated above, here is a direct quote from the http://www.monroeinstitute.com/program.php?program_id=8 :-)

"The out-of-body state and tools that may be utilized to achieve this particular state of consciousness are covered in the Gateway Voyage, but that is only a small part of the program's overall scope of self-awareness and self- empowerment. We cannot guarantee a conscious out-of-body experience during, or subsequent to, a Gateway Voyage Program - but we do offer tools that can help you toward that end."

I've just been introduced to phasing by interviewing "knightlight". The interview is up on my site. I think the concept is valid. One thing I've been doing for so many years, litterally, is focusing on my body, awaiting the vibrations. Because all of my focus was on my body, of course I could not project.

With phasing, as I understand it, you totally relax, then focus your attention on the blackness in front and all around you. That is where your attention goes. No focus on the physical body. From there you wait for hypnogogic imagery to appear. When that happens you are in the right stage to begin what is know as the run-down. That means a typical activity you enjoy. Like for me I imagine myself swinging on a swing. Now the way it works is, your attention is so focused on this new scene that you fall right into it, as if it was a lucid dream. It will be that real.

Well I'm working on practising it so I'll keep you posted here.

Exactly, that is a good way to describe it.  Phasing is really enjoyable, and "cleaner" than an in-the-bedroom OBE.

Monroe's books are entertaining, and an interesting view into his journey of self discovery.
The Hemi-Sync files are a great tool to become accustomed with different focus states, and for an enjoyable guided experience.

Ultimately though, these tools are only crutches as far as re-learning projecting is concerned.

I must admit, I find some of the files great for getting into a work type or creative mode, like the 1 hour theta white noise, or the "baroque garden for concentration" metamusic cd.

For any obe, I prefer to go without Hemi-sync as I get concerned with "keeping pace" with the track...

I am "guilty" of watching the movie instead.  It was a great, inspiring journey which showcases the fact that enlightment must come from within.  The character goes thru many stages of searching, like most people and it is quite enjoyeable to watch.
#43
ahh, yes I just found that line as the last utterance of the ritual while searching for it.

So malganis, all in all would you say this is an accurate representation?
#44
Yes, from my understanding some of the points of the ritual were a bit off. Maybe some one with a bit more experience in this could shed some light on it?
I am not experienced enough with this to pick out certain points, but his tone is sort of demonic...

It's the same as the fear a child has of the dark.

See if this helps:

Find a room that you can black out and that has a mirror , like the bathroom after nightfall.

Stand in the dark and look into the mirror, take note of your feelings, and if you have unjustifiable fear, then practice dispelling it.

When I was a kid, I didn't have a bedside lamp, so I'd flip the light switch on the wall and do a running leap into the bed and under the covers.

Now I enjoy walking throught the forest at night in the dark.

This is a great idea iNNERvOYAGER. I have been considering doing this lately. I have gone from 3 or more RTZ/Astral experiences a week to maybe once a month due to avoiding the potential terror, even though some experiences have been absolutely incredible.

So Steel Hawk best I can say is take iNNERvOYAGER's advice, because some very beautiful, exciting experiences await just beyond the threshold.

Hi everyone,

I found this video, although I would never mock the subject matter, the execution of the ritual is amusing.

Great job on your OBE, sometimes it really does feel like being a kid again. :-)

I agree with what you are saying in how animal souls come from the same place as people.

As you said, cloning is the opposite of the natural way of coming into existence here.  It just seems to confuse me as it seems against the natural order.  Then again if in the Astral everything that has/is/and will happen exists, I am sure this type of incarnation is already accounted for.  It just seems very unnatural whereas perhaps too many animals or cross breeds of, will share the personality attributes of its parent.

Then again, perhaps I am not phrasing my question properly.
#49
I just read the following article stating: "The government declared Thursday that food from cloned animals is safe to eat." (Luckily, I am strictly Vegetarian)

This poses the question that if just like humankind, animals are on their own path of consciousness evolution, where does the soul and spirit of a cloned animal come from?

Do you think there is an "over abundance" of animals in the Astral, choosing to incarnate into this type of situation? :?
