He was a little more.. experienced.. in the field than most. :P

So when you first project, is it relatively easier to progress or is it just as hard.  I'd figure it to be easier due to the fact that you've made it out.  But as for the higher states, whatever they maybe, they must be equally as hard to atain as projecting in the first place eh.  :|

lol, thanks, I think the karma thing was from a misunderstanding, I thought someone was being an butt to someone but I was wrong. lol.  I'm guessing the karma thing is to kinda show who is good to go to for advice and stuff eh.  All I know is that I'm so close to projecting and that I'll be taking my time with it if and when I do.   :-D

Take it slow, step by step, otherwise you will not be able to keep your pace and could end up losing all motivation. Don't allow yourself to get upset over it.

I guess everytime you get a little further it's more amazing, so if you take it all at once then the excitment gets over pretty quickly.  Kinda like x-mas morning when you open all your gifts all at once, then the thrill of not knowing is all over almost before you've begun.

Don't give up so quickly man, I've been trying for about a year and still no luck either.  But there are many people who got it in much less time than myself.  Just check out this poll;

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/index.php?topic=24728.0

So don't get discouraged, keep at it and you'll eventually succeed.

And what is so wrong about giving advice that might actually be helpful.  Afterall, the young man asked.

Remember, I was a combat arms sergeant.  So it would not be the first time I advised a young man to choose bravery and self respect over cowardice and timidity.

Sorry man, to me it just sounded like you were getting mad or something, I guess I should just keep on asssuming that everyone here are good people. lol, thats why I always found it a little hard to chat to people like this because you can never tell what the persons reaction actually is.  So thanks for the advice you've posted.  :-)

Woah man, you need to chill out.

Well this post/poll ended up going in a different direction after, lol.
#33
That's actually the reason I started this post in the first place, but then I also read that you are the only one who can enter your body.  Kinda like it's a locked door and your the only one with a key.  Or something like that, I'm to inexperienced to give a good explanation.
#34
I'll keep that in mind, I should be able to AP within a month, I'm so close now, I know it  :|
#35
So I wonder now, if your physical body was in pain for whatever reason, is it possible to project and avoid feeling the pain?  If that makes any sense. lol
#36
I was just asking this because the other night I know for sure now that I was very close but for some reason I got nervous and then just ending anything I had at that time.  So just to give my brain some reassurance please answer the poll.  I'd say most of you will say that it's just that because I got further that the new experience will likely catch me off gaurd and I'll agree.  :-D   8-)

My answer is NO - it is the exact opposite. If I oversleep or take a nap, I increase my chances.

OBEs usually happen to me in the morning anyway (after a night of sleep), after sleep paralysis or not.

I would like to try after I wake up but my problem is that when I wake up I have to go use the washroom right away and then I don't get the chance.  lol  :|

Well I've been trying this after working for a few days now and im getting much better results  :-D

Hmm, seems like many of you accomplished this task fairly quickly compared to myself, but I wont let that discourage me.  :-D

I was just woundering this because I worked about 10 hours of pure hard work and when I got home at midnight and went to bed my head was throbing for so long.  It wasn't hurting or anything, it actually felt nice like a massage and my body just dropped on the bed and layed still without having to calm myself down.  It seemed so cool because after a hard days work I thought I'd be feeling like sh*t but instead it felt great and so relaxing.   8-)

Well I must say, even though your progress seems slow, it's good that you still have the determination to accomplish this task.   :-)  8-)

Like I said, the astral is as personal as a fingerprint, imo.   So, if the experience speaks to you, then allow it to do just that...speak to YOU..  Don't use anyone else's yard stick to measure it on wether is was an lucid dream, rtz, obe..etc...

Wow, that makes a lot of sense, I guess thats why everyone's projections and time to do em are so different.  It's almost been a year for me now but I've recently have made some real progress and I think it wont be to long now.  :-D  8-)

Sometimes you may sway a little, as if you are made of liquid and then you realise that although you are still in your physical body, you are no longer trapped in it, and you will be able to leave it.

I actually get this feeling everytime, most of the time in the past it thought that was me being out, and everytime i would move and then realize that I'm not out yet, so now I just wait continue through it until I'll be able to naturally flow out.  :-)

Well last night I made it further than I ever did, though I still never got out it felt a lot stonger than ever before.  I did what I normally do, layed down in bed, count up to 20 and back down slowly with doing breathing techniques and stuff.  Then my body went numb and started to feel light like it always does.  This time though, after this point my body felt increadibly fuzzy and I couldn't tell where my body parts were.  It was strange, my left side felt like my right and my right side felt like it was on my left, it was so backwards and opposite.  I thought I was there but then something destracted me and it was all gone.   :|  So now I hope that this feeling will be added to my nightly rountine of trying to AP and then maybe get even further and even get out maybe soon.

So tell me what ya think, am I close?  8-)

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / How long?

Well I've been attempting to project for almost a year now but still no luck, so I'd just like to get a little idea of how long it took everyone else.  And yes I do know that peoples first projection vary very widely, I'm just a little curious is all. 8-)

Feel free to post exactly how long it took you if it was over a year.

First, lie in a bed or sit in a comfortable armchair.  |o| Then rest your arms on the bed or armrests, and bring your upper arms to point straight up in a right angle, relaxing your hands which should hang limply at the top. Your arms should look like this _| wherein | is your upper arm pointing up. Allow yourself to drift off to sleep, making sure to keep your arms in that position.

Well I gave this a try a couple of times, the first time I fell asleep and when my arms fell I never woke up, then the second time I tried I fell asleep and when I woke up my arms were still in the same position. lol
So I guess I could keep trying or just wait for the hypnagogia to happen naturally, which happens fairly often.  8-)

I guess there is no point in trying to figure it out until I have my first OBE eh.  Man I can't wait
#48
Yeah, I've looked this place over fairly well, and already I've found a lot of helpfull tips, hopefully it shouldn't be long now.
#49
Wow, I didn't realize that, I have that all the time, I'll have to give APing a try in Hypnagogia.  I never tried to AP like that before because everytime I'm in that state I just feel to tired and then go back to sleep.  So from now on I'll just force myself to do it.
